N/A  My setup

This is the gun I shoot the most. I switch up between the red dot and the LPVO. Its .22 and I like the 18gr. JSBs. Its very light weight (6lbs) without optics and has a great shot count for a small tube gun. I'm getting 54 shots on reg with a 225bar fill shooting the 18gr. pellets at 885fps with extreme accuracy. The groups I've posted are a 5 shot with one I pulled left and the rest of the magazine on the same target. I would say a dozen, or more were inside of a half inch. This was 60 yards with a variable wind from around 1:00.. 0-10mph. The bipod is a spartan from Javelin bipods, its carbon fiber making it extremely light, and magnetic so quickly removable or added. the piece that mounts to the gun also has a sling mount.

Wayyyyy different

Hi all. I’m working on getting my Gk1 .25 sighted in and I am having some issues. From anyone’s experience how different should one projectile be from one to the next in terms of accuracy. I had sighted in using JSB king exacts and it was spot on! I switched to another off brand (roughly the same weight) and the difference is like 3” at ~15 yards!!! I feel like that’s a LOT. Should I expect that much difference in different ammo? Me thinks no.

FX Royale 400

It appears FX website 2025 is not updated. They still have the Royale 400 and 500 listed but when you call a vendor to special order one you are told that they have been discontinued. Any feed back is much appreciated. There are some air gunners like my self that love the traditional walnut stock airguns without all the power - say max 40 fpe - and the AR style that being marketed, Just my opinion.

Calling starlings lol

I have a foxpro hellcat that I downloaded some starling in distress sounds on, somehow I was able to figure it out being so tech savvy at 62 that I am. Well anyway been a slow pesting winter season here, so with some warmer temps tonight I decided to try the starling in distress call this evening and it worked well immediately had birds circling the old cottonwood tree looking for what was making the racket, first a pair landed and I popped 1 and then a couple singles arrived about 10 minutes apart to be taken out by my 22 cal RTI! This was fun not sure how well it’ll wrk the next time but I guess I’m gonna find out!

Cs4i or yong heng

I’m a new guy just starting. I have a Ghost HP on the way. I’ve been researching all day and can’t decide between the two. It would be much easier if I could guarantee that I was going to get a genuine yong heng but that doesn’t see to be possible. So I am going to either roll the dice with that or spend the extra $300 on the cs4i.

Main question is, will I see benefits from the upgrade? What are those benefits? Longevity? Speed?

I’m primarily just going to be topping off my small bottles 10-15 times per week if I had to estimate. Might get a large tank down the road but not there yet.

Any feedback, recommendations, wisdom etc is greatly appreciated!

HW/Weihrauch  New Weihrauch day, finally.

Or really a couple of days ago. I was previously expecting a HW98, the older version with the black paint in the stippling, but due to unforeseen circumstances that didn't pan out.
So I turned to Krale once again, and in three days
the big brown truck rolled up.
It's not the one I wanted but it's growing on me already.😬
Out the box it had the heaviest trigger yet, and of course the horrid spring noise. The butt plate was also not lined up with the stock, could be from shipping getting banged around?

Anyway, first up was a barrel scrub, it was pretty nasty.
IMG_8155.jpeg

Next I pushed a pellet through to feel the barrel.
This is the best feeling barrel I've tried with the guns I've had. Snug at the breech, then not really any free bore all the way to the choke, which is a little longer than the others I've tried.
IMG_8158.jpeg

Out of 10 different pellets I've shot, they all felt pretty good going in, even the small JSB's.
Krale also sent me a 125 year anniversary hat, which I wasn't expecting, thanks.
Next I fixed the alignment issue with the butt plate and adjusted it to my liking.
IMG_8170.jpeg

IMG_8157.jpeg

Then I dug out my old Sightron SII bigsky 4-16X42 milldot and started the mounting process
to shoot and adjust for any droop or windage using the burris zee rings. Or actually before this I removed the trigger unit and adjusted it so it would be shootable, had way too much second stage and pull weight. This particular screw I could hardly turn, unlike the HW30, which was falling out..lol.
IMG_8179.jpeg

IMG_8180.jpeg

Now I was ready to do some testing. To my surprise the windage was dead on, but the elevation was about 4" low at 20 yards. I can also smell grease burning when firing.😂 I used the +20 and -20 insert in the rear ring, this brought the elevation up to 3/4" above POA, which is good enough. A few clicks down and it's on.
Top left corner of this target shows where the POA and POI is after the +20 install in the rear ring. And subsequent shots at the other dots and windage line after adjustment.
IMG_8176.jpeg

IMG_8168.jpeg

Here's a test target that day with several pellets,
there was some wind, but not too bad.
IMG_8175.jpeg

Today I tried some more pellet testing but the wind was howling today, so I never shot it past 20 yards, as of yet. Also velocities and SD, ES numbers.

IMG_8185.jpeg

So far I'm really digging this new HW98, even though it's horrid spring noise and grease burning. I will shoot it for a little while. But then It will be stripped to the last screw, pin and new guides, set back trigger blade and trigger polishing. I will probably use this factory spring for a while. May or may not o-ring seal or button the back of the piston, donno yet. It will get krytox lube though. This might be my new favorite rifle.

