  • Question
So many great guns, which 25 should I choose? Niksan or Taipan veteran?

I am wanting a new rifle even though nothing is wrong with my Hatsan 44 in 22 cal. It is a rabbit killing machine out at my desert compound.
My new rifle will be a 25 cal and I am trying to decide between the Nicksan Ozark, and the Taipan Veteran II. Both look amazing for my use. I have 42 acres so neighbors aren't an issue.
Most of my shots are no more than a 100 yards maybe a little more. Any opinions would be welcome, thanks
Terry

Beaumont Grizzly .22 , opinions needed

Hi , I'm looking for a PCP a bit different from the well-known brands . So I wonder if a Beaumont Grizzly in .22 , 110 Ft/lb could be worthwile to get. I didn't find a lot of reviews on YouTube about this gun , so I should need some help from guys who own one ; accuracy , reliability , maintenance .....how does it compare to other high priced airguns ? It will be use for long range target shooting .

So if somebody of you could give me experiences about this gun , I'll appreciate a lot . Due to the cost ( about $ 3200 ) , I want to be sure not to throw my money away ;) .

Thanks

Traditional Rifle  SOLD 3 SIG Sauer Rifles! ASP20, Virtus, and MCX Package deal!

All three SIG Sauer Rifles in this package deal!
All have the original boxes. All have been used but are in decent shape.
Pretty neat to get 3 styles of air rifle in one deal... PCP, Co2, and Springer.

I think the the .22 cal ASP20 is a wonderful springer and I enjoyed owning it and shooting it! There are some light scratches on the right side of the grip.

The .22 cal Semi-auto Virtus PCP is a fun rifle! It's got a small issue though. The fill valve is leaking. I was going to fix it and ask more for this package but, I simply do not have the time. I would imagine a quick call to Sig could get a new Foster fill valve headed your way and replacing it is as simple as unscrewing the old and screwing back in the new.

The .177 cal MCX Co2 powered rifle is a cool one. It uses the 88 or 90 gram Co2 cartridges for propellant. I went through about 6 cartridges enjoying this rifle. It may or may not need a new sealing o-ring. I don't recall the last time I shot it and don't have any Co2 to try it out or include with it.

Also included are 4 magazines and 8 pellet belts! This design, while functional, has been known to jam or misfire from time to time. I experienced this a number of times when shooting rapid fire. I do tend to test the limitations when it comes to speed shooting so, perhaps I was just over stressing the system?

$600 shipped, Conus only. PayPal F&F preferred or add 3.5%.
Rifles will be shipped double boxed in 2-3 separate boxes.

Happy Shooting!

Fx impact M3 recomend tuning for 22 cal 23 gr H&N slug HP

Hello fellow Airgun Enthusiasts. I am new to this forum and this is my first post.

I would like to have a fx company recommended tuning for my FX Impact M3 for shooting 22 cal. H&N 23 gr slug HP.

I have a stock Fx Impact M3 with a 1:24 twist rate line so I can only shoot slugs upto 23 gr (as mentioned on the fx USA website)(https://fxairguns-usa.com/fx-superior-stx-liner-twist-rates/).

I would also like to know different make and weight slugs that would work best for my Impact M3.

Thank you
Talha

Trying different brands NSA and h&n heavies

Sorry this is a picture I just didn't feel like rewriting it from another thread. Also before you read this just know that I am not trying to put NSA slugs down I think that they make a very consistent slugs but I have had better luck with h&n heavies 38 grain slugs in my gun just for reference the h&n slugs are going an average of 1018 fps and the NSA 38.5gr slugs are going an average of 1009 fps.

.25 pellet head size performance comparison

I am about 2/3 of the way sorting through 10 tins of JSB King Heavy MKII for head size. So far, about 60% are 6.37mm, 30% 6.38mm, and 10% 6.36mm. My goal is to ascertain the accuracy relevance of head size to weight. Once I get them sorted bu head size, then I will sort for weight within .10 grain tolerances and see how much better matched head sizes and weights do compared to just shooting from the tin as they come out.

Yesterday, I took my Skout and shot two groups of each head size, without regard to weight differentials, in near perfect wind conditions. The distance was 86.5 yards. As you can see below, the 6.37 and 6.38 head sizes performed much better than the 6.36. It will be interesting to see how they compare when I have the weights matched as well.

Using a Pelletgage for the sorting. Bought it direct last week and received great service.

Wall mounted Gun Rack options for Thumbhole Stocks

I've added a couple of PCPs to my traditional springer collection and am looking for ideas on how to wall mount thumbhole stocked rifles in a rack configuration.
The current rack I'm using has fixed width holders that work just fine with my existing collection.
For the thumbhole stocks, I'm thinking that this style may work: https://www.holdupdisplays.com/products/hardwood-horizontal-fishing-rod-and-gun-rack
Thoughts/suggestions welcome.
I'd rather not relegate the thumbholes to a closet for storage.

