what scope would you recommend?

I shoot in my back yard mostly at targets, from a bag rest at a range of 65 to 70 feet. Using a break barrel that cost under $200 and came with a 4x32 scope. Sometimes I do shoot at a pest or two. Now that I have retired, I find myself using it more but having trouble seeing the target, so I put the scope on. Now I am finding that I have to remove my eyeglasses to get a good sight picture, (both eyes open) Not sure what type of scope to look for but would like more magnification. Would like to keep the price low, (to keep wife happy) and my wallet. I know that will limit my options, but all suggestions will be greatly appreciated Thanks.

Air Tanks  SOLD Scott 30 minute (44 cu ft) SCBA tank $180

For sale is this Scott 30 minute tank with new 300 DIN flow restricted valve and 20" micro bore fill hose. I lucked into several of these tanks that were obviously surplus units (your tax dollars at work). I removed the Scott valve and replaced it with a new fill assembly with a male foster fitting on the tank and fill hose with female fosters on each end and a strain relief the whole length. This tank makes a great compromise between the large 60 minute tanks and the small 90 cu in bottles. This tank is dated 09/07 and therefore past it's "15 year service life". Due to it's age , no commercial business will fill it. You must have your own compressor that is capable of filling a bottle of this size. Use this at your own risk and assume responsibility . I have aired this tank and checked for function , and it is ready to go. Selling for $180 including tracked and insured shipping to the conus. To comply with DOT rules , the tank will be shipped empty . Not interested in trades or offers at this time . Please deal by PM . Thanks for looking. Herb...................PS, this is the last one I have for sale.

Gk1 lasted 4 days !!!!!!

I’ve had my Gk1 four days and now it won’t take air, it had been doing really well. Yesterday I shot twelve rounds at full power without issue, I had 7 mpa of air left, when I got home I noticed the air was gone. I then tried to refill the pistol and it wont take air. I contacted New England Air Gun, they had me turn the power setting all the way off to reset the pistol but it still wouldn’t refill. Anyone else had this issue?

CS4i issue

Need help here peeps. I followed all the instructions. Used distilled water for the coolant. The unit is running off AC 110 which is set properly on the unit. I have the max pressure and requested pressure both set for 300 bar. It was working great for the first 4 hours but after it hit 2000psi it started randomly shutting off the pump. The unit would still have power and the fan would be running but the start button wouldn’t be illuminated green and the off button would be on. If I hit the start button it will start right back up but then it turns off again within 3-15 minutes. It’s not from overheating either because I babysat it today after leaving it shut off for 24 hours and it turned itself off within 5 minutes.

I sent a message to the manufacturer because I bought it direct but I am hoping that I am just doing something wrong. I read all the directions though and I can’t find anything else to do. Also to note. After a couple shutoffs last night I tried giving the grease thing a half turn but that didn’t help either. As always, help is greatly appreciated!

FWB  FWB P8x vs. Baikal IZH 46M

So I derailed the thread about an FWB 65 with a brief discussion on other target pistols. Thought I'd give this it's own thread. I'm fascinated with the accuracy of the 10 meter pistols (and those that wield them as intended, off-hand), I recently got a great deal on an FWB P8x. Already had the Baikal. And a Crosman 1701P. All are great in my short (15 ft) garage range, wanted to try a true 10 meter test so took my two most accurate outside for a death match ;-). To my eye (too lazy to measure ctc and make it scientific) the P8x wins by a small margin. Based on engineering quality and fit, finish, and trigger, I thought the P8x would be a runaway winner but not so...Cheers! Rick

N/A  Airgun maintenance

I rotate and shoot a stable of pumpers and springers. However, I don't track shot count. Is there an easy way to determine when lubrication and other maintenance are required? Should I track the shots taken on each, use a calendar, or do both, or is there another way? I have Daisy BB guns, several pumpers, and several break-barrel springers. Thanks in advance for any replies.

RAW Rapid  HM1000x honeymoon

Thought I'd share my notes...

I'm in the honeymoon period with the .22 caliber HM1000x I got just before winter hit and we are just getting to know each other.

The HM1000x was too much gun to be shooting indoors so today's calm, 50 F weather had me at the shooting bench for the first time in 3 months. 😁

During the initial acceptance testing the PCP preformed well averaging 955 fps for 51.5 fpe with JSB Monster Redesigned pellets.

Ergonomically I found the grip to be too small for my hand, the stock too short and the trigger too light.

I swapped the grip for a larger commercial one which will do until I can make a custom one.

The spacer I made (picture attached) gives me a 13.5 to 15 inch adjustment range for the LOP.

The trigger settled in nicely. I suspect that grease on the trigger needed to be displaced (that's what it felt like was happening) because after a bit of use, the 1st stage smoothed out and the distinction between the 1st and 2nd stages became much clearer. The trigger was factory set at 3.5 ounces which I increased to 6.5 ounces.

I really think that RAW should consider shipping the HM1000x with the trigger set a bit heavier and let the customer adjust it down if they prefer. I'm used to the light triggers on my 10 meter target guns but not everyone can shoot a 3.5 ounce trigger safety.

I'm getting 36 shots from a 230 bar fill then the HM1000x falls off the regulator at 150 bar. I'm considering swapping the 480 cc bottle with the 700 cc bottle from my Panthera to increase the shot count a bit.

Hope this is of interest.
Cheers!

Happy Shooting!

Ridiculous!

I have been dialing in my M3 compact .22 for years. It’s always been good but never great. So about a month ago I went at it one more time to see if I could squeak that last bit out of it because it really is one of my favorite guns. I think I did. So tonight instead of one of my other proven long bombers for picking mice off a 130 yard feeder, I decided to see if this gun was capable of mouse accuracy at that distance at night. I set up and dialed exactly what Strelok said because I confirmed the data I entered was jiving with my gun last week.

This gun is not a night hunting gun often so I had to grab a Pard mount that I don’t use because the unit doesn’t click in very well. But I figured it would be good enough. It wasn’t as you will see in the first video. Two more videos to come to further explain this debacle. Age related or does this type of stuff just happen?

Learning to shoot in the wind.

I have been shooting for a very long time and shooting seriously since 2008. I was blessed with a 25 yard indoor shooting range year round and if I opened the big door a full 70 yards to my fence. There was a house on one side and garage on the other with mature trees. Even though I shot 100-300 pellets a day I never shot in the wind.
Now I live in Iowa. If I don’t go to the range because it’s to windy I will never go. So I have decided to embrace the wind and look forward to just tossing lead and learning what is going on. Reading it and hold over will be like a whole new thing. Then when the wind stops I can hit stuff again.

My gun / Scope and pellet stuff is all sorted out on both my PCP for Hunter class and my WFTF springer. So this should be a fun thing to do. Like learning a whole new skill. I’m really looking forward to it.
