A Significant Error in the Alpha Wolf Design

One needs to charge the battery. There is an external power supply/charger included. But where did they put the onboard charging port. Way back in a mouse sized hole in the beautiful wooden stock. In there lives ( I think) a female C charging port. You either take Daystate's word for it or verify it with a flashlight. The cord for charging is so stiff that rotating it in the fingers to get the correct orientation so the male end matches the female end is rediculoous. To check to make sure you have the correct allignment you have to shine a flashlight into that dark mouse hole to see how to line up the end you are trying to plug in. Once you determine that trying to put the charging plug into the recepticle is really tough as ther isn't much room to move you fingers, hand. You might think you felt the plug enter the charge port. Well ther is just enough space on either side of the internal port that you can plug into that wooden area and think you are charging...and you are not. Maybe I am just and old crusty PCP er and if some body has found an enlightened way to get that charge cord plugged in...please teach me.
Somebody with a 3D printer could make an adapter that just fits that mouse hole and and is designed so that pushing in the charging end of the wire is guided into the rifle charge port. A tapered mouse hole kind of thing.
Rant is over but seriously?? Did anyone not see this at Daystate?(Hey! I really do love this rifle) Thaks to whoever told me to to try the 34g pellets. It's mad a difference.

Kalibr Tac II magazine cycling problem

What’s going on here? First few times out with this gun it cycled perfect with 8 different mags, this past weekend things got bad. At first I thought it was a problem with magazines, some were cycling flawlessly and some were skipping a couple pellets when cocking, but after much shooting I determined it to be a problem with the gun as I was having problem with all mags. . Is there an adjustment for this? Going to call dealer if I can’t get an answer here soon. Kalibrgun Tac II .25.
Thanks for any helpful informatio!

Reximex airguns

Hey guys and greetings from Finland.

Just got myself my first PCP rifle, a Reximex Throne Gen 2 .25 cal (from a finnish dealer asejaera.fi) and have not fired a single shot yet, waiting for the Vevor PCP compressor to arrive.
Scope is a Scandium C22 3-9x40AO, also got a Umarex TBP 2 bipod which is not visible in the photo below.
Everything seems quite impressive so far.

I live in nice remote enough area so I will have some land to shoot on.
Will probably make some kind of shooting range in the woods.

Why "just" another change

Hello @Michael

Why was the 30 Yard Challenge moved from the General Discussion section over to the Target Shooting Challenges section?

I am very active on this Forum and I have been very active and enjoying the 30 Yard Challenge. Every time that I log onto this Forum the first place that I go to is the General Discussion section to get updated on the current events. Now any updated post about the 30 Yard Challenge is not shown in General Discussion....why? Why make a change when it was working OK?

I will confess that I am probably the only person left here on the Forum that still prefers the Old Original Format.

Thank you,
ThomasT

Another gun choice thread..

Sorry but another gun choice/option thread here. I know some guys won’t like it but what the hell probably get answers and opinions I’m looking for. I am in the market for a pcp rifle. I have used the search button and have been doing a lot of research. I’m looking at 22 maybe 25 caliber that will be used for mostly small game. Squirrel rabbit dove things like that. So accuracy is definitely on the high end of my list. Shots don’t have to be crazy far out like 75 yards but definitely not against that either if I can get a gun with that capability and reliable. I was leaning towards the marauder rifle due to a lot of reviews on it but also was looking at the fx condor or that line of rifles because of a lot of tank and hype. I would say I like the look of the marauder a lot more that the I guess futuristic look of the condor. But looks don’t really matter to me if one is more accurate and reliable. Any input greatly appreciated. I’m currently looking into finding someone near me with these air rifles or others to shoot before I pull the trigger on purchasing. SE WI if anyone around there sees this post. So far this forum has been a great source from me and I see myself on here a lot going down the rabbit hole of air rifles.

My new build for ELR

Actually, a rebuild. I had built a .257 ELR air rifle specifically for the ELR Magnum/Bigbore slug matches such as those at RMAC and EBR. It did great, but new rules at EBR necessitated an upgrade. Also, there have been instances where target distances have started to exceed the 300yds that the gun was originally designed for. The .257 was shooting 71gr slugs at 990fps. The “new” 7mm will shoot 100gr slugs at 1020fps. This is intended to be a 400yd rifle. The object being to hit a 4moa target on the first shot encounter at any distance out to 400yds. If this new barrel is as accurate as the .257 barrel, I'll be satisfied.

Brand new to airguns

Hi, I’m totally new to airguns. I have a fair amount of experience with firearms and hunting. I’m in Colorado and I manage a ranch with a severe prairie dog infestation. Several people have told me that airguns might be a better option than conventional firearms to control them. Their position is that, because of the lower amount of noise and cheaper ammo, airguns would be better.

I’m looking to get a pistol (with a scope) that would be capable of making fatal shots out to, say, 25 yds. The prairie dogs are use to seeing my truck, and I think I’ll be able to get quite a few from the window of my truck. I’ll also get a rifle (also with a scope) that could be lethal out to 100+ yds. I would probably be shooting from a bipod.

So some of my desires/concerns/requirements are that I want to make clean humane kills with one shot; I don’t want to use lead projectiles (trying to keep lead out of the scavengers diets, as there will be scores of dead prairie dogs to dine on, and that’s a lot of lead if I were to use lead). I’m well aware that by not using lead, longer shots will be problematic, so I’m looking for info on how to maximize my success… ie caliber, power, actual hardware (guns), scopes, projectiles, etc.

Also, If there’s a better forum on here that I should be posting on, that info would be much appreciated.

Thank you.

How smart are Squirrels?

So, after living in this apartment for 10 years, i finally thought... why not give the squirrel some food?

This is the suburbs, so we dont shoot them here. There are only about 2 couples in my complex, so an infestation they are not.

I put bout 1/8 cup sliced almonds at the tree roots

It enjoyed the meal. So next i gave it some stale macadamia nuts. Watching from a safe distance, i noticed a gnawed stick amid the roots.
This morning I found that stick at my 2nd floor doorstep. Hmm, it dragged a stick as big as it is up the stairs to me???? {by the way it is 90 degree and feels super humid, but only 30 humid}
Dont know. I took the stick down to the roots along with new nuts.
Guess what i found next to my door this evening.. i am impressed.

Hi guys so I received this in a trade and as much as I really really really wanna keep it and make this a nice project to tinker with (add the bigger plenum, barrel, power block, etc.) but I’d rather just see what’s out there or sell it and get something different.
