Airgun Technologies  Uragan 2 25 cal 700 mm barrel tunes

I would like some good velocities for my Uragan 2 for 38 grain slugs and 50 grain Altaros. I am currently getting 960 fps for the 38 grain and 850 for the Altaros. Good groups but not great. My 25/700 Panthera likes 920 for the Altaros. When I got the Uragan it shot the 38 grain slugs excellent but I have been adjusting the regulator and now cannot find anything super satisfactory. I did not bother to check the 38 grain velocities before messing with it, bummer. Should have left it alone.

New Apolo .177 slugs

Has anyone tried these and had success? I've tried these in my Krait L .177 which is shooting V3 10.03gr KO slugs at 960fps and my U2 600mm .177 which is shooting 16.5gr at 885avg and neither barrel likes these slugs. I've gone as far as removing excess lead flakes via fiber cloth and with both barrels they shoot 6-12" groups out to 35yds.

Air gun Scopes

Hmmm... I have had many types of break-barrels from $80 Walmart specials to $500 magnum springers. With every one the scope was always a problem, especially with the magnums. Over 40 years of air-gunning got me to the point I am now. How much of my scope problems have been from how much I was "tightening" them so that wouldn't move? I am about to find out. Who said you couldn't teach an old dog new tricks?! I am buying a torque kit made for guns, I just learned the average torque is typically around 20 inch lbs depending on manufacturer specs. I was smashing them on for sure.I have a break-barrel that can make 1" groups at 65 yards until WALLA!, the scope breaks one way or another, parts fall off, starts shooting weird and can't be adjusted, you name it. Some last 100 rounds, some 2000. Mostly it just starts shooting weird.

Errggg....Hurumph, Bah Humbug. 🤪

Diana  Have a German dated 2007 Diana 48 .177 Springer purchased new with a question:

Never been dry fired...I know the rule! Beautiful dark Stock. After shooting today, I lightly clean it from muzzle to butt and from the breech end, run a couple of light patches with cleaner/protector down the bore. Annually I put a couple drops of oil on the spring and bolt...and fire a pellet to release the compression. I take extreme care of this rifle and it looks as if factory new...aim (not a pun) to keep it that way after almost 17 years. I know of no better way to prepare this rifle for storage. Is this S.O.P. with 48 owners? One last question: There are 6 clicks or stops when you cock the side lever (spring)....I have never tried it, but is is o.k. to short stroke the spring for a short distance target? This is one powerful rifle and twice a year, I compete with my grandson with his .22 magnum in accuracy at a 100 yd. range. I always surprise him and he is an accurate shooter!!!!

Dry pack refill experiment!!!

Ok guys,
installed this new dry pack refill on December 2024 and just replaced it today…
this New type of dry pack refill comes with this little orange beads that sits at the bottom of the filter tube & suppose to turn green in 3 to 4 months time…
I must admit I m not a daily user of my pcp compressor but usually run every weekend…
took some pictures of replaced dry pack contents and it didn’t look green to me at all even after solid 5 months of staying in That dry pack pro metal tube!!!!
comments are welcome.

Air Arms  Updating my TX200.

I have a TX200 mkIII. I bought in 2010. I used it for six years and would shoot 2-3 hundred pellets a day sometimes.
Then in 2016 I moved and it sat. I shot it a couple times in 2018 but not much. Now I have my own field target range and got the old TX out for a shoot. Even with the wrong pellets and a scope that’s not dialed in. It was a pleasure to shoot. It is set up for WFTF at 12 fr lb. The trigger has been worked over and the gun is a dream. But no one wants to shoot WFTF piston class anymore. The scope I have is a big 40x with a 15x marking but no 16x marked on the scope. The side wheel is kinda big and it is all kinda needing something.
So I decided to give it a freshen up and convert it to hunter class. It shoots perfectly well . But a smaller scope would help with loading. And I need to re blue the cocking lever. The original blue is gone. I have an idea to reblue it with heat. Let’s see how that works out.

