Weather station for the range...

I've found that a small weather station is a convenient accessory for the shooting range.

I'm fortunate to have a shooting range in the backyard. Being retired, I shoot whenever the mood strikes me but when testing and tuning I prefer calm conditions.

Watching for a calm period required me to get up to check the wind flags. My wife (probably tired of me jumping up and down all the time) bought me a small weather station to save me running to the window every couple of minutes.

The unit works great, it's inexpensive, easy to install and convenient. I can see wind and temperature on the wi-fi connected display on my table.

Thought it might be something you would be interested in.

Cheers!

Post your five groups of five shots each at 50 or 100 yards

I would love to see accuracy results of different air rifles (and shooters) at 50 and 100 yds (or more) so hopefully this catches on and you guys post your results so I can see some awesome shooting out there!

I normally am shooting 13.43g JSB knockouts at 1010 FPS / 30 FPE but I needed to knock that way down for backyard plinking so I picked up some heavy 16.2 grain JSB Exact Beast pellets in .177 and tuned the low power on the pulsar to shoot these at
416 FPS / 6.2 FPE and they're shooting one hole groups 15 yds even though they're moving slow as hell. So then I figured I'd try them out at higher speeds. I haven't put it on the Chrono yet but I set the Pulsar to medium power which shoots the 13.43 grain slugs at about 973 FPS and I'm going to have to Chono these things see how fast they're moving but they're grouping great.... here's my five groups of five shots each at 52 yards.

PCP Rifle  WTS Daystate Tsar Svyatorad .177 PCP

I have a Daystate Tsar Svyatorad available that I purchased off this site in 2022. It is .177 PCP with a 6-24x50 FFP Blackhound scope on it, Huggett moderator, hamster and butt hook. I have done nothing to this rifle except this winter it was leaking and I sent it to a member on this forum who is familiar with these rifles and he replaced several o-rings. It now holds air again. The scope has a magnetic focus ring that can be detached. Everything is adjustable to fit the shooter, pistol grip, cheek pad and butt plate. Two stage trigger is fully adjustable.
Everything else is as purchased from the original owner. He had a Huma regulator and plenum installed by Airguns of Arizona and had them tune this rifle with several brands and weights of pellets. See pics of test target. I am currently using 9.54gr QYS pellets and they are very accurate. With the Huggett moderator this rifle is whisper quiet. Origninal owner installed a felt pad on the hamster bottom and it is still on there.
This rifle is far more accurate than my skills and will serve someone shooting FT for many years. I just need some cash to pursue another project. Sorry but I don't need any trades at the moment.
Sale will include the rifle, moderator, Blackhound scope, original regulator, fill probe, full o-ring replacement set, hard sided plastic case, manual, test target from AOA.
$1800 includes S&H to lower 48 or local pickup is available in New Berlin, WI. I can take Venmo, PayPal or Postal Money Order as payment.
Call or test 4144691626 with any questions.

This is the pic from original ad when I purchased. Scope was not included in the sale but everything else is what you will receive including the Blackhound scope as described above.

New design AEA Pellets update & comparison to old design

Morning yo all,
As you all know it, or not, AEA changed pellet design, I finally got my hands on batch of new pellets and I had old pellet design as well, went out and tested, little bit confusing results, new design pellets not doing so good, maybe they need more speed or tune, but apples to apples bad news, here is the video I made comparing pellets 60, 80 and 100 yards.

HW/Weihrauch  One out, one left to sell and one incoming. That's my last air rifle. For real this time.

This week I sold my R8. My R1 is still up for sale in the classifieds and someone with a Hw50 found my WTB on the classifieds. The Hw50 looks good and the deal is pretty much set. The classifieds here work.

The Hw50 will bring my Weihrauch count back to 13. When the R1 sells it'll bring me back down to a more comfortable (for me) even 12. It's hard to even justify 12. Only 2 are used with any regularity. I'll occasionally rotate a third in there. I should probably sell a couple more to get down to a nice even 10. I could live without my 97 but I can't think of another one I'd sell at the moment.

