I have achieved 1377 nirvana

"A transcendent state in which there is neither suffering, desire, nor sense of self, and the subject is released from the effects of karma and the cycle of death and rebirth. It represents the final goal of a Crosman 1377."

Bill of materials:
  • steel breech
  • extended probe
  • steel pivot pin
  • threaded aluminium barrel band
  • flat top piston and valve
  • power hammer with brass guide rod
  • wider and polished stainless steel trigger sear
  • marauder grips
  • stock adapter power adjuster
  • folding stock
  • walnut pump handle made by Andy Davies in the UK
  • nondescript chinesium dovetail to picatinny adapter
  • Eotech XPS2-0
  • Fox 600 suppressor
This is certifiably the second dumbest thing I have ever conjured into being and I have absolutely zero regrets about any of it.

Tuning  2nd short video on FX Impact improved target style trigger

Hi
Thank you very much for liking my FX Impact trigger modification video that I uploaded yesterday.

But it was more than 14 minutes video and was not that crisp.

Many viewers asked me to make a shorter and targeted video.

So here you have my 2nd video.

I hope you will like it more.

Regards,

Umair Bhaur

OK, so I did something stupid....

I have the Air Venturi 4500psi compressor. I went to fill my air tank back up to 4500 psi, so I could fill my Texans for hunting today. I hooked it up, closed the bleed valves, turned on the fan, then turned on the compressor. Where stupid comes in was failing to open the dag-blasted tank! ...oops. So I blew the pressure relief valve somewhere at the bottom of the filter stack where the bleed valve is. Now I can not find the instruction manual or any online information about how to reset or replace that valve. Does anyone know where I can get that information without having the manual?

Hong yeng compressor stop working

My Hong Yeng compressor is having a problem. When I go to start it it will spin about 10 times really slow like at 10% power and then shut off. So it starts up but does not get to full power. I think it might me the starter capacitor ? I inspected the compressor and I can spin it freely. I looked at the motor and it does not looked or smell burnt. Has anyone had this problem before?

Brocock Ghost First Impressions

In the three days of ownership of my Brocock Ghost Carbine .22, I can say that so far my experience is a positive one. I think three days make for sufficient time to assess the build quality by sight and feel of the gun’s exterior only and share my impressions here, and share a few thoughts on its power capabilities.

The build quality of the Ghost in one word is this: superb. Now that I'm able to hold it in my hands—after waiting for its arrival at AoA and viewing the available videos of it online—to get a feel of the finish and texture of the materials used, there is nothing I can say to downgrade what I’ve stated above. I’ve said it in another post that its build quality is like that of a fifth-generation fighter (yes, I've seen one up close in the metal at an open-house event at the Air Force base close to me). From the screws, which are appropriate in size for the torques to which they’re subjected, to the muzzle, to the rear end— fit and finish are excellent. Even the entire power adjuster unit itself has quite some heft to it because of the metals used—no plastic can be found on it. If you’re that type of dude, you’d consider it a jewelry piece! Now that’s what I call attention to detail.

The only nonmetal components, again on just the outside, are the cheekpiece and the shoulder pad, both of which seem to be made of ballistic polymer. To put it simply, should I ever run out of air while out on the field with a coyote after my tail, I’d have no problem holding the Ghost from its rear end to use it as a club to whack the animal and have the confidence to use it the next day for a competition.

Now for the manner in how the Ghost hurls pellets. Though the balanced valve is nothing new to the PCP scene, the one used in the Ghost (post-plenum) makes it possible to use an extremely light striking force to knock open the valve. It's also why the power wheel doesn’t provide major velocity adjustments because even at its lowest setting the discharge of air or the length of open-travel of the valve is already close to maximum. The reason for this is that unlike in a conventional valve, there is no high-pressure air behind the valve seat during the closing stroke of the cycle in a balanced valve because behind it is a chamber that is vented to atmospheric pressure; instead, it’s only the tension of the valve return spring that shuts the valve. That said, the OEM hammer spring rate is too high to allow any significant drops or increases in velocity for my intended application, which is to shoot at a low power level (for backyard plinking), and to increase shot count. In a sense, the OEM spring is too stiff to allow it. Even at a very low regulator pressure setting, e.g. 60 BAR, the velocity only drops by about 14 percent from the previous setting of 100 BAR! What’s that look like with a 14.3 Crosman Hollowpoint, you might ask? At 100 BAR with the power wheel set at its lowest setting the average velocity is 825 FPS, and at 60 BAR with the power still at the same setting the average velocity is 726 FPS. To get a wider adjustment range, therefore, I’d have to either swap the OEM spring for an extremely light-tension one or replace the OEM valve spring with an extremely stiff one (or do either of the two and put in a lighter hammer as well). This is also why the Ghost in its stock configuration isn’t very efficient with air if wanting to shoot at low power levels as are some of the conventional poppet-valve-type-equipped PCPs in their stock forms. But if you’ve been paying attention and reading in between, you’d understand clearly the reason for its design, and the one word to sum that up rhymes with “SHOWER.” This rifle is a beast, I tell yah!

