I purchased this rifle new in July 2021. It has less than 500 pellets through it and it is unmolested except for the camo tape. It shoots JSB .25 26.5gr Hades at 803 fps. This has proven to be a deadly accurate combination on Iguanas out to 50+ yards. It comes with two magazines in the original box that I received it in. The scope and bipod are not included with the sale. I’m asking $1695.00 delivered in the CONUS by FedEx or USPS ground. I can take payment by PayPal +3.5% or MO. I will also take a personal check(shipped when funds are secured). I can provide more pics if needed.

Please PM me with any questions. Thanks for looking.

Nearly made a HUGE mistake - selling a rifle I would surely regret

Yesterday, I was working with my AA TX200 MKIII, a rifle I invested much time and care in tuning and developing, shooting my RX targets, attempting to put a 5.52 mm Predator GTO lead free 11.75 gr pellet through the only 10MM holes in the steel face plates to knock down the 1/4" steel plates.

I was experiencing a lot of fringe hits. I knew that this rifle was something special but I got frustrated and thought it is time to move on to another project. So I listed it on AGN. Fortunately, no one moved to buy it or it would have been gone. It has since been removed and I have no intention of selling it.

After a good night's sleep, I decided to get it back out this morning, and work it through the paces, shooting two ten shot groups with each of 7 different .22 pellets. My memory indicated that when I did this as part of the original tuning project, the Predator GTO was one of the best performers. It certainly wasn't this time.

Below you can see the test results, with the JSB Hades clearly the winner, and shrinking the groups by half from what I was experiencing. For anyone that finds it to be of interest, after completing the 2 shot group tests, I re-zeroed the rifle, shooting three 10 shot groups with the Hades, achieving nearly identical group sizes at an average of 656 fps, with an ES of 9 fps, an sd of 2 fps, producing 15.89 FPE.

The pellet test results are as follows:

Mini Carbines Rule…

As it applies to PCP pellet shooters, It’s understood that if going long, 70+ yards, on small pests? A good rifle or carbine is a wise choice. But how about sub 50/60 yards, sub 45 yards, or 5-10 yards? At those ranges, for small pests. Mini carbines like the Atomic XR, RAW Micro Hunter, Notos, Jets, and Prods, etc., rule. The mini carbines have adequate power, are light weight and easily manipulated. They are sweet to use in cramp spaces or around farm equipment, livestock, etc. When I first started going long with my rifles, out to 104 yards on pigeons. I got many back to back kills. But there were a few instances, were I had to trek out there to dispatch a wounded pigeon that had glided to adjacent trees. That I did not enjoy, so I started to hunt closer and my furthest shots on all pests were now about 60 yards with 95% of my kills being from 20-40 yards. So at that point my Bantam Sniper HR became “too big” and unnecessarily heavy for how I go after pests. The Atomic XR opened my eyes to what a small sweet PCP could do. Going forward for me it’s mini carbines all the way. I do love to plink long range out to 100 yards. But just don’t have the desired to shoot pests at longer ranges. Not when I can get closer. Another big plus to me is that it’s so easy to hand pump my Atomic XR, 45 strokes, from 110 BAR to 250 BAR for 33 shots at 725 fps. So I’m not a hostage to my SCBAs or compressor. I foresee more mini carbines in my gun safe…

BinTac B&W S45/357

BinTac/AEA is releasing the semi-auto s45 in 35 caliber. I know there have been some problems with the 45 caliber but I'm thinking that in 35 caliber will probably be a lot better, won't have as much problem pushing those slugs. And a plus is ammo will be cheaper for it. The listing for it says 170 FPE. Obviously it's not as powerful as the s45 but having a semi-auto that is that compact that can produce that type of energy and hopefully not have any of the jamming problems that the 45 cal has had would be quite the woods walking Hunter.

MOD EDIT: REMOVED SELF-DEFENSE REFERENCE. Please refer to the rules

Little Target Practice with the 97K before bed

Got some offhand practice in with my FT 97K before bed. Practice is really starting to pay off! I could barely keep it in the black a year ago. 5 shots at 10m:

20230204_210956.jpg

Next 5 shots weren't nearly as pretty but its a 14lb gun and I'm small (and a few other excuses that I haven't thought of yet) so I'll take it still.

