Budget Gun Battle!

Hey fellow air gunners! We are putting together a budget gun battle for you. There are so many awesome air rifles these days that we figured we would put together a video of three popular budget offerings and run them head to head. We chose the Lord's caliber, .22 for all three rifles. They all perform extremely well and the results might surprise you!

Of the three rifles we tested which one do YOU think will come out on top? Comment below...

Legality of Florida iguana hunting

One thing the article didn't touch on was the discharging of air guns or firearms in different jurisdictions. But, its good to read of the sensible laws regarding the taking of invasive species.

PCP Rifle  WTS FX Panthera Hunter Compact in .22

Hello,

Intro:
My FX Panthera Hunter Compact in .22, I currently have this air gun set up to shoot H&N Slug HP in .218 21gr at 900 FPS (Remember, this is a 300mm barrel). I get about 60 full regulated shots before it falls off the reg. See groups below. I'm positive I could have shot this better if I put on a better scope with higher magnification. I currently have a DiscoveryOpt 2-12 HD SFIR scope on it with a Monstrum cantilever mount which IS NOT INCLUDED. Bubble level is also NOT INCLUDED. If you want the scope and scope mount, add $150.

Why sell:
I bought an Airmaks Krait in .22 and it fits my needs better.

Mods:
Per the previous owner, he stated the AMP reg failed, then he upgraded the reg to a HUMA reg. Carbon Fiber bottle was upgraded to the Omega 480CC CF bottle (I get about 60 shots with the tune). The tune for the H&N Slugs HP.

What's included:
FX Panthera Hunter Compact in .22, 1 OEM magazine, 1 Orian Magazine, manual, old AMP reg, some orings (Not sure what they are for), FX Gun case

Price & Payment method & Shipping:
$1300, PayPal (Preferred F&F. If you rather use goods & services, you'll pay the additional fees), +$25 shipped CONUS.

What’s your favorite target?

I do shoot for groups using the usual paper and do hunt with my air rifle. This is a question for what else we can shoot at? Here’s my favorite , I’ll usually glue them down to the large popsicle sticks and spread them out at varying ranges. The kids love this type of shooting.

Optics  SOLD Selling Hawke Sidewinder 6-24x56 - True mil-dot at 20X

I’m going to try out a digital scope. I’ve had this scope for 4 years now. Never let me down. It comes with the original Hawke hardcase carry case. Has a small ding.

6-24x56. Has a side wheel.

The ChairGun app works in tandem with the reticle. All you do is plug in your info and shoot. It has the same reticle as shown in the ChairGun app.

I will NOT be including the pic rail FX no limit mounts. Bubble level included.

Gamo  Better than expected tune up

I had been neglecting my gamo varmint 177 since I got my first PCP. Was reading about someone else who was messing around with a break barrel and decided, why not break out mine. Grab some pellets and headed out. Cracked it open and cocked it and remembered why it's been neglected. It's got a crunch of spring sound when cocking. Unruly recoil. And the twang it makes after being fired. Yuck

Having had another break barrel with similar issues and having fixed that one I felt confident in attacking this one. So I opened it up broke it down and added thin plastic shims around the tophat and the spring guide and inside the spring cylinder. Lubed up a few places and put it back together. Broke it open, cocked it and complete silence. Not a sound except the click of the sear engaging. Okay well that's way better than expected. Fire off a few pellets and zero twang. Also I have no way of knowing how much recoil was reduced but it seems like about half as much. With the reduction of recoil my accuracy has improved as well. Funny how when it's not trying to jump out of my hands I can hit what I'm aiming at.

Any way I just wanted to make a post about tuning up a gamo varmint and to let others who might own this same rifle and maybe want to the same, it is absolutely worth it. It is super easy to do and I would be happy to help with specifics should you have questions.

Happy gun, happy hunter

RTI  RTI Mora @ 50 yards !

I achieved something yesterday that I've never achieved before. Today with the RTI Mora .25 cal I posted three exceptional (for me) targets. I need to say these were all shot indoors so it's not something that I would expect in a real world scenario. However, I've never shot scores this high before at 50 yds.

