SOLD Weirauch HW50s

Extremely nice HW50s, .177 cal. Bought new 2 years ago, tuned by John Thomas to a smooth and backyard-friendly 10 ft pounds. On my good days I’ve shot 3/8” ctc groups at 25yards off sticks, which I can’t match with my TX.
The rifle is mechanically perfect; and I would guess has had less than 2500 shots through it. Trigger is crisp, breaking at around 12 oz. There is a visible pressure mark on the upper left side fore stock, but otherwise is in great condition. I have also invested in several upgrades that really transform the gun: Rowan set back trigger, barrel brake, Morgan adjustable butt pad, padded comb riser.
I will include the pictured Plano case and pick up shipping. $360.00

FX Royale 500 AOA Repair, Upgrade, & Maintenance Complete

A few months back, I purchased a beautiful walnut FX Royale 500 in .25. It was obviously one of the earlier ones. Though it shot well upon receipt, a few weeks later it began to leak off while in the vault. Upon disassembly, I noticed that some channel locks at been applied to the bottle at some point in the past, and decided to send it in to Shane at AOA for a complete inspection, reseal, and repair as needed.

Shane provided tremendous service and value, as he found several things wrong with the rifle, which he corrected. At my inquiry, he also converted the rifle to a carbon fiber bottle, and the balance is now far superior to when the original steel bottle was installed. I received it back yesterday, meticulously packaged and shipped, cleaned the barrel, mounted the Athlon Argos 8-32x56 FFP scope, and proceeded to sight it in and test it.

This rifle shoots the 25.4 and 33.95 gr pellets about equally accurate, so I settled on the 25.4 to keep the trajectory as flat as possible. This rifle is only shooting at +/- 40 fpe but the accuracy is great.

After setting everything up and testing over the chrono on my indoor range, I took it outside and established the scope click points using Strelok Pro with actual shots at different yardages to verify.

Photos of the rifle, test results, and trajectory chart can be found below. Note, all groups were 10 shot groups. The groups with the chrono readings were indoors at 18 yards. The 1" target dot was at 83 yards.

SOLD *** SOLD *** AAA EVOL Mini .22

*** SOLD ***

What can I say about these guns which hasn't already been said by so many others? Just a beautiful gun to look at, and even more beautiful is the design & engineering, and the quality of its build. But more gun than I need in this form factor as a compact powerhouse, so I am putting it up for sale.

No real blemishes anywhere I can see on the gun. AAA must use a very hard aluminum coating/anodizing as I don't even see any marks on the lower Pic rail where the bipods were attached. Comes with the 1 OEM magazine shown in the pic. For the price listed, DOES NOT come with the scope & rings shown in the pic.

Tuned to shoot JSB 18.13's very accurately at an average muzzle velocity of 870 fps. That's how it was when I bought it - I have not adjusted it.

Not looking for trades or offers.

$1,885 shipped CONUS, paid for via PP 'Friends' (sorry but I don't have any other electronic forms of payment available - my local bank doesn't partner with Zelle).

Please ask any questions via PM. First 'I'll take it' gets priority on this sale.

Thanks,
Tom

[UPDATE: BUYER BEWARE] Quick thoughts & PSA on the new Sekhmet 25mm digital gauges

12.3.2022 Update: Do NOT buy these gauges - they're garbage and leak no matter what you do and if/when you try to contact the manufacturer, you'll get crap service. I don't think it's a coincidence that these gauges have since been drastically reduced in price to $38.99 - as if Sekhmet is admitting that they are junk (they're still not worth purchasing even at $38.99 b/c they leak). You can follow my experience with these newer 25mm gauges here:

Hello AGN:

I've been using the Sekhmet 28mm digital gauges on my rifles for a couple of years now and like them pretty well b/c they were a very nice upgrade from the problematic Edgun EDMU gauges. The Sekhmets not only have better functionality compared to the EDMU, they have a rechargeable battery that provides pretty good life between charges (whereas the EDMU's burned through batteries at an absurd rate and changing them was a serious PITA). The only drawbacks to these 28mm Sekhmets were: 1) they're overkill if you wanted a simple digital gauge for a regulator and 2) they're expensive.