Thanks in advance

Spent half a day exercising part of the herd

Even though it is hotter than blazes here in central Oklahoma, I needed to sight in two of my rifles on which I had put new scopes and rings . . . the .22 BSA Scorpion Multi-shot and the .22 Akela. Set up new targets at 28 yards and had alot of fun getting them both shooting their best. Used the FX crony to check the speed and energy of various pellets (11.5s 14.4s and 18.1s) The Scorpion is the only rifle that likes the Predator light weight non-lead pellets. It is currently tuned at around 22 fpe with the 11.5 Predators and the Akela around 26 fpe with the 18.1 JTS. I refilled both rifles to their maximum recommended psi and put them back in the safe. The other rifles looked up at me with a sad puppy dog look in their eye, so I took out the .25 FX Crown and then the .25 Caiman X and put them through their paces. Refilled the Crown and put her back in the safe, but left the Caiman out on the porch in the tri-pod. Gonna wait for it to cool off this evening and try to get a few starlings. All of these rifles are tuned for quiet backyard pesting, so I can pick anyone of them to take out and shoot without problems. That is the kind of shooting I enjoy. Very relaxing. Hardly a bird flying right now. I think they are all trying to keep cool in the shade of the trees and bushes. Only the Mockingbirds, Robins and woodpeckers are visiting the feeders. Tomorrow, I'll work with some of the other rifles just waiting to impress me with their accuracy . . . .22 BSA Defiant, .177 BSA R10, .22 Daystate Air Wolf, .20 Daystate Regal, .22 Air Arms 510S, .22 Zbroia Hortitsia and .30 EVOL Paradigm. Oh, the depths of the rabbit hole! Happy Independence Day to all.

New Skout Epoch in .25 cal 25" barrel

I've picked it up late afternoon today and haven't got much time to play with it.

Tomorrow morning, early, I'll go out and shoot it.
Since I live in a city, nearest place where I can shoot it is about 25 minutes drive away.

Finish looks really nice and looks high quality made.

I've put Delta Javelin 4.5-30 on it on a low rings (only ones that I have for a 34mm scope) and I think I'll need higher ones. I do see a full picture but I feel it's not a natural and relaxed head position.

I usually tune my air rifles late when I have time all to myself (it's 23:20 now in this part of the world) but this thing is a CANNON!

There is no way that I can shoot it in my basement, I'll wake up the whole house.

Regarding that, pressure on both regs seem quite high.
As per manual, for this calibre and barrel length it should be between 800 and 1400 psi, mine is 1750 psi
Low pressure regulator is at 170 psi
Both seem to be too high as far as I understood from the writings and the videos about Epoch

I'm aware that this is a shorter barrel but still pressure is higher than should be by the manual

I'll check the speed with 25 and 34 grain pellets first thing in the morning and I hope that it will shoot really hot so I can dial it down.

Could anyone with a 25 cal share their reg settings?
For both regs

Thanks
Walt

Front focus objective scopes

Hello,
I am going to rant here a bit. I'm new to hft and I'm a left handed shooter. I'm not new to side parallax wheels cause I ran them in prs matches BUT I absolutely hate them for field target. I don't like reaching over or holding the gun with my right hand to run the scope wheel with my left hand. As much as we use the scope wheels it's a pain in backside. I don't like for rifle or pistol. Is there any solid front AO scopes out there that goes down to 10yds. Also, I can't afford Kahles so that's out. Lol. I know UTG makes a 4-16 and 6-24 with a 9 mil dot reticle. How good are those at ranging? I know you will say just get used to it but I just can't.

Thanks
Jon

PCP Rifle  SOLD SOLD Gamo Urban - leaking - $100 plus shipping from West Coast

Gamo Urban leaking from the breech and barrel.
It dumps the air in a few minutes through the barrel and breech.

I tried to open it up to replace o'rings but I could not get out the valve screws.
More details here: https://www.airgunnation.com/threads/screwed-to-death.1292863/

I have attached detailed photos.
I used a Dremel to cut slots in some of the screws trying to get them out.
The valve screws seem stuck.

Inside the moderator it has a 3D printed insert which makes it more quiet than stock.

It comes with a 3D printed single shot magazine and the original magazine.
The original magazine has a small piece of plastic missing which prevents you from using the first 2 pellet slots, but the remainder 8 pellet slots work.

All the parts are there and will be shipped this way.

Need to learn how to work on PCPs

I have to many PCPs The problem is I have the brands that do not normally need work, But after 10 or fifteen years ) rings go bad,
I bought a Mutant with a slow leak , I thought it would be an easy fix, I could not find any forms showing how to disassemble the gun .
Seems like we need a site where each gun is listed and shows how to repair it. I sent the gun off for repair , A day latter my 15 year old Cricket started leaking , I am now looking for (How tos on the Cricket) I got another Mutant I have shot the snot out of it still holding air, I have a Veteran 25 bought when they 1st came out still holding air, I got seven other PCPs , I did put a Oring in my RTI Prophet , But that gun is so simple a monkey can work on it, LOL.
WHERE IS ALL THE BOOKS AND HOW TO POST?
Mike
