Recently I purchased several scratch and dent tins at the Midwest Airgun Show. I sorted several tins and set aside all the pellets with dented skirts. These were from JSB Monster Redesign “Shallows”. As you can see they are pretty beat up.



I took these to the range and shot them at 50Y through my Thomas HPX. I also had a tin of damaged MRD “Deep” 25.4 and figured they were good enough for practice. Then I shot pellets that I had sorted with no bad skirts. It was a steady 15 MPH wind so the groups aren’t the best but good enough to compare good and bad skirts. The Apolo Monster 25.4 pellets shot horrible. JTS and AEA 25.4 were meh.

Bulls 2, 3, 4 and 10 were shot with damaged skirts. The other bulls were shot with undamaged skirts.

Given the current set up what are my option in terms of a smaller tank? I have been thinking about the smaller carbo fiber paintball tanks...Only looking to fill a tank to 3000 psi.....refilled a PROD.... What kind of adaptor would i need to transition into that they of tank.? Any and all information would be great.

Hey all! I live on a farm with a fairly long flat driveway, probably 175 yards. We have a major ground squirrel infestation, burrows all along the driveway. Anyway, i'm wondering what your go to rifle would be in situation like this?

Just got this nice pair.I lubricated them a little, they were completely dry, but they shoot very accurately.

So i may or may not regret this as i have a long standing love for the Impact lineup. But i want to try a Mora and my wife is not thrilled that i spend thousands on air rifles and acc lol

Nothing special about this other than the mic picked up the sound of the slug hitting and it’s a good one. Still makes me smile every time.

The (large) valve body cost in Holland 33.95 euro ( 39 dollar) which is in my opion very expensive for what it is.
A complete valve cost 115 euro (132 dollar) for that kind of money it worth making them my self.

What is the the material the valve is made from, Nylon or Peek ?

Field Target not only improves your marksmanship, it also can provide your social life. It can add a whole new list of friends and places you will want to visit.
Point?

Since i live in the Deep South of Mobile, Alabama, i was reminded of WHY i like field target sooooo much:

#1) The people are great, very helpful and It is a very social activity to share with like minded peeps.

#2) A chance to go places one might not otherwise visit.

#3) The challenge of shooting at unknown targets, at unknown distances on unknown courses is really a kicker for me.

Concerning #1)

I think it is very important, esp in summer, to remember just HOW important the socialization that takes place at field target events is.
If we start a match early in the morning, while it is still somewhat cooler, people will be ready to help set up and they will be much more ready to help break down and restore things after a match.
And then they will tend gather in the early afternoons / evenings for food and drink and stories galore.
But, if you take those same people and start a match late, especially in the heat of summer, by the end of the day, they are all toast, they are tired, grumpy, they want a shower, an air conditioned space and rest... especially if they have more days of competition ahead of them.
#2) plays into #1) because, based on where your venue is, you might have to adjust the dates and times to accommodate these environmental factors.
#3) means an existing venue has a huge challenge of keeping things new and fresh. Not as easy as it seems, and my hats off to all those match directors and clubs that work so hard to do this!
Don't be afraid to get creative, and throw something new or different into the target mix... it doesn't have to count for the overall course score.... but it may just count for a lot of laughs and some bragging rights at the social events that follow.

And don't forget we need young people who will grow into older FT shooters! less the sport should die...

Seems like a great idea for fast, follow up shots.
No more fumbling for the left handed, flush fitting side lever.

I picked up a pre-owned compressor. This is a GX-E-CS2. No manual or instructions.
Looks like foam filter in then handle to catch moisture.
Is there a better moisture prevention system for this compressor??
Also, the fill probe fits loosely in the bottles. Just need new O'rings????
Seems like it might be hard to line up the hole in the probe to the hole in the tank.
Is there a trick to this???

I bought a rifle in a pawnshop with a torn piston. Probably the piston cap was not securely fixed at the factory, that's why the piston was torn off. These are the consequences, the thread of the piston cap was worn out, I did not find any other damage, the thread on the piston is intact. I only ordered a new cap. The rifle is in mint condition, this is evident from the blueing of the piston. They tried to repair the rifle, but they could not disassemble it completely, they also could not reassemble it correctly, since the rifle is very complex in design and experience in repairing these rifles is needed. Many parts were lost during assembly and disassembly. The missing parts did not turn out to be a problem and I ordered new OEM ones. My question is the following, is it worth putting the cap on the thread lock? I am afraid that there is some invisible defect in the piston and the cap will be torn off again, will it hold reliably? Or maybe use JD glue or epoxy?

Hello all.

I recently became interested in air guns back in April, after accidently coming across the sport with a parallel hobby. As luck would have it, a former colleague sent me his old air rifle to use as a learning platform. Fast forward to today, and I now have 4 air rifles (including the first), a portable compressor, a not so portable compressor, a 9L tank, and a high pressure "bike pump" (used once, almost died, bought the portable compressor immediately).

I've been extremely blessed with some of the folks I've met locally, providing me with a ton of information as well as opportunities at gear I probably wouldn't have come across so early in the hobby. Thankfully, or regrettably, I have very limited impulse control and have seized most of the opportunities that came my way.

I look forward to learning and growing in the sport, I even have thoughts of competing at an event in October. We'll see what the cards hold.

The back story.

I am a newbie to PCP guns. My first one is a Ghost with a Hawke Airmax 30 WA SF scope I have had for a couple months. I am not a serious shooter, rather a backyard duffer/plinker.

My Ghost was grouping pellets like I was a pro shooter for about three tins of pellets. Then one day my groups moved about 1" left and 1" low. Consistently. So I zeroed the scope again and all was good for 50~60 pellets. I was still grouping good but would get a stray every five or six pellets. The stray would be 2" or so off the group. One day my first pellet was 6" low! Later I dry fired the Ghost not realizing my mag was empty. A large puff of vapor came out of the barrel. I am guessing vapor as it looked like thin smoke.

I fill the Ghost using a GX cs4i in my air conditioned shop. Thinking the drier air in the A/C would be good enough without a separate moisture filter. That thinking was apparently wrong.

When I bought into PCP I had planned on using nitrogen to feed the compressor. I modded the compressor so it would accept my nitrogen tank/regulator or use the compressor like it was designed. I did this for when I was filling the Ghost outside in my humid Florida environment. So I emptied the Ghost and refilled it using nitrogen yesterday evening. Went out this afternoon and shot about fifty pellets. Every five shot group was back to what it was when I first got the Ghost. The POI did not move back but tight groups and no strays.

So, for you experienced shooters, was moisture causing my bad groups?

* Hello everyone I hope you have a nice afternoon, I'm here looking for some kind of help or recommendation what should I do with my FX M4 .22 700mm sniper, I'm currently shooting 32 to 34gr slug, my highest point of impact is at 50 yards with a velocity of 960fps, at 50 yards I can make about 30 shots very consistent accurate, the problem is when I change to 70, 80, 90, 100 yards, the point of impact Automatically MOVES TO THE RIGHT About 3 centimeters, the further away you have the target the more it continues impacting to the right but the consistency of the groups are almost perfect 23.78mm MOA at 100 yards, but I need help or know how to do so that it does not make this impact to the right my M4 has many improvements.
