Just got my replacement compressor - a Yong Heng for a Yong Heng. As much as I would love to have a GX, I love having groceries and electricity more.

So I got the new compressor, I got an inline water/oil separator, I'm good.... but also scared a bit.

Is there a specific way to test a compressor, like perhaps a dummy tip that goes on the end of the hose to raise the pressure up? Before I start hooking up precious items to this thing, I want to make sure it's safe.

Does anyone know the size and thread type of the adjustment screw in the AMP regulator? I’d like to polish the mating portion of the screw to reduce any creep. I’m trying to make a jig that the adjustment screw would go into ( kinda like a bolt and screw) that would allow me to polish the head better.
Anyone know the screw size and thread type.?

am I the only one who puts a hard wax on the foam in my tins and about 1/2 full of pellets and roll around a bit to coat
I don't have any proof of improvement, but I don't remember when I last cleaned my barrels

I am NOT talking lemon Pledge or the BeesWax brand of spray,,, as I use Trewax or Collinite 476s

just curious,,, not saying ya need to do it,,, it is just my lazy way to wax the gun barrel
and it seems to be a good way to protect the barrel's interior

This gun was part of the first batch that RTI sent to the US. Purchased it new from Alamo Airguns. Loves JSB 18gs and at 100m and will do MOA. Reg works fine but sometimes you need to fire a few shots to get it going which isn't unique to the RTI Reg. Has a scratch on the barrel shroud( pictured) and some where where the cocking lever is but other then that it is in very good condition. No issues with the valve poppet like the Mk2s. Early Theoben Rapid Mk1/12 Carbine in .25. Had this resealed by Martin at RAW a few years back and its still holding air and shooting well. It maxes out at around 36-38 fpe as the valving isn't as opened up as the later models. Likes JSB Hades and Benjamin Domes. Overall very good condition. I need a modest power .177 pellet pistol or small rifle. I prefer to avoid PCP options but, could work with one if I really need to. I need enough power to kill small predators without damaging surrounding things, I will be shooting at modest distances, under 20' a lot of the time, and rarely if ever beyond 50'.

Things seem to be a lot more expensive generally than the last time I was in the market. I want a quality air pistol or rifle but, cheaper is better! I am unsure what I need to spend but, an >$1500 FWB, Steyr, ... pistol ain't going to happen.

The other thought I had was possibly getting a bullpup rifle at the 6FPE power level. I don't have access to high-pressure compressed air where I live so, that is a consideration too.

Long time lurker here but first post, just registered for this one (I enjoy reading all the great stuff going on here and all the hacks being discussed but prefer to keep my silence unless I encounter something I really can’t figure out…).

Finally gave in and got a notos a couple of weeks ago, having tons of fun with it! Didn’t do anything to it yet other than trigger. Started to take it out a bit further these days to 50 yards and noticed that the POI is shifting notably between sessions. Took it back to 30 yards to confirm (with paying more attention to the shift) and it indeed does!

I have a westhunter FFP on it and grouping is very nice at 30 yards, quarter size with jts 18.1 as well as hades. POI is holding while shooting, doing 15ish shots until topping off. POI holding between fills. But when I put the gun aside for a day or even a couple of hours, POI shifts. Half an inch or maybe a bit more at 30 yards, new zero typically needs 0.5-0.8 mil up and 0.2-0.3 mil to the left or opposite, basically bouncing back and forth between those POIs (no change of conditions). Groups remain nice and tight, just in a different spot… It’s the same with both single shot tray and mag (maple mag). All screws are tight. Any ideas? Thank y’all in advance!

What's the lowest FPS you've ever used while clearing out pests or hunting? What distance? Pellet weight? What was your quarry?

I bought a used 22 cal Hw95 Field Pro. I kitted it with a Vortek kit. It struggled to make expected power. I tried different kits and springs. The best it would do is around 16 fpe. It shot fairly nicely with some of the spring/guide combinations but the rifle should be making around 17 as outfitted.

I recently added a plastic piston sleeve to reduce twang and new seal. The power dropped. I thought the piston sleeve was too tight so I removed it. I inspected the new VAC seal for damage and there was none. The seal had more drag than desired but it has less than a 300 shots on it and it should loosen with use.

Currently in 22 without a liner and with the fresh seal
FTTs 14.66 = 15.05 fpe
JSB 15.89 = 13.78 fpe

Not happy with these numbers I slugged the barrel and it had very tight chokes at the breech and muzzle. I replaced the barrel with a 20 cal barrel and the power output jumped to way more normal levels.

FTTs 11.42 = 16.27
JSB 13.73 = 15.85

Its been my experience with (with no other changes) 22 cal usually makes about a pound more energy than 20 cal in the same Weihrauch rifle. That's due to increased efficiency from the larger bore diameter. That's reversed on this rifle. It's making a solid pound more in 20. Unless something odd changed during the swap there's something wrong with the 22 barrel. The only way to be sure is to put it back on.

Or maybe put it on my 22 R1 and see what happens to it's power levels. I was hoping it wasn't the barrel because I like the looks of the sightless Karbine Field Pro.

I'm contemplating lapping the chokes looser. Has anyone tried this? I'm open to suggestions.

I have both & another on the way. Which is the better unit, the stainless version or brass one.? The indexing hole is smaller on the SS version & more closer to the smaller indexing screws used on RAW of today I think. My indexing screw is wayyyyy small.
