Airgun Technologies  AGT Uragan 2, Threaded Barrel?

I posted earlier that I have been researching the Taipan Vet 2 and AGT Uragan 2. I am trying to confirm the Uragan 2 barrel uses grub screws to hold the barrel in place instead of being threaded into the block/receiver. Just curious what everyone's thoughts are on the 2 different means of securing the barrel. My research shows the Vet2 is threaded, which seems like a better design compared to grub screws. Your thoughts?

Thanks,

Vern

New here

Hello-

New to the forum and airguns in general. Recently purchased a Crown MK2 and am excited to get into this sport with my son. Also, trying to knock out my 10 posts so I can reply to the post looking to trade his Saber tactical for a Laminate. My rifle came with a right handed laminate and I’m left handed. The deal was to good to let go….

Why no winter competitions?

With Northeast Air Classic in April, RMAC in June, Pyramyd Cup in August and Extreme Benchrest in October, would be nice if there was an airgun comp in maybe January or February, in Florida or some other warm southern/southast climate during the winter months.

Would one more competition be one more too many? Maybe just wishful thinking on my part as I’m off during the winter months, sure would break up the monotony.

What is your particular airgun-related OCD habit?

C’mon, admit it. The term OCD has been applied to airgunners, usually in the context of weighing, measuring, sorting, and maybe washing and lubing every pellet. There are other ways I see the trait creeping in, too.

However, my own peculiarity is trying to retrieve 100% of pellets fired. The trap captures all that are shot at a paper or cardboard target, but objects placed inside it or spinners placed in front send spent pellets to the ground...somewhere. Mostly close to the front below the target. Yet it can be hard to find EVERY pellet. And that is always my goal.

Because strays can be spotted at random times later on, I keep checking the ground. Every session ends with picking up the obvious ones, but if that doesn’t get exactly the number shot, I keep searching later, sometimes with a headlamp at night to spot shiny bits in the dirt. The retrieval has become part of the exercise.

My husband sometimes reminds me that (a) the amount of lead in the dirt doesn’t amount to much), and (b) we have bobcats and mountain lions here.

What’s YOUR flavor of obsession? ;)😳

N/A  Springers and bipods Hatsan 135 and TX200

I thought I’d revisit this again and post the results here. The two guns in question were a Hatsan 135 shooting 44.75 gr JSBs at around 550 fps, (30 fpe), and a TX200 with a 12 fpe vortek kit in it shooting 8.64 H&N FTTs.

All groups were shot at 35 yards. The rested groups were shot off of a rolled up blanket using the back of my hand as a rear rest and the bipod rested groups were shot using a two piece bipod mounted to picattiny rails attached to the forearms.

TX200 5 shots rested 35 yards. Gun zeroed at 50 yards.

TX200 5 shots from bipod at 35 yards
IMG_3367.jpeg

Hatsan 135 5 shots from rest with 35 yard zero, (sights appear to be off)
IMG_3360.jpeg
IMG_3370.jpeg

Hatsan 135 5? Shots from bipod, maybe 4
IMG_3364.jpeg
IMG_3371.jpeg

So what you can see here is that the Hatsan really doesn’t like the bipod. Not only is the group abysmal, it fires to a radically different point of impact.

The TX200 on the other hand shoots pretty well with the bipod, but noticeably better off a rest, but most importantly, it shoots to the same point of impact off a bipod.

Not exactly a ringing endorsement of bipods on springers, but not a complete condemnation either.

Crosman  1322 550fps for $1

OK, I spent more than a dollar as I bought the tooling in the past, but other than that, no additional aftermarket parts other than a bolt and nut as a solid pin.
Started life as stock left over parts in a bin from other 13xx escapades and I wanted to push the 1322 in its stock size to its max with no additional money even though i have enough extra parts to really hot rod it.
What I did
Transfer port open to .156
Barrel port opened to .156
Valve exhaust angle port with dremel
2.5 threads cut off of front valve half
Threads and internal rear valve lathe opened for more volume
Poppet shaft ground down
Poppet seal smoothed to increase flow
Inlet poppet drilled and pin pressed in To remove head space
Solid bolt for pivot pin
Rear cap drilled and tapped for RVA (Increased 15fps)
With 15.43 gamo
Pumps. Fps. Fpe
10. 469.3 7.54
12. 501.3 8.61
14. 532.9 9.73
16. 556.8 10.62

Kind of nice for a stock setup
I will finish dressing her up soon and testing to 20 Pumps but I don't see myself doing that regularly.

Introduction

Hello everyone,
Just wanted to reach out and say hey. I’m Tom, I live in Spokane Valley Washington. I am newer to the air, gunning sport, but at 57. I’ve been shooting guns for the last 45 years. I decided to get into airgun for multiple reasons, but primarily, the cost of ammunition.
I have the umarex gauntlet 2 and 30 caliber. And the Springfield M1 in 22 caliber and a handful of other brake barrels and CO2 powered air guns.
I would love to find other people around me that are interested in air, gunning, and where good places to shoot in Spokane can be found
It’s difficult to find shooting places as it is not legal to even shoot a BB gun in your backyard in Spokane County
Great to be here!!!

Brocock/BRK  Ghost makes compressor happy

Yep, my compressor has been taking extended vacations since getting the Ghost Carbine. Just want to share this for those looking to power-down their .22 Ghost to sub-12 FPE to maximize shot count. I shoot .22 CPHPs at 11.5 FPE and below is the amount of shots I'm able to achieve. I should mention that actual shot count is actually more than what is shown, but I just got tired and decided to stop at 50 BAR on both gauges.

