Barrels and more barrels

Lothar walther, CZ, TJ's, FX - Really barrel liners, BSA, and I'm sure several others, I'm not one to claim expert knowledge on all barrel variations and brands. These are just several respected brands in our hobby. The best? Please, I'm not going to start that nonsense. FX makes several, ever evolving liners that suite their purpose extremely well when tuned well. CZ and TJ are standard steel barrels that perform well with a good amount of different ammo. Lothar walther does exceptionally well with the properly paired ammo, ammo picky , but but very effective when paired properly. While all have strong reputation I find myself always being drawn to CZ. The pellet / slug versatility from a stock barrel draws me in. Now , yes FX wins many contests, I've never shot a TJ barrel platform, but heard strong reviews, otherwise He would not be in business. Lothar walthar is good, but doesn't possess the versatility or projectile friendliness. The polygonal LW and CZ are still unknown to me at this point, but I seriously doubt they suck.

Help with Brocock

Hi, I am new to pcp and this Brocock Contour S6 is my first and only pcp I’ve ever owned. I bought it for myself along with a Hill hand pump when I retired eight years ago. It worked perfect and was very accurate for over a year then it stopped holding air.
I’ve never worked on airguns I have on firearms but have no idea on what seals need replaced.
I have searched the net and haven’t found much info on this model.
So what happens is when I hook up the pump I’m able to pump to 200 bar no problem but when I release the pressure valve on the pump all the air comes out.
Can anyone tell me if I ordered this Brocock seal kit from the UK would that first step on the right directio.
Thank you and I’m sorry for my ignorance on this matte.

Most desirable thing in the airgun world?

There are obviously many things that are desirable in this hobby. But what is MOST desirable? To have your own compressor? Cost effective pellets / slugs? Projectile friendly barrels? All would be great, but, I feel the absolute best thing is to have your own personal range. No range fees, no extra travel, no loading and unloading a multitude of gear each time. Now all you breakbarrel folks got the rest of us on this granted. Just to have your own range with no problems with neighbors, or with cool ones, life would be great for a shooter. What say you?

Gen 2 25 marauder tune

Hello,
I bought this gun years ago used and have just hunted with it and never tuned it. He said he power tuned it but it seems not so much with what I chrono graphed today.
2950 fill shooting jsb 25.4 exact kings
16 shot average of 761, SD 15, spread 52, about 34fpe.
Ending at 1800 psi ave of about 67psi per shot.

I don't know what these should be going velocity wise and the gun is accurate. Seems slow to me. It is all factory not aftermarket. Hammer spring was 5 revolutions cw out from all the way screwed in and hammer stroke was 4 turns out from all the way in. The valve was about 5 out from closed. I don't know what do to do. If you get it back to factory settings I would and see what is does. Do any of you guys know the factory settings or what to do. I just squirrel hunt with this so I would like at least 2 mags before having to fill back up. I'm new to this tuning so I need so guidance.

Thanks
Jon

Crown upgrade from .177 to .25

Hi. Im thinking about order a .25cal kit to my crown mk2. But do I need something else than what comes with the probe, liner and shroud?
Hammer spring or heavy hammer to get to the dessired speeds that .25 need?
I cant see im getting near ok speeds with .25 when I only get 850fps with 13.4gr .177 (but my tune is probably way off i hope)
I Just want to know so I can order the parts i need at the same time.

Rebuilding FX Royale 400

Air rushing down the barrel. I assume that means the main firing valve is leaking through. I replaced all o rings and still the same. Il thinking the seat o ring is the likely culprit. The seat itself is steel on steel. How does that seal?
Also, if I try to use the recommended o ring on the seat itself it is way too large and shears off up insertion, what's up with that?
Watched a video on YT and he pushed the seat in easily, any clues?

PA refurbished TX200HC Hunter Carbine: Okay or what? Lets roll the dice again...

Rolling the dice again. Why? I don't have a good answer other than trying to get a so said decent rifle at somewhat of a discount and myth of being a top springer from AA. Giving PA refurbished a second chance on the TX200, this time the hunter carbine. Will give pictures of the unboxing for better or for worse. TX200 HC RH .22 caliber walnut. Due to arrive Wednesday 17, 2023 from PA. Will take everyone on the same trip on what I see from PA and AA per refurbished TX200HC. Its here, few pics from lunch break. Rest after the work day. Do hear box movement inside, so probably not much packing (which has been my typical experience with PA). After a hard day at the office, just may have been rewarded. Please scroll down to later posts and see the Unboxing, is it good or bad?

PCP Rifle  SOLD Unicorn.. Kalibrgun Colibri / Hummingbird

I may regret this. A very limited number of Colibri are in the states and fewer shows up in the classified. I have own this bird since 2018. The stock was refinished with multiple coats of polyurethane to a glass finish with a hummingbird logo. Comes with 3 magazines, air tube Picatinny bipod mount and fill probe. I have added a 1/2 unf adapter to the end of the shroud so it will accept a moderator if needed. Original shroud end cap is included. Both shroud and air tube has been wrapped with high quality automotive carbon fiber vinyl wrap. All o-rings was replaced back in October 2020 when it has a regulator leak. Extra set of o-ring will be included if you ever need to replace them. There is a scratch on the body of the gun shown on one of the photo I have repaired it with with Birchwood Casey aluminum black touch up pen. It’s not visible when the stock in mounted. The Colibri is tuned to shoot 15.89gr at around 890fps.
It is very accurate. I have trim tree branch at 84 yards with it. This is my goto pcp for the backyard tree rats.

