Sorting and weighing pellets for vertical accuracy improvement:

Just finished weighing a tin of 400 JSB .117 Diablo Match Exact Monster 13.43 gr. pellets. Why? Looking for a tighter vertical spread shooting my RWS Diana 48 at a 40 yard target using a bench sandbag rest and 6X scope. I am typically getting 1-1/2" to 1-3/4" vertical spread with a few outliers which could be me or the gun. Horizontal variations are very acceptable within 3/4" average pretty consistently. Here are my pellet weight sorting results from a new tin:

Only 56% of the 400 pellets are within 10 gr. +/- 13.43 gr.; which is surprising as the tin specifically states "Match"!!
29% are 11-15gr. over 13.43 gr.;
11% are 11-15 gr. under 13.43 gr. and
4% are deformed or obvious outliers.
I found this sorting and weighting experiment very interesting, though tiring. Took the 56% to the range and found a very positive 3/4"-1" vertical grouping with 3 targets, each with 5 shots. Horizontal spread actually improved to 1/2" average.
Happy it was not the gun or me; but again surprised how few pellets are within 10 gr. of labeled 13.43gr Match tin...barely over 1/2 tin !

PCP Pistol  WTS .22 Ataman AP-16 pistol with both Long and Compact barrels and chamber-tubes. PRICE REDUCED, now $900

I'd prefer to sell this excellent condition AP-16 as a set with both barrels and chamber-tubes, without optics, for $900 (plus shipping). I could sell the Compact barrel/tube set separately for $175; however will not sell the Long set separately.

AP16 best.jpg

AP16 50 yards.jpg

With the rifle scope and Long barrel set pictured above she consistently averages sub-1" five-shot groups at 50 yards. The Compact set can average sub-half inch at 25 with a scope; sub-3/4" with non-magnifying red-dot sight.

AP16 red dot 25.jpg
AP Compact 25.jpg

The gauge on the Compact set reads much lower than correct, so I depend on my compressor gauge when using the Compact chamber-tube. Otherwise everything about the pistol and both sets are in perfect functional and cosmetic condition, with no other problem or issues of any kind.

The pistol will come in the original box with papers, fill-probe and two magazines.

Feel free to call me for more information or questions.

Thank You,

PCP Rifle  SOLD Father's Day sale! Pinty QM23 Bullpup $200 shipped!

Like new. Minor cosmetics like the pressure dent above the trigger on right side. I received it that way. Scope rail has a mark on it from a flashlight attachment i had on there. Not really anything else on it that I see.

I added an aluminum sleeve inside the shroud to cover the vent holes. The air stripper on the muzzle vents to that area and blows put the vents. Dumb design. The sleeve made it much more quiet. You hear the action over the report now.

Comes in original box with all the stuff from the factory. Holds air perfect. Hasn't moved since I shot it a few days ago.

Looking for an Airgun Collector

Hello. I hope this isn't breaking any rules. I see that there is a Classified Forum, but I don't have the time or knowledge currently to try to sell individual airguns. I need to sell around 80 airguns. Most of them are antique, and I know enough to know some of them are quite valuable. I'm looking for someone who might be interested in buying part or all of this collection. It would have to be someone from the Pacific Northwest, as I also don't have the time to pack and ship that many guns. We could and probably should do any exchange with law enforcement present, just to be sure everyone is on the up-and-up. I am starting to catalog and value these airguns now. If you are interested or can point me in the direction of individuals or entities that might be interested, please let me know.

PCP Rifle  SOLD Leshiy Classic excellent w/350mm .177 and 350mm .22 barrels + many extras

Price reduced to $1250 shipped: Leshiy Classic serial number 4220 in excellent condition with 350mm barrels in .177 and .22. Has never leaked air, never been disassembled, never malfunctioned in any way, and has seen little use. It comes with the red detachable butt extension, grip extension, and .22 rotary pellet holder (see photos) and two complete seal kits and a new unused poppet and a two fill probe and an extra grip with room to store a fill probe. (I don't take great photos but I take great care of my airguns.)
The original and reportedly troublesome Edgun digital gauge was replaced with Huma analog gauge before I purchased the gun and will be included (I do not know whether or how the digital gauge works).
Price is firm: $1250 shipped within CONUS.None of these parts will be sold separately. Payment methods will be discussed after both buyer and seller communicate and ascertain that neither is a scammer.

