FX  FX Boss Tuner

Hi All,

Not sure where to put this post so figured I would try here for starters!

Got my FX Boss delivered and the new Huma reg installed and shot a few mags through it last night and talk about impressive. Down side is I am only getting around 30 shots per fill (160 on the Huma reg) and I know it can be tuned better unfortunately not only am I not a tuner but with my work schedule the gun would spend more time in pieces on the bench than it would being sorted out.

All that being said would love to have someone who knows what they are doing go through this one front to back and get the shot count etc. where it should be and just give her a once over etc. Possibly would be open to removing the shroud so a 700cc bottle could be added (not sure how that would affect accuracy etc.).

Only changes I made were replaced the bottle with a 480cc carbon fiber one and installed the Huma reg.

Anyways anyone up to taking this in let me know and can talk cost etc.

If this needs to be posted elsewhere please do let me know.

Be Safe,
Dr. Mike Long

Air Arms  2 x CZ 200s Warning! Retro folks only

Both are .177. The top one is a 2020 T200 5.5FPE, bottom is 2002 S200 13FPE, using JSB 10.34 domes. Top one addresses my English Sparrow issue (sorry chaps) and the bottom one for Gray Squirrels. I just need to convert my 3rd tank to a foster as pictured with the other 2 and I am set besides ordering another moderator to match the one I have for the S200 (not pictured obviously).

I'm not sure why but I have bits and pieces coming from the Czech Republic and Canada for my .177 Stormrider and have this "log" called the Airacuda Standard that I wanted to fool with the Power Wheel, but who wants to shoot a 9,5lb rifle of any kind? OK, the Airacuda has a an Arken 4-16 on top, but still a NOOB impulse buy! I had the "I wants" for a NOTOS but why, when I have a FX Streamline .22 coming in about 4 weeks. Starting this hobby at near 70 - so little time so many choices.

In any case I like to refer to the Czech-made 200s as my "wizard wands" as when you point those "wands" at critters' heads those critters die, one shot. If it is bigger than a squirrel....I probably won't grab an air gun. I do have nearly 10M in the basement so having these .177s gives me a chance to shoot when the weather forces me indoors and I am too lazy to go fishing:)

[Resolved] What should/could I use to record video down the scope of my Maruader?

Looking for a cost effective option on this one. I know it can become very expensive for something like this. I'd like to utilize my GoPro Hero 12 Black if possible, to reduce costs. I saw one option, but they had to sort of mutilate the GoPro 11 to remove the stock components. I'd rather avoid that. Ideally, is there anything that you guys & gals know of which I could use to have my GoPro Hero 12 Black record whatever my scope sees, but then just be able to quickly remove my GoPro for use on other things? If it helps, I do also have the "Max Lens."

Thanks in advance!

Edit:
Thank you for your replies! I am squared away with this. everything is more expensive than I am willing to spend. I found a 3D print that works really well if you miraculously happen to have access to 50% reflective mirror ;)

FX  Wildcat recoil anyone? Is it affecting your accuracy at long range?

Hi guys, I own the bottle versions of the Wildcat, it is in .22 and I have it with a 600mm barrel and a 480 bottle, right in between the compact and the sniper, I find it really comfortable.
I’ve owned the gun for about a year now and ever since I got it I noticed quite a bit of recoil, the gun stock is very light and I believe that is the reason why its got the shakes when it shoots.
I’ve been swaging my own slugs for a while now from a Corbin press, I found that the stx superior barrel likes the .218’s better than the .217’s but even though I’ve found the right slug, I’m still having trouble making decent groups at longer distances and I believe it’s the recoil that it affecting my groupings.
I have tried a couple of different things this last week, I shot groups with the gun held really loose, once the shoot went off, I let the gun jump wherever it wanted, then, I tried a couple of groups with the gun held really tight trying to follow through and stay on target as long as possible after the shot and the groups got tighter but not great.
I have tuned the gun to be consistent, I tried different velocities from 980 down to 940, couldn’t Get groups down below 2-2 1/2 inches.
Anyone experiencing this? Any tips on holding the gun? Could it be the liner (stx superior)? Should I try different velocities? I checked that everything is tightly screwed.
BTW I have an Impact MK2 that shoots amazing, no recoil, incredible groups at longer distances.
Thanks guys,

Lucas

Airgun Technologies  Brand new Urugan 2 delivered with deep scratch on CF bottle 🙀

Hi gang. Just took delivery of this beautiful new rifle that I’ve been lusting after since it first came out. I’ve noticed a deep scratch on the bottle. Anything to be worried about with respect to integrity? Like many of you, I’ve read horror stories about compromised high-pressure canisters, causing significant damage to person and property. Would anybody suggest I reach out to the dealer To replace bottle, etc.?

