Just a fun FYI for those who may have never seen the cockpit of an OPEN / WFTF air rifle.

As in a target rifle used in the competitive game of FIELD TARGET.
Ranging via Parallax which at higher X "depth of field" becomes very shallow and distance easily ascertained. 10-50X power is common in these scope unlimited classes.
Vertical Turret has calibrated distance tape on an oversize turret wheel allowing Click to distance and always aiming crosshair center.
* All adjustments for distance are ALWAYS "UP" having scope zeroed at pellet flight apex. RED ZONE for wrong direction !!!
Bubble level to prevent CANT errors that needs to be watched at all times prior to actual shot.

So just a fun share for those who ever wondered how neurotic some are in the pursuit of Air Gun accuracy :p

Powerline 880- Multi-pump Nostalgia

So in the midst of researching and researching for an Airgun for me, I went out and got a Powerline 880 for my twin boys to mess with.

I had one when I was 10 or 11 (95-96) and used to dispatch ground squirrels with pellets that were getting into the chicken runs at my grandfather's, shoot beetles and various off the ground (BBs), and annoy the ravens that would perch on a joshua tree around 80-100yards away by lobbing/arcing BBs at them. Probably played with that gun a good 5-6 years always shooting iron sights. Then shooting break barrels my grandfather had, that as I remember didn't seem quite as accurate.

Seems like it's about as decent as I remember. Was hitting a tiny pellet trap at 15 yards consistently off hand with iron sights using some red fires.

Tried teaching them to shot iron sights. One boy could hit it a bit here and there braced on a step ladder. My other son couldn't hit anything in the pellet trap. Eventually got him hitting in the pellet trap but not the targets. Worked with him for like an hour and all his shots were pulling right. Tried to have him focus on his trigger pull but he was still off to the right.

Then put up a soda can at 15yds and told him he couldn't go inside until he hit it. Couldn't hit it. Then moved it on top of the pellet trap that had a plywood back stop behind it. Kid grouped his shots decently enough all to right in the plywood. It was getting dark and told him to aim just left of the can and he nailed it.

Picked up some paper targets last night to get a solid look at their placement. Also getting plenty of nostalgia and probably gonna play with it a bit and see how many yards out I can hit a target. Used to do around 30 just fine as a teen with one but maybe they aren't built as well anymore.

Any of you still shoot one or have your kids firing 880's or other multi-pumpers?

Possum #3 takes a dirt nap

..it makes sense now why i was losing so many chickens .. theres a whole gang of predators making rounds at my coop at night ... at this point im betting theres even more ..
.. anyway this one dropped hard, luckily, the gun failed to feed after~3 rounds and i had to rack the bolt .. another short burst finished the job ..

Crosman  Did I break my NEW Limited Edition Crosman 362 ?

362-1.JPG

I got the 100th annivesary edition. #490 of 2023 made. So beautiful. Williams peep site. Fiber optic front site. Super light weight, yet solid.

It won't pump up. It did at first, but then I :

dry fired it many times filming the trigger

shot it once with the bolt open, it snapped shut

When I sat down to film the shooting portion, the gun would not pump up.

Did I do that?

Are you not supposed to dry fire pump guns?

Like this gun? I posted a thread with alot of close up pics here: https://www.airgunnation.com/thread...man-326-close-up-pics-2023-were-made.1297072/

Daystate  Huntsman Revere Benchrest rifle?

Ok just an interesting question. I was perusing the AOA used rifles and found a Revere in a full blown benchrest stock. I'm really not interested, but it struck me that the "fairly hard to adjust" Revere wouldn't be on my list of bench rifle actions. I know you can throw any action in a bench stock. Was curious what everyone thinks of this pairing??

Anyone with an impact m3, do you have to dry fire b4 hunt?

I don't have an m3. But was wondering for those who do, do you still need to dry fire 1-2 shots b4 a hunt? Cause I know mk1 and mk2, the first 1-2 shot will be slower. I don't think it have anything to do with reg creep. It's just how most if not all guns do it. So wondering if the m3 is the same since it have 2 regs. Maybe having 2 regs fix this problem?

RAW Rapid  My first RAW - TM1000

After 7 years of being in airguns, I have finally picked up my first RAW. Crazy because they have always been one of my top choice for looks and quality. I have mostly steered toward adjustability, so haven’t picked one up… until now.

After selling my Thomas earlier in the year because of a crazy job and not being able to shoot FT like I want and seeing no end in sight, I’m hoping that a recent job change is going to give me more free time. The RAW popped up and I knew I couldn’t let another one pass. This thing is a beauty too and has a lovely 2 stage, 3.5oz trigger. I’m going to have fun!

When I saw it was Rick, a well respected member and FT shooter, I knew I had nothing to be worried about. Quick conversation and two days later, I have TM1000 #5, yes #5, in my hands.

I wasn’t planning for this so fast, so now I need a HFT scope. I can’t even shoot it! I know what I’m looking for now.

I can’t wait to share more as the journey continues, but I was so happy, I had to share.

HW/Weihrauch  The holy grail

Two years of searching and disappointment I finally got my HW98 .20
Approximately July 20 I saw the 98 at AOA. Almost had a heart attack. I tried buying from them before, no dice, because I live in Canada. They want nothing to do with the paper work involved. So I called my man Wes who is a dealer and can buy from them. For 3 days I get a voice mail he’s busy. I’m watching that gun 3-4 times daily with panic. I posted here “Where’s Wes” and find out he’s in Scotland. Had to change my depends. He’s gone another 1 1/2 weeks.
‘I’m watching that gun daily like I owned it. On Aug 7 a member jccams blew my cover, announcing there’s a 98 at AOA. Luckily I read it shortly after he posted it. Another Depends, major load. What to do? I immediatly called I think Kirk at AOA. Told him of my dilemma and asked if I paid for it Wes would contact them when he gets back. Kirk was A1 and saved the day, awesome customer service!
I have to thank Kirk and Wes at Airgunarcheryfun for making this work.
This is the new 98.

To me this is the ultimate.

Already a place for it. Just finished my coffee after supper. I’m going to shoot this baby on the range. Crow
