PCP Rifle  NLA Updated notos

Selling an umarex notos I received about a month ago brand new from pyramyd air.
Cut off factory moderator, and installed the mod adapter kit purchased from an eBay seller (also a member here).

Did not leave the plenum installed, as I was not looking for higher power, but will be included with it.

Also included is a carm magazine to replace the poopty factory one (which will also be included).
All in factory box with everything it came from the factory with.

Asking $300 shipped conus

Anyone ever shot scorpions?

After years of never seeing one anywhere in this state, my husband and I found three this summer. Two small bark scorpions (the worst kind), and one big desert hairy scorpion. One of the bark scorpions was INdoors.

The bark scorpions are hard to see; the hairy scorpion is bigger, with a large black/dark midsection. I hope these three are the only ones we encounter, but...it made me wonder about shooting one. I assume a .177 will be plenty enough to kill it, at any distance close enough that I’d actually notice one.

Have you ever pelletized a scorpion? I consider this equivalent to killing dangerous insects in or near the home—no legal restrictions apply.

Where to buy quality pellets in SOCAL.

Does anyone know of any places that sell quality pellets in southern Cal ( Ventura county, the valley, and LA)?

I've visited about every sport store in my area, but most of them only carry Gammo, Benjamin, and H&N. I'll been to Joe Brancato's place, which is great BTW, but that's about a 2.5hr drive for me. Looking for JSBs within a reasonable distance if anyone happens to know a place.

Thanks

FX  Which FX

I'm looking to purchase my first PCP rifle. I want a .25, and I've narrowed it down to an FX Impact M3, or a used FX Maverick or a used FX Impact MK2. Both the Maverick and the MK2 come with scopes and a few accessories and are in the $1500-1600 range. The M3 would be bare, and in the $2000ish range.

99% of my shooting will be at birds, squirrels, rabbits with the occasional rock chuck or racoon. I probably wouldn't stretch it much beyond 100 yards and really intend on just sticking with pellets.

Is the M3 that much better that it's worth spending the extra money? Or am I better going used with the MK2/Maverick and getting a few accessories?

Thanks.

PCP Rifle  NLA .357 rattler

I got this gun about a month ago only selling because it does not meet the requirements in my state for hunting deer. Which is the reason why I bought this gun. Put around 100 rounds Through it. Everything is as new. Scope not Included. No trades. Also comes with original receipt in case you have any warranty issues.

HW/Weihrauch  HW 35e 11mm to Picatinny solution from Warne

I ordered this Warne rail a while back for another project & that one needs a 3/8" solution from measuring so I used this Warne CZ rail for my 35e. Angles seemed correct & went at it as this is a 1 piece rail & you have to tap it on as tight fit. I used small oak block & soft blow. small ball peen woulda even worked better with the block. It's not a forced issue as it moves forward each small tap. I don't like to be pigeon holed with rings so I like to adapt to 1913 if possible. I dought mount will move. There made from 7075 t-6 & nicely machined without sharp edges. Just thought to show another 11mm solution. Warne also has another 11 CZ rail thats slightly differant that would work also.

Diana  RWS trigger

I have a problem with my RWS 34 trigger! It pulls from 1 1/2 to 2 3/4 and I never know which will show up. It pulls straight threw the first stage with no noticeable stop. It has a date on it of 02/02,.177,plastic trigger and plastic safety lever and the trigger guard has one hole in it. I"ve seen that there is three different triggers on these rifles.

FX  Crown MkII Superlite Barrel Liner/Shroud Spacers

With the well documented problem of the Crown MkII Superlite barrel wagonwheel liner/shroud spacers being pushed back towards the breech when firing the Crown MkII there have been many solutions offered here to hold the spacers in place. And I saw a solution using a carbon fiber liner sleeve holding one wagonwheel spacer nearest the muzzle, but not using the other two wagonwheel spacers. With that said, here is my question...

Could you buy an FX carbon fiber liner sleeve and cut it into 3 sections, with each section being the correct length to keep its corresponding spacer from moving towards the breech?

For instance, it would be a configuration like this for the 700mm Superlite barrel...

carbon fiber liner sleeve/spacer/carbon fiber liner sleeve/spacer/carbon fiber liner sleeve/spacer

Still trying to sort out how I'm going to manage the wagonwheel spacers before I spring for a Crown MkII Continuum. You would lose the stiffening properties of the carbon fiber liner sleeve, but wouldn't it do the job of holding the wagonwheel spacers in place? Would there be a downside I'm not thinking of?

Thanks!

Umarex  Notos tune, the beginning

All ports at .154.
Milled air tube adapter at an angle, .375. Standard passage from reg to valve was tiny, no wonder plenums do so little.
Machined trigger/handgrip housing to allow backing hammer spring adjuster out.

Horrible crown, shortened barrel 1/2 in.
Reg as received. Adjuster flush.
14.35 JSB
849, 852, 852, 849, 849

15.89 JSB
813, 817, 815, 820, 815

25.39 JSB
663, 664, 667, 667, 665

21.14 Barracuda
737, 736, 738, 738. 738

15.89 JSB one turn in
831, 823, 828

2.5 turns out
785. 789
So, up to 25 ft lbs with at least 2 mags, maybe more. I didn't do a shot count.
I'm confident that the 15cc plenum and reducing set pressure, lighter hammer and spring will work great.
More to come.

New World Record Longest Airgun Hit

Oure more than 5-year journey from the first slug tests to the previous world record 3.5 years ago is over. We achieved our goal of hitting a target at a distance of one Mile - 1625m, 1777 yards !
I hope you enjoy the video as much as I enjoyed this journey to my goal.

