I’m in the USA but I still find the sub12 stuff interesting.

Purchased my first order....says it is reusable; first cleaning worked great; however on my second after soap/water cleaning/air drying, the foam tip tore up...used in the bore of

Took my wife on a 21 mile tandem bicycle ride out to the Ashokhan Reservoir for Mother’s Day. The little Pathfinder would win out for what I do with my airguns…

I bought this rifle used from Utah Airguns a couple of years back on a whim. Just wanted to see what an Ataman shot like.

For my current backyard shooting with friends, I like an airgun which shoots like a scalpel. And to me for some reason this one shoots like a hatchet. Not that it is tuned too high (chrony numbers I have shows excellent accuracy of 18.13's at 953 fps). It is not too loud,as it is very backyard friendly. The trigger is smooth, clean and quite light. Yet somehow it feels like more of a hunter/pester to me, and I just shoot paper on my 25 yard backyard range any more. So this Ataman doesn't leave the gun rack in my study, and needs to move on.

It comes with the 2 magazines, the slip-on muzzle device (brake?), fill probe and owner's manual as shown in the pics. There are 2 small blemishes I find in the soft touch stock (which is nice and solid - likely wood and not some hollow plastic), shown in the close-up pics.

Also, it comes with the 2 non-functional magazines I received with it. It looks to me like they are just missing the little spring which holds the magazine's release lever. Likely something which you could find at a local hardware store, but I never shot the gun enough to go that far.

I noted this morning that the rifle's pressure gauge is off - reading LOW. It only showed 50 bar but when I went to top it off to test dry-fire it, it actually had something like 200 bar in it per my compressor's gauge. When I took it up to 3,000 psi (it is 300 bar working pressure), the on-gun gauge showed 100 bar, not the nearly 300 bar it should have shown. SO YOU CANNOT RELY ON THE GUN'S BUILT-IN PRESSURE GAUGE.

While changing out the Bottle on my Avenge X. I blew out the Burst Disc that is rated at 6K. Pressure in the bottle was less than 4K. What could have caused this.
This is the second Burst disc while doing this.

I own one of these in .22 cal, and at this price I would buy one if I didn't already have one. Great shooter - accurate, reliable, lots of shots per fill, really comfortable to shoot (I like the stock extended behind the action compared to the other Cricket 2's), and accurate as all heck. Not the lightest but not bad and I mainly shoot off the bench. Really easy magazines to load, although the cocking/loading action can feel a little notchy unless you get the mags adjusted right. This gun must not be selling well for some reason. But to me it is a little gem which is significantly discounted during this time when other airguns seem to be increasing in price.

I THINK, I KNOW what's the better caliber for feral pigeons — but then, my wife tells me that I'm not always right when I THINK I'm right.
So, please, correct me or enlighten me at least.


I am aware —
and blatantly disregard —
the disadvantages of the .30cal over .22cal. Here in no particular order:
▪ more danger of damage apart from damaged pigeons
▪ less shots per charge
▪ louder
▪ more expensive per shot



Now, I am looking at shooting the .30cal with an MV of 540fps — for a ME of 32FPE — so, very low velocity, very low power for a .30cal.
That should eliminate the disadvantages of noise and low shot count.
▪ What about the danger to stuff other than pigeons?
▪ The trajectory is rather loopy, so my PBR is only 36y (33m) short. My largest distances are 60y, typical is 25-45y.

The advantage of the .30cal — using the JSB 50.15gr dome at 540fps MV — hitting pigeons at 50y with 25FPE (473fps):
▪ a bigger hole in the pigeon = equates to quicker kill and on marginal shots, a kill at all.

Is this correct thinking?

I have a vulcan 3 30 cal 700mm up for trade. I got it in a trade, fixed all the leaks and shot it a little. It's sending 54.5 hsa slugs @1015fps with more to spare. It's accurate. I probably have near 1000 rounds or more of the aforementioned slugs to go with. Has a700cc bottle on it and I have a AGT 500cc. Someone needs all this power, I don't. That's the good, now the bad.
The screws that secure the plastic cover/cheek rest are stripped, the pictures with the pen shows what I'm talking about. I have the screws, not sure if I have all of them. There's plenty of material if you wanted to drill and tap for the next size up if you wanted. It doesn't affect performance in any way and the cheek piece doesn't move, it's actually a pain in the neck to get off. So if you made it this far I'm looking for a higher end .177 or .22 PCP rifle.

I have two repeat customers that love two projectiles for their guns:



Problem is, both of these slugs do not consistently fill out past .002" of spec. I have other moulds that do not have this issue.
The .252 is being shot out of a K1. Variance is .252" - .2535". The owner is using silicone grease to keep them in the mag!
The .455 is having the same problem in a Rattler. However, it feeds the slugs reliably.
So my intent is to pilot these slugs with the same customers, hoping to add .001" diameter to each side, thus fixing the consistency issue.
If I am successful, and the slugs fit reliably with the same accuracy or better, I will offer this service to my entire product line.
So far I'm starting with red powder coat. I've read that turquoise and green are other good colors. I've done the homework online, but no question there is a learning curve in the real world.
Seems like the only other airgun slug maker I know of that offers powder coating for airgun slugs is ZAN and AEA. ZAN priced their hyper line 43% above traditional slugs.
We'll see how it goes in the coming weeks.

I made a Gun Specs Table for the Zbroia brand, for anyone interested.


To me, it seems to be a lower high end brand: good quality, at a reduced price.

Since I assembled this for my Peruvian airgun buddies, please excuse my Spanish. I'm sure most of the specs a self-explanatory as they are just numbers....
