Hard headed coons

I have been seeing raccoon’s in the early mornings around 6:30-7:00 heading back to their homes. I have been stalking them in my upstairs window to have an elevated view of my backyard and neighbors yard. Well this morning I managed to shoot both raccoons in the head and that did absolutely nothing! The shoots were about 30yds away center of head. I know I nailed the first one pretty good but it managed to scurry off. I waited a few minutes and I saw the one I just shot and it was unfazed and made it back to its sewer hole. A few minutes later I saw the other coon trying to get back home and I shot it also in the head and it ran off as well🤯WTF! The weapon of choice is a .22 m3 using hades at about 900 fps which is plenty to take out the coons. I think it’s time to ditch the 22 barrel for a 25 I didn’t like those coons running off not one bit!!

Intro and new HW97k

Howdy all

I just wanted to introduce myself. As the subject implies, I’m a new user on the forum. My name is Michael and I live about 30 miles SE of Seattle. I’ve been shooting trap at a few of the local clubs for the last couple of years, but wanted to try something a bit different.

I own a number of center fire and rimfire long guns and hand guns, but currently only one air rifle - a Diana P34 I’ve had for a number of years. After scouring this forum (and several others who shall remain nameless) I ordered up an HW97K that should be here this Thursday along with a Hawke scope. I’m looking forward to getting it set up and sighted in. I’ve read a lot about tune kits and I’m sure I’ll have more questions once it’s broken in.

3rd Chuck for Huben GK1

Got this one at 29 yards, 21 grain JST 820 fps, pellet entered one ear and exited the other. For some reason camera failed to record. The longest kill shot so far was 45 yards, that one was with a 15.80 JSB at 850. I am disappointed the video did not work. Oh well, at least I am gaining confidence in this pistol. Hope it cools off, want to go squirrel hunting.

Overclocking your PCPs?

I looked at a few schematics on some electronically fired PCPs and noted some potential around increasing the clock sampling rate of the trigger system microswitch. In looking at high speed footage around barrel harmonics I noticed that adjusting the IC from a .1pF to .05pF harmonics were reduced and POI was more consistent around 890-903FPS +- ~7 FPS. Has anyone also attached not only a chronograph but a logic analyzer to electronic firing mechanisms?

A .05pF ia like $00.03 so in scope of tuning I was curious. I think some of these electronic triggers run on an ARM7 or ESP32 platform.

Thanks for consideration of the above!

HW/Weihrauch  I can't do that again..

Today while my contractor is MIA, I figured I'd do some unsupported seated and offhand shooting from my unfinished porch. Using my two most used guns, I went through almost three 500 tins of pellets. I was shooting a few paper targets at 25 yards for zero and the rest at spinners, beer cans and empty tins. I'd push the cans and tin halves to about 45 yards where they'd turn out of view. It was nice to get back to fun plinking. I surprised myself how well I did offhand after a few hundred rounds 😊. The bench crippled me like a batting tee.

As to the thread title, the small Crossman spinner hung up upright. Doubt I could do that again.

New Warrior compressor question

Hi! All I'm a new member and I just bought a Benjamin Gunner and I,m now waiting for a scope I ordered. But my question is about the air compressor a friend gave me that is a new /unused New Warrior compressor from about 2020 (i think). anyway I think there's something missing on the air outlet because its a 14 MM fine thread plug with a small hole in it and I can't figure out how to get anything to fit the 14MM or the small hole that I can connect to my hose that goes to my filter and then to the gun. The comp. is blue ( I think the newer model is red). As I face the front of the comp. the air outlet I'm speaking of is on the right. Any help here would be greatly appreciated Thanks Dan

Steyr  My Steyr LG 110 by Allen Zasadney

After attending the most recent Pyramyd AIR Cup, my low power precision FT interests have been rekindled.

I dug out my Steyr LG 110 and took a few shots... damn this thing is sweet! *Neat story about this one.

Unfortunately I've got a slow air leak. I did a quick search here on AGN and found a few threads by @Motorhead & @Xbowsniper (RIP Tom). But I'm unable to locate a list of parts, or methods of disassembly. I found an exploded diagram on Steyr's website of the LG 110's successor, the Challenger Hunter. However there is no parts list. https://www.steyr-sport.com/en/downloads-air-rifles/parts-lists-with-exploded-views

Some of their instructional videos look promising, but lack details

I'm gonna hit it with some "snopes" this evening. If the leak is simple I'd like to try to replace the o-ring(s) myself (hopefully it's not the tiny o-ring inside the regulator!) but I don't even know if I can remove the tube while its under pressure!

Any assistance locating the leak and/or o-rings are appreciated.

Traditional Rifle  NLA .22 HW 98

Selling my barely shot Weihrauch HW 98 in .22 cal.

I bought this gun new from Krale a couple months ago and have put *maybe* 30 pellets through it. I’ve never owned a more accurate and pleasurable springer. It’s so accurate it almost takes the fun out of plinking… almost. I’m only selling it because my collection has gotten out of hand, and the newest guns need to go first.

**MAJOR DISCLAIMER—PLEASE READ: this gun was advertised on Krale as having the traditional HW 98 stock with the black stippling. It was a gorgeous design that clinched the deal for me over all the other amazing offerings from Weihrauch. However, when it arrived, it had instead the new stock, without the black paint. I was very disappointed, and in a fit of rage and inspiration I painted it myself to match the original design. Now I’m sure some of you are screaming: “You fool!!! What have you done?!?!” But in my defense, it came out looking really good (see pictures) and, after having spoken to a few people who have ordered the same gun recently from various retailers, they are ALL advertising the original stock and then sending the newer, less attractive stock. So it might be hard to find the black stippled versions otherwise. Either way, it goes without saying that the gun shoots just the same—which is to say excellently.

$500 plus shipping in CONUS. Zelle preferred. The only trade I’m interested in is a .22 or .25 Sumatra carbine.

Comes with original box and manual. ***Scope and mount not included.

Thanks.

Might still have it

It’s been a really long time since I’ve shot FT…but sat down in no coat wftf position and shot this N50 card at 27y. It’s not terrible for a 12fpe gun. Missed a few wind holds, but would probably still make a 244 or 245 on the wrabf 25m card. I did walk around like a 100 year old man for 10 minutes or so afterward. 😀
