FX  FX Impact Tuning Conundrum.....

Hi All..... I'm on the tuning "steep learning curve" with my .22 Impact M4 (600mm). I have a "decent baseline" tune that gives me 990-1000fps with 23gr ZAN slugs, so now I'm looking to see if I can tweak my settings without altering the reg, to preserve my shot count and hopefully reduce my shot spread......

So - my questions:

1. I understand (I think!) that the micro adjuster increases or decreases the preload on the hammer spring - what does the macro wheel do? Is it the same thing, just in coarser increments, or does it have some kind of cam arrangement that does something different?

and

2. Right now, my macro wheel is at 15 and micro is at 4.5ish - would there be any consistency benefit from going up to 16 on the macro and down (maybe to 3.5)on the micro? Would this give less preload on the hammer spring and improve consistency?

I'm still learning "the dark arts" so any insights are appreciated!!

Cheers

Dunk

do match grade pellts really shot that better?

I do not care which brand; it's a general question. The reason is that I can get tight groups with the right pellet once it is found. So, say my .22-PCP likes 18 .34 gr.;would a close to that weight target pellet actaully be better, I am looking for a consensus of thought on this subject. Iam trying to get hole in hole,my rifle is set up perfect as is.

Other  Beginner 10m Air Pistol Men

Hi!

I’m new to the sport but would like to get started on the 10m air pistol. Just moved to the Kansas City area. I don’t think there’s an air pistol range around us.

Dreams of competing in the Olympics.

1. Where can I buy used air pistols? If I wanted to practice at home, is there a pistol that converts between air and electronic?
2. Where can I buy items to set up a home electronic range?
3. How do I look into competitions for mens 10m Air pistol?

Any and all advice would be welcome!

Traditional Rifle  SOLD QB/AR2078

QB/AR2078 up for sale. This was a project that I somehow got years ago and has been in my safe ever since. I don’t have any co2 carts to test it but assume it leaks. Stock is cracked and someone did repair it but never refinished the stock. It does have a large bolt knob.

I am in SoCal 92883 area. It ain’t worth much so would rather not deal with shipping if anyone local is interested.

$80 bipod not included.

Daisy Powerline 881. Just been sitting in the safe. Foam wiper turned to dust when I went to pump it. It does give a SLIGHT pop when I pump it but I assume it needs a rebuild.

HW/Weihrauch  The Saga of my HW95

A few months back, I bought a pre-owned HW95N in .177 cal from AOA. It was in perfect condition and looked brand new. Like #1. I shot it some in my 10M basement and the accuracy was atrocious to say the least. It barely could shoot a 1 inch group and being a match shooter, I was sorely disappointed to say the least.

After about 100 shots, my head was spinning because of the twang and I had had enough. I bought a Vortek HO spring kit. I took it apart and found the usual greasy mess inside, so I degreased it and installed the kit. After that, the twang was gone, but the shot cycle was very snappy and it was still shooting 8.4s around 870 fps. I shot it another 250 shots figuring it would settle down-nah! Some say you should break in a gun by shooting it 2000 times. A waste of time an pellets IMO.

Took it apart again and found some galling on the spring guide. I ordered a 12 fpe spring from Vortek and after cleaning up and polishing the galling, I installed the spring, lubricated everything, and reinstalled the kit. Now it was shooting 13 fpe at 830 fps. It was easier to cock and the shot cycle was smoother, but not great. Accuracy was where I wanted it to be and if I did my part, I could shoot one hole 5 shot groups at 10M. It still sounded rather snappy, though. After about 150 more shots, I was shooting at my indoor range and when the gun fired-WHOA- it sounded entirely different. Instead of the usual snap, it went THUD. Not being very experienced with springers, I now know what others describe as this kind of sound which is desirable. Like #2. I went to the outdoor range and shot the rifle at 50 yards and was getting some really nice groups. After I got home, I tested it across my Pro-Chrono and velocity with the AA 8.4s was 840. There's a lot of power potential to this rifle.