Scope, scope ring and bipod are not included.

Not interested in trade. $1550 shipped and to CONUS. Accept Paypal F&F as payment or add 4% to cover Paypal's fees. If you have any questions or like additional pictures please message me.

Red Wolf - I forget how good it is

With the number of really great air rifles I am so fortunate to own, I don’t grab for the Red Wolf very often.

It has been several weeks, if not months since I last shot it. I pulled it out of the vault today. The battery was still sufficient in power, I loaded the 11 shot magazine and shot a sub 1” group at 85 yards in a nice breeze. It is soooo smooth.

The poi seems to be always constant regardless of weather conditions, something I can’t say about several of my rifles.

It never lets me down. I should shoot it more often. I forget how great it is.

Great deal on FX Panthera Hunter Compact coming to me.

I just ordered from The Pellet Shop and got 5 tins/bags of ammo for FREE. Plus free shipping. This deal is a Mother's Day special that ends today (Sunday). Just select your ammo it will show as no cost when you add to order. Talon tunes has them in stock if you want to pay more . Ya, me too. A new model that is selling fast and The Pellet Shop is promoting it with freebies including the ammo, free shipping and a T-shirt. WTF, I love ❤️ it. I'll be back after I take it for a test drive. 22cal. Bill and Addi.

Some Common Questions...

Here are a few common questions with the REAL question or motive translated... to anyone who has asked any of these and feel the need to get your panties in a bunch, don't. This is all in fun.
If any of you have any other common questions with the real translations, please feel free.

What do you all think about the new Sooper Dooper Springer that will do 1000fps? I want to use it for everything from chipmunks to coyotes. It's on sale now at XMart for $129.

I've seen Joe Blow on YouTube kill a hog with a spring piston gun in .177 and now I think I can do the same. All of you who spend big money on PCP's are just dumb when the same thing can be done with a big box springer. Besides... they shoot just as hard as a .22 rimfire. I mean 1000fps! I will likely never get close enough to a coyote anyway and instead will take an ill advised shot at 65 yards and might get close enough to scare it. Never mind the fact that shooting a springer...ANY springer requires a level of finesse. I'm a manly man and I can hold it so tight that there is no way it will move and I'll be able to shoot it just fine. If I need more precision on it, I'll just add my old rimfire scope and mounts to it.

I'm new to airguns and have been looking at the [insert whatever high end PCP here]. What do you all think?

This one is tricky.. there are typically one of two translations here.

1. I have more money than I know what to do with and now have a new hobby. I can buy the best gun, scope and all available accessories and Ill be able to brag to my buddies at the country club. I don't really care what 'you all think', I just want to show everyone that I'm buying the best of the best right out the gate. When I tire of looking at it, it will sit for a few years with all the rest of the toys that caught my eye at one point or another.

2. I've learned my lesson on buying cheap stuff and have budgeted for something that I believe will fit my purpose. I've taken into account all accessories. I've researched all that I know to research and I'm relying on the wisdom of the group here to ensure I haven't missed anything.

Why do I need to make 10 posts to sell my airgun?

I got a bug in my arse and went to Walmart and got a 1200fps brake barrel because I thought I would be able to kill things at 100 yards with it. I soon tired of it and I don't really want to consort with any of you undesirables on this forum, I just want to unload this gun and recover 112% of what I paid for it and 212% of it's actual value.

HW97 or TX200?

I full well know that this get a lot of chatter and I want to rile folks up. There will be about a 50/50 split and it will be fun to watch folks go at it. There's nothing good on TV tonight anyway.

What airgun would you choose for a SHTF situation?

I watch too much anime and when I was a child (ok, ok... and even as an adult) I read the books that had the 'if you want to do this, turn to page 23, if you do that, turn to page 45'. I secretly know the answer because Bear Grylls calls me for expertise on all things survival. I once even killed a spider in my living room. I don't really care about the answers that people give, I just want someone...anyone... to suggest the gun that I would select so I can tag on and virtual high five and chest bump with them.

Suggested pcp rifle + compressor for a noob

Hey all, Ive had break barrel air rifles for many years, and am looking to try out a budget pcp rifle and compressor thats less than $1k total. would like to use it for mostly target shooting and occasionally small pests such as rodents

I am considering the air venturi avenger .25 cal (~$350) for the better muzzle energy compared to similar .177/.22 models. apparently it gets 800fps and 40-50ftlb and looks like it has decent reviews too. has anyone owned one of these and can tell me how they are?

I am not sure what air compressor to buy, have never used one before. some others in the forum mentioned yong heng compressors but there are dozens of models from that company. is something like the yong heng YH-QB12-S good for $259? says it is 4500psi capable, 350w power and 3000r/min, those sound like decent specs?

Simpler is better

Hi y’al,
So I bough this Beeman shoulder stock for the Beeman P1/HW45 decades ago and tried everything to get it to enhance the accuracy of the P1.
I placed red dots and pistol scopes and I’m done. Today I took the stock and scope off and was happy with how it shot with open sights.
Scope will go back to one of my contender barrels and that stock will go on Ebay.

More scrutiny towards the airgun industry??

Some of you that are airgunners are also firearm enthusiasts. Garand Thumb (Military gun guy) posted a video today about the FX Panthera. Read some of the comments.
My guess is that more scrutiny is coming to the airgun community. And with scrutiny comes more "regulation"
Have the industry leaders FX/Daystate, etc pushed the envelope too far??
