Whats the longest shot youve ever taken and with which airgun

What's the furthest shot you ever hit on target. Could be a target or a animal. I only use sub 12ftlb air rifles so don't see the true power and potential of these air rifles and air guns. Maybe the uk guys using FAC air rifles and USA guys using your unlimited power & anyone else can tell me what the longest shots you've ever taken and your favourite rifles to use. Springer or pcp or co2.

Traditional Rifle  NLA Turkish Tomahawk .22

Bought 2 of these back in 2016 or 17 and got really nice wood on both, gave John in Pa the nicest one to tune this one. Not sure what all he did but it cocks super smooth, know he polished loading port and what ever he did with spring etc. Scope/rings not included. This gun is very accurate with 18.1 gr JSBs, nickel size groups at 32-40 yds. Ive head shot a bunch of squirrels with it out to 40 yds. Has a very nice walnut stock one of the nicer ones.. 325.00 sh lower 48

Heres chrony numbers for 10 shots today. HN FTT pellets 14.3 gr.

Joe Shneehagen accident

Read about this tragic event here:

There's also a fund drive here: https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-joe-schneehagen-with-his-recovery

Terrible news, and worrying too. Anyone here know what happened? How/why the air tank failed, etc?

Thanks

Pellets and slugs from the same gun and barrel at 100

With the crazy wind here in spring...I spend mornings until maybe 11 testing what I need to test outside.

This is the latest pellet/slug Thomas shooting 75 pellets on the top group and 100 slugs on the bottom group....no changes except scope clicks. Monsters at around 980 and my new .218 slugs at 850.

I could shoot the slugs all day long as they are just so predictable and great in the wind.

100 yards

This extends the versatility of this gun tremendously.

Modifying West Hinter hight adjustable rings to MOA rings

As you may allready know, if you raise a ring you change the scope angle in relation to the rings. That concentrates the stress of the scope clamps to the edges rather than an even distribution of the pressure over the inside of the ring.
I originally bought these West Hunter adjustable rings thinking they would work for MOA but they have presision locking grooves, that prevent the needed angle change.

Now that I allready own them it's time modify or replace them.
They will need to be solid as they are going on a springer.

20240503_062857.jpg

HW/Weihrauch  Ring modification

My HW97, with an opticaly centered scope, shoots low. (See 5 shot group at 30 yards)
I have since zeroed my scope to it's max adjustment achieving a 75 yard zero.

20240430_213458.jpg

I have a set of West Hunter rings that are height adjustable, but the ring angle is fixed, so that they don't follow the scope angle when one ring is raised. The result concentrates the clamp forces to edge of the rings. That could damage a scope and void its warranty. Reading the warranty with my scope, an Element Helix, it says that damage from scope shims will void the warranty. So I've got to do this right.

So, I have begun modifying these West Hunter, rings to be height, and MOA adjustable.

20240503_062857.jpg

I filed the grooves in the center ring, and trial fit it with good results so far. The remaining grooves in the base grab well.
I will also drill and tap a scope stop screw, which will be adjustable for height then do some testing.

HW/Weihrauch  Most Impressive Of The Bunch!

I've been blessed with many fine airguns and as of late I have been rotating through them in no particular order...going through an alarming amount of pellets....All my PCPs are in mid season form with my Taipan Veteran ahead by a trigger...The biggest surprise and the gun thst impressed me the most lately has been the HW97 .177 tuned by buddy and AGN member LEWIS...tuned to 11.5 fpe with a TBT kit.
He recommended JSB 8.44s but I don't stock them...gave the 10.34s s go and wow! The pictured penny group is around 50 shots at 30 yards off my knee...Just couldn't miss but had to quit...gun got too heavy. Interesting the Veteran and that HW triggers make for some sweet shooting airguns! The dime group was the last group today with the Veteran...just put the scope back on it, a friend was using it on her Vet...10 shots at 51.5yds benched...typical and no sweat for the Vet...but that '97 non bench group from a springer got my attention!

Daystate  Short backyard small things shooting video with my Red Wolf

Hello Airgunners,

Last week I posted my most rewarding trickshot. Fellow airgunner @Perle commented with an inspirational photo.

Yesterday we had a summer day and I had some free time and did not forgot about the inspiration of last week.

I made a short video and hope you all will like it.

Feel free to post your trick shots as a comment too.

Enjoy

Have a great weekend,
Eric

Introducing myself for those who may not know me

Howdy folks, Riddict here. I'm sure some of you might know me if you are familiar with the Off The Shelf Airguns YT show. For those that aren't familiar with me, I've been an airgun collector/enthusiast for 40+ years. I don't modify my guns as I prefer to keep them stock, however I always enjoy seeing what others do! As for what I do on YT, I am not technical or deeply analytic, I'm simply an entertainer who also provides real thoughts and opinions along the way.

While I do review stuff, it's very basic in nature. I'm not one to dive deep into the numbers of things, as I gear myself towards casual viewers. I also like to add a bit of comedy to what I do in order to round out the overall vibe. My goal is to keep things as simple and entertaining as best I can. I have a range of different types of content I do, from straight forward reviews, off the wall challenges, comedy skits, holiday themed videos with skits, etc all centered around this great hobby.

I am not a technical guy by any stretch, even though I do touch on those areas. I like to leave that up to the many great folks out there who can provide the deep dive, technical aspects that the hardcore groups are looking for.

Hopefully this helps folks to better understand what I do and what my intentions are. I'm all about just having fun with the hobby in a casual, entertaining way.

Thanks for reading!

Airgun Depot Mystery Box Opinions

As per https://www.airgunnation.com/threads/airgun-mystery-boxes-live-tomorrow.1311752/, they are doing it again with a much larger available boxes.

So, what are y'all thinking about these? I read through the thread about the last time they did it (https://www.airgunnation.com/threads/airgun-depots-mystery-boxes.1287734/), and it seemed to be pretty worthless. Is there a chance they learned from that, or is history going to repeat itself?

From one point of view, 50/200 is a 25% chance to get something "epic". On the other hand, no one here posted about getting any of the big prizes. Are the desired prizes picked over for employees, friends and family, and everything else goes to outsiders, or do people feel this is on the up and up?
