Hi folks. I've noticed a disturbing trend in the last few years. A confrontational attitude held by customers towards enterprise. This seems to be present with some customers of airgun companies, manufacturers and retailers. A confrontational attitude is destructive amongst partners. We are partners with the airgun industry whether one likes it or not. Industry cannot survive without customers. It would be difficult to be an air gunner without airguns, et al.
The good folks who manufacture, distribute, retail and service airgun stuff are not out to sabotage thier customers. Sure things go wrong, always have. These folks are our brothers and sisters in this wonderful activity. Mutual respect and appreciation is the way forward my friends. Everyone will benefit. When things need repair, it may be a good time to practice patience.

I was thinking about it, and Adam Migel came to my rescue last year at RMAC 2022. He gave me free use of his metric allen set that he had in his gun case right after my barrel-band popped during the speed competition...even though we were technically on the same Squad and competing against each other, he gave me the "tool" I needed to at least fumble my way through the last few stages.

Additionally, Todd Hatfield lent my son his Impact M3 with pump action (Which was the one I believe that Alex went on to win the Speed Challenge with) to hone his skills during the precision shooting challenge.

For sale is an excellent condition Weihrauch HW97K in .22 caliber. Aside from a few very small safe handling marks, the stock is in phenomenal shape. The metal is also in fantastic condition save for a small area on the receiver below the scope dovetail where the original owner hd a ring slip and cause some bluing loss. A Vortek PG4 spring kit is installed (about $100 value). This is one of THE top spring air rifles made, made to last several lifetimes! This one has less than 300 pellets through it, so it probably needs another 200-300 or so to get everything settled in, but that just means she’s nearly new and ready to give you a lifetime of enjoyment!

I’m asking $550 near Lafayette, IN. I’ll also ship for an additional $50, with the barreled action removed from the stock to cut down on package size. No trades, please. Looking for experienced recommendations for my first PCP. First off, I like the idea of getting a decent gun at a good price, even if tinkering is required. I'm pretty handy, mechanical and have access to machine shop if need be. Currently I like the idea of the Air Venturi Avenge-X series because of how well the Avenger has proven itself as a budget option that can still be fairly accurate. Then too, I shoot left handed and the cocking lever on the Avenge-X can be moved over for southpaws. Mostly I'll be plinking and small gaming under 100 yards, with the vast majority even under 50 yards. I like the idea of being able to tune for a wide variety of pellet weights, that way I can tune down for backyard plinking, or double up the fpe for hunting. I only wish that the upcoming Avenge-X was also going to be offered in .30 cal, although not a complete game breaker. Going with a .22 cal for simplicity could leave me the option of falling in love with PCPs and reason enough to buy say an Impact or Maverick in .30 cal., or something of the magnitude later. After all, isn't that what we do, buy our first then go nuts and keep upgrading?
We can't guess how good the Avenge-X might be when it hits the shelves, or how many problems they might have early on.
So, are there any other sub $1000 rifles out there that have already proven themselves as fairly accurate at 50 yards, reliable and left hand friendly?

I've got a nick on a laminate stock. See pics below. And I'd like to fix it, if possible.
Looks up close to be wood exposed, like it's just the finish, that's got a hole in it.
I heard a while back about using a damp cloth and an iron to take a nick out. I'm not sure that would apply to this.
Any help would be appreciated.

Day one is in the books and we were blessed to have nice (but warm and humid) weather. There was some great shooting given the dark lanes and overall level of difficulty.

At the request of @EPG I am sharing my drawings for a Shooting Table / Benchrest that I designed several years ago. Please note this is not a “Set of all inclusive plans”, but instead they are the plans that I drew for me to use to construct my Bench. A few changes are noted and a basic bill of material is included, but screws, bolts, top material, etc. are not denoted. I believe most questions can be answered from my own construction photos attached, if not please let me know.

What’s the best source for GOOD hex/Allen keys/wrenches? Most are undersized especially in the smaller sizes causing stripping of heads. I’ve heard that MIP/Moores Ideal Products are good but expensive. Any others to recommend?

Any body have experience with this brand of rifle. Air gun Depot have them ,they are maid in Spain they make an under lever I’m curious about ,it’s the Norica Dream Hunter

Warning, do not try this at home, I am a TRAINED PROFESSIONAL.

Had my Maverick .22 Compact on my 'shooting bench' i.e. my patio table, thought I'd do something brilliant and put my umbrella into the table, table shook a little and down went the gun, call it a drop test. 30" give or take. Landed on the barrel then the scope. I shall not repeat what I said but you can guess. Checked the scope, no apparent damage but who knows, went to insert a mag and....NOT HAPPENING. Upon further inspection the barrel pushed back agains the piece that locates the barrel for proper depth and bent out the aluminum about .006", it also wedged the barrel, so loosened up the set screws, took a piece of wood and a soft hammer and gently tapped the barrel out then pulled it out. Took a fine file and started removing material to get the mag in. THEN used the mag as a depth gage and reset the barrel. Test firing, pellets went exactly were they were suppose to at 30 yards.

Results of the destructive testing, and I'll leave it to the engineers to calculate the forces involved but, the barrel didn't bend and the Arken doesn't doesn't appear to be worse for the impact test.

Next will be, do I live with it or see if the FX warranty will cover stupidity.

addendum, those expensive wide stance bi-pods aren't stable enough.

addendum 2 It seems that the delicacy of the barrels of FX airguns is vastly overstated.

Beyond blessed to be the caretaker of this one.
Super comfortable with a terrific 12 FPE shot cycle. So far just into a trap in the garage. Can't wait to get a scope in it and actually shoot.

After installing a Williams FP-AG-TK rear diopter sight on my HW30S today I removed the Weihrauch factory rear sight. I'd like to install a cover of some sort to cover the exposed screw holes from the sight, does anyone have any leads on such a device? Thanks in advance!
