PCP Rifle  SOLD Uragan Standard .22 cal, Huma Reg, Walnut, Gen1 - $885 Shipped CONUS

*** SOLD ***

I've had a relatively long and enjoyable relationship with this Gen 1 Uragan Standard in .22 cal, but I am now shooting some 'new and different' guns so this one doesn't get pulled out of the rack as much.

I took it out this morning and shot 6 groups (shown in last pic), 5 each 5 shots and 1 each 10 shots at 25 yards. Shot FX 25.4 gr pellets straight from the tin using a CARM magazine. And the gun was pretty boringly accurate as I recalled it to be. Even better in the hands of a better shooter.

From my notes it looks like I installed a Huma-Air regulator in 7/24. It was installed as set (130 bar) from Huma, and was found to shoot FX 18.1's at 1,015 fps with very good accuracy, or FX 25.4's at 908 fps with excellent accuracy.

Generally the gun looks to be in fantastic cosmetic shape other than the slight wear marks shown in the photos on the upper and lower Pic rails. At one point I removed the OEM plastic guard from the lower Pic rail, but it is easily re-installed with a couple of bolts. Can't find any blemishes at all on the wood stock.

Comes with OEM box and soft case, OEM fill assembly, vernier calipers and key fob, 3 magazines (1 OEM/2 CARM), OEM owners manual (not shown in the pics), and an extra fill probe which terminates in Foster QD male. And the removed plastic bottle guard.

$885 payable via PayPal Friends and Family, including shipping within CONUS.

First "I'll take it" PM wins.

Thanks,
Tom

Fill hose

I filled my pcp with a omega 4500 compressor and an alpha moisture filter. When I was done I released pressure from compressor and filter but my fill hose was still under pressure. It took me quite a while to shoot all the air out of my pcp. I've searched for some type of pressure release fill hose but haven't found one. Can anyone suggest a solution to this problem?

On taking a knife to a gun fight

This weekend Mrs. Chukar and I went to the ranch we manage to get some chores done and have some R&R.
For her that means reading and Facebook. For me it means air guns and running my pointers.
I usually make a tour of the place in the morning and then again in the evening with the side by side buggy just to see what kind of wildlife I can see. I used to throw the Maverick Compact 25 in for pests and plinking.
This weekend I took two guns with me. My FX Cutlass and my M3 600mm 30. Out here you never know what you will see out banging around. Last year I was able to shoot a badger with my Panthera Compact 30 and it was my truck gun until I converted one of M3’s to a 600mm 30.
For some reason I put the Cutlass 22 in For this run. I decided to go to the pond and make one last look for my spare Cutlass mag that the grandkids lost two weeks ago.
I stepped up on the dam and was looking through the weeds when some movement across the pond caught my eye. About 50 yards out I could see a coyote head coming through the grass and weeds on the other side of the pond. I froze and watched. In short order 3 more coyotes joined the first. I assumed they were coming down to get a drink. Was gonna be a good show.
Of course the Cutlass was in the buggy 70 yards away and it is not a coyote gun in my opinion.
I heard them enter the cattails at the upper end of the pond and listened to them playing in the water for about 5 minutes. Then all 4 came out on the bank and started playing like puppies. I was kicking myself for not having the 30 with me. All of this happened within 50 yards of me and I was straight downwind of them.
After they left I decided not having the 30 was not a big deal as the show was enough for me today. However, next weekend early one morning the Lucky Duck E caller and the Mw3 will revisit the place if the wind is right.

Destructive squirrels meet their end

Been working a ton this May and wife calls me and tells me she’s seeing a lot of ground squirrels on the property last few weeks. Sure enough get the call her RAV4 has a check engine light and isn’t running right. Get home and wires are chewed through and squirrel crap on the engine.

So I get right to work. Right away find two fat ones sunning themselves flipping me the bird. So I grab my trusty Wildcat MK2 and dirty nap time. Now I just got to get all their idiot kids running around this week. Oh and pay the car repair bill. Can‘t let up for even a second or they will destroy everything around your property.

Snowpeak  Snowpeak M60B .25cal First Shots

Here is my first shots video of my Snowpeak M60B after I have converted to .25 cal from .22.

I kept the original factory 130Bar REG and HS and I got avg speed of 835fps with the NSA 26.8gr slugs. After making some HS adjustments only, I was able to get 865fps.

Accuracy out to 50yards was decent but I think there is room for improvement.

Next test would be to increase the REG and get more speed in hope of tighter groups.

Stay tuned.

Airforce  Is Airforce Talon .177 (no P, no SS) backyard friendly if I tune it down to 700-750 fps ?

I want to buy my first PCP but most rifles around 500-600$ that shoot .177 are way too big. And only talon that look good, compact, no air leakage review. Only problem that the noise is level 5. Im broke so cant spend 100$ for talonSS and another few hundred buck for a silencer. TY!

Underwater leak test, DON'T!

I've seen several posts mentioning that dunking your air rifle or pcp underwater is okay if you do it quickly and dry everything properly.

My advice is, just don't.

A coworker dropped off a Hatsan Jet 2 .22 because his gun leaks about once a month. He doesn't ever use it, but when he thinks to do so it's down to to almost empty. He gave the gun to his boss who offered to leak test it and fix it for him..well, needless to say that although he was reassured it wouldn't rust, that as not the case. Also the leak was never fixed, because it's in my hands now. Well, it's at the house, I worked on it this morning, cleaned it up, changed a few seals and removed 98% of the rust. But just see for yourselves.

I'm not sure why the gun was dunked under water for a leak test when there no where for the air to escape aside from the aurtube and valve assembly which is forward of the trigger area. I found the leak to be coming from the bottom flathead screw, and I also found a mangled oring where the valve plate seals up against.

After clahing the seals, cleaning up the guns polishing parts, and lubing it all up, it was holding air. Now to wait and see if it holds up.

The only part remaining with a bit of rust is inside the barrel, I went through 17 patches front and back and there is still some residual, I need to get a nylon brush and scrub it out with the boroclean I have.