Air Tanks  SOLD Scott 30 minute (44 cu ft) SCBA tank $180

I just finished this great looking Scott tank , dated 10/07 , but shows no use..........not a scratch or mark that I can find . I removed the CGA 347 valve , examined the interior of the tank and installed a slow flow din 300 air gun valve . I aired the tank to 100 bar to check for leaks and function . And as an added bonus to the nocturnal pesters / shooters , the tank and pressure gauge glow in the dark . Included in my price is a 20" micro - bore hose with female fosters at each end and tracked and insured shipping to the conus. Because this tank is beyond it's 15 year service life , you must have your own source of clean, dry, high pressure air . Use at your own risk . No commercial entity will fill it . Not interested in trades or offers at this time . Please deal by pm . Thanks for looking ............Herb

Krale And UPS Import charge??

Anyone have a problem recently with Krale and UPS import charges?

I paid a little under $600 for my P35X from Krale which includes shipping on 05/09/2025. Now, I just get an email from UPS saying I owe 859.67 USD to be paid on delivery!! Krale and the UPS email show the same tracking number.

I emailed Krale for advice. But obviously, I'm not accepting the P35X if forced to pay that import fee (assuming it's legit). I also logged into my UPS account, but it also shows the same fee.

It's so nice having talented friends

I've been blessed with parts from many fine makers. A few I've traded for, most I've bought. I did CAD many moons ago but still find it easier to have someone with a nice printer to put together a great part. Here's my new Gauntlet .30SL bottle clamp. Doesn't interfere with the shroud but helps if you were to accidentally drop or bump it. A good friend just made it for me. Moves the bipod out further which is my preference.

Crosman  No more 2240?

So I have decide to finally buy another 2240 for the PCP conversion that I have had sitting in my basement fore about 2 years. Apparently all the 2240’s have been sold, and the new ones if they continue to make them will be made in china to a different spec than the ones made in the United States.

Crosman has really disappointed me with this, I enjoyed the fact that Crosman made affordable Airguns that were made in the United States. Not to mention the 2240 is a remarkable piece of equipment that is very accurate and was very affordable.

Guess I’ll be searching the rummage sales for 2240’s now

PCP Rifle  SOLD Airmaks Katran Compact .22 tube version

I have a nearly new (purchased from UA 1/25) .22 Katran compact .22 tube version. I have it tuned to shoot 15.89 at 800 fps for 65 shots (5 Carm mags worth) from 270 down to 120 bar. Super light and small 165cc air tube takes no time at all to pump up whether using a hand pump, tank, or compressor. Mint condition, no scratches, leaks or issues. Folding stock is incredibly rigid! Huma factory regulator. The only thing was touched on this gun was the hammer spring and I had to tighten the degas screw when I first got it. CZ barrel of course. Power is easily adjustable, I set it 800 for shooting targets, it came to me shooting 860 with 15.89gr pellets. 65 shots at 22 ft.lbs is quite efficient for the 165cc air tube. Comes with Airmaks case, original mag, probe and paperwork from UA and 2 Carm mags. Honestly, the Carm mags are better than the factory ones. I will ship CONUS (US 48 only) only and take PP F&F or PO money order. If you are local to (20646) southern MD, you are welcome to come shoot it and check it out. $775 shipped. Any questions, please feel to PM me and I can give you my cell number to chat about it. -- Blair

Need lightweight, cheap 22 PCP Rifle for occasional rabbit elimination

Good mornin.' My wife and I bought a Benjamin 2262 and a scope 2 years ago and never fired it once--way too heavy for us who need quick pointing and shooting! and...2 years later, it's still too heavy, 8.5# without the magazine, but with the scope.
What's the best occasional use ( 2 months a year, 200 rounds) 22 PCP for us. We need the firearm equivalent of Ruger's cheapest 10/22.
The Benjamin seemed like a great starter gun, but we'll never need something this good and this heavy.
We're quite familiar with firearm sites, but a good low-end PCP? We don't have a clue.
Thank y'all very much!

Viejo and firearm-loving wife

It can only be two things, right?