Observations:
1. Trying to get high power out of these springers is achievable, but not very comfortable to shoot. Good for hunting where you don't take a lot of shots, but I really prefer energy closer to the 12 fpe level. Maybe the Brits have something there.
2. This is the third HW rifle that I've had experience with. All of them needed a replacement spring kit. Weihrauch should be ashamed of themselves for building beautiflul guns, but installing sub-standard springs and doing a sloppy job with internal lubrication. My R7's spring was turning into a banana after a tin of pellets. It didn't break, but the power was low no matter what weight pellet I used. It now has a Vortek kit and is starting to thud like the 95 and power went up 2 fpe.
3. I now have two good performing HWs that live up to the reputation they deserve.

Umarex  Zelos things.

Hajimoto Productions is selling some Zelos related things the HUBEN bottle adapter with an adjustable regulator built in , and offers the HUBEN with a 500 cc , or 700 cc CFB .
I used a c88machine bottle adapter $50 , and a round bottom 500 cc bottle from Amazon for $40. I would like a bottle barrel band for it with a pic rail.if any of ya all know where one is. I have 2 different tube pic rails one is from Natchez came with rifle no barrel band. The other is from Pyramid Air came with 2 ND Zelos , and has a barrel band although it was not in the pics on website.? I put them on a tube together for informational purposes in the pics. I will post a pic of the bottle as well in a edit in a few minutes. One of the bottle pics was upside down?

PCP Rifle  WTS HW 100 KTL .22

I have a 2016 HW 100 KTL ,it is tuned at 21fpe with JSB 18s and is laser accurate. It had the small air cylinder, in 2022 I bought the large one from AOA. It comes with both cylinders, 4 mags, degasser, complete reseal kit, and gauge and fittings to adjust the regulator. The scope and mounts are not included.
The gun gets 4 mags per charge ( 56 shots ) on the lg cylinder and 3 on the small and is changeable in field.
Both tanks have marks where I changed the gauges from one to the other but are pretty much covered ( see pic ) and one spot on cheek rest. Other than that it is flawless, holds air great, and extremely accurate, and whisper quiet. Asking 950 shipped . Having trouble downloading pics .Let me know and I can provide what you need. Shipped in hard case
Thanks

PCP Rifle  SOLD Snowpeak Max 1 .22 - $400 Shipped!

WTS: Snowpeak Max 1 .22 - $400 Shipped!

Price: $400 shipped CONUS.
Payment: Venmo, Zelle, PayPal (add $12 for G&S fee).
Email: [email protected]

Price includes everything below:
  • Snowpeak Max 1 .22
  • One magazine (20-rounds)
  • One fill probe
  • Shroud Adapter for 1/2-20 moderator (AEA Challenger Adapter #83)
  • Original assorted o-rings.
  • Owner's Manual

Note: Scope and moderator not included.

I purchased this Snowpeak Max 1 .22 earlier this year from Wes at AirgunArcheryFun. The gun is solid, does not leak (after it was fixed), accurate and gets a ton of shots on a 300 bar fill.

JSB 25.39's shoot at 896 fps/45 fpe with current tune and reg at 165 bar.

It's a great bench gun. But, for me, too heavy/front heavy for offhand shooting. The cocking lever is very smooth!

