N/A  Delta Wolf, Ghost or M3

Hello, I'm looking to jump in the deep end and pick up my first PCP. I come from a firearm background and didn't realize that PCP technology had advanced to what it is today. My main focus will be benchrest and precision shooting, likely entering some 100 yd matches when I feel confident. I've been doing a fair amount of research and would like some feedback from some of you who are more experienced regarding the pcp rifles I mentioned in the title. It seems everywhere I look there is a large presence of the FX M3's, quality rifle or excellent advertising? The Delta Wolf seems very techy, does it work flawlessly or better to follow the KISS principle? Haven't found too much information on the Ghost or perhaps I'm not looking in the right place. As you can tell by my choices, I lean more towards the AR style of guns versus the traditional rifles. Thank you!

Traditional Rifle  SOLD *tuned* Weihrauch HW97K .177 Synthetic

Very good condition! This has been tuned by John Thomas including the installation of a Vortek HO kit. It’s generating right around 14-15 fpe. Probably 2,000 pellets since then...its just broken in. Includes the original box with all the original contents and a .177 Weihrauch moderator($100). There is also a 3d printed moderator/air stripper insert($15) in the muzzle brake. Included is also the self centering BKL-360 MB 30mm one piece mount($50+). Overall in great condition with a smooth shot cycle and reputed accuracy. It does have some small damage to the top of the dovetail rail...all can be covered by a one piece mount, however. $525 TYD in CONUS for everything...PP preferred, no trades please

The best springer money can buy at a great price with extras...don't miss this deal! Total value here is close to $1000

RAW Rapid  RAW airguns = low quality?

If you have been into Airguns as long as I have then you will have heard the same things. That “RAW Airguns aren’t as good as they used to be.” I have no idea who or where this started, but is it true? Let’s find out….

RAW Airgun QUALITY? | Airgun Advisor |

Registration at EBR

I think I remember reading, but I can't be sure, about how previous winners at EBR were automatically registered at the event the following year or years. I know a shooter who has won at EBR and questioned this person a couple years ago about having to hurry and register, and was told by this person that registration wasn't a problem, they already had a bench. That would hold true to what I remember reading.Am I correct?

FX  Five Week Test with my MK 3 .25

I had seen a few posts that some people were having POI problems with their M3 Impacts when they have been sitting for a while not being used. I've been letting my M3 sit for a week at a time without shooting it and then I shoot it every Sunday morning for the past five weeks, just to see if there is any impact change from it just sitting. This morning was the fifth week and I'm happy to say that it has not changed at all. I've been shooting it each week at 50 yards, I shoot two rounds in the backboard and then shoot a bullseye with the remaining 23 shots and I have not touched the scope and every time it just makes a large hole in the bullseye.....I think I have a good tune on it now....:)

FX  Enter: The FX Panthera Compact .22! ....Set up for what? FIELD TARGET?!?!? (Video Inside)

I recently acquired an FX Panthera Hunter Compact in .22 and did something a little unorthodox with it. Now, obviously the Panthera is a gun designed to pull a lot of power out of that big plenum and deliver it efficiently with that short impulse valve. But what if it could be set up for for ultra low power.... as a sub 20 as an FT gun?

Umarex  Notos or PP750?

Im looking for a low power pcp for ratting and barn work. I was going to pick up a brk atomic, but got to thinking. I have several high end guns that are setup for certain jobs, but why do I need to spend another $1k plus for a low power, short distance setup?

I decided to look into the notos, but 2 things seem to always stop me from pulling the trigger. First, the moderator is fixed, making it a no go to use my favorite moderators or even try to make it quieter than it is.
Second, the cocking lever was put on the left. No idea why umarex did this, but I find it difficult to remain on target placed here. I owned an rti prophet, and sold it just for that reason. I just couldn’t get used to it.

So now there’s the PP750. I’ve owned one of these in the past, but it was used, and had some work done to it at veradium air (not sure if they’re still in business), and it was a super fun little shooter. I sold it for bigger and better things, but always look back and think I should have kept it.
So it’s pretty much the same gun as the notos, but has the cocking lever on the right, and the poopty 2 rod style retractable stock that while it has cool factor, is pretty impractical.

So which one would you get? Similarly priced. Basically same gun.

For those new to airguns some purchasing suggestions...

I've often seen requests for help making an airgun purchase from people relatively new to airguns so I'll offer some generic advice. Hopefully other experienced shooters can add to the suggestions.

I used to teach IT (information technology... computer stuff) at the college level and often told my students that it was impossible to know everything (especially in a fast changing subject) so learn to find the specific information you need.

To that end, I'd say you should decide what discipline (start with one ;) ) that interests you most and research that.

So what do you want an airgun for? Casual plinking? Seriously competitions? Pesting/hunting? Target shooting? 🤔

Then ask the question on the forum: What do you recommend for *enter your interest here*? You WILL be overwhelmed with suggestions based on personal preferences. 😁

To help manage and focus the recommendations to your needs you should include as many (realistic) considerations/details as you can about your...
- Budget - airgun, scope, accessories. One airgun or do you anticipate buying several?
- Shooting environment - basement, backyard, shooting range, farm
- Particular shooting interests
- How much shooting will you be doing (daily, weekly, monthly? )
... etc

I say be realistic. Your not going to get a Porsche for the price of a VW Beetle, ditto with airguns. As far as performance goes, again be realistic, all the laws of physics apply. Power costs money and resources, get what is appropriate.

My recommendation is to buy what you REALLY need for your application. Don't get sucked in by velocity or power or caliber. There are general purpose airguns and one for very specific uses. Quality comes with a price, I prescribe to the "buy once, cry once" crowd and prefer to save up for the best I can afford. Each to their own.

Hope this helps someone!

Cheers!

Getting Soft…

At the former dairy, where I still get a lot of action, sparrows and starlings mostly. There use to be hundreds of pigeons and then I had zero qualms about taking them out. I have been observing a lone pair and cutting them a break. On my last two trips I’ve noticed but a single pigeon. Am wondering if something happened to its mate. And whether I should end its lonely watch? Thoughts?

Chronographs  SOLD Fx pocket chrono

Sold.......

Used works fine. Missing back battery cover. I never used the cover and no clue where I put it. Batteries stay in fine and it just easier in my opinion to swap battery and leave them out when not in use. $125 zelle or PayPal friends family or you add the fees on top. Newbie question.

Last week I ordered a Hatsan 1000x in .25 caliber from Amazon. I have probably shot 30 pellets through it in total this week. Today my son and I went out and started shooting at some targets. I could not believe how excited he was and how much fun he was having as he spends a lot of time on video games. After maybe 20 shots he pulled the trigger and It sounded like it exploded. We were both in shock. It smoked a little and he started complaining about the ringing in his ear and I was still so surprised but relieved that he was okay. He did not have eye protection and neither of us was wearing ear protection. I never assumed that a pellet gun would ever fail like that. Obviously, my fault. Curious about this failure in the picture and do most people wear eye & ear protection when shooting. Really a shame as we were having fun but glad he is okay. Thanks