This .25 caliber 700mm Mora / AEA 29.5 grain pellet combo, shooting at 975 fps, is absolutely spot on.

Two targets using the AEA 29.5s shooting at 975fps and one using the AEA 33.9 shooting at 935fps. There difference is demonstrable.

Optics  WTT Tract Toric 4.5-30 for something lighter.

For quickest response, please text Robert @ 865-773-2255. I've been asleep on the forum for a while, but it's still me. Been shooting matches at my local club and got myself a Tract Toric 4.5-30 as my glass, I'm only shooting out to 600 most of the time so I feel like my choosing of such a heavy scope is slowing me down. I do however feel like this scope would be an excellent candidate as an air rifle scope that's why I'm here. If someone has something like a NSX or NX8, or any other lighter weight offerings roughly in the same ballpark in terms of value and would rather have what I have, please reach out to me. I have tons of feedback on TacSwap, under the same username if you'd like to look me up. My Scope has the MOA ELR reticle, I really don't care if yours is MOA or MILs, I will use both. My scope is currently in 34mm Nightforce medium rings in FDE, in case we need to swap rings due to difference in tube diameter. Please text me if interested as I don't get notifications from here. P.S. My scope is not a safe queen, as I said I shoot matches. There are a couple very minor scratches in the finish, but it is all cosmetic. So those of you who are scared of scratches, My scope may disappoint you. for those of you who actually use your equipment, this is a scope for you.

Ruthless Pathfinder XR

My first kill of the day was at 60 yards off the hood of my truck at the trees pictured in the background… I then moved into the building and shot off a rail from 50 yards away. I was murdering them, yes I missed, wind calls, little branches in the way, etc. But I managed to bag thrice the pictured amount. As you can see from one picture the cover was tight and dirty. The sparrow I took inside the hoop house at 25 yards. My most incredible shot of the day was at a range finder measured 111 yards. I thought what the heck, conditions were calms and the grackle was at the very tip of the leafless tree. 10 MILS of holdover and down it went. I still can’t believe it happened. And am not saying I could do it again. But it happened and I decided to cap the day with that shot. All kills and misses🙈, sending CPHPs… The landowner informed me that there is a fox preying on the chickens and asked if I would have a go at it. So tomorrow I will pull out the Ghost and send some H&N 23 grain HP slugs at 25 yards and set her up for some night foxing duty…

.30 cal Fx hybrids going crazy…..

I just got my impact m4 in .30 cal….
Picked up an assortment of pellets to try out,

1 tin of Rifle titans 50.61
1 tin of jsb hades 45
1 box of Zan br100 56
And 3 boxes of Fx hybrids at 45

The hades shot okay, we’re hanging up in the mag a bit 860 fps or so
Titans also okay, no hang ups, a bit slower on the same tune 840ish
Cranked it up to shoot the Zans at 860 - wow - VERY accurate. The only trouble is any more than 8 in the mag and it’s hanging up.

Popped in some hybrids same tune - they went crazy - 4 foot spiral - literally all over the place, 940fps.
Dialed the way down to 780”s, same story.

Very surprised at how poorly they did - completely unusable. I thought the whole point was you didn’t need a slug liner for them…..guess not

Huben  Huben newbie questions

Hey, so I ended up coming home from the Indiana airgun show with a new huben k1 .25. I’ve tried it out and realized this thing is a whole different animal. It’s nothing like anything I’ve shot before.
So I have some questions I’m hoping some huben owner can answer for me.
1. I hear these shoot slugs with lots of power and accuracy. Is this true? I hope as that’s my main reason for owning one.
2. What weight/brand slug have you found shoots well in it.
3. I heard somewhere to set the reg at 18 to 20 hpa for slugs. This correct?
4. Does the power adjuster need to be balanced or tuned to the reg pressure? Will it waste air if the power adjuster is too high for the reg pressure?
5. What FPE can be achieved in the 25 cal version without maxing it out and getting a low shot count?
6. I know about potential for jamming the magazine and the inconvenience cleaning the bore. Also the safety concerns. What else do I need to know? I’ve already ordered the ares loading gate.
