PCP Rifle  SOLD [SOLD] FX Impact 0.25 Sniper 700mm 580cc MkII w/ Lots of M3 & Other Upgrades

[No trade offers on this listing please...]

Hello AGN,

I'm looking to sell an excellent condition FX Impact MkII 0.25 700mm Sniper & 580cc CF Bottle in black that comes with a lot of M3 and other upgrades. This rifle is an absolute laser and is currently set up to shoot the JSB 25.39g 0.25 pellets at ~920fps (reg=80bar, power wheel=3) with excellent consistency and accuracy. There is still plenty of power to spare if you ever need it; a quick adjustment of the reg up to a little over 100bar and the 25.39g JSBs will be going out at 1000fps - I just didn't need that much power so turned it down to 920fps. So if you want to shoot heavier pellets and/or slugs, there's still plenty of power to tap into should you need it!

This beautiful Impact is a MkII that has a lot of M3 and other upgrades installed (see list below for full details). It comes with a complete set of stainless steel bolts already installed (with anti-seize compound applied); these bolts not only look better - they'll wear better over time as they will not rust. All of the original black screws will be included as well if you want to reinstall those instead. The barrel shroud and cheek rest have been carefully wrapped in an automotive grade carbon fiber vinyl wrap, which looks great but can also be easily removed without leaving any residue behind if you don't want it. This rifle is perfect for someone that wants an M3 without the hassle of dealing with the dual regulators...

Here is a list of what's included in this package:
  • FX Impact MkII 0.25 Sniper w/ 700mm barrel & 580cc carbon fiber bottle
  • FX high capacity side-shot magazine
  • FX Impact M3 ambidextrious cocking block & handle
  • FX Impact M3 power wheel
  • FX 0.25 Slug A barrel liner
  • FX carbon fiber barrel sleeve
  • Huma high flow transfer port
  • Huma high flow pellet probe
  • Huma action o-ring reseal kit
  • Huma barrel o-ring reseal kit
  • Front barrel clamp (for added barrel rigidity/stability like the newest M3's)
  • Custom butt pad w/ front facing picatinny slots (for use with monopod or other picatinny accessories)
  • Stainless steel bolt kit already installed (original black screws will also be included)
  • Carbon fiber wrap on barrel shroud and cheek rest
  • Rubber protective wrap on air bottle
  • FX padded hard case

PLEASE NOTE: scope, mounts and bipods are NOT included in the purchase price...

Price is: $1550 + 1/2 actual shipping to your location

Local pickup is available in the SF Bay Area - otherwise, payment by Paypal Friends & Family is preferred (or add 3.5% if using PP Goods & Services). I have plenty of feedback both here as well as dating back to the old Yellow Forum so please feel free to do your due diligence and know that you're dealing with a reputable trader.

Daisy  CMP Referb Daisy 853

I received my referb 853 a little while back. I replaced the stock sights with the Daisy Match versions and added an adjustable iris. On the front, I swapped in the 753 barrel weight and globe.

I currently only have about 7m worth of practice space and here’s after a few rounds offhand just using RES Hobby Wadcutters. It’s certainly not Olympic level but not bad for a $150 rifle. I’m sure a better shooter would have them all in the center. This was 10 shots.

I need to fab up an extension for the buttstock. Even with the three extension, it feels a tad short to me. I also need to clean up the trigger - this one didn’t come with the trigger job and it’s pulling about 4 1/2lbs

Steyr  Steyr Pro X Scout

Most of my pcp airguns are utilitarian in nature, their beauty is in the engineering and the superb functionality, accuracy etc. All but two are lacking a wooden stock, so when I got this Steyr, it was like, great, there is some canvas here, I want to do something with it. I had seen photos of Jose Valencia’s carvings on his website & decided to contact him. He was responsive and was eager to create something special for me. Jose has been a pleasure to work with & I am more than pleased with the finished piece. Actually, it turned out better than I had envisioned in my head.

Airguns vs powder guns and the lands

So been having issues with my pp700sa with new 16 inch barrel. It does not sit flush against breech because that piece that goes between just spins around. SEE PIC

So it got me thinking. Basically with this bit of a gap I have given it a throat. In powder guns the bullet should not be driven into the lands but in airguns we are. If I load my pp700sa now the pellet head is into the lands a bit while a bit of the skirt is out. Won’t this give me more velocity as there is more air now in that area. The big question will this affect accuracy???

I’m planning to find a way to screw in my barrel at same time holding that breech piece so it doesn’t spin but I’m just wondering about this.

Tuning  3D printing customised airguns

Hello
As a bullpup "amateur" and an entry level consumer I decided to re-draw stocks of "must have" like : Air Ventury Avenger, Snowpeak CP2 or PR900, Hatsan Sortie or Invader also working on Crosman 1077 Reapetair...
I just figured out the amount of different jobs I made for myself and began to share it there

My purpose isn't to sell material parts but know how.
I intend to multiply cases in order to simplify and avoid issues and minimise original plateforms transformation.
I made it affordable for any 3D maker and ready to be printed by professional services (for personal use only).
Today you may find 2 or 3 of my realisations but the collection will grow rapidly.

If any question I'll be happy to answere on thit tread

Have a look and enjoy!

Other  Are pump action air rifles good now?

When I was around 10 years old (33 years ago, turned 43 last week) pump airguns were horrible. You would need to pump them 10-20 times and they were still bad compared to my Gamo break barrel I had at the time.