Thx,

Jay Sanchez

Other  Newbie first post -with a lame shoulder, is there hope for me to hunt deer?

IMG_5511.jpeg
TLDR massively bum shoulder - how much recoil does a big bore air rifle REALLY have?

I’ve had 2 major shoulder procedures that have helped but it isn’t a perfect fix.
My shoulder still subluxes.

For context - If I carry a gallon of milk with my arm slack at my side, my shoulder will sublux. I’ve developed some muscle tone to combat it but the last time I fired something that had the ability to take a deer down, it ended with a complete dislocation.

I even had an AR built with a muzzle break to try and combat the issue, which it did, however, it felt like you were being slapped in the face and I need 2 sets of ear protection to tolerate it on the range.

Very recently, I learned about big bore air rifle options. I’m consuming research (and y’all have provided so much) but I am concerned. I don’t want to invest in a “let’s just try it” deer set up just to be out the investment and up another shoulder surgery.

Here are my concerns:

1 recoil (obviously)
2 force needed to cock a deer set up (I’ve read some things that say they take 20lbs to load a round?)
3 maintenance and mods.
4 anything else? I don’t know what I don’t know.

The good - I'm a decent shot. My last DRT was Saturday. I got a squirrel with a daisy 880 at 50 feet with iron sights. Would’ve eaten it too but it was a nasty boar. Pic attached, don’t judge the glove.

The bad - yes, in addition to my lame shoulder -
I am lightweight and pretty weak.
I am not mechanically inclined
I want something reliable. I know, that’s subjective so let me clarify
I want to fill, point, shoot, clean, repeat.
I’m a lefty

I’ve just ordered my very first PCP - an Air Venturi Avenge-X .22 (it’s marketed as ambi and I am a true lefty) and a JTS portable compressor. Now all I can think about is deer season is coming and how nice a .50 Airforce Texan sounds.

But, can I handle it?

N/A  Three Shot Groups for me Going Forward…

Yes, on occasion this mediocre shooter sends some sweet 1 MOA, five shot groups out to 50 yards and beyond. But mostly I’ll send 3 or 4 great shots and flub the fifth. Or, send 3 great shots and flub shots four and five. I can hold consistent 1 MOA, 3 shot groups on a good day, but am not a target shooter or competitor. I am a plinker and pester in no particular order. Once zeroed? Am off to the races. At practical ranges? 1/16th off in the “the vitals”? Matters not to the pests… DRT! While I may be mistaken, I believe that three, shot groups better reflect what I can do with my PCPs. Of course understanding that my PCPs group better than I can hold.., Thoughts?

Benjamin  [RESOLVED] Are these good picks as my first Marauder .22 pellets?

Screen shot attached. Thanks in advance for looking :)

I wanted to grab a variety of grains. the super light "Predator" will be used for long distance plinking and just messing around. The others are a variety of grains I intend to use for small/medium game. I know a .25 would have been better than a .22 for this, but if I can get myself a turkey this year then that would be really cool; that's what the heaviest grain in my list is for. My main goal here is to have something that could dispatch a turkey using a .22.

For the turkey hunting, I can't imagine I'd be more than like 8-10 meters out max. For the long range plinking, that's just going to be for shooting at inanimate targets for fun, basically just to see how far I can push the rifle.

Thoughts?

I'm trying to stick to Pyramyd because I am in the US and also their "buy four" deal.

Edit: I also forgot to mention that this specific Maurador will be the "Regulated" model with the "Lothar Walther" barrel.

Tuning  Anyone use Audrius internal regulators from Lithuania/eBay?

Anyone used these cheap Audrius internal regulators from Lithuania that are sold only on eBay for around $70? Like this one https://www.ebay.com/itm/162104913497. I want to try to drop it one in my Marauder, but I'm not sure. Huma reg is $120. I sent a message to the eBay seller (2014_rusy) asking about some specs and instructions and heard nothing back. Suspicious . Anyone use these regs, and what's your experience? Worth a shot or not?
