FX  Impact M3-lowered reg for accuracy

Shooting H&N 25 gr. HP slug II's .218 dia., I lowered the 2nd reg from 119 to 111 so max velocity was nearer desired velocity. Even in today's wind it was obvious accuracy was improved and ES down to 3-4 FPS with velocity at 995. I didn't take pictures but figure minute of squirrel head regularly at 100 yards and knocked down five steel rams with seven shots at 200 yards. Considering the breeze I was chuffed! Macro at 8, micro at 4, & valve at about 4. 1:24 STX liner with expoxied carbon sleeve.

As I've said before, this rifle makes velocity with ease, but I think 130 bar is the max with my stock hammer weight and spring. Oh, and still only changed the breach O-ring and really don't think I needed to. It's been 2.5 years and thousands of rounds downrange.

HW/Weihrauch  Looping

I’ve got 3 rifles that are major loopers. HW77k, HW97k both .25 and HW30 .22. They’re my favorites for plinking. I scored 10 tens of lead .25 cal. yesterday to meet demands. You shoot, it’s like a delay action when finally hitting their mark. Also more often than not you can watch its path, especially in the winter with a snow background.
This is my 77 .25. As adictive as heroin.
IMG_8308.jpeg

Accurate, you bet, no different than their relatives .22, .20 and .177. And when it hits my bell targets at 47 yds. through a 1 inch hole it pounds it.
On my range I have targets at 25, 30, 35, 42 and 47 yds. I have no problem adjusting.
I have no problem with the other calibers which I have more of, I just enjoy these more. I would really like a 98 and a R9 in .25. Fisher got me hooked on the 98 .25 idea. I’ve tried ordering but since Covid, Weihrauch won’t send .20 or .25 to Canada.
‘Anyone else like to lob lead?

FX M3 POI Shift (With vs Without Shroud)

Where are all the FX M3 experts. I need some advice because I cannot figure out what the cause is.

AIRGUN
FX Impact M3 700mm STX pellet liner. No mods, stock standard. Floating barrel with carbon fibre inner barrel liner.

TEST CASE
I went to the range to test the “barrel indexing” theory with my M3. To do the test I removed the shroud and silencer because it is easier to loosen the nut in the front of the barrel and rotate the barrel (FX lingo, the liner) each time between shots.

My “indexing” results - The POI remained the same no matter what rotation I do to the barrel i.e. positions 12h, 3h, 6h and 9h, all the same POI. So barrel “indexing” did nothing for me.

Note: During the test nothing was overtightened, mostly hand tight or a 1/16th of a turn with a 10mm spanner (Front nut on barrel).

PROBLEM
As soon as I put the shroud and/or silencer back on the gun there was a huge POI shift. 3cm to the right and 3cm up. When I loosen the shroud, say half a turn then the POI returns to normal but the shroud is loose.

Other than a misaligned shroud (End to end) I am stumped what the cause is?

Anyone else experience this?

PCP Rifle  SOLD Thomas 177 WFTF/HFT, current mono block

really don’t want to do this but I am just not shooting it because it doesn’t quite suit me. This is a recent/2 year old Thomas with mono block and slow twist rate 177 barrel, absolutely phenomenal/magical barrel with amazing accuracy with FX 10.3 pellets. However it dos NOT like lighter 8.4 or 7.9 grain pellets so stick to 10.3 or higher pellets. Currently tuned down to 12 FPE or 10.3 pellet @710fps by Motörhead, deadly accurate and great in the wind. Motor head did his magic tuning with lighter custom hammer and spring, there is no muzzle flip and really really “dead”/settled. Will also include original spring and hammer to turn it back up to HFT.

This is your chance to get a Thomas for the world! $3900 shipped in the hard case as pictured.

PCP Rifle  SOLD Weihrauch HW110 22 Caliber PCP Air Rifle - $700

Nice shooting 22 caliber PCP air rifle – very accurate. It has the laminated stock and the factory noise reducer. The stock has two small marks that I’ve shown in the pictures. Two magazines, the fill probe, and the adjustment wrench are included. I’m the second owner. When I received it, it had a slow leak. I took it to Pyramyd Air and they gave it a complete re-build. It holds air with no issues. $700.00 which includes free insured shipping. U.S. sales, only. PayPal friends and family is preferred but I’ll also accept a money order or a check with a hold for clearance

Brocock/BRK  BRK Ghost long term

Added another box of slugs to the empty pile this morning and decided to lay these out for a photo.

This is since Sept of 2022. It represents entire tins or boxes shot solely by the Ghost. Shots taken when experimenting with other possible pellets are not here.