I recently saw that they released a new, smaller and trimmed down 25mm version and picked up a few to use with my FX Impacts. Here is a summary of my first couple of weeks with them:

PROS:
  • They're cheaper @ $65/each compared to $96/each for the 28mm gauge
  • They're easy to use; unlike its bigger brother, there's only one function (which is to display pressure in bars) so you can quickly and easy see the regulator pressure when needed
  • They're smaller and lighter; they work much better on the FX Impact Angle Bracket compared to the 28mm and won't interfere with the cocking motion
  • They come in a nice matte black finish so there's no need to use an extra outer cover on them
  • The display has bigger numbers, which are easier to read (at the right angle/lighting - more details below in the CONS)

CONS:
  • While the numbers on the screen are bigger, the display is reminiscent of your 1984 LCD calculator so the numbers are not brightly lit up like the bigger gauges so they can be difficult to read if viewing from the wrong angle or lighting
  • At $65/ea, these are still expensive for what they are - which is a single function gauge
  • On the Impact, if you install one of these at the Regulator 1 position, you'll see some weird behavior where the readout will show your Reg 1 pressure, steadily drop about 15 bars then quickly raise back up to the normal Reg 1 pressure. This happens continuously; I can't tell if this is normal behavior for this gauge or if it was because I had a slow leak in the initial installs (more details below)
  • There is no menu option (there's no menu, period) to flip the screen so however your gauge screws into your rifle, that's how it's going to sit so you might end up having to read the gauge at an awkward angle or even upside down
And now the PSA related to the last CON above: if you are using these on your Impact or other FX rifle, you'll want to remove the 3.63x2.62mm x-ring that's current under your gauge and install the gauge using the white PTFE rubber gasket that comes with the gauge. These gauges won't properly seal with the normal x-ring and will leak no matter how you try to re-install them. When using the white PTFE gasket, you have to hand screw in the gauge very, very tightly until you can't turn it anymore with your hand - only then will it fully seal. Anything short of this will also result in a leak. This might be common knowledge when using this type of gasket but I'd only used the rubber x-rings up until now and just learned this myself.

[12.3.2022 update: I spoke too soon about the slow leaks in the original post. Shortly after this post, I discovered that the gauges still leaked and I ended up gradually tightening even further with a wrench - and, no matter what, they still always leaked. I wasted a lot of time and air troubleshooting the leaks and ended up sending them back to Sekhmet at their request...and they've yet to process an exchange or refund. I had to dispute the charge with my credit card company - really horrendously poor service from these guys.]

While I was glad to finally resolve the leaking issue, the problem with having to tighten the gauge this much (combined with the inability to flip the display on the screen) is that you'll most likely end up with the gauge installed at some random, awkward angle that might not be easy to read. With the other gauges and the x-ring, you only had to screw it in until it was snug then you could adjust the rotation slightly to an angle that was easy to read. Even if not fully tightened, the x-ring will seal once pressurized. With the 28mm Sekhmets, if that final install position was upside down, you just used the menu to flip the display 180* and problem is resolved - that's not the case with these new 25mm gauges so Sekhmet really should add that functionality to these gauges.

Here are some pics of the gauges and how they're installed on the Impact:

was warm today so turned on the ac, walked by the air handler which is floor level in this house, and the floor was wet .. i checked it out and the drain pipe is clogged .. im like man, im tired ready to eat and im going to have to drag a water hose in here and make a big mess to clean up .. have no fear, i pushed a hpa hose in the line and shoved a sock around it to kinda seal it. hooked a buddy bottle to it and blasted the slime out, which shot out the opening outside .. quick and painless lol .. 5 minute job ..

Just spend this afternoon shooting the most amazing airgun

The Daisy 753S. I was offered some new in the box at a fair price, guns are this years production. I decided to keep one. I have heard what a great shooter these are. Wow the rumor is true. First thought was the Pilk trigger tune. Since getting them I read a thread were later guns had a better trigger in them, The do, very nice two stage trigger straight out of the box. Very predictable first stage stack, than a steady nice clean break. Ones it has a 1000+ pellets though it it should be even better. I was shooting 19 yards (57feet) offhand and hitting my NRA airgun swinging ram and chicken. I was also shooting 10 meter paper airifle targets. Using JSB SCHak 8.2 flat nose pellets. The gun will shoot, and it is such a fun little gun with a big rep. Here are some pictures of this afternoon. Paper targets were shot of a make shift rest. Swingers were shoot offhand. The first paper target is a five round group. The second paper target has two flyers out of five shots. I was able to call both fliers, so not the guns fault. All shooting was done with the factory sights and the 10 meter front circle.

Top finishes at 100Y BR - skill or luck?

For quite a while now it's been debated that 100Y BR with pellets required too much "luck" to repeatably finish near the top in the RMAC and EBR type competitions...
A counterpoint to that might be this year, where:
The truly impressive performance of both Jeffrey Hernandez and Nicolay Boldov at EBR. Nicolay finished 2nd the second year in a row (2021, 2022) after finishing first in 2019. And Jeffrey finished first Sportsman in 2021 (and 2nd overall) and first in 2022. Other notable performances were Kjell Pehrson who finished 3rd at 2022 RMAC and 4th at 2022 EBR, and Keith Gibson who won RMAC in 2021 and finished 4th in 2022. There goes that theory flying out the window that repeatable top finishes are not possible because there is "too much luck" involved at 100Y with pellets. Either that, or those guys brought a bushel of rabbit's feet with them!