We will gradually add information about the M24 model with similar features here on the website:
https://www.altaros.cz/content/70-1-mile-airgun-shoting-first-time-in-history

Although the version of our M24 rifle capable of these results is still being prepared for sale, we already offer other used equipment to achieve this regcord on our website.

These are especially our new silencers with a muzzle brake, which help diverts the expanding residual air away from the path of the bullet, which leads increasing the accuracy of shooting.
https://www.altaros.cz/accessories/210-silencer-with-muzzle-brake-22.html

Altaros M24 airgun with only one external regulator (no internal) was used for the record, and it is exactly this model that is sold on our website, set to 236 bar.
https://www.altaros.cz/domu/223-external-regulator-with-externally-adjustable-pressure.html

The sale of the ATP Super King - CNC turned slugs that were used for the record will resume after the record rifle is added to our website, but our ATP King .25
67gr can do a very similar job, for example.
Most of the other ATP CNC turning slugs in our range can be used for shooting up to 1000 yards.

Air Venturi  Scope adjustment issues?!

Recently purchased a Air Venturi Avenger.25 Cal and have had to use adjustable scope mouts on my element helix scope as I was getting close to end of adjustment in my scope. Someone just mentioned that I should not have had to do that with that rifle. So now I'm googling and getting a bunch of different sources saying different things. Has anyone ever had this issue and is it solvable without putting so much stress on my scope with my setup now with my rear scope rings 1.5mm higher than front.

New Toys Balance and Decisions - How Do You Spend?

Most people I know don't even struggle with this. They buy cars worth twice their annual salary, spend all their money on going out and their hobbies, save nothing.

My friends tell me I'm too cheap and I need to actually enjoy my money instead of being a miser.

The crux of the matter revolves around finding the right balance between frugality and the pursuit of life's passions. I'm contemplating whether I should continue my frugal approach and diligently save or, alternatively, invest in a few new high end PCPs.

I've always believed in investing in top-tier gear when it comes to my passions, following the "buy once, cry once" philosophy. However, I also prioritize financial responsibility.

The question I'm wrestling with is finding the right balance between frugality and enjoying life's pleasures, especially when it involves our hobbies.

At what point does frugality hinder life's pleasures, especially when investing in quality gear for our passions?

Your experience would be invaluable. I appreciate your perspective and eagerly await your thoughts.

HW/Weihrauch  New HW97K

I started with a pcp and liked air rifle shooting so much I decided to try a springer. I got a HW35 and was smitten. Suddenly, I no longer found hand pumping the tank of my pcp tolerable. Sold the pcp today and realized I needed another springer. When I got the hw35 I was actually looking for an hw30 but couldn't find one so I bought the hw35 and preordered a 30. Once again, I looked for a 30 in stock and couldn't find one so you can see that I had no choice but to buy the hw97. I ordered it from AoA and do not know when it will arrive but there is no point in waiting till the last minute. So, I am going through my available scopes and have a Vortex Crossfire II 6-18X44 and a Votex Strike Eagle 4-24X50. The gun will be shot off the bench at bullseye targets similar to the Green Monster, for score. I would shoot field target if there were any such shoots in my area but no luck there.

Not having seen the rifle in the flesh I am wondering if the better scope (Strike Eagle) might be too large and heavy for the rifle. Any thoughts on the best size scope would be helpful. It seems like a heavy enough rifle to handle a large scope, especially with the underlever cocking, but I am just guessing.

N/A  A target I couldn’t resist

Got caught again at AGS. Went in to get a scope (Element) and rings. I have a HW98 .20 en route. Also scored 10 tins .20 cal. rounds.
My antenna went up , I could smell a squirrel. I saw him and took him home as well.
IMG_6590.jpeg
I couldn’t resist, a Balistic gel tree rat.
IMG_6597.jpeg
Because of his size I tortured him with a HW30 .177. Few shots to the head and heart. So cool.
I would think most other springers would go through.

Digesting lead.
‘When I’m done with these. I have to get a slow cooking pot at a yard sale. These will melt down for reuse. I have the mold for it. Crow
Forgot to mention. We can expect the new Air Arms in soon.

Accessories  SOLD Mini Lathe (7X12) for sale.

03 OCT 2023 SOLD SOLD SOLD and delivered to New Mexico.

Back up for sale. My new to me lathe is now up and running so this one is superfluous to my needs.
This little lathe has 3 features that my new bigger lathe doesn't have:

1 .Ability to change speed range with a lever behind headstock.
2. Ability to stop the carriage drive screw rotation with a lever in same location as above.
3. Thread position indicator dial which makes threading a breeze.

I have outgrown my 7X12 mini lathe. It has served me well. I have used it to thread barrels, chamber barrels, make adapters for muzzle devices, make valve poppets and a lot of other general fabrication of small parts for other machines.
I have used it for nylon, PEEK, delrin and other plastics as well as aluminum, steel, stainless steel and titanium.
I am getting a larger one so this one must go.

It has steady rest and follower rest as well as a chuck plate for mounting odd items (never used).
4 way indexed tool post.
Drill chuck / key and MT2 shank for mounting in the tail stock.
A set of change gears is included.
A set of inside and outside jaws as well.
Lathe chuck is 3" and includes a wrench.
2 metric end wrenches included.
Original Box (cardboard)

It comes with both metric and SAE thread rod kits (carriage drive threaded rod) , metric is installed.
Manual included as well.

The head stock 3/4" bore will accept most airgun barrel diameters.

I do not have PayPal since they refused to pay me the balance by check from my account quite some time back and have expressed sociopolitical views entirely incongruent with my own.

I will accept personal / business checks, cash, gold or silver as payment.

Price is $400 plus actual shipping cost.

It weighs 90 lbs. so shipping will be high. Pick up would be the best option and I'll throw in a free 1 day predator / hog hunt on my property as well.
You get everything in the pictures below:
