Been seeing more great 100 yard groups

It seems that there are a lot more PCP air rifles capable of good groups. It is great to see. My experience is with .222 and Anschutz.22 I think eventually I will sell and get a 100-yard capable PCP. First, I'm going to see how far my Marauder FT. .22 can shoot, it's dead on at 30 yards. I will need to go elsewhere to get it farther out...

The "Ticking Time Bomb" Collection: How I'm Simplifying and Going Back to Basics

I know I've written some posts before about simplifying my collection, and I wanted to share the next step in that process. Like many of you, I jumped into the airgun hobby hard and fast, accumulating a bunch of gear in a short amount of time. I had a full PCP collection, which I've since sold, keeping only my Talon P. My current fill setup is a bit much for just one rifle: an 18 cubic foot air tank, a powerful Omega Trail Charger compressor, and a smaller GX 2 battery compressor.
Over time, I started to feel like I had a collection of "ticking time bombs." Not that they'd explode, but all that equipment had seals and parts that could fail. I was spending more time worrying about maintenance and hydrostatic test dates than I was shooting.
So, I made a tough decision. I got rid of all the guns except my Talon P. Now I'm thinking of going even further. My plan is to sell the big air tank and the Omega compressor. I'll keep the GX compressor for quick fills, but I'm seriously considering selling that too and just buying a high-quality hand pump.
The reason this feels like a real option is that I only fill my Talon P to 2000-2400 PSI, which is a much more manageable range for a hand pump. It's a great workout and completely eliminates the need for all the expensive, high-maintenance equipment. I'd be trading some convenience for ultimate simplicity and reliability.
Has anyone else gone through a similar process of downsizing their gear? What are your thoughts on using a hand pump for a powerful gun like the Talon P, especially with a lower fill pressure? I'm excited about this new, simpler path and am curious to hear what you all think.

HW/Weihrauch  Moderator Insert on a HW97K ?

Is there a slip-in moderator insert that has noticeable sound reduction for the HW97K? I saw the one below advertised with a video...thoughts? I was thinking about experimenting replacing the factory "paper"? insert with a piece of heavy gasket material.

FX  FX WILDCAT gen 1

i degassed my wildcat today to add a reg in place of the brass plug. filled it up seemed to hold air pit ear next to gauge. went back to check on it 4 or 5 hrs. later and 0 pressure. so i gassed it up again. its leaking past the oring on the breech end of the cylinder? didnt touch that. my question is , by degassing does this sometimes happen where orings are compressed and just dont seal again.?
next question……
the parts list shows the oring as a 23mm x 2.5mm. is the 23 inner or outer dia. not sure how fx sizes.
thanks!

HFT Rifle Raw Micro vs BRK Carbine

Hello there,

I am getting into HFT and have narrowed the choice to these two. The reason is that I am now interested in shorter length airguns and would prefer something that I can take around easily and shoot outside of the competitions.
The BRK is much more expensive, any of you can compare the two guns for HFT? For example some negative feedback for lack of adequate cheekpiece adjustability, but I dont know how that compares to the RAW.

Amazon SCBA adapter for refill

I picked up a Scott 45m 4500 PSI SCBA tank from a local fire department. It is currently certified but expiring in the next month or so.

I'm looking for an adapter to convert it so I can fill my PCP Kalibur Cricket gun. I have a cheapie compressor. Does anyone know if the Amazon Fill Station Kit, PCP SCBA Fill Station Refill with 60cm Microbore Hose 0-4500PSI Charging Connector Adapter Air Rifle kit any good? I don't want this exploding in my face. Not many options and this a long with other options from eBay all look the same..

Other  Threaded barrel options?

I mostly have PCP air rifles, but am looking to add a decent springer or gasser rifle to the collection. I've noticed that most of the options out there today don't seem to be moderator friendly (have threaded barrels). Why is that? I want to be able to put on one of my LDC's if I buy one of these. What are my options? I'd prefer as light of a gun as possible, .177-.22 caliber, 650-850 fps would be ideal, and of course needs to have a threaded barrel.

SET UP FOR THE NEWBIE

I just wanted to make a post about some things I learned , my setup , and welcome you to Airgun Nation.
If Anyone else wants to add there set up here it's all good as well.
1st the "RABBIT HOLE" This is the place that takes all your money by the want or need of the airgun addiction.
If you want to spend thousands of $$$
On a new airgun , and don't have a clue what to do read ( The $2,000 Dollar Gun) it very informative , and a great read . I learned so much from this post from all the people here on this great nation.
My favorite setup is my .22 cal Zelos with a 500 cc bottle ( so I could get more shots) , and I got the round nose aluminum bottle from Amazon for $40
, and to make it fit a C88 Machining Zelos bottle adapter on the web for $50. I use a Tuxing Twin cylinder compressor Model TXED012 I got at
Wally world ( Walmart ) with a 3 year Allstate protection plan. I use Seco lube 500 compressor oil for it. This it my setup I like the most it functions good , and keeps me happy. I personally would stay away from Hatsan products as they have upset a lot of people. Hands down I say the best place I know of to deal with is Pyramid Air. I once bought an Air Venturi bullpup there that did not work , and they gave me all my money back.
I bought the Zelos I have now there , and it works fine. As with anything we do that's new to us we have to learn I know I did , so that's all for now.
Happy Shooting , and have fun. OV.
