N/A  Bad things about Cometa

So I've been shooting the Cometa Fenix 400 Gas Ram rifle the past month. I have put about 4000 shots through it so far. I put 500 through it in the last 4 hours.

Here's the skinny.

It kicks pretty hard and it jumps forward. The trigger is funny. The open sights are iffy. The bluing is rubbing off where I'm manhandling it with my gritty palms.

Its got a plastic trigger, plastic trigger guard, hollow plastic stock, funky plastic sights and a hard plastic buttpad.

That's every bad thing I can say about the rifle. I tried to find something else but I couldn't find anything.

I named her Maria Chiquita Alvarez. She spits Crosman domes at a steady 745 fps and can hit a quarter at 50 yards 4:5 times. A crushed beer can at 70 yards every darn time. 20 green army men were decapitated tonight with as many shots. Their bodies were shot to pieces and those pieces were shot. If you can see it you can hit it. She's a keeper.

The trigger is different. But it works great. It's plastic. Forgive me father but I like it.

Her plastic stock fits me well. I know it's wrong but I think I may be in love with her.

She will keep shots all within 1/2" ctc at 25 yards with an occasional flyer. Plenty good for my purposes. And she's a sensible girl that buys her pellets at Wal Mart. She likes the CPHP's best so who am I to disagree?

She gets along fine with the frauleins and is warming up to the Turkish girls. Even the ol' 97 has accepted her. I'm thinking about bringing her sister over on a visa to live with us if things keep working out like this!

Finished the ultimate shooting backstop

Hey guys just finished my new shooting backstop. This is 16’ wide and 8 feet deep and 6’ tall at the back. I shoot archery and really getting into PCP guns so i wanted a multi use backstop. The left side with the black 3/4” mat is for archery and will have archery targets on that side and the right side with the pressure treated wood is for shooting PCP.. Thr right side has multiple layers to it the first layer you see is 2x12 pressure treated lumber after that there is two layers of hanging 3/4” thick rubber stall mats and then back side is one more layer of 2x12 pressure treated lumber. We tested and a .22LR rim fire gun didn’t even make it through to the second mat. The nice thing is i can take out panels and replace them easily by just unscrewing them if they start to get to shoot up…. I’m super excited and think it turned out really well. I can shoot 120 yards at my property and for the guys wondering there is no houses behind me for a very long way…

FX  My latest invention for the FX Crown/Impact/etc

If you look online, you'll find a tool to pull the FX regulator piston out of the action of the above rifles, and others I'm sure. It costs around $45 and is hard to find. Desperation being the mother of invention, I invented this tool to do the same thing. You can purchase it at Home Depot or Lowe's and make one yourself for around $5 or less.
It's really hard to make and you might need drawings and blueprints :), but I'll just give you the rough idea, just in case I want to patent it.
Buy some 1/4" OD Polyethelyne tubing and it has the correct inside diameter to grab and pull the piston. Cut to the length of your choice and on the other end, take a knife and split the end, so that it will still hold the piston, and not drop it. Use the split end to insert the reg and push it home, and the split will let you easily work it back and forth to release the piston once in place.

It works like magic and costs nearly nothing and the PE plastic cannot damage the reg in any way.

PCP Rifle  SOLD EVOL 15" .22 TACTICAL!

Almost new!
I picked up this AAA EVOL .22 15" from a friend who was getting out of airguns. I think he shot it only about 50 times!
That being said, it has spent its life in a soft rifle case. I tested it, with unknown pellets, and shot a 1" group at 100y (minus two fliers). I have to say, it feels very solid when shooting! Seems like it's zero'd for 75y right now.
That's all I know about it, really.
The scope is an Athlon Argos BTR Gen2 6-24x50 FFP. Mounted with Eagle Vision adjustable rings!

Rifle only $2200 $2000 shipped conus!
Rifle and scope $2275 shipped conus!
PayPal friends and family preferred.
(BIPOD not included and not for sale.)

Partial trades considered =
FX Royale .22 (with power wheel),
AccuTac BR4-G2 bipod ARCA
EBR AccuTac bipod (with Orange legs).

I am not interested in a Crown or Impact, thank you.

Bench rest target in ft position

Searched a little bit on the forum and have not found anything related to this but just something I have been trying.. It is always a question to myself on further targets if I miss if it was a wind call or down to me just not doing everything right and consistent on my shot. So I been shooting a few cards of the 25 meter bench rest targets at 25 yards in the ft position. My best score was a 231 with my tx. Has anyone ever done this? Maybe others have already done this and score way better regularly. I found it’s a decent way to practice and try to improve.

The Fenix is coming!

N/A  Slugs at night almost tracers?

I've shot a bunch of pellets at night and occasionally can see glimpses of them, but shot a couple slugs tonight and thought it REALLY cool how visible they are, dang near tracers.

Here's just a super short video of one connecting shot on my 90 yards paddles I took a few min ago. This wasn't a planned session (was after a skunk) so was mostly just firing off the slug in the chamber. Sorry for the shaky, was just leaning against a post on my deck.

Anyway, super cool that it's visible for pretty much the entire flight. And not much trajectory curve, thanks to the 0.09-0.1 BC slugs.

Are slugs always this visible at night when filming?

(PARD DS35-70rf and BRK Ghost and .20/18.9gr NSA slugs @ 910fps)

Quick hunt this morning

Well it got down to 50 last night and decided to go out this morning at sunrise before the winds got up. I saw 3 but only one gave me a semi open shot at about 30yds. I had a hole in the leaves of her shoulder and sent a 25cal Hades. She dropped out. Wanted to hunt more but the wind got up to about 25-30 so called it. Good morning.

PCP Rifle  SOLD Brocock Contour .22

Contour s6 in .22 caliber
I recently acquired this rifle from a friend who didn't really ever use it. It looks almost brand new and it may not have ever been filled with air!
It's a Brocock Contour s6 with an Athlon Talon BTR 4-14x44 FFP scope. Comes with 2 cute little magazines.
This rifle is incredibly light weight, even with the scope on it! Feels like it would be a real treat to walk and stalk with.
From what I understand these were discontinued around 2015 or so, and I don't see them come up for sale too often. I noticed 2 small dents in the stock (see pic)

$675 Shipped Conus. Reasonable offers considered.
$500 shipped without the scope or rings.
PayPal friends and family preferred.

Partial trades considered =
AccuTac BR4-G2,
ANY EBR (bright) Orange AccuTac bipod.