It’s so easy to get the Ghost to put out super-magnum velocities because of its balanced valve system, and I think that it has been purposefully designed to allow it to do just that. Now, with the correct hammer/valve spring rate to shoot at medium- to low-power levels, just imagine the shot count one would have that doesn’t require smacking the Ghost’s valve really hard, and with a very low plenum pressure, all with a carbine having just a 300cc bottle. That’s what I’m going after with this gun.

In terms of power capabilities, the Ghost, in my opinion, might be a game changer.

Getting close. Pellet/slug

I don’t have a shooting need for slugs other than my need for the challenge. Left is a four shot single hole group with 34 grain JSB pellets, wheel at 6. right is a five shot group of Knockouts at wheel 7 on my Maverick.
The pellets were hitting right at the crosshairs, the slugs were aiming for the same spot as the pellets so a slight poi.

SOLD Air Venturi Avenger .22

For sale is my Air Venturi Avenger .22, in like new condition with only about 650 pellets through it.

Model Year: 2022 Avenger .22 cal

It has the 2 original mags and single shot tray. I put on a Donny FL adapter that stabilizes the barrel and shroud for better accuracy and it’s definitely accurate. It holds air and I’ve never experienced leaks in it and the regulator doesn’t creep, it’s solid and stays put. I’ve meticulously maintained, cleaned, and lubed this unit and it shoots and shows it. It really likes these Crossman Premier 14.3 pellets shown, so much so that I bought a lot of them!!! It’s currently tuned to a reg pressure of 1,400 psi, 1 1/2 turns in from 0 on the spring tension, and is getting 885 FPS with about 5 full mags.

Rifle = $300 shipped with all original accessories and Donny FL adapter PayPal is preferred

Shipping airguns.

Bought some 2-pack Red Ryder BB guns for my grandkids for Christmas. Went to The UPS Store to ship them; two sets to Texas and one to Minnesota. The UPS Store refused. They told me they won't even ship paintball guns! Not can't.... WON'T! There's no law that says they cannot ship an airgun. Especially one which has a muzzle velocity under 400 FPS. I Then went to a USPS facility and got the same story. Well, The Domestic Mail Manual is researchable online and I learned airguns are not considered firearms and are mailable by law without special license. As are antiques and muzzleloaders. It seems as if restrictions are based on the political views of certain postmasters of certain post offices as to whether things are mailable or not. What a bunch of BS. I suggest bringing your packages to the post office and not declaring what is in them. Tell them it's a spice gift pack or something. I'm just trying to ship my grandkids some freaking Daisy BB guns for Christmas for God's sake! What a frustrating day.

Help please, stuck cleaning patch

Well I may have done something stupid. I was cleaning my new HW110 with a Nappier pull through. On my last pass the patch holder ripped off and patch got stuck about 5 inches from the end of the barrel. I’m hoping someone in here may have a suggestion on removing the patch without damaging the barrel. The moderator was removed before I started cleaning.

Thanks

What Airgun do you have that you would never get rid of for any reason?

Mine is a custom built .25 by Jack Haily (My he rest in peace). That's Jack Haily of the 457 Sledge Hammer Big Bore Air Rifle fame. The gun was given (yes given) to me by his wife Reba at the first Malvern, Arkansas airgun show.. It shoots Beeman Kodiak 31 grain pellets @ about 940 fps for 15 shots between 2800 psi and 1800 psi. That is around 60fpe. Using a little less than 100 psi per shot. Jack was one of the finest gentlemen I ever had the pleasure to meet.