I'm looking forward to softening up the 50 and putting peeps on it. It'll be a slightly bigger version of my favorite Pellet rifle. My peep sighted Hw30.

They poured the cement for my outbuilding /shop yesterday.

Be well all

Chairgun elite+ Bug?

I found this weird bug in the Chairgun graph where it does not match with the table or the main screen firing solution. The graph is interactive so if you slide your fingers on it will tell you the dope for that distance. Hopefully the pictures will make sense of what am saying, could someone check their Chairgun to see if it also happens to them or it’s just mine. Thanks

New Composite/Carbon Fiber Stock For Airforce Condors

A Diamond in the rough. "Naked" Composite/Carbon Fiber stock for the Airforce Condor & Condor SS , Right now without hardware and recoil pad the weight is 775 grams./ 1.7 lbs. The design uses my recoil block mounting system, which transfers recoil force from the AF barrel chassis directly into the stock avoiding the infamous AF flex like no other stock.

I made a lot of refining changes from my old wood stock design with new butt and grip shapes.

A bit of work still left with prepping it for paint, which I have something new coming there that I am excited about.

Tuning  Bulldog Taurus 257

Setup this Bulldog Taurus BR build for an AGN member, this was a 357. Machined lower with custom trigger assembly, 28 inch 257 1:10 RH twist hammer forged barrel harmonic balancers between barrel and HM CF shroud, tensioned barrel sytem. New valve assembly machined for the 257. cal. Fore stock and rear pictinney rails, 20moa scope rail. Kstyle butt stock, AR grip assembly. 2 tone Duracoat finish in black oxide and dark blue. Weighs in at 11.3lbs She makes 187FPE with 110g Mr hollowpoint slug at 3300psi. She will make 201fpe with a 117g Mr hollowpoint@3500psi. She loves the 110g. Initial test accuracy is very good same hole at 50yds, nickel size group at 100yds. The space in front of trigger gaurd is for custom fit blocks to allow shooter to add weight if desired while fitting within the Taurus size frame. I made 2lb., 5lb. so far. And she is quiet as a cat on a rug imho. Simple, effective shooter.

Air Venturi  Is the avenge x worth it?

Is the avenge x worth it? I’ve watched many of the great videos of this gun on YouTube and it seems pretty good. I’ve had an avenger I loved it, I currently have a Notos and absolutely love it. As an air gunner I clearly needed more guns. I’d like to hear your thoughts on the avenge x. ps. I already ordered it so please tell me it’s good and I made a good purchase 🤣

N/A  Bug a salt Shredder for Spiders

Was shopping for a spider removal tool and found this one. Looked more practical than a flame thrower or BB shooter.

Large lethal range for spiders. I hate spiders. Seems safer than a flame thrower or BB shooter so I have that going for me.

Showed up today, going to take it for a spin this weekend.

Spiders beware.

Another New Member

Hello All, just joined although I've been lurking for a bit now. Thinking of getting a PCP for squirrels. It's a been a long debate that I'm having with myself between getting a 22lr or a PCP. Finally decided on PCP since I'm in CA and it's hard to find non lead bullet for 22lr.

Just looking at the many options for PCP, compressor and even chrono and trying to decide which first PCP to get. Hopefully I'll have one to share soon with y'all.

My desperate search for a reasonably priced Crosman 2240

Hello all, this is my first post here so please let me know if I’m doing it wrong. I’ve been searching for a Crosman 2240 for some time now and I’ve come to the realization they, along with everything else, are no longer as cheap as they used to be. Ive been wanting to put together a pcp converted 2240 for years now and finally want to pull the trigger (lol) but with everything’s current price I’m wondering if the build is even going to be worth it to me by the end of it. If anyone has any advice where to look or information that can help me when I start the build please let me know.

MOD EDIT: GATHERING INFORMATION ABOUT A BUILD IS FINE, LOOKING TO BUY ONE OUTSIDE OF THE CLASSIFIED SECTION IS NOT. REMOVED WTB CONTENT.
