Umarex Notos vs BRK Atomic XR

Hello All,
Posting this question as I am contemplating the buy of a second pcp riffle to keep company to my Ghost 22 HP.
Was thinking of waiting for a couple of months to get the carbine version of the ghost which would shoot about 30 fpe or perhaps get me a Ranger Xr, atomic xr or even save $ and get me a Notos.
And here comes the question. What makes the atomic xr ( or Ranger) that much more expensive? They both shoot around 20 fpe, they both have the same amount of shots. Is the atomic xr that much more accurate? What am I missing?

FX Panthera 700 22 cal. First impressions.

Just received my FX Panthera 700 22 cal. I heard that The Pellet Shop had some so I ordered it and 5 days later it was delivered. I only shot 1 mag today as it was getting dark and the snowstorm didn't help much. Below are my first impressions.

The Pros:
1. The gun comes in a nice dedicated FX gun case, a good thing, because I didn't have a gun case long enough to put the Panthera 700! Yes, we, in the airgun community, are quite used to bullpup guns that are quite compact considering their relatively long barrels.
2. The gun is long but not too heavy or unbalanced, it feels good on its bipod or offhand
3. The build quality is exceptional, those who have experienced FX guns would know.
4. The plenum is part of the shroud and not visible like on an FX Impact, and even without a suppressor, the gun is quiet enough for backyard plinking. I'll tell you more after testing intensively if my neighbors freaked out... But decent suppressors cost more or less $200, so not needing one is quite a significant saving.
5. The vertical grip feels very comfortable
6. The trigger action is excellent.
7. The butt pad is adjustable and very comfy.
8. The mag is longer than the usual FX mags giving enough room for longer slugs.
9. My gun's reg came set at 140 bar, I only shot one mag today but as is, I guestimate that I'd be able to shoot between 50 to 55 slugs from a full tank. Not bad, but then again, that's why I chose a 22 cal.
10. It looks racy IMO. Very subjective but a good look is important. The Panthera looks sexy as F**K

The Cons:
1. The mag is located under the scope and quite protuberant so there is not much space to put a scope close to the bore. I had to put a riser underneath the 50mm lens scope to clear the mag. FX said that for PRS competitors they will release smaller mags (13 shots I think) to allow a smaller sight to bore gap.
2. The gun is long. If you add a suppressor, even a short one like an Impulse, the gun will be even longer. A 22 cal doesn't need one IMO unless you boost the reg pressure really hard but I'm guessing that a 30 cal would definitely need one.
3. There is no news about spare mags yet.
4. The mag has no locking mechanism like on an Impact M3, so after inserting the mag you can feel a bit of a wobble.
5. I wished the pistol grip came with a thumb rest.
6. The bottle capacity is limited to 300cc. Yes, you can put a second bottle under the barrel but then you lose the MLOK/ARCA rail and the gun becomes much heavier and it does destroy its racy look.

This gun was made to shoot slugs, at high speed (between 950 and 1000 FPS). The lightest slug I'll be using is probably gonna be 30gr and the heaviest will be a 40gr. I'm sharing herewith a pic of a "22 cal Javelin 40gr" and a "25 cal JSB Diabolo King Heavy 34gr" that I shoot with my Leshiy 2. You don't need to be an engineer to see that the former is much more aerodynamic.

Did I get a bad Element Nexus

Hey guys I’m wondering if I got a one off bad Nexus or if my research led me down the wrong road. I purchased an Element Nexus from an authorized retailer the first of December and put it on my Impact 25/700. From the start I have hd a terrible time getting the reticle focused and the eyebox is the absolute smallest of any scope I have ever used. If I get the reticle nice and clear at 20x against a light wall or blue sky and the go down to 10x the reticle fades to nothing and I can’t use it until I adjust focus at 10x. I swapped the scope over to my vudoo that I don’t have any problems with and still had the same issues so I know it isn’t related to my position on the impact m3. I put in a request for help from Element but while I’m waiting I just want to see if anyone else is having this trouble. Thanks.

