Magazine use in WFTF

Hey folks, I was wondering if one could use a magazine in a WFTF event? Or a State/National match? Since I've been practicing with a rig for WFTF I found my magazines will provide the same accuracy as a single shot loader. I remove the magazine when done with my lane and place an empty chamber flag in the breech just as I normally would. I looked in the rules and didn't see anything mentioned, but I've been known to glance over details sometimes. Can anyone qualify if a magazine can be used?

FX  FX AIRGUNS AND THE OLD LADY VIDEO ?

My memory is foggy, and this was probably 15 or 20 years ago, so please bear with me....

Does anyone else remember a very short, (maybe 30 seconds long), FX airgun commercial video, with a little old woman in a chair, watching television?

As i recall, she was sitting in a rocking chair, knitting or crocheting while watching television, in an otherwise almost empty room.

Next to her was a open window, and suddenly, loud annoying black birds outside, began disrupting her watching television.

So she picks up a FX rifle, and quickly eliminates the disruption, and then goes back to watching her television.

Does anyone else remember this classic airgun advertisement?

Ive searched Youtube, but it seems like this commercial is no where to be found.

Does anyone else remember this classic video?

Anyone still have a link?

FX  FX POI shift - tips

This is my way how I eliminated or minimized couple of issues some people still noticing or experiencing today. What I did was a progress through past 2-3 years and not a single afternoon brainstorming, may help some people next time doing a surgery on Impact variants.

Lets start with barrel/liners. I am running with floating liners on orings, tried several other scenarios and I am back to square one.
I replaced the orings inside barrel to NBR 90.

liner orings.JPG

The Liner Lock (#10) have a single oring for .25 and two orings for .177 and .22;
The Barrel Inlet attachment (#5) has also a oring as well. These orings doesn't seal but locating/floating the liner.
Easy to assume that frequent removing the liner for cleaning will sooner or later wear out these orings, especially if there are some sharp edges on liner ends.

I would assume you never squared up your liners?

How about putting a radius on the outer edges breach side to minimize shaving off the rubber when reinstalling the liner? Also silicon lube it well when reinstalling.

radius.JPG

I made a tool with abrasive diamond powder creates a small conical pocket into the Liner Lock, also cut a small chamfer on the liner muzzle edge, with a diamond paste I lapped these together.
This will lock the liner in same place no matter how many times removed.

Lapping the lead-in is as important as the re-crowning.

Installing the liner back into barrel and need a consistent torque for the Nut.

20240102_131056.jpg

The next question is - how easy is the barrel sliding back into its place?
Any parts misalignment issues?
And that is a next long story how to assemble and torque properly.
If that would be me, I would take all apart, and once in pieces
I would (I did ) replace the PUR oring inside Plenum to NBR 90;

Polish to mirror finish the Valve Rod the portion that slides on the NBR oring, also refresh the 2 MM oring;
Polish the Valve Seat

Polish the Reg washers
Polish the Reg piston
Polish the Hammer and Valve spring ends

Check for wear on Hammer insert

Kind of loosing my gravity at the moment. Most likely I forgot to mentioned some important things, Please feel free to chime in ;)

FX  FX Barrel/Liner Problems - with picture

This is for a FX Maverick Sniper. When first got it the groups were decent but after several thousand pellets the accuracy started going down getting worse every day. I put a bore scope in it the first time tonight and was amazed at what I found. About 5 inchs from the front of the barrel there were very deep abrasions that went all the way around. On the outside of the liner you can see to dark rings/ridges around it. The problem is between those ridges. I say ridges because the are a larger diameter than the rest of the liner. When I put on a carbon fiber liner i actually had to sand down that area to get the carbon fiber to slide over. Please look at the picture and give your thoughts on how to proceed with this problem
Thanks
Dave

Crosman  Vantage NP .177

This is my first ever gas ram rifle. Not 100 percent sure what to make of this tech just yet. The bad stuff out of the way quickly....ups gave a terrible delivery experience(nothing against the gun there), the scope is what I expected, and what the reviews said it would be.
1000002568.jpg

The look of the rifle is plain. But good. The dovetail seems to be aligned rather well. No scuffs, scrapes or dings upon inspection. LOP is a good fit and the ambi cheek riser is better than I thought. Shot cycle feels very strong, and is definitely different to a spring gun. I ran it over the chrono after having put about 100 shots through it.
Screenshot_20240601_191321_Chrome.jpg

