Impact M3 Trigger

With the long list of EBR podiums credited to the Impact platform (not necessarily the M3, though), I was quite surprised at how much mush there is on the second stage.

Don't get me wrong, it's on OK trigger...for a bullpup. But certainly not what I was expecting given that podium pedigree. Not match-grade by a long shot, IMO.

So what are you all doing to get a cleaner break?

Panthera Tunes HERE

Hey guys. I got a Panthera and now I'm learning to tune it. It's not a straight forward thing. There are different ways to arrive at your desired FPS. I was struggling, but got some good insight in this thread: https://www.airgunnation.com/thread...22-regulator-adjustment.1289858/#post-1492344

Now I'm ready to collect some tunes! (tuning numbers)

PLEASE POST YOUR FAVORITE TUNES HERE:

18.1gr factory tune out of the box (.22 cal): Power Wheel (Macro) 22 / Micro Wheel: 2.5 / Regulator 85 BAR
This tunes gives me 90 shots at 890 FPS exactly. It holds 1 inch groups at 75 yards, even if your not shooting your best. Super fun tune for plinking with friends.

....still looking for that 25.4gr tune! -Nate

How to Tune a PANTHERA:

* NEVER shoot a Panthera below the regulator pressure.
* NEVER adjust the Regulator above 180 bar.
* Set the Regulator at the lowest possible pressure to achieve the desired velocity.
* Remove AMMO before adjusting Regulator.

Turning the Reg UP:
* You must have more air in the tank than the desired reg pressure, before you start.
With air in the gun, gently turn the allen screw inside the front top corner of the trigger guard no more than 1/4 turn counter clockwise to increase Reg pressure, check the dial, Repeat until the needle reads the desired pressure.

Turning the Reg DOWN:
* Make sure gun is EMPTY of AMMO before you start.
With air in the gun, turn the reg adjustment allen screw clockwise no more than 1/4 turn to decrease reg pressure.
Shoot the gun with no ammo a few times untill the reg pressure stops dropping. That is your new reg pressure. Repeat if nessecary.

NEVER ADJUST the POWER WHEEL when GUN IS COCKED!!!

Coyote hunting question

There’s been more and more coyotes around my neighborhood they’ve been snatching little dogs in backyards. I have several pups as well and I want to do something about it. I’ve never shot at an animal this big before and hope you guys can give some pointers.

1. Would a .22 suffice or is a .25 required?
2. What fpe is ideal?
3. Are Jsb Diabolos sufficient?
4. What’s the best shot placement?
5. Any tips on luring them out?
6. What’s the best time to watch out for them?

Another great day of splitting cards at the 200 yard range.

It was another great day of splitting cards at the 200 yard range. IMHO, the Diablo Rod and Gun club in Concord CA is the best air gun range in northern California. The RSO's and other air gunners are great to be around. I can honestly say that I haven't met a airgunner I did not like at the Diablo range.

I 3d printed a better card holder which holds oversized card stock. Now the cards pretty much stay in place after splitting, or partially splitting them. I also taped on some short wind flags to help me read the winds.

Both top cards took about 12 shots each to split. The top right card was a perfect split, down the middle. The top left card was partially hit and split 4 times! The winds picked up a bit and the 2 bottom cards took a ton of shots to split them.

Like I said, "great day at the range"

My new PCP rifle

Hello everyone, I've finally gotten my Benjamin Marauder .25 cal all set up with a Hawke 3-9x40 scope. I've got 10 different types of pellets in, and I've got my Hill air pump in finally.

I have only shot it about 120 times or so now. A fellow I met gave me a free fill up off of his tank while I was still waiting on my pump. That was enough to get me sighted in at the local range and get a couple groups.

I got the pump yesterday and may or may not be shooting the rifle indoors across the longest stretch of the home (about 23 yards). I'm getting some good groups... I've been using a big stack of magazines taped together inside of a cardboard box and a taget stapled on it. Tested it in the backyard and no way the pellets will get even close to going through it.

So far everything groups fairly well at 20 yards. Nothing shoots much worse than a clover leaf and many shoot one hole to my surprise. I'm very happy with the performance indoors.

The Hill air pump (made in Sheffield, England) is a very fine piece of machinery. It has a very nice finish, is smooth to operate, has nice rubberized handle grips, and went together dirt simple. The thing is built like a tank and it doesn't start getting hard to operate till it hits about 2700-2800 PSI, and even then it's not very hard to pump. The attachable moisture removing element is a great add on that I think is a must. Dry air is always best!

Hunting with expensive gear vs inexpensive gear.

Hi all,

What do you think is more impressive and why?

Personally, i find it more challenging hunting with an springer , than with my high end pcp's with expensive scopes and bi-pods.

I don't know what it is but, for example i really love my small little R7 in .177, with a cheap 4x32 mil-dot scope, taking that one and closing in on the quarry, instead of taking my Daystate Wolverine R in .25 with a 2K Leopold on it and sniping from 100+ yards, it's like almost no challenge, a good bc slug and correct scope adjustments and pull the trigger.

What are your thoughts about this.

How to Turn Power Up in Stock FX PANTHERA .22 (Regulator Adjustment)?

How to you turn the power up, step by step, on a FX Pantera. In .22, it's shooting 18.1gr at 890 FPS, but its already on 23 on the power wheel (highest setting). The reg is at about 85 bar. I'm guessing I need to adjust the reg up? ...so I can shoot 25.4gr at 890.

How do you safely adjust the reg on a Pantera? Please provide clear and detailed instructions. ...like which screw to turn and what direction, gassed or degassed? do you pull the trigger once after you remove the bottle? all that stuff.

Thank you! ...awesome gun by the way.

If you need the 18.1gr tune, or the factory out of the box tune, here it is. Just match this and your 18.1gr will fly exactly 890 for 70-90 shots per fill (I can't remember which, at least 70)

Wind-Indicator Flag …We’re having a parade?

An old deer hunting buddy called me up to ask about “BB-guns” so I invited him over to shoot a couple of different airguns.

His first comment on seeing all the wind-indicator flags on my range was: “We’re having a parade?”

Being a centerfire guy used to sub-30 yard shots in heavy brush he never had to consider the effects of wind on his bullet.

After a bit of practice shooting 1“ spinners, he was totally impressed by the accuracy and the power of airguns (he no longer calls them BB-guns). He liked my HW50 and Crown so I suggested researching the Weihrauch springers and getting used to them before considering PCPs.

It was breeze and after a morning shooting various airguns out to 50 yards he had a real idea about wind drift and an appreciation for the flags.

The wind-indicator flags are quick and inexpensive to make. A coat hanger, 18 inches of flagging tape, 3 inches of 1/8” bead chain and some thread is all you need. Nothing fancy, the only thing is that the bead chain should not be able to reach the vertical wire to prevent tangling and that all the bead chains and flags should be the about same size and weight. I use a bit of thread and some lacquer (nail polish) to secure the flagging tape to the bead chain and once a season put a couple of drops of oil on the chain.

Anyway, I thought I would share my design for those who want to stage their own parade.

Cheers!