Snow Day for Atomic XR, starlings down

Took this “baker’s dozen” today, from 27-30 yards. At those ranges, I’m simply not missing them, the Atomic is wickedly deadly at twice the distance. Took 14 shots, downed 13 birds. All this after snow blowing mine and my neighbors driveway. I thought the starlings are probably at it. So drove down to the former dairy. Yup, there they were, two hours later, heading back home. So it was a good day, got home and put my remaining 8 shots into a dime size group at 25 yards. The Atomic went BOOM today, the CPHPs simply devastated them birds.

If you were to build the ultimate single PCP what would your build be ? Gun, Scope, accessories etc

Hey guys,

So, I have a FX Wildcat MK2 .25, and a Daystate Wolverine .177
I’m thinking of buying an additional gun/scope/accessories package, but I like the idea of interchanging barrels so I’ll never have to buy another gun again to get the caliber I want etc, and I don’t like removing a scope from a gun, and I also don’t want changing a barrel to be a long process.

I’m toying between an FX Impact 3, versus, a Daystate Alpha Wolf.

What would you choose and why?
You can go outside these brands but I think I’m interested in those two. I know there’s different versions coming of the Alpha Wolf, I heard the Alpha initially had concerns about slugs and glitches, that’s my main concern about such a pricey gun, what’s factual what’s here say

Also, scope etc,…..
Build away….the stage is yours, build your dream gun, feel free to share photos

PCP Rifle  NLA Uragan 30 package deal >>>REDUCED<<<

Selling an awesome Uragan .30 which I already know I'll regret later. My truck broke so I need the cash to fix it. A little about the gun. It's a lazer! Everything I aim at it hits. Huma reg installed and holds air, zero leaks. Have taken many, many grounds squirrels and rabbits with it. Loves the NSA 47.2g slugs, that is all I shoot with it. The sale includes as shown in the pics, the scope (Victoptics S6), one piece mount (UTG), gun and fill probe. Also not shown is the factory moderator and soft case and two magazines will be included as well. I can toss in 200 400 slugs as well. Like I said, I hate to sell, but need the cash to fix my truck. Bipod not included.

I take Paypal FF or add the 3% for Goods & Services, or Venmo works also. $1250 $1200 shipped OR $1100 $1050 shipped NO Scope or mount. Send a PM if interested. Thanks for looking.

What's everyone use to fill their PcP's

I"m new so just curious what everyone is using. Does everyone use a compressor, SCBA tank, AND or hand pump? I would suspect a combination of the three.

I bought a used broken down Yong Heng that I plan on getting it back to working order and waiting on the slow boat to deliver some parts, so in the mean time I bought a pump off amazon to keep my fix going and I keep an eye out on a used SCBA tank on Facebook Market Place and Ebay.

AIRGUN SAFTEY ON YOUTUBE Videos: You can help ....

I just wanted to post this video out there for all the airgun folks that can probably help us youtubers out on safety.
See what you think, again I do not want this to become a gripe session more about helping the younger guys out with safety and our format in presenting safe harvest of animals.

Mrod shroud touching barrel band

Now I’m on the third Mrod, first two returned. First leaked badly.Problem with the 2nd one was the shroud firmly in contact with the bottom of the barrel band. Not very accurate. 3rd one was close but not touching - at first. After about 100 shots last groups not as good as first ones. Shroud was/is touching bottom of barrel band 🙁. Took scope off & loosened both set screws clamping the barrel in the breach block. Tightened rear one, not touching. Tightened front ss and could see the shroud moving down & touching barrel band. Anyone have any success correcting this problem?

The Sub $20 Airgun Moderator. It's actually REALLY Good! (Full Review)

This guy makes affordable silencers that are really nice. They are rugged, heavy duty, precision made, and they can reduce the noise of your PCP by half!

Here is a video about them and a couple I ordered.

Thanks for watching! -Nate