There are...
4x500 of the FX .177/10.34
8x200 of the JSB .22/25.4 Monster RD
11x300 of the NSA .20/18.9 slugs
8x500 of the JSB .20/15.89
13x500 of the JSB .20/13.73
I'm totaling that out to 17,400. I'd guess that the testing of various other pellets and slugs would get it closer to 18,000.

I've enjoyed every shot.

Air Marksman VS Joe B SCBA

Hello,
My compressor just kicked the bucket and i’ve been throwing around the idea of getting an SCBA tank.
After reading through a bunch of threads it seems like Joe B’s tanks get a lot of great reviews.
Utah Air and some other retailers sell the Air Marksman tanks.
Are Joe B tanks worth the price difference? I’d be looking at ~$850 shipped for the “9l” AM or ~$1100 for the Great White with all the bells and whistles. Not a whole lot of difference in the grand scheme of things especially considering the GW is made in the USA.
I think I already know which one I want but thought i’d see if anyone had some insight lol.

Snowpeak  Free PP750 buffer folding stock design for the 3d printing enthusiasts.

I just finished my PP750 buffer folding stock design a few days ago. I made it available for free for all 3d printing enthusiasts. The mechanism was designed by "Mussy" and he gave me permission to remix his design. It's a strong, solid mechanism. Non-commercial use only.

Enjoy.

Benjamin  Question about Marauder Bolt lubrication for smoother cocking

I like my .22 Cal. Marauder Gen 2 Synthetic Stock air rifle and I am trying to keep it as stock as possible. Recently my bolt just tougher to cock. I did search around and look into it. I took it apart, polished the bolt, polished the tube the hammer slides in, took all the edges off the groves the allen head cap screw slides in for cocking but I did not polish the allen head cap screw heads. Well it worked much better but 2 or 300 shots later it is getting worse again. I'm going to work on it again and finish the polishing job but I am wondering about lubrication.

I have read where you can burnish some dry moly into the area very sparingly and recommendations to not use any grease. I am wondering if spray lubes like WD-40 or Tri-flon would be suitable in that area. Seems like they dry and leave a very light coating of lubricant. Any recommendations?

Thanks,
Barry

fun facts ..

i was doing a sight chek on the bulldog for an upcoming stakeout at the chicken coop and found a golfball in the yard ... hmm interesting target, lets see what it does ... hit it at 35yds, it ricocheted off a pine tree and went careening across the yard about 50yds .. this is the result with a predator 81g pellet at 980 or so ..

RTI  Prophet I Problem: Loud POP!! and Pellets scattered out of the magazine?!? ➠ What happened?

Prophet I Problem:
Loud POP!! and Pellets scattered out of the magazine ➠ What happened?

● Gun: .22cal Prophet I Compact Performance
● REG: 160bar
● Bottle: 260bar

I was just shooting a magazine of JSB 18.13gr from the bench (MV around 900fps).

➠ All of the sudden, when the shot broke:
😵 There was a very loud POP!!! — right next to the ear!
😵 There was a strong blast of air hitting the eye!
😵 Most of the pellets in the magazine got scattered across the shooting table!

This happened one other time:
😵 In addition, the o-ring of the magazine came off!

Also, at the shot it seems like there is air coming out of the trigger adjustment holes (or somewhere on the right side of the action).

This is dangerous!!
❓ What in the world happened?
How can I fix this?

Thanks for any pointers you might have for me.

Matthias

Daystate  Daystate Delta wolf with Ultra valve!

My first day at range with 22Cal Delta wolf with new Ultra valve was amazing I hit a penny at 145 yard! I want use some slug with it too anyone have any suggestion about which slug
should be better?. Today I was using JSB 25,39gr. Compare to my 25 Cal FX m3 was a little loader, but I think more accurate.

Airforce  found the tune!

ill try to keep this short...I still have more testing to do accuracy wise and what not, but here's the tune.

talon(P) shot string.png

sorry the fps numbers are a bit hard to read, I did the chart on my phone and didn't realize my phone was in dark mode. I have spent so much time working on this gun to get a tune what would work and met my expectations on both shot count, and FPE, and here it is. the long and short of it is I have 2 O-Rings under my top-hat (the top-hat is adjusted to the optimal position relative to the bolt) with the power wheel set to 12 in the slot and 1 on the wheel. I have tried a ton of O-Ring combinations and until today non of them have worked out very well. I was working on a JSB hades tune when I decided to give the 25.39 gr pellets a try, I should mention this is a 22 caliber Airgorce TalonP with an 18inch barrel. the hades tune was about 28 FPE but the velocity was all over the place, I may end up picking up the top-hat kit if I want to tune for lighter pellets like the hades, but this tune right here...my goal is 50 yards and in, with the occasional 100 target plinking, and I think this tune will make that happen.

if any of y'all have any questions about how I did this, feel free to message me. I will share all the info I have accumulated over the past few weeks of working on this gun.