In this thread about airsoft for pest control Berserkeley Mike says:
+1 on the multi-pump, like a Daisy 880 or similar. I have the others, springers, CO2, rifles and pistols, but the multi-pump is the one I go for at 3 am when there is a mouse or rat in the house or backyard. The reason is it is as accurate as anything else, is easy to shoot accurately and I can adjust the power! Nobody wants an uneccessary hole in the wall.
Somebody on another channel was asking about those Gamo PBA pellets. That might be a good in-home choice as they don't ricochet as much as a BB, but won't freak out mom if a toddler eats one.
Outside the house, unless you have a _lot_ of mice and rats, sniping one here and there with the multipump is easy.

My own suggestion in the thread was "Pump = Basically a PCP that you handpump for each shot, depending on rifle it might be 5-10 pumps per shot - I'd never recommend these to anyone unless there has been some sort of mechanical advancement that has revolutionized these compared to the ones I had as a kid 30 years ago."

So my question is how good are pump airguns nowdays.
Any recommendations to research? How do they compare to break barrels? I'm guessing they are easier to pump but you need several pumps compared to 1 harder cock from a breaker? Hmm, that sounds wrong but English is my 3rd language so I'll blame that :p

Edit: I'm talking about rifles, not hand pumps or compressors for filling pcp rifles.

Western Airguns  FPE and ammo

Greetings all, I just got my WA Sidewinder in .30 cal. I've done some shooting with it and put around about 500 rounds through it. But I have 2 questions for y'all who have similar guns or experience with it.
1) The AOA video put out by Jared Clark says it comes factory tuned at 150 bar reg pressure and with that produces 80 FPE with 44.75gr pellets. Mine came with reg preset at 170 bar and with 44.75gr I'm only getting 80+ FPE. Did I get a bad one or does anyone have the same experience?
2) It likes most kinds of pellets. I've tried JSB 44.7/50.15, ZAN 56gr, Hades 44.75 and they're all getting a very nice jagged 0.5" hole at 35 yds. But she don't seem to like slugs. I've tried NSA 47.2gr, 61.6gr, ZANs 45.5gr, 49gr, 59gr, H&N 50gr, 54 gr, FX hybrids 44.5 but nothing seems to group satisfactorily with slugs. I have some Javelins on order but they haven't arrived. Anyone as any recommendations? I'd hate to think this is purely pellet gun for its price tag.

Thanks all!

FX  Impact M3 Upgrade Issues

I have an M3 500mm .22 pellet setup for pest control and < 100 yard target shooting. I recently added a second M3 .25 700mm slug setup for > 100 target shooting. It shot great out of the box with NSA 26.8g @ 960 FPS. I wanted more out of my investments and ordered 2x slug power kits and a 700mm barrel tensioner kit. Now here's what I ran into after a bunch of testing and headache.

1) The pin probe - On the 700mm after a dozen or so shots I had flyers all over the place. I couldn't consistently get my shots to group at 20 yards. I thought my dam scope was broken. I added the CB shroud and a new Impulse Air 1350 moderator so I pulled the mod and put the stock one back on with no change in accuracy, So I pulled the CF barrel tensioner off and still had the same results. Later that afternoon, after lots of swearing, I pulled the moderator apart to check for pellet clippings. Sure enough there was a huge load of lead dust and slivers inside the IA and stock moderators. So I started to track down alignment issues. Why the hell is the moderator not lined up? I know my pin probe was seating the slug a sliver past the S port so it couldn't be the probe. I checked my probe alignment as I've heard of the top screw coming lose and the probe going cockeyed. It was fine. I pulled the barrel and low and behold, it was filled with lead particles. Turns out shallow dished slugs go all cockeyed with the small pin. Installing the stock pellet probe fixed the problem. The 10 FPS gain from the pin probe is not worth the potential problems IMO.

So I started putting lead downrange with my 500mm setup and new pin probe. I paid attention to feel when the probe was pushing the slugs in the breach. I could actually feel maybe 1 out of a dozen stick while feeding. I'm pretty sure the slug was not straight and caught the transfer port edge. I pulled the barrel after shooting a slug that got hung up and there was lead particles in the barrel which is exactly what happened on the 700mm gun.

Pin probe = no bueno.

2) CF Barrel Tensioner - The whole design had my eyebrow raised when I first installed it. The system is so dependent on the ends of the tubing to be cut perfectly squared. I've read a post on another forum with an Impact owner that had a funky cut tube where it would tweak his barrel. Sure enough my tube does the same thing. If you accidentally loosen the end locking nut by unscrewing your moderator and the tube spins, your shot placement shifts. I actually took a sharpie and marked my tube. I spun it in 90 degree increments and the groups shift matching the tube rotation. The dam tube is not squared up. What a bummer.

HW/Weihrauch  I have to be reminded how accurate and consistent springers can be…

My springers get neglected during the nice outside weather conditions and get worked pretty heavy on the inside range in the winter, choosing to focus on longer range shooting with the pcps in nice weather.

Finishing up dope chart work on all of my airguns today, I shot this 10 shot group at 61.4 yards shooting my HW77 Vortek tuned .22 utilizing the JSB Hades 15.89 Gr pellet. 6 out of 10 found themselves within 3/4”. Even more impressive, once I had the yardage calculations complete, I never missed a spinner from 55 yards on in at 5 yard intervals, including the 15mm spinner at 35 yards.

They are indeed fun to shoot and require no stopping to fill!
