Crow carnage U2 style!

A little back story…. On this one beautiful snowy day I was heading outside to do some outdoor chores. As I was putting my coat on I looked out the window and spotted a massive bird about 100 yards away up in the trees. I grab the U2 topped with an ATN 4k Pro and set my sights on him. First impression I thought it was a large raven or possibly a vulture but I couldn’t 100% ID the bird. After watching his demeanor for the next few minutes, I finally realized that I was looking at a juvenile eagle! What a majestic bird!!!
1740597321836.jpeg

So I put the U2 down and power down the scope. I take one step and all of a sudden a mature bald eagle swoops in and lands on the same branch!!!
1740598786486.jpeg

The juvenile takes off to another tree about 75 yards away and thats when the fun began!!!

Crows came in dive bombing and head hunting the mature eagle trying to get it to flee the scene! I couldn’t watch this as our national bird was being harassed, outnumbered and quite frankly, under attack! So I grabbed the trusty U2 and went to work!!!

After the melee, the mature eagle eventually came back and enjoyed the rest of his stay with no shortage of food 👍 5 crows came in and only 1 got away 💀👀

This is the first video that I’ve ever edited so constructive criticism is welcomed! I hope you guys enjoy it ✌️

FYI….NO EAGLES WERE HARMED BEFORE, DURING, OR AFTER THE MAKING OF THIS VIDEO….EVER!!!

Tuning  .338 barrel blank

I picked up a .338 barrel blank years ago. Had been sitting a while before I got it. Bore is clean but plenty of surface rust on the outside. No big deal because it still fits inside a shroud I have. I'll and off the rust. Treat the surface and leave it full diameter for weight. I want to build a long range tethered rig. I have all the parts just no ammo. Who here makes or could recommend consistent size, weight in .338 for me to buy and test. I have a 280cc plenum so power isn't an issue.

It's 25" finished so I'm guessing mid 200fpe is about max power. That would need a slug around 125gr at 950fps.

PCP Rifle  SOLD AGT Uragan .25 (reduced)

Selling my .25 Uragun capable of shooting the NSA 34 grains at 1100 fps. Its a monster of a pcp and was able to place mid pack out of 13 shooters at my local NR22 match. The Uragun has a huma regulator and turned by the man himself Derek Wall. Asking $900 shipped CONUS with the Donny, three mags, and a single shot loader. If out of the US, I'll work with you. Accept PP FF or add 5% for G&S. I'll throw in your choice of an Aztec 5.5-25X50, Vector 3-12x44 FFP, or Discover 10x44 to sweeten the deal. I will also add an FX 30mm no-limit rings to the deal
image000000-50.jpg

image000000-51.jpg

I just shot the Uragan over the chronograph and its shooting the NSA 33.5 for 28 shots Av-962 ES- 10 SD-5. JSB 34 for 29 shots AV- 987 ES-9 SD-4. When I first got the Uragan from Derek, it was tuned for NSA 55.5 grains but I wanted a lighter flatter slug.

Beeman  Does anybody NOT not like .22 HW barrels?

Anybody out there NOT not like (i.e., LIKE) their HW .22 spring gun? Seems I've heard more complaints about loose fitting pellets and mediocre accuracy than accolades.

I haven't shot this Huntington Beach R1 in over a year. Had to remember how to hold it, lol. First group was not so good, second group was better, this third group was decent enough to post and maybe start a discussion with. Five shots in a 3/8 inch c.t.c. group at 23 yds. with a sixth "oops" shot. I know it can do better so may try again tomorrow. Problem is it isn't a hold one would use in the field.

Who can post pics of some great HW .22 spring gun groups for motivation? Gotta be a few tack drivers out there.

Bootleg Accu-Tac?

Hello folks.
So I just opened my box to on this bootleg Accu-Tac bipod that I bought for the heck of it, It was $20 shipped from EBay hah. A tad less than the $420 for the real ones. I know that you get what you pay for but I couldn’t help it :)
First impressions: I’m pretty surprised to be honest. China has came a long way in not that many years… Everything is aluminum, brass, or what looks to be - shocker - cheap round steel, not squared for the lug. The lock up mechanism works and is surprisingly stout. The legs pull , move, and snap into position positively, I wrenched on them a bit in opposite directions and they held steady. The leg extensions do as they should and lock solidly into place. It has spring retraction of the leg extensions. I forgot but I think the real ones are the opposite. The tension knob is a bit questionable as to how it will hold. The feet are smooth slick plastic so no grip there on smooth surfaces.
I’m waiting for the weather to turn so I can get out but wondered if anyone else has tried these bootleg bipods with any luck? Or any horror stories?
I’m just going to use it on a table/etc so it’s not going to live an extreme life.
Enjoy your day!

Air Tanks  NLA 88 cu ft ( 60 minute) SCBA tank $235

Selling this "new old stock" tank. DOM of 01/ 03 , this tank is 22 years old ! But to look at it , it has seen little use . In fact , it has never had it's first re-certification .
Needless to say , this tank has been a back up unit that was never put into service. I replaced the SCBA valve with an air gun fill station , after thoroughly vetting the tank . Selling for $235 plus shipping to the conus only. I use Pirate Ship and do not pad the shipping costs. I use these tanks as well as my friends. They are good to go !. But , you must have you're own compressor that is capable of filling a large tank . No commercial entity will fill this for you . To comply with DOT regulations , the tank will be shipped empty . Use at you're own risk ! Not interested in trades or offers at this time. Please deal by PM. Thanks for looking , Herb....................................PS , this is the last 60 minute tank I have to sell.