Thoughts, Shooting my Maurader Field Target.22 using Air Arms Diabolo Field 16 grams I get all pellets touching at 25+ yards.
Next day my groups are opening up....So my air pressure went down ,could that cause my groups to open up ,I mean it was not a big drop ,but it was getting down to 1000psi which I think is too low. What is your sweet spot? I think I keep it above 1500psi from now on.
Ok, the other problem could be me,I am not as good from one day to the nest:cry:

A request to all MD's / Club Reps.

This thread is being cross posted from Airgun Warriors. I take no credit for this content. The original author is Hector Medina. He's a long time competitor and respected voice in the field target community.

"
Back in 2009, the rule in the handbook for the visibility of the targets was very clear.
It included a very measurable goal:

"Targets will be visible from a point 15" high above ground for non-designated targets" (that meant the "free position" targets of today).

But somewhere between 2011 and 2012 this rule quietly disappeared.

The current rules under Common Division Rules, Targets; read:

G. Hit Zone must be clearly visible from any shooting position, or from the designated position on
Forced Position shots.
H. Any obstruction (grass, tree limb, etc.) shall be related to the Chief Marshal and removed prior to
the first competitor shooting a lane. If an obstruction occurs by some natural condition during the
match and only affects a limited number of shooters, the Match Director, at his/her discretion may
remove the obstruction and allow the affected shooters reshoot the target. Otherwise, the
obstruction must remain for the duration of the competition unless it creates a hazardous
condition, such as a potential for ricochet.

So, when some shooters, mostly WFTF get to a lane where the target is simply not visible from the bumbag.

There is a twofold problem:

1.- The "ANY" is not defined, so there is no measureble way of telling whether that particular target in that lane, is legal or not.

AND

2.- Some Marshalls, even Chief Marshalls, think that the rules say what THEY think they say and not what they really say, and I quote hearing:

"Once the match has started you cannot change ANYTHING in the course" (verbal emphasis from the speaker).

Now, that is not what the rule says, the rule very specifically says that it is up to the discretion of the Match Director. BUT the rule establishes that the Match Director may remove the obstruction. SO... in the case of the terrain itself being the obstruction what is the MD to do?

Dig a trench? NO WAY!

It also leaves to shooters that shoot from elevated positions to define IF there is an obstruction or not, Hunter Division shooters typically shoot from a position that is 26" to 32" high; Open Division shooters , with the harness are typically 20" to 26" above ground. Since between these two Divisions, we have over 50% of the attendance at most shoots, it is not logical to ask them to look for things they are not concerned with.

Given the above the ask is simple from all of you:

Please send a note to the AAFTA BoG requesting the text of sections G & H to change to:

G. Hit Zone must be clearly visible from a point 15" above ground, or from the designated position on
Forced Position shots.
H. Any obstruction (grass, tree limb, etc.) shall be related to the Chief Marshal and removed prior to
the first competitor shooting a lane. If an obstruction occurs by some natural condition during the
match and only affects a limited number of shooters, the Match Director, at his/her discretion may
remove the obstruction OR elevate the target using a block or other means, without changing the distance to the target, and allow the affected shooters re shoot the target. Otherwise, the obstruction must remain for the duration of the competition unless it creates a hazardous
condition, such as a potential for ricochet.

It's not about me being short (my pants are 33" inseam and my belt is at 36" height). It's about where the sport in the world is going with more and more shooters opting for the "Deadman's" or "SouthAfrican" position, and it is about keeping all the Divisions under one "roof".

Thanks for your consideration and understanding."

Back to me. I was discussing this with my co-MD and we were concerned with the word ANY, as it suggests the target needing to be visible from 1 position, versus all positions. If you replace the word ANY, with EVERY, the 15" rule would be a given, and defined as the optimal height.

Have at it!

RTI  RTI prophet l , Gage in the rear..

I have a prophet l set up in 177,22, 25, and 30 caliber , Kinda of a closet gun, But I would like to put a digital gauge in the rear of the gun,, It seem all the digital gages are to big.