The Max 1 is being offered at a very competitive price, with a few caveats that I will note.
  • The regulator gauge has few small scratches on it (see pic). It arrived to me this way, and more annoying than anything.
  • The fill probe can be difficult to get in, so I just leave it in with a cap on it. Plus won't lose it now.
  • The Max 1 was shipped to me empty, and would not hold air when filled. Wes immediately had it repaired. I was disappointed, but the gun was quickly fixed, and leak is gone.
  • The shot string is very good (see chart), with many shots on a 300 bar fill! There is a very very slow decline from shots 1 thru last, but it still has a good ES SD (see chart).
  • Similar to the Zelos, the hammer spring is very strong, and backed out almost all the way. Turning it in, doesn't do much, but the regulator setting at 165 bar (factory setting), works very well for this gun. The hammer spring is also at factory setting.
  • Most important to note... There is sometimes slight counter-clockwise movement when the air cylinder is being filled and warm. Wes had me degas, and tighten as much as possible by hand. However, I still notice an occasional slight ccw movement when it has just been filled using my slow GX E-L2 compressor. It can move about the width of a sharpie pen or so, not much at all, but it shouldn't be doing that. I have put a marker on the cylinder to check for any movement, and easy enough to twist cw back if I want. Also, when warm, I can actually twist it slightly by hand (it has a 'mushy feeling'). When filled and cold, air cylinder cannot be turned unless a lot of force used. I never had a bottle gun, but assume that any slight movement is not normal.
If interested PM me, or email me at: [email protected] .

HW/Weihrauch  .177 HW44 310mm Carbine Conversion

After looking at Jarmstrong's conversion, I decided to do the same thing to my HW44. I had already outfitted it with the Rink Formgriffe stock (Shoulder-stocks) but decided to go all the way with the carbine conversion by replacing the pistol barrel with a HW110 .177 310mm carbine barrel. I decided to keep the pistol air cylinder because it was adequate for my needs. I get two magazines out of one fill and that met "good enough". I ordered a barrel from airgun spares in UK and it arrived in four days with no import tariff issues. I disassembled my current set up, removed the barrel (it just unscrewed), screwed the new barrel in, put it all back together and that was it. I got some additional guidance from J on some plastic holders for my vice to secure the barrel when I removed the old one. A little extra mussel power was needed because the barrel had locktite applied at the factory.

Original setup.

Check your card statement if you purchased from Lee Spring

So I recently made my first purchase with Lee spring, luckily I use a prepaid card and plan for purchasing because my original order was $46, I was charged $24 and part of the order shipped the other day now this morning they tried charging another $56, wtf 46-24=22 right. So I call and got the run around from 2 people then transferred to the big guy I guess and what a load I got, OK 2 shipments from 2 warehouses makes sense but about the additional charges he goes on to say how that's how there system works but in the end of the day it'll correct itself. Yeah right. The reality is someone thought I'd be a big company with lots of charges because of the variety of my order and they could get away with some extra because there's no way I'd be looking. We'll lucky I do look and plan for purchasing so there's not much extra there and they got declined.

FX  DRS Tactical Tuning Issue

I bought a Nate Chronograph to check my tune on my .25 DRS Tactical. The chronograph had sensor issues so I messed up my tune. I received the replacement chronograph and tried to tune my ar but t couldn’t get above 630fps with regulator screw screwed out as far out as possible and hammer spring to max. I degassed and bottomed out regulator screw plus one full turn. The fps increased when the regulator screw was turned in and reached 925fps bottomed out with max hammer spring. The regulator adjustment is opposite of what I would expect, am I looking at a bad oring on the regulator valve?

Anyone else guilty of tracking a package you've SENT?

I've been kind of obvious that my 392 is in it's way to Mac1. When I shipped it yesterday, I got the tracking number.

I was able to wait until last night, then I started tracking ... watching it go from Akron to Cleveland, and now somewhere SW of Toledo.

I have a feeling I'm going to be doing this a few times a day, until the "delivered" status shows up early Friday afternoon.

Is it just me being so psyched about finally getting the steroid tune, or has anyone else done this?

Benjamin  Benjamin Maurader Bullpup Stocks where they the same for bolt action & semi?

For those that know the history of aftermarket options, were there ever any bullpup kits available for the Maurader semi auto, or were they all for the bolt action, or would the kit fit both?

Also, where would be the best place to advertise that I'm looking for one, even if it's a paid ad? I realize finding one is a real long shot, so I want to make the best possible effort.

I'm aware the Akela exists, but I'm specifically looking for one that fits the Maurader. Thank you!