20230204_211753.jpg

Does anyone else prefer to shoot at high magnification offhand? I find myself to be much more consistent at 50x than I do at 10x which seems counterintuitive to things I've read. Most people seem to be the opposite. Just curious to see if my brain is broken or if maybe I'm doing something wrong.

.30 Hades at 75 FPE

Getting ready for ground squirrel season. Sighted in the WAR FLEX .30 shooting Hades at 870. 75 FPE sure makes these things open up. I intended to shoot some 12oz water bottles. Turns out they were frozen. Shot them anyway. This one made a clean pass through at 30 yards. Opened up too .435”. If you ever see me put this gun up for sale again, please remind me how much I love it. Happy February! Only 6 more weeks of winter!

What size bottle can my compressor fill?

Hey guys I’m new to this so please don’t try to make me feel any more dumb than I already do lol. Can anyone tell me how big of bottle I would be able to fill with this style pump?

I just bought this pump and thought about getting a small bottle to throw in my pack when I go hunting if possible.

Question for Mycapt65 on HW30s & HW50s

Mycapt65,
I am in hopes you might have the time to give me some advice on HW30s and HW50s rifles. If so thank you for the gift of your time, knowledge and experience. First a bit of background to put things in context. I am an active, fit 67 year old here in North Western Maine and am returning to air guns. Like many, my first gun was a BSA springer as a young boy. My first hunts for squirrels. Like many I moved on to the 22 lr, then the deer rifle and left spring guns behind. I recently decided to get a springer for target practice, Red Squirrel pest control in my large garden, small orchard and bird feeder and for some occasional Grey squirrel hunting. After many hours of research (Wow, air guns have changed!) I have purchased two springers. I have a HW30s on hand and have a HW50s coming next week. You seem to have an affinity for these guns, hence my seeking you out. The HW30s is wearing an older Bushnell Banner 1.5-4.5x scope. It has a smooth shot cycle out of the box and is insanely accurate with 8.4g pellets. 4 Red Squirrels have passed into the great beyond in its first couple of days here in Maine, so it is earning its keep. After 50 shots I removed the barrel and inspected it for galling, which had just started. The cocking arm linkage at the riveted knuckle was very stiff. I worked that till it was functioning freely and lubed it. I then polished the rough surface of the cocking arm until it was smooth with various grades of emery cloth and put a smear of lube on it. The plan is to make the HW30s my fun gun and bird feeder pesting gun. I may put a Williams peep on it, I may keep it scoped. Is there anything else that you would advise I do to it? It will probably see 500 rounds a year, as many interests compete for my time. Now the HW50s I have more concerns. It is reported to be a fine gun, but few seem to like the shot cycle out of the box. The heavier cocking will not be a bother as its role will be as a hunter, longer range orchard pester and it will likely only see 100 rounds a year. What would you advise here. I have the tools and skills to take apart and do a drop in tune, deburr, etc. I am not a machinist, don't really want to get into spring cutting, do not have a chronograph. I don't want to be constantly tinkering, just dial them in and use them as the fine tools that they are. Oh, and both are .177.

First shots from new tune

Weather broke enough for me to want to shoot on a day I had time to shot! End of last summer I vocalized my frustration with my M3 and getting it to shoot well. @Bigragu PM’ed me to offer some support and I soon decided to have him tune it for me. I live in southern Oregon and he lives in Northernish California so I drove my gun down to him so I could actually meet someone else that is into airguns. It was really great, @Bigragu was very welcoming and it was nice to chat. He got to work on my tune communicating all along the way detailing everything he did and documenting with photos. He finished a little before Christmas and I drove down again to pick the gun up, but due to weather and time I didn’t get to try it out till today.
I woke up to a calm and relatively warm day, but the wind had picked up by the time I shot. The ammo I wanted to shoot with it just wasn’t shooting well at all. So I threw in some Hybrids. Oh by the way .25 caliber 600mm barrel. The Hybrids were lights out! They were shooting at 1020 fps and grouping well at 85 yards. Picture of best group below. With that group there was a lull in the wind for the first three shots, the three nearest the bull. Then it picked back up on the last two shots. I was very happy with that grouping, and from a slug flying at 1020! That is going to be devastating to Starlings.
Part of this post is to give a shout out to @Bigragu. Not only was he professional, did a great job, and reach out to a frustrated member, but he also become a friend. Makes me glad to be part of this forum.