Brocock/BRK  You're all time "go to" air rifle ?

I've probably posted this before, but my all time favorite air rifle is the Brocock Bantam Sniper. I've had a standard version, bought from a member here a long time ago, and even though I've toyed with selling it, I've never gone though with it, as it is just too good. I've shot some of the best groups I've ever shot with this rifle. I can pick this gun up, even months since shooting it, and it will hit right where you airm and the velocity is right on.
Time passes and guns come and go and I found a good deal on a Bantam Sniper HR Magnum 22, and since it has a different polygonal rifled barrel on it, I thought I'd give it a try. To say it shoots as good as my standard is a gross understatement. It is one of the best shooting airguns I've ever shot. It is consistently easy to shoot one hole groups. After trying and finally settling on a scope for it, a Hawke Airmax 30 SF 10X, I was able to shoot two back to back < 1" groups at 70 yards, resting my elbow on the retaining wall in the driveway, with a mild breeze blowing. Holy cow! this thing is easy to shoot. It was shooting quite hot when I got it, sending 18.1 gr pellets at 990 fps, so I turned it down a bit to just under 900 fps and it can do an es of 6 fps. What a rifle!

I dolled it up a bit with a cerekote stock and barrel shroud I had and some decals.
I know, nothing is right without a picture, so here it is.

Your favorite single shot fired

I know you probably have many, i personally get a " feel really good " shot at least once every outing.

But i still think some are special. And i just made one of those.

So enjoying the comforts of the shot shed, and now long range company as my M8 got a tricked out DRS.
Well my friend made a new target, with some spinners made out of some nail plate, and that worked out just fine, even better to me these have little holes for nails.
So of course i took aim at these little holes ( distance not ranged but for sure 95 - 100 yards )
And i managed to smack quite close to many of the holes, and then changing to a fresh hole i had that perfect #1 shot at it.
There was a ever so slight sound of the 13 grain slug nicking something, and the " paddle " moved a little, so i thought to myself " either you just nicked the edge of the damn thing or your slug went right thru the hole "

So i had to get up from the nice comfortable chair and take the walk to the taget.
And i was not let down, passers by on the street behind the shot shed might have seen a old man out in the field run in circles with his arms over his head.

Shed lineup.

Hole with ever so slight lead markings.
Hole.jpg

Hole with a 13 grain slug in it.
hole with slug.jpg

I guesstimate the holes to be 5.5 - 6 mm or so, very aim small miss small kind of deal.

Of course no mention of the other 10 or so holes i also shot at, and the 30 - 40 or so shots just getting close, but that one was excellent target change and first shot.

BTW i also moved the dueling tree out to 100 Yards, much more fun now, not least the top 3 paddles which are about the group size you can wish for / get with a .177 at distance.

1200 13 grain slugs fired in 2 short days, 800 yesterday and 400 today before i had to pack up at noon and go do the family / uncle thing.

Now home to restock 13 grainers for Fri / Sat, and also promised my M8 to bring some 16 grain pain for his DRS to feast on.

FX  FX Impact M4 22 cal 700mm velocity issues

Hi all,

I’m having a peculiar issue with my M4. Previous week I ended shooting at 120bar pressure that was yielding approx 915fps with 27gr .218 H&N slugs. Fast forward to the next week and the rifle starts out at 830fps and over the next 40 shots very gradually climbs back up to 915fps. It then goes up and down maybe 10-20fps for the next 20 shots and then stabilises. Extremely confusing considering the electronic sekhmet gauge is showing a consistent 120bar. M4 has had about 500 slugs through it total.

Micro wheel 4th line

Valve 4 lines showing

I would be keen to hear if anyone else is having similar issues.

GX-E-5K1 Arrives

I just took delivery of a GX-E-5K1 today. I ordered from the GX store directly - $900 delivered using their 10% off coupon.

Interestingly, even though I bought from GXPUMPS official web store, it was delivered by UPS and said "Amazon Delivery" on the shipping notifications from UPS.

Below are some unboxing photos for those considering this compressor. For comparison, I found my GX CS2 box and put it in the pictures for comparison.

It is extremely well packaged. As you can see, it is double boxed and the inner box is EXTREMELY solid. I had to remove 16 phillips head screws to allow me to lift the cover off the top of the inner crate box.

I lift weights 4 days per week. This compressor is dang heavy. I pulled it out of the inner box, but I'd imagine that it might be a two person job for some folks - its that heavy.

Check out the bolts for the handles - this thing seems built very solid. It arrives with wheels installed, so once you get it out of the crate box, it is easy to push around.

REQUEST:

This is my first water cooled pump. Do you guys have any suggestions for getting this bad boy up and running? I have some Prestone 50/50 coolant that I'm planning to use - based on what I already read here on this forum regarding proper PH, etc.

BTW - the GX tag says this has a date of manufacture of October 2024.

Thanks in advance,

Ed