GX CS4-I question(s)

Recently got one and the GX filter and tried to fill with an additional (big golden) filter after the GX one.

The pump does randomly stops anywhere between 240 and 280 bar no matter where the auto stop is set. I already cleaned the check valve and let it run without valve for 4-5 hour to get excess gunk out of it but it keeps doing it. I also plugged it into a separate 20amp outlet to make sure it’s getting enough juice, no dice… it fills a dead head to 300 in 24 seconds though so not sure what’s going on…

I meanwhile tried only the big golden filter and no GX filter, same thing. Then reversed it, meaning only the GC filter and it seems it’s now pumping higher but not all the way to set pressure (stopping at a smidgen below 300) but not sure how an additional filter could cause this (doesn’t cause any issues with a YH…)?!

When I used only the GX filter and it went up to 300b I also noticed that the water tank was getting fairly hot. I could keep my hand on the plug for like 5 seconds but then it became too hot to keep my hand in the same spot. Topping off a 6.8l from 240 to 300b so running for maybe 30-45ish min?! Since this is my first GX I don’t know whether that’s normal?!

Hoping you guys have ideas and can enlighten me, sorry if this has been asked before but a (admittedly quick) search didn’t provide any results. Thanks in advance!

Brocock/BRK  Brk Sniper..what a rifle!

There's been a lot of threads on here praising the Brk Sniper, maybe even one written by me, but I had to write another.
We airgunners are a fickle lot, what trips our buttons one day, may hold no interest at all the next. Sometimes, like today, I get to working on an airgun that just drives me crazy. My buddy's Avenger suddenly stopped shooting fantastic and I can't find a single thing wrong with it. Sometimes you start thinking, "is it me"? Sometimes you need to walk away and clear your head and go back. BUT, sometimes, you need to pick up a "known quantity" and shoot it to get your confidence back and get your head on straight. That "known quantity" for me, is the Brk Sniper 22HR I have. I don't care what scope is on it, what ammo you tune it to, or how long it has set without being used, you can pick it up and instantly start hitting the EXACT mark it was sighted in for....EVERY TIME. I must say, of all the airguns I've owned, shot and worked on, this is one steady, reliable performer. I've had, probably four or five, Snipers in two different versions, magnum and std, and all have shot well, but this one is special, it is the most accurate airgun I believe I've ever owned (and I own some shooters, for sure) and I bought it right on here a long time ago. Whoever sold it to me, and I can't remember who it was, did me a huge favor. I've shot this gun more than any other and I know it's going to hit what I aim at. With pellets, at 100 yards, resting off the bed of my truck I can do 1-1/4" groups, not bad for me.

My one question is...why are so many in the classifieds and why don't they sell better than they do?

N/A  Swing and a miss...

Put a bid on a Diana 34 on an online auction site and missed the winning bid by less than 15 bucks. It was probably a good thing since I drew a couple special hunt permits and had to buy some tags I wasn't planning on buying quite yet. Dang, hunting is getting to be a rich man's sport. I about gagged when I saw how much an out of state elk and antelope tag was.

Umarex  Notos first shot is off

I have my Notos zeroed for 25yds. The max I can shoot in my yard. My problem is the first few shots are way off in the mornings or after the gun has sat for a while. Usually to the right, with no change to elevation. I was thinking a slight leak on the regulator but the elevation doesn’t shift. After a few shots it groups back up nice and tight. What is the problem here? I put a picture of the group below with a corn kernel from my squirrel feeder death trap for reference.

Resources  Mac1 USFT shooting techniques???

Hey guys,

Say I am planning on my first field target match, well first one in over 10 years, down in the twin cities. Was able to talk my wife into allowing me to shoot the match while we are in town ........ for her birthday :D Gotta say I love this woman as she lets me do things like this, though I am sure it will cost me some how. lol

But I have been shooting this rifle and while the rifle will shoot lights out all the time, I just can't seem to get anything repeatable. Having issues mainly with the bolt movement, and getting things lined up on target. Then the off set grip has been taken quite a bit to get used to and not twist the rifle when shooting. I am really wanting to keep the rifle and to keep shooting it, but I just can't get comfortable behind the rifle! Do you guys have any ideas or tips to help with the comfort of the rifle?

I really don't want to move the rifle down the road to the next person, but if I can't get comfortable behind the rifle I may end up selling the rifle......

Any thoughts or help?
