This has been one of the best purchases for shooting lately, especially during hot sunny days on the farm or at the local range where there are zero trees to provide shade. Umbrella stand for bench and one for receiver hitch. I use both when out on the farm range, 9’ umbrella on truck and 6’ connected to bench, at least 10° cooler and no sun trying to burn me alive. Local range is like shooting in the desert. Makes shooting tolerable on 80° plus days. Both umbrellas and both holders from Amazon.

Someone removed all the black finish? Didn't Sheridan make some in brass finish? Serial number on left side of tube is 321848. Does that give up a manufacture date? I'm thinking it would look handsome with a bright polish. What to use? A little wipe with never dull didn't do much. I think shiny brass would look cool next to my silver streak. Thoughts?

I just refinished the stock (maybe not the best but better than the factory) this is a 177, the hammer spring has been modified as many on the forum have done. The gun likes the barracudas in 4.50mm. the gun will not come with the scope, it will come with 1 magazine, and a barrel band made by buck-rail(havnt done testing to see if it improves accuracy) it’s been a solid gun for me I just don’t use it and want to get another 22 cal. In terms of a price id like to be around the $400 range. Will either ship ups or usps depending on work schedule. I had one of my YouTube channel subscribers email me asking if I could provide any info on his rifle. I did several internet searches using all sorts of applicable terms like, BSA Hunter Air Rifle, BSA side lever, spring air rifle, etc..., but I came up blank. I ask because I have weighted late model Hw95K 22 barrel from a HW95 field pro I bought a couple years ago. Depending on the gun the barrel makes about 1-1.5 fpe less than it should for reasons unknown to me. That's on any gun I put it on, so there's definitely something up with this barrel. The barrel is still very accurate on any rifle I put it on. It doesn't seem to hurt the rifles shot cycle at all. It just annoys me that its not making full power. I don't need it for pesting should I just get over it and use it? What would you do with it?

A few years back, I came across some flat cast iron window sash weights at an auction, and for some reason my mind immediately went to "pellet trap." These weights are marked with a "12" as in pounds, so there's 72 pounds of cast iron in total. There were pulleys at the top of each weight attached with with a steel frame which I discarded. The edges of these weights are tapered, so when I alternate them, there is virtually no gap in between.

The initial design has worked well, with the trap evolving over time. Initially, it was just the wood base with a single black iron pipe frame attached that I would place on a couple of sawhorses. It now has its own dedicated folding steel sawhorses with custom fit wood tops and a catch tray spanning the pair. I recently added some drain holes to the tray so it doesn't fill with rain water if I leave it out. Most of the pellets get caught in the wedge formed where the weights meet at the rear, forming large clumps that make for easy collection and recycling.

My latest additions have been a second set of iron pipe frames to hold the cardboard target boxes in place. Before this, I had an aluminum profile frame at the front to hold single flat pieces of cardboard, but it only took a few errant shots to bend the profile and make it difficult to use. A few days ago, I added some more iron to hang a string and a plumb bob from to check the reticle on my scopes for proper positioning, and I'm sure this won't be the last modification I make as this trap evolves.

I recently took interest in DNT scopes. Going forward to the thermal scopes, it looks like the 225 and 335 lrf models incorporate aspects of v1 and v2. Anyone pleased with the 225 for small targets? Perhaps the 325 Hydra and forego lrf.....

I am planning on buying an Airforce Condor .25 cal in the next two weeks and this will be my first Airforce PCP ever. I have been into PCP'S for around 5 years now and have a decent understanding of them. However, Airforce Airguns are foreign to me. I really enjoy modifying airguns and learning new things. I have a basic understanding of some of the things that can be done but I would really appreciate any advice for someone in my position. Anything from little hacks, modifications, things to avoid and maintenance.

I'm going to be receiving my new springer soon a Diana Two Fifty 250 that I scooped up new for $99.99 , and got free shipping. And here is my plan to get it ready , but first an acknowledgement of my appreciation , and my gratitude over the past 9 months for all the help I have received , things I've learned , and insight I been given by the people here on this great AGN. My plan : Clean the barrel with my weed eater line pull through to get that pasty factory preservative out of the barrel. Next tighten all the loose screws . I will add a small drop of silicone oil to the breach seal ( the little O ring where you load pellets into the barrel ). I'm going to shoot some 120 pellets to begin the initial break in. If anyone wants to jump in with other advice feel free this will be my very first new springer (gas ram) that I have ever owned. OV.

Hi - I did a few updates on my .177 Notos - And unfortunately they turned out not like expected...

I also ported the whole system:
1 marked in red - I drilled the bore up to 4mm (I did not touch any thread)
40 marked in blue - I drilled the bore up to 4mm
42 marked in green - I milled the bore up to 6mm (diagonal) - With the help of a 3D printed guide
Barel marked in red - I drilled the bore up to 4mm

I polished and cleaned everything...
After I reassembled everything with silicon oil and some new o-rings I get the following results:

Regulator set to about 2200 psi
Hammer spring screw fully turned in - so heaviest load
about 700 fps
about 11 fpe

I already played around with the PSI and the hammer spring screw but the above results were finally the best I could get...
I played also a little bit around with some heavier pellets and slugs - But this was worse...
Can someone please help me how you reached 850fps+ and more fpe? I expected more with all the porting and tuning.

If I do a shoot test with the JSB Hades (0,670g / 10,34 gr) at about 30yrd it groups perfectly - So I'm very happy with that - Only the power is not satisfying.

From what I understand, the ProSport and TX200 have the same power plant, except the ProSport doesn't have a bear trap.

Our HW97K manual says:

Never pull the trigger if the barrel / cocking barrel is bent down.The barrel / cocking barrel will
fly up, bend and could cause injury. A cracked and / or broken stock will occur. Guaranteed!
This will always void any warranty!

To uncock a cocked and empty air rifle (no pellet inserted), close the barrel / cocking
barrel, firmly depress muzzle opening against a soft pad (carpet, cardboard) and discharge it.
If you have already loaded a pellet, you have to direct the muzzle into a safe pellet trap, aim and discharge it.

If it can be decocked, that'd be really nice; but I'd rather not break a $1K airgun just trying it out.

Thinking of getting a longer barrel and better Mod. Try to keep it as quit as possible Californians like to complain. It's for target and shooting quail. I'm solo out here on the Central Coast so any help with a liner would be far out!

This has been a bit of a back burner project for a few months now. It was actually not even on the back burner for the last bout 8 weeks, while I was practicing for a couple big matches with other guns.

Anyway, had some time to revisit lately and this was yesterday....

I'd rather spend the time shooting, but being able to make up some more projectiles from all the lead collected from my traps just feels right. Hard to argue with "free" ammo. (Yeah yeah, opportunity cost of my time spent casting instead of doing something else).

Basically a U.K. Made BSA with the hammer forged barrel. Brilliant rifle. 2 factory magnetic mags (BSA mags). These are built like tanks. I’ve got it tuned to 16 FPE, but I can turn it back up to 23 FPE if you’d like.

Valving in it is top notch; much better than any Turkish unregulated rifle. Shoots like a regulated rifle.

I'm selling a very nice 177 R8 to in part pay for a new blue Hw50. The R8 was just recently fully tuned with a new custom Vortek kit, Vortek piston seal and a new HW breech seal. It has very nice shot cycle with no spring buzz. It makes 8.5-9.5 FPE depending on pellet. Excellent accuracy. One ragged hole at 25 yards.
