Sticker shock

I'm not a 30 cal fan but recently acquired a couple of special barrels to try out. I have a small stock of 30 cal projectiles but won't last long at the rate I'm going.

Sooo... I decided to check out the 4th of July sales at a couple of places and was ASTOUNDED to see these things going for 14 to 17 cents per pellet... JSB and JTS... Now I know there are discounts to bring this down some but still... this is crazy... that's twice what 25 cal pellets are...🤔

I went to Midway to check out some rimfire ammo and found a LOT of decent offerings for 8 to 12 cents per round with good match ammo being around 20 cents and super duper as high as 47 cents. This truly is crazy as a reasonable quality round being below 20 cents but contains 40 grains of lead(some even plated), a brass case, powder AND primer...

I'm fully aware of economy's of scale, demand and supply, etc... but really?

I just checked and NSA offers slugs from 10.6 cents to 18 cents per round... the 18 cents being for a 65 gn slug...

Looks like I won't ever be a 30 fan...

I think digital gauges are the devil my vote goes to good old analog. I don’t need a different reading if I look at it funny.

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!

My new result with Feinwerkbau P44

Hello! I'm a P10 ISSF sports shooter, it will be a year and nine months! In my first Match with a week of training I scored 420 points! I started with a Feinwerkbau 103 but this Christmas 2023 my brother offered Feinwerkbau's P44... today I was training and in a space of 1.5cm I made 8 shots but further to the left so I realised that before I only wanted to hit the black circle, but now I want to hit the middle of the black circle! I tuned the aim and with 60 shots I made 87,88,91,88,87.80 which gives 521 points, that is, I beat my record of points but also less outside the black circle (only 1)!

JTS Dead Center .30 ammo

I ordered a few cans of the .45gr JTS .Dead Center .30 ammo to try out a couple months ago, just now got home and was able to open the package from Pyramydair that’s been sitting here waiting on me….
Perfectly packaged as usual from Pyramyd and I opened a can up to check them out. These are the CLEANEST pellets I think I’ve ever seen. Very excited to see how the Evol and the Uragan likes them. They seem to have a thinner skirt than my trusty JSB 44gr.
Fingers crossed! Definitely going to stock up on these if they do well.

FX  Newbie Help with FX Hunter

So I just received a hunter compact that I plan to mount my arken zulus on and am wondering if anyone has a starting point.
I'm completely new to airguns and dint have a chrono yes but would like to get out and zero for 50 yards.
Is there ballistic numbers for .22 15.9gr pellets so I can use range finder?
Any zulus setting I should start at?

I need lots of help with fx as its my first.
Do I just start at stock settings with 15.9gr pellets?
How high do I fill tank?
Anything I'm missing please fill free as I'm trying to rush this and take advantage of a free morning off of work cause of 4th.
Happy independence day my friends and thank you for any help

Brocock/BRK  Young Boy on my Atomic XR…

I first saw this young man handling a Daisy lever action BB gun a month ago. His handling of that Daisy had me wanting to put the Atomic XR in his hands. Though we were a little overwhelmed today at Junior Sportsmens shoot night. I was able to let him try 20 shots… Targets at 15 yards, UTG red dot, sending CPHPs… The kid is a natural, next time I will let him punish a slew of cans at the same distance. Its all about the “next generation” for me… Definitely a good evening…

FX  Comparing the FX Wildcat to the Benjamin Akela

FX Wildcat Mk III - $1530 (refurbished)

1720039411848.png

Benjamin Akela - $600 (new)

I bought the Akela instead of the FX Wildcat because of price difference alone. I have been very happy with the Akela. Has anyone ever shot both and care to comment on the differences and whether you believe the price difference is worth it to own the Wildcat?

Optics  SOLD AGM Thermal Monocular Needs A New Home

I have a well taken care of agm fuzion TM35-640LRF monocular. This has spotted many many mice and without it I would have never seen them. A monocular amd NV combo is a killer setup and the 640 resolution is amazing. It works as it should and if you have any questions just ask. $2000 and it's yours the LRF is a great thing since you can't range in the dark with a traditional rangefinder this is built in and shows right on the display.

PCP Pistol  SOLD Huben GK1 v3 .25

Tired of waiting for these things to come in from preorder? Get yours as soon as next week.

This is a 2023 v3 .25 cal. It is essentially brand new (I’ve fired maybe 5 mags since I’ve owned it) and is in perfect condition. Holds air to the molecule since it’s been sitting in my drawer the last 6 months. Unbelievable gun.

Comes with original hard case, original and complete spare parts kit, fill probe, and an added red dot optic mount. Can include the Holosun reflex currently mounted in pics.

Asking $1100 shipped CONUS for everything except Holosun. $1250 with Holosun included. Get at me before I change my mind and unlist it.

FWB  Airguns of Arizona has more FWB Sports in stock for $695

Just saw them on their website.
General availability (but not a specific quantity. was confirmed by AoA sales.
I put 6 in my cart and it took that quantity to checkout. I could have bought them all I assume.

So if you were bummed that you missed the recent sell out, you have been given a second chance. A nice present on America's birthday.

Enjoy!

An Introduction

Good morning, all.

My is Tony and I live in Kamiah, Idaho. I am not new to PCP or breakovers. Most, if not all, have been in. caliper. But it has been a decade or more since I picked one up.

From what I have read and researched here and on YouTube the sport has gr4own in leaps and bounds.

Where I live, I have no access to HPA so I will need a compressor. This has been one of my research areas.

I have owned mostly Daystate PCP rifles. I have never owned a PCP pistol. I have looked at the Daystate Alpha and Delta Wolf and the Red Wolf. I am not the smallest person so I am concerned that the bullpup style stock may be to short. Unfortunately, I a=have been able to handle any of the mentioned weapons. Not sure I want all the bells and whistles of the Alpha or Delta.

I have also looked at the American Air Arms Evol. I do like the way this weapon is built and being American made.

Being in an isolated area of Idaho, with the big city being over 3 hours away, I must be able to work on any PCP I decide on. If anyone lives in Idaho or East Washington or Western Montana who owns one of these PCP and would not mind letting me handle the PCP let me know. I am retired and not afraid to travel. If not, I plan on making AoA a stop over this late fall on our trip back East -Tony
