22 Sidewinder = baby rattler

AOA Might be a problem
I put my deposit down on the Sidewinder, I do not need the big lead of the Rattler in my 48 yard back yard.
Truthful I am getting a little nervous on the deal, I bought a Uragan from AOA about a year ago went to buy parts for it and was told we don't service or stock or sale AGT guns or parts, It would suck to have a warranty issue ,, The Huban is looking pretty dam good.

pop... BOOM

That's the noise heard deep in the Everglades this evening, amidst a backdrop of rain, as I took a short break from driving, stopped by a WMA and helped out with their Bufo toad problem.

The AEA HP SS Max .30 using predator polymags absolutely, not even joking, sounds like the report of a firearm when it hits the target. Damage assessment confirmed that the combo is highly effective for humane dispatch.

There is something absolutely surreal about the target making a noise WAY louder than the report of the airgun. Pretty darn neat really, but the first round genuinely did surprise me - 40 years of shooting and hunting, and I've never seen anything quite like that.

New invention

dilemma - i find myself daily around the house grabbing an airgun and racking one in .. many times though the shot doesnt present itself and i put the gun back on the wall, dont want to leave it cocked so pull the mag, leave one in the pipe ... this puts it at a significant disadvantage 'the next time' when the action presents itself if i got to tote a mag and fumble with it after that first shot .. oh i could have shot that one in the pipe out and left the mag in, but in my high power guns that turns into a pain after a couple of days .. now i got to refill the mag AND re-air the gun to keep it ready .. its a very real aggravation i deal with around my place as said, almost daily ... what i want is a mag i can 'lock' the advance on, so i can decock the gun, recock it, THEN release the mag advance .. presto .. i need ideas .. i was thinking to drill and run something like a paperclip all the way through the protruding portion of the mag, something i could see and yank out easily ... would be easier if they just made a switch on the mag to hold it, doh ... any idreas before i start boring on my mags?

FX Atomic Pellets now available

Atomics-1.jpg

FX Airguns USA is pleased to announce an expansion to their growing line of ammunition. We now offer the FX Atomic Pellets. These pellets are at US FX dealers immediately.

*Correct, these are the same design as the JSB Hades, we're not trying to fool anyone ;). But why not offer this great shooting hunting pellet as part of our FX pellet offerings with the advantage of the dedicated quality control and batched offerings that we have with JSB on top of our steady supply of pellets that is better than ever (no shortages here).

Atomics-3.jpg

With expanding ammo options, it's more clear than ever that airgunners can pick the right tool for the job, and FX dealers have multiple options they can offer through their relationship with FX Airguns USA: whether that is standard domed FX Pellets, fragmenting FX Atomic Pellets, light weight FX Hybrids, Patriot Javelin Slugs, or the forthcoming FX Halos. Each serve a purpose and are a tool to tailor to what the shooter is looking for.

FX Atomic Pellets are engineered for precision and expansion down range. The unique "atomic" fragmented head of the pellets allows for more significant expansion while maintaining the accuracy you would expect your standard domed FX pellets. The greater expansion allows the ammunition to dump its energy upon impact, making the Atomics a great choice for hunting and pest control.

The grain weight is the exact to standard domed pellets, which allows little modifying or tuning to your rifle. There is also no need for an additional liner in FX rifles as the Atomics shoot superbly out of standard FX Superior STX barrels.

FX Atomic Pellets are on hand or in route to all US FX Airgun dealers. They are offered in .177, .22, .25 & .30. European dealers will need to check with their local JSB importer for future availability.

For a quiet AR style stock...

For anyone that has a gun that uses an AR (rifle) style stock, and wishes for something nicer and that doesn't rattle, read on. Seems like there is a few different guns out there.

I bought a couple of stocks to see what I'd replace the rattley, Magpul stock on my new American Air Arms, EVOL 15" rifle.
I really don't like the Magpul stock at all. I found a nice wood stock that wasn't too bad in cost, this, Odin Works, Zulu 2.0 stock.

It's very solid, highly adjustable for length, and also butt pad height, and rotation. The buffer tube has a nice foam cheek pad that's comfortable. Very easy to install. Has a (double) location for a strap at the back of the receiver. Should hold up well to any field abuse.

Anyway, just thought I'd mention it for those that might be interested.

Compressor vs Carbon Tank

I am getting older and carrying a scuba tank around is just not comfortable anymore. I am going to start shooting again after about a ten year absence. I see they now have small portable compressors available that could possibly be used onsite. For those who have them are they good enough to be used alone are should I just go ahead and buy one of the newer carbon fiber tanks? If the tank is the way to go then I can read the previous threads to decide on which one.
I shoot a CZ 200 with a scope. It has the removeable gas cylinder. Pic attached

New toys

Couple of new ,one new ,one used actually toys, the p17 is a bear to cock so I got the Chiappa for the ten meter basement shooting also to help with the 22lr bullseye league Midway has a couple left $419,sweet cocking about a third the beeman and a trigger just as nice , shoots awesome I know the family get togethers are gonna have some competitions. The Atomic came from AoA used, $150 below new, extra mag ,Odb moderator and a Harris red dot,the extras alone are over $300 plus used no sales tax that was like 43 bucks. So I saved around $500 buying used, and the gun came as described like new cond. not a scratch on it. The only thing I found wrong and no way AoA would even check this is a allen cap is stripped on the trigger slide for adjusting the position of trigger but I can live with it where it’s at,so after a rescheduled delivery day and getting the deliveries just after supper I wake up to 15 mph winds gusting to 20 and of course the last two days were dead calm. The Odb was still loud so I put on the Tko and it’s super quiet now, put the Odb on my Concept and it works a lot better on there just as quiet as the Tko my RedRyder is louder than both these, added my bug buster and UTG bipod and I’m ready to throw some lead, I shot as carbine last night with the red dot one clip offhand 25 yds half dollar group with Fx8.4s plan on using this for FT

Moderator conflicted

I am loving this site and finding a lot of great information While searching and Trying to figure all this new to me PCP stuff out. I have seen what seems to be conflicting information regarding the legal use of moderators. I saw the post below but I also see many sellers including retailers selling them as if they can swapped from gun to gun. Am I missing something?

Took advantage of Utahs free shipping and sale... who has a caiman or caiman x?

So I just love bullpups, and to be clear, a bullpup does not mean the cocking lever is forward of the cheek weld. The definition of a bullpup for those who don't know , a bullpup is a rifle with its firing grip located in front of the breech instead of behind it or worded another way a rifle that places the action and magazine behind the trigger. I only bring this up because there are members here who knock certain rifles such as the taipan not calling them a true bullpup because of the cocking lever. I like bullpups due to the short stature while still having plenty of barrel length due to the design.

Well yesterday UA had free shipping and the Caiman and Caiman X were on sale. I opted for the Caiman (ive been eyeing them forever!) as it is even shorter than my Taipan Compacts and lighter. I ordered it in .22 w/ natural wood stock and I went with it over other makes because I enjoyed my Katran, I think there is just something about those airguns out of the eastern european block, theyre just really nice ... I am just far more drawn to them after owning my taipans and also the short period I had a katran (that i regrettably traded to try fx) so here I am.

I ordered it with a budget UTG Bugbuster 3-12x32 as this rifle isn't going to have any rests attached to it and is going to be my farm pigeon/indoor off hand pester and while I enjoy my high end scopes, the bugbuster performs well for its price point.

Who here has a caiman? Lets see those setups and hear your thoughts. I really think this is going to compliment my collection really well, really really well.... I have high hopes.
