Okay guys...as promised here is a video on the Altaros slugs. I never white coat stuff so while we were shooting various airguns, pellets, and slugs, we decided to do a quick test of the 31gr Altaros slugs out of @intenseaty22 RTI Prophet (he did the shooting) with our friend Richard spotting. The distance was ~60 yards. We had on hand an @orion magazine and so loaded up back to back with JSB KnockOuts and Daystate Howlers the first round, and then the second round a different diameter Altaros, JSB KnockOut, and Zan. The results are real world ones. This Prophet had just used for EBR last month.











Our results are what they are. I have heard good things about their regulators from Richard (the spotter in the video).


What do you guys think? More tests needed? What has your experience been with Altaros?

Electronic regulators?


Or at least, electronic assisted regulators. A Google search seems to show that in airguns they are not really a thing.

The problem with current regulators is that the valve closing force in the ‘shut off’ zone is very small and they all creep up to a point when they become fully closed. This may be a couple of seconds it may continue for days. Also the bottle pressure is trying to open the valve and so will influence to some extent, the final pressure. Hence why FX use 2 regulators in series.

Imagine if a small solenoid helped to open the valve and therefore eliminated the mushy area where the valve is almost shut.

Creep would be eliminated as would the bottle pressure influence. Plenum refill time would also be reduced.

I’m sure it’s not beyond the wit of manufactures to make a system that is reasonably small. Depending on the strength of the solenoid, the plenum pressure could be adjusted by a few bar.

I just received a new Wolverine.

I mounted the scope and start the process of alignement.

During the process three times the rifle shot alone. Without touching the trigger. REALLY DANGEROUS.

In one ocation the safety was set and supposedly avoiding to shoot.

I unscrew the "A" adjuster a little bit counter clockwise thinking that could have come too thighten and then the cocking could be barely locked. But honestly I do not know if that is the problem.

Yes. Yes it is.

Glorious accuracy, and just absolutely silly capacity, topped off by being tuned to a slamming 40 ft/lb by Tony at TalonTunes - I can't say enough good about them or this gun - the entire experience was fantastic and I'm loving this setup for my range shooting. Might be a tad fat for spot and stalk or woods hunting, even with the super sexy carbon fiber stock, but if you DO ever find yourself fighting off a horde of rats of biblical plage type proportions, this is the weapon I'd want to have.

turns out my neighbor knows the owner of the golf course, he's going to ask the owner if I could have permission to shoot Hogs on the course at night while I'm not Sleeping..

Took these 2 rifles out today. The 35e .22 I had out last week, couldn’t sight in. Put it on the bench for an adjustment. Today same deal the scope I believe died. I’ll take it in next week for warranty. Probably have 30 Air Max’s, first defect.
I have the 54 Air King .22. Got it when they first arrived. I got a Diana ZR scope rings with it which I stripped one of the 3 locking screws. Broke way premature. Pissed I might of Sotheby’s 10 rounds from the hip and turned into a decoration. A few months back someone posted those ZR mounts. Leary I bought another. My two have different cosmetics, cross my fingers. Yesterday I bought an Element scope. Put everything together today. First time really shooting this gem. I was out a foot and a half and quickly zeroed to 30 yds. This gun is a laser. I’m in total disbelie. Tight groups at 45 yds. And hard hitter. This put a .22 round through 3 cans. Can’t wait for a fuzz ball to come sniffing around. I’m impressed with this Air King. I bought this gun because of Doyle. This with definitely now go in the rotation. Crow

We had a BLAST today. Paintballs from the bench rest for hours with six different guns, and rinse downs with cans full of water and the .30 HP SS MAX
Also built a game where the paintball is moving down a track so you have to hit it on the move, but it needs some major fine tuning still..

I don't understand why cries headshot so much I understand with a lower power gun without hollow points that's the only spot to shoot but for the higher power guys (35 fpe plus) why not take a vitals shot people say headshot is the most humane way to kill and I agree if and only if you hit where your aiming if you miss right around that area or the animal moves it's head then you could hit whatever your shooting at in the ear nose skim the skull or shoot it in the jaw or mouth ( which I have done before luckily it was close range and I was able to make a quick follow-up shot) but vitals on the other hand is a much bigger target that can't move so quickly and will kill the animal just as dead as a headshot it just takes a second longer I take my fair share of headshots to but only when I'm 100 percent sure of my range wind and that the animal isn't going to move other than that I aim for the vitals so just curious of everyone's thoughts rant over.....for now

I used to have .22 FX revolution and .25 fx bobcat. But sold those when I moved and now left with with the .22LR.

The farm where I live has lots of blackbirds, starlings, sparrows and Indian minors hanging around the colorbond shed and fence.

I’m looking at getting another PCP but need it to not leave holes in the fence and shed, any recommendations?

Not sure if a .22 would be to powerful. I did like the power adjust on the fx bobcat but maybe the price being a bit of an overkill.

Anyone here ever had a custom barrel made? I see a couple places that will sell airgun barrel blanks. I would love to have a dedicated slug barrel for my avenger. Even if it's just a blank in the proper OD, the machine work should be pretty simple. Couple set screw points, 2 oring grooves and barrel port hole. Was thinking maybe a 1:17 twist non choked barrel.