One hell of a loopy shot.

I’ve been after this tree rat for the longest time. Under my car and on the roof. He gets one hint of me and he’s gone.Today, his guard was down. I had a head shot 30 yds. 40 ft. up a tree. Had my HW97k .25 yes .25. Let the lead fly. He fell like you pushed him off a building, back first. Went to get him, couldn’t find, buried.

He was dead before he hit the ground.
BD6FB0C8-03FE-47D4-80B3-612DFD33795A.jpeg

The 97 .25 is not my favorite hunting rifle. I find my 77 and 97 .25 cal. both very accurate up to 45 yds. which is currently my range limit with targets. These guns are definitely loopy. If you know their loops they’re deadly. Crow

NLA .22 Caliber AA TX200 MKIII - Like New - Fully Tuned

Periodically, I buy new rifles specifically for the purpose of tuning them to perform exceptionally accurately. It is just a hobby of mine that gets me through the cold winters and takes my mind away from a pressure packed work environment. Then I put them up for sale to clear room for more projects, and to provide shooters opportunities to buy a fully tuned rifle, rather than having to send a new one off, or get frustrated with their first springer experience because of a harsh shot cycle.

Featured is one of those rifles, an absolutely gorgeous AA TX200 MKIII in walnut. I tuned this rifle utilizing a Vortek PG3 HO kit. As I worked with it, I removed approximately two coils of the spring to maximize both the group accuracy and to make the cocking and lock-up exceptionally smooth. This is an incredible shooting rifle - with no buzz or harshness at the shot cycle.

There is one tiny little handling mark shown on the 5th photo, but this rifle is better than one can get out of the box, and other than the testing pellets, has had very few shots through it.

I am offering it for $1,000 without optics, including the Rowan Eng cocking handle, shipped within the continental US. If one were to buy it new, then send it off to have it tuned, have to pay sales tax, the tuning labor, parts, and shipping, the cost would be considerably more. It could be purchased as shown with the Helix Element scope and Sports Match rings for an additional $400, providing even more savings, and having an heirloom rifle ready to go.

Goodbye Atomic XR. You punched above your weight but it's time to move on to something else...

Loved the Atomic but I got an offer that made me whole on it and decided I want to upgrade to something bigger. Looking at a BRK Ghost Plus or Ghost HP (weighing size vs versatility right now - plus AoA won't have them in till the end of the month).

Thought about an M3 but I really don't have the time to tune that I see others have put in to make them work.

My Atomic in it's final iteration before I sold it.

SOLD Fx Bobcat MK2 .30 **Deal of Century** $450

This gun I bought from Centercut who won EBR Sportsman's division 2019. It still is the one of the most accurate .30 I ever shot. But here is the problem...

I let it sit for a year and sold it. The person I sold it to shot it and noticed it was dumping the air after each shot. After replacing, the reg with new Huma (included), still did dumped air. I refunded the buyer's $ and was planing on fixing it today.

But now, I look at all these FX parts and I feel like vomiting. I like FX guns but HATE working on them. I can't stand how intricate they are, how many seals, little screws they have all over. I like accurate guns more than anything, but need them to be simple and durable. That is why I stopped buying FX.
Okay rant over. The gun has two mags, two single shot trays, shroud extension, Eagle view dovetail to picatinny rail, fill probe, many extra seals, also an extra valve, extra Huma reg.

Sold AS IS! PARTS! I always back up the guns I sell on this forum buy not this one. It is sold as NOT currenly work as PARTS. I just want get rid of it/cut my loses/ and move on.

I got a .357 AEA Max. I really enjoyed this gun, but have to move on. A year ago I shot a coyote with it. But recently I got two more .357 that better suit my needs.

This one has a VERY SLOW LEAK. It leaks less than 100 bar per week. This is a common leak, YT video show how it can be fixed. It has no magazines because I used a single shot tray. I tuned it for .35 JSB because the were by far the most accurate projectile. At a 220bar fill, it shoots four shot between 830-860fps.