FX  Superior Heavy Liner .30 cal

Hello,

As by the header, shooting. 30cal with heavy liner. I am at a loss for what is going to make this thing even kind of behave. I've tried speed ranges from 900-960 with SEVERAL different kind of slugs, even tried the hybrids just to see. No luck there. The best I've been able to manage is 1.3 inches at 30 yards.

Any help would be greatly apprecaited!

Kral Arms  Quick, cheap power upgrades

Seems lately I'm getting several Kral questions again. Here's a quick cheap trick to add some power. The trick is cheap but you need expensive tools or to make a friend with someone that has them... lol

Tap the valve 1/4x20 at the valve stem exit. Epoxy in a 1/4x20x3/8ths brass screw. Turn the head down flush with the rear of the valve and drill a new hole to match a QB78/Gauntlet or equivalent smaller diameter stem. Shorten it to match the factory length and a reduced size poppet from Delrin or Peek. Adds a larger flow of air for a quick short pulse.

PCP Rifle  SOLD Air Venturi Avenge-X Tactical in .22 and .25

Thinning the herd some since my GAS (Gear Acquisition Syndrome) has been off the charts lately.

Selling this very lightly used Avenge-X with 22 and 25 bbls. Will come with 2 mags for each caliber, and single shot trays for slugs. I think I shot less than 20 pellets through the 22 bbl, and the 25 bbl is new/unused.

Asking $500 shipped. Thx for looking.

Wind wind and a touch more wind

Not the best of days here in middle TN but wanted to get the Arken matched up with the element helix 1500.

After zeroing I ran several strings through the chronograph. Fed the date into the app and then fine tuned the BC. No more turret tape, lase and dial…really like that. New to the Tiapan but my 1st 50m target was under a 1” on a day like today during a lull on the wind. Was able to record those and will post below. Still need to work the fps (+\-) to push the 35g Zan to see if it comes together more or spreads out but happy for now. Also shot the jsb 33.95’s and was right in there with the Zan.

Also tested the Scopemate s28. Gotta work on focusing better. The vid was after hitting the target with the laser and dialing in on a round tub with a 1” target sticker in the middle at 61m. At least you can see the sticker get tagged but really need to work on the focus bad.

So far liking the setup. And never knew working with a pcp could be so fun. Heavy rig but better than humping a 60 and getting shot at lol!

FX  Is the FX Leopard Hype Real? My Hot Take...

The FX Leopard hype you’ve been seeing the last few days has a lot of deep dive info to get into in the coming weeks, but here’s my hot take. We know the FX advanced valving systems of FX Airguns are always top tier innovations every time they release a new model of Airgun, but what’s awesome about the FX Leopard is they’ve mashed all of their newest technologies all into one Airgun.

The newest innovation being this rear buttstock plenum with air volume of 54cc that has direct line airflow right into the valve! This is going to give you massive power and efficiency. Add in their over-the-barrel fill source that also adds a ton of rigidity and the ability to add a forward bottle with a total of 890cc of onboard air capacity and you’ve got one of the highest shot count rigs the industry has ever seen.

Now let’s talk about power potential. The FX Leopard is like the FX Maverick and FX Dynamic had kittens and the FX Leopard being a bullpup design moves the action to the rear thus creating a much shorter overall length. So if you’re new to airguns, longer barrels give you more build up of velocity and power. So you can put on a 700mm barrel and not have it feel like you are carrying a long broom in the woods. So is this just an FX product launch just to keep the hype machine running? Hell no. I think this is gonna be one of the most advanced FX Airguns ever released. April can’t get here soon enough to get my hands on one and see how loud this FX Leopard can ROAR! 🔥🔥🔥

Other  Most accurate 50yd PCP airgun shooting .22cal pellets

I own a RAW HM1000x in .22cal that shoots very well, but I'm thinking about another 50yd .22cal PCP that will keep up with it just for fun. I've seen great reviews on FX Impact and Crown, Epic Two, BRK Ghost and Taipan Vet 2. I want accuracy but also something I can take pride in as far as quality and ownership. I like to fine tune at the range for ultimate accuracy with the right pellet. What do you guys think?

Night Hunt Success: Taking Down Rodents with Sidewinder .30

Last night, I went out for a rodent hunt using my Sidewinder .30 air rifle paired with the Sytong GM06 thermal scope. The results were pretty satisfying—I managed to take down quite a few rats in the brush.

One interesting challenge I faced was visibility. While the thermal scope worked great for spotting the rats, some thin branches in the undergrowth were practically invisible through the scope. As a result, several shots ended up deflecting off unseen twigs, causing the pellets to miss the vital zones.

Despite that, the hunt was a success overall. The .30 caliber hits hard, and when I had a clear shot, it was a clean takedown. This experience really showed the importance of having a clear line of fire, especially when using thermal optics in dense vegetation.

Anyone else experienced this issue with thermal scopes? Would love to hear your thoughts or any tips to minimize deflections in similar situations!

Pyramid Air refurbished

First, I like PA and have had great transactions with them. I am considering a couple of thier refurbished parts. I checked with them and was told that these do not come with a waranty. If you search for "Pyramid Refurbished" you will, of course, find some posts about problems but that can happen with any company. My question is this: overall have you guys had good outcomes with refurbished purchases from PA?
