Pyramid Air refurbished

First, I like PA and have had great transactions with them. I am considering a couple of thier refurbished parts. I checked with them and was told that these do not come with a waranty. If you search for "Pyramid Refurbished" you will, of course, find some posts about problems but that can happen with any company. My question is this: overall have you guys had good outcomes with refurbished purchases from PA?

Tuning  Recoil same FPE but different projectile weights?

What do you think will be more sensitive with guns shooting the same FPE but different pellet weights? The reason I asked is because for a few years, I've shot a Taipan Veteran Long .22 15.89gr at around 30 FPE and never had issues with hold sensitivity. I never even thought about hold sensitivity at all with that gun. Now, I'm shooting a Taipan Veteran Short .25 25.39gr at 25 FPE and I feel the gun is so much more hold sensitive than the .22 gun ever was. I feel the .25 Short really likes to be held tight against the shoulders. What do you all think? MOST of my shots are between 30 and 40 meters for either guns.

Can't wait for custom coating?

Utah Airguns just unlocked their custom build Vault, ready to purchase now! No waiting.

N/A  Close range pesting pistol

I'm thinking about looking for a gun I can use for some close range pesting. Not looking for anything special really, 6-7fpe in .177, decent trigger, and able to add a short LDC and use open sights. Is something like this possible? And no Huben not looking to spend over $1000 for something like this. Hoping for around $400 if that's possible.

Taipan  What would you do with this Taipan cheekpiece and scope ring combination?

I've been using a wooden cheekpiece from my Tactical Stock with my Taipan Veteran and I hate the way it looks with the laminate stock. I just bought some new scope rings and although the 1" rings are too low with the cheekpiece on (although still usable), it is the PERFECT height without the wood cheekpiece. The cheekpiece is about 0.3" thick. I was initially thinking of exchanging the scope rings with the next size up 1.125" and I think that size will be good with the cheekpiece.

My issue is, I'm basically dedicating a $170 set of scope rings for a cheekpiece that I hate. $30, no problem but not $170. The 1.125" rings would be useless to me if I ever decide to do away with the wood cheekpiece because it will be way too high for me for how I like my cheek weld to feel against the gun.

I'm thinking of just doing away with the cheekpiece. Really, my only complaint with the bare Taipan receiver is that it's cold against the face... although it is something I can definitely deal with on a varmint rifle.

Adjustable hamster $68.00

My Bass Pro receipt says, Ram Universal Elect Mount $67.99. This mount is designed to hold electronic fish finders.
It is a center clamp with hard rubber spheres at both ends. Everything else is steel. It really clamps securely.
I already own Tim Mac's version and Raw version. The UK has an expensive indexing model that most top shooters prefer. I am going to try and fit this new mount/riser to a TX200.
Has anyone tried using this type of double sphere mount?
They also sell a smaller ALL plastic smaller mount for $40.00.

Airforce  Talonp .25cal

This little gun never stops to impress me...is super accurate to 100 yards..super quiet with the carbine model with the moderator...zero recoil...super light..never brakes down built like a tank. And is putting out power equivalent to a .30 cal and it only has a 12 inch barrel..here is some chronograph numbers, teether, zero wind as is indoors, and 70 degrees temperature, with 43.2 pellet. Perfect for any first timers into pcp.

PCP Rifle  WTS Air Venturi Avenger 22

Slightly used Air Venturi Avenger in 22
Factory tune
I did file a flat head into the cocking arm screw so it can be easily took apart the downside in the process I cracked the plastic cover shown in the pictures.

There is a dent in the shroud also (honestly not sure how it happened). It is cosmetic and didn't affect barrel.

DonnyFL adapter is included along with (4) Magazines.

I have put maybe 300 pellets through it i just don't shoot it enough to justify having it.

$240 OBO + Shipping & any fees.

Shipping CONUS only.
PayPal G&S or Vemno.
Thank you!

RAW Rapid  RAW HM1000 X Questions.

Hi Guys,

I am in need of some help from the RAW Gurus.

Since I bought my RAW it has been nothing but amazing, won many competitions or placed in the top 5 with it consistently.
She came from the box shooting .22 JSB Redesigns at around 925ish. At a stage the hammer was removed to check for dirt (there was none), this is when my issues started.

Set the speed over a chrony to 928. But I never got the same results with it after that.

I also found that my 2 preferred batches, the one shoots around 15-20fps faster.
And off course the different readings I get from different chrony"s.

My question is this. How sensitive is the RAW to hammer spring adjustments?
Any insights would be appreciated.

Upgraded pellet trap support

I just finished my new brick column to support my pellet trap(s) at 30 yards from my shooting bench. I carefully used my steel measuring tape to locate 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, and almost 35 yards from my shooting bench a couple years ago. I put a 12 inch square paver at all but 25 and 35 yards and those got brick columns. A big oak fell down shifting the 25 yard and I started shooting a lot of targets at 30 yards. I've using my movable support made from an old brake caliper and some pressure treated scraps but I decided to upgrade the 30 yard to a brick column yesterday. It would have been a one day project except for the effect of my 69 years on my stamina. A bag of concrete is the base of the column then recycled bricks then a 24x24 concrete paver on top. That was heavy. I used a 16x16 on the earlier columns but wanted more space for two traps at a time. I lift the traps for multiple reasons but a big one is to protect my dog. They are above her height even though she normally has sense enough to stay away.

PCP Rifle  SOLD Regulated Airforce Condor SS .25 with 50cc Plenum

Everyone should have at least 1 Airforce rifle in their collection! 🎯

Up for grabs is the black Airforce Condor SS .25 that you may have seen in some of my Huben Power Regulator demo videos. This is a used gun and it does show, but she still throws down with the best of them! Reg is basically brand new and only used in a few videos and squirrel blasting opportunities. I've gone through the gun completely and have been shooting it for a year, and it definitely gets my seal of approval as a well-functioning used gun. This rifle can achieve 65+ ft/lbs regulated. I've had no problem ringing my 4" plate at 150 yards with pellets this gun. The only reason I'm selling is that I've acquired a brand new red Condor SS with which mess around with and I'm kinda running out of space to stash rifles! 😁

To summarize the modifications, this rifle has:
  • Huben Power M18 Cricket Max Regulator w/50cc plenum (set at like 165 bar for 34gr pellets, but you can set it higher if you want even more power for slugs)
  • Condor (high-flow) valve attached to Huben Power plenum which has the factory fill nipple removed and hole plugged since you can't fill there when using a reg
  • Twin low-side (regulated air supply) gauges, one is the standard Airforce one (in PSI) and the other is the standard Huben Power gauge (in bar) so you can be bilingual
  • 360cc 300bar/4500psi Tuxing tank
  • Talon Tunes Tank Cover/Stock (UPDATE: I've removed this and re-mounted the factory buttstock. The cheap plastic one was not good enough for the new owner, in my opinion)

$700 shipped, Paypal Friends/Family only. Will not include optic or any scope mounting hardware.

I'll post some pics and videos below:

Barrels  SOLD FX Impact STX Slug Tensioned Barrel Kit .30/700mm

While trying to build my bench gun, I went through several iterations. The tensioned barrel was one that just didn’t work well with pellets (It says “slug” right in the name).

So here’s a .30cal / 700mm FX Impact STX Slug Tensioned Barrel Kit with a Nelson specialty pin probe.
The liner is STX Superior Heavy with a 1:18 twist rate.

I‘ll sell this for $200 shipped (USPS continental USA).