About what I expected with heavy ammo. Pretty consistent for not being close to broken in. Total spread from 814-826, most shots are around 818.
I tried the scope. I went through all the same procedures as I would setting up a nice scope....I have removed the scope. Original open sights are usable, but I would prefer only fiberoptic on the front. Atm I mounted the williams peeper out back. Still getting the gun sighted in, and I have only tried the 1 kind of ammo atm.
From the looks of everything, this is the same as my cabelas outfitter with gas ram instead. Which makes the stocks interchangeable between those 2 models, as well as the Remington summit and a few others.
I have bearings for the trigger mod coming Monday. Currently I have removed the first pin and trigger spring to lighten it. The bearing will take out the play it currently has. Overall I think it will come together quite nice.
Once I run a few more types of ammo through and see what groups the best I think I will want a scope on this to extend my reach since the power is there.
Some guys might wanna throw shade at the budget rifles, but really for a little more than 100 bucks....it looks decent. Feels good in hand, should put std. Weight 177 pellets right in the sweet spot for in flight stability in that 850-875 fps range. Not a lot to complain about.

Nomad ll air compressor Stoped building air pressure

Well, mine stopped building air last week. It will run but no air pressure building. Like the other guy I called the number in the owner manual, they sent me a parts diagram and asked if I wanted to send it to them for repair. I have only found one rebuild video for that compressor. Do you think i should order another one, maybe a non-name brand would be better. I would rather spend $300 on a no-name brand so in a year if it goes bad it’s only $300. Any recommendations on a good no-name brand, 4500 psi portable pcp compressor.

An experiment I would like to see

Hot rodders know that a very smooth surface inside the intake maifold of engines is less efficient than a rough surface, so they grit or bead blast the interiors before using. I wonder how much different pellet velocity would be between as manufacured pellets and those with bead blasted heads? Just a random thought.

Hello from Tx/Tn

I took about a 6 year break from pcp airguns but now I'm back to learn more. Great forums yall have here. I came from gatewaytoairguns, the yellow forum, marauderairrifles etc.
Sold my house in the burbs in Texas and I'm looking for property in E Tn so maybe I'll see some of you around : ).

Currently shooting:
- Marauder .25 with a lot of valve work and SSG. 3 mags from 2900 fill @ 865fps ES 40 sd 19. Doped to dial out to 100y
- Waiting on shipment for Uragan 2 from Tony in .25 cal. Will be a hunting set up ~910 fps
- Kid's diana stormrider in .177
---- I regret selling my Taipan Mutant in .22 after losing interest in airguns

Brocock/BRK  My Bad Ass Brotherhood of BRKs…💥💥💥💥

They all get along nicely and are nicely compact and comparable in footprint to each other. Any of these four could comfortably serve as my primary for what I do with my airguns. I feel comfortable taking small pests, in good conditions with my Atomics out to 40-55 yards. The Pathfinder stretches that to 60-70+ yards. And the Ghost is capable to 100+ yards. I consistently hit, small rodent head size targets, out to 64 yards with my Atomics and plink with them and the Pathfinder out to 102 yards regularly. I get enough consistent hits on my 102 yard targets to simply confirm the awesomeness… The Ghost is the newest sweet addition to the brood. She is the Queen and the Pathfinder may be a little threatened but the sweet Atomics are undaunted. The Atomics are simply a joy to handle and shoot, nicely light and deceivingly deadly on small pests. The Atomic with the UTG red dot is light enough for small kids to handle and punish cans with…

Atomic XR #1 Arken Zulus 3-12x
Atomic XR #2 UTG-op3-micro-sls-red-dot.
Pathfinder XR: Aztec Emerald 6-24x-50 IR SF FFP.
Ghost XR Carbine: G1 Athlon Helos 6-24x-50 IR SF FFP.

Did I mention I love my BRKs and feel extremely fortunate to own such a quad of sweet PCPs… 🙏

Brocock/BRK  Brocock and FX

Posting in case this anecdotal feedback helps someone make a decision.

We are users of PCP air rifles (and we have a springer!) for pest control, as a business. We have quite an assortment -- Edgun, FX, Brocock, KalibrGun, and Weihrauch (the springer). I enjoy shooting these rifles on Sundays and have shot very many pellets and slugs through all of them.

After lots of testing, tied for first are (drum roll): Our Brocock Sniper XR, and the FX Crown Continuum. The only negatives on both of these is, the need to treat them with kid gloves, as they seem to be precision instruments, like watches. We are kind to our tools and transport all of them cased, but these two rifles seem exceptionally well-built, but delicate.

In second place is our monster Kalibrgun Argus 45 in .30 cal. We use this for larger animals.

My first air rifle was a Daisy BB gun. I wish I had known how capable air guns are, earlier in life. I can do as much with these PCPs as I can with my .22s.

Cheers