Now, I'm sure many of you know that Crosman pellets are notorious for their inconsistent weights and sizes, so I discounted the shots for pellets that felt too loose in the barrel. They were actually shot, but I didn't count them; therefore, shot count should be even higher. (Of course, premium pellets like JSBs produce better stats.) That said, slowly closing the cocking levers on my PCPs to get a feel of the pellets' resistance as they are chambered is part of my shooting technique. It also allows me to call my shots. 😉

RTI  Another P-3 and a shout out to Talon Tunes

Finally made my decision. Went with the RTI P-3 and a new dealer based on the recommendation of some on here. Talon Tunes is good to go. He actually called me to ask a few questions about the order, we probably ended up just chatting for about 15 minutes. Never had anyone or anyplace do that before and I buy a-lot of stuff. The order came well packaged to boot. In a general comparison to the PCP this is supplanting as my farm pest rig it is built like a tank. Now I just need the weather to improve...

Air Arms  Any Air Arms S510 owners here?

Years ago, I had a Air Arms S410, and I really enjoyed it.
The quality was top notch!
These days, I dont hear of too many S510 owners out here, and I wonder why?
Are they still a quality rifle?
Anyone own a S510 FAC Compact?
Id love to see A.A. offer a bottle version, with a foster style fill, and just a little more power!

Vulcan 3 Muffler!!!

How are you all...hope everyone is doing well & enjoying a productive day of Airgunning!!!

I can definitely use some advice/opinions or both....I recently bought A Vulcan 3 .30 ...it came with an AGT Muffler....it definitely quiets it some but i need it mouse fart quiet...does anyone have advice or something they would be willing to part with that would work for me... it would be much appreciated friends...thank you in advance!!

FX  Fx streamline, Fx quality?

Hi all. A little while ago I bought a Fx streamline which had very little use. These guns are very expensive which is why I am bringing this point to you. I have customised my pcp as that is what I do for a hobby. while working on the gun I, very disapointedly, came across some issues, the first was the pellet probe and the second was the air port adjuster wheel. They both leaked badly when taking a shot. I had to remidy this by machining my own custom pellet probe, slightly oversized and tapered so that it would squeeze on the breech seal tighter, also I included an aditional o-ring on the probe shaft, sitting just inside the breech, completely sealing the breech. I know that this is an issue with many pcp's as the pellet rides over the o-ring each time its loaded but this was losing a lot of air.
As for the port adjuster wheel, it too was losing a lot of air, both from the inner part and outer. I don't think there's an excuse for this one, its just bad quality control. The o-rings needed to fit slightly tighter when assembled, there was next to no resistance from the seals when installing the parts together and the air would easily escape when taking a shot. As I said this could have been prevented easily with just a little more care and attention. I resolved this issue also by finding better sized o-rings and deburring any holes for the o-rings to ride over easier. Problem sorted.
The main point here is that these problems should not be there on ANY pcp but especially such an expensive pcp. By the way just incase anyone was thinking if I tried just replacing the o-rings for new fx ones, I did and that made no difference as it was a matter of size and tolerances. I managed this work as I do a lot of this kind of thing but I know that many would not be able to or even have the tools to get the job done. As this is a manufacturing error there will be a lot of people out there with an expensive pcp that's leaking like a sieve and the performance drastically affected. I don't know about the dreamline but the early ones were very similar to my streamline and am sure they too have the same problems, maybe they realised the errors and corrected them - I don't know.
Anyway I thought I would bring this to attention. Happy airgunning.

Is anyone else having trouble when logged in?

For the last few days, the forum is moving super slow for me. I have to constantly reload the pages, log out and log back in. Everything is taking forever. It's worse than a dial up connection.

Seems like it works fine for other people, and when I'm not logged in, I can browse the site at a normal speed.

So my question is, is this some sort of shadow ban or something? Am I being throttled back for my choice of opinion on certain topics on here?

I've received no messages from the staff that I've been banned or I'm limited etc. Just find it odd it's only happening when I'm logged in. I've cleared all my cookies and have tried 3 different browsers. It's definitely related to my account.

I've also emailed the staff and never got a response. If this I'd an attempt to get me to leave the forum, that sucks, because my patience is running thin and it's eventually going to work and I'll just move on.

I like this forum and pretty much everyone on here. Sure we have some differences of opinions sometimes, but this life. I do think I provide people with good info when they need it, I have an excellent feedback score, and I have a pretty good sense of humor... which is probably my downfall. Some people, usually cranky uptight people, don't get my humor.

Oh well, I'll hopefully see you guys around and get back to full speed. If this slow mo pace continues, I won't be back.

Taken care everyone,
DR. K

The Next Breakthrough in airguns

I had the privilege of shooting my friend's newly acquired Huben GK1 pistol. Needless to say, this thing is hugely impressive in many ways such as trigger, rifle like power and shot count.

The thing that impressed me most is how efficient it is in air use. With reasonable power settings, you can get 45 shots per fill in the .22 version or 30 in the .25. With a pissant 85cc air tank, that's phenominal! Whatever they did to control the use of air is truly remarkable IMO. This should be a que to the big airgun manufacturers to start developing their guns for more efficient air useage. Many, if not most, rifles on the current market (higher power and larger caliber) can get only 40-60 shots per fill using 480 or 580 cc air tanks. There sure is a lot of room for development here. If I were a large air rifle manufacturer, I would beg, borrow, or steal a GK1 and tear it apart to see how they did it.

So FX has released a new teaser video. I'm guessing they will shot it at Shot Show next week?
From what is shown in the video I get the impression that the airtank will be around the barrel like on the M24.
Does anyone recognize the stock? I feel like I have seen it before.
Correct me if I'm wrong but is it this chassi? ACC ELITE CHASSIS SYSTEM
