SOLD Aztec 5.5-25x50 FFP Scope

I’m downsizing my “arsenal” to fund another interest, and this scope‘s rifle has been sold…
FFP scope with a great reticle for field target or any discipline using holdover, includes a 4” focusing wheel. Scope ranges accurately at 16x, with nice yardage spacing between long yard marks. Nice glass, solid turrets, clear and simple reticle, this scope is a great choice for Hunter field target. There are a couple of minor surface marks, but glass and mechanical functions are perfect. I’ll include medium rings and pay shipping conus. I’ll be adding photos later today, $325.00. Thanks.

SOLD Walther LGU 22cal UTG Scope

I bought this gun 3? years ago on a whim, but since then I became obsessed with my PCP guns so I only put a tin of pellets through the LGU….mechanically, it is essentially new with scope as well.

Unfortunately! as you can see, I left it in a case and it developed the rust that you see in the pics. The stock is perfect as is everything else except for the rusted areas, including scope screws

I thought to reblue it but since I am not using it, I would like to sell it.
It’s sighted in at 15 yards and shoots into essentially one hole

This is an incredible gun but I like the PCP’s much more

I paid almost $700 for the gun and if I remember correctly, $250 or so for the scope and mounts, so I am into the gun for almost $1,000

That said due to the condition of the gun, I am not expecting top dollar but I won’t give it away either

If anyone is serious about the gun, message me and hopefully we can agree on a fair to both of us price.

I do want to sell the gun so I will consider reasonable offers

Thanks!

Its a Before & After

I ended up taking a shot on this guy once he was out in the middle of the yard at about 20 yards. Aimed for the head and took my shot. WHACK! An extreme happy dance ensued and he relocated to another part of the yard about 15 yards away. Checked him out through the Hawke and I must have missed his cute little noggin. He was just sitting there in distress. Levered up for my second shot and CRACK! Tail curled up and slowly straightened out with no movement.

Ultimate AirForce Talon SS setup?

I used to have an Air Force Talon SS and I regretfully sold it. Now I'd like to re-acquire a nice setup with a couple barrel/valve options.

I mainly shoot paper so accuracy, range, and air-efficiency are my primary drivers. I'm trying to decide between .177/.22, short/long/heavy barrels.

What is the most accurate setup? .22 with 24" heavy barrel?

What is the most efficient setup? .177 short barrel?

Any valves or trigger mods recommended?

Tuning  Fx Wildcat Bt Compact and medium/heavy .25 slugs

Hi guys,
greetings from Italy and this is my first post in here. Planning to buy a Wildcat .25 Bt Compact, love the Compactness and the power.
I would like to shoot 30/33/35 grain Zan Slugs
In my mind I would like to shoot them around 950/1000 fps with a Very low extreme spread, I do not want to deal with FX reg creep so I decided to buy 2 huma’s reg, huma slug power kit,High Flow new V2 Dual Hole Transfer Port and if necessary a Tungsten hammer.
I have few questions:
1) how many bars should I set the first and second regulator?
2) What kind of accuracy Should I aspect from a standard 500 mm barrel?
3) Should I buy a Heavy liner?

Thanks, any help is appreciate.

Question about regulator pressures?

My Huben has 2 gauges - one for the air cylinder and one for the regulator volume chamber.

After rebuilding the regulator - replaced the o-rings and lubed up the bellevue washers, I've been keeping an eye on the gauges looking for leaks, etc.

Over the past week, the air cylinder gauge has been steady at 185, but the regulator gauge has been dropping slowly, first 170 and now a week later 160. Is this just the regulator "settling" in after the rebuild or is there a leak? Or is this so-called "regulator creep". I would have thought with a leak somewhere in the gun, the gauge on the air cylinder would drop too?

Kral gets another DRT!

Got this grey burying the pecans around the yard. Waited for him to get back to the shooting station and hit I'm with a 17.5grn NSA slug leaving the muzzle at 28 fpe out of my Kral Pro 500(in a jumbo stock).
He laid over, took a couple breaths and expired. Not a single flop. Went threw right shoulder, hit both lungs and heart, and broke the left shoulder and stayed just under the skin. Some would say that was a perfect shot... I agree with them!

more on my AA S510

more playing with my new to me S510 . well another mystery ? went to try a moderator on this gun , simple just unscrew the thread protector and ??? what not 1/2 x 20 ?
looks to me it is a threaded barrel measured @ 37/64 diameter threads ?? Owner had a mod on it but did not sell with the gun . looking on the net and nothing found .
Donny FL has a male to male adaptor but states it will not work with a S510 that came with a moderator ?

If you bought a AA S 510 with a factory mod you can't change the adaptor ? and what is that thread anyway ?

One hole group challenge - smallest group size

For a nice indoor ( or outdoor) winter challenge, how about shooting for smallest overall group size possible. I propose the following:

1. Minimum 15 feet distance from shooter to target
2. Any airgun platform you care to use. Optics ok.
3. 5 shot groups on paper or card stock
4. Either 177 or 22 caliber.
5. Score by measuring outside overall group diameter in millimeters.
6. Keep it safe - don't shoot the fridge or the cat!

Your "target" for group size would be 4.52 in 177 cal and 5.52 in 22.

Here's my target sheet for today. My entry is lower right target (all the others sucked 🤣) I am shooting 177 cal from 6 yards (I am trying to keep in sync with the NRA targets I use which are 15 feet/5yds.)

.20 HW98 Performance and Maintenance Review

A few days ago on AGN, a newbie inquired on a post (always very subjective) something to the effect of what is the best break barrel rifle balancing accuracy and power. I have owned several models and calibers of the different Weihrauch rifles over the years. Most of them were really great and accurate rifles in their own right. And even though everyone says the 98, R9, and 95 are basically the same rifles, in my experience, the R9s and the 98s are the best day in and day out shooters of all of the models, on a consistent basis. Find a good older R9 to purchase on line, and you will likely get a rifle that will shoot. If you want a new rifle, to me, the safe bet is the 98. Between rifles I have purchased new and those I have helped friends acquire and tune, I have probably had my hands on six to eight 98s, and they all shoot.

This particular rifle was acquired new from AOA in March of 2021. Truthfully, it shot pretty well out of the box, but had too much "buzz" for me and I thought I could improve on the accuracy and the smoothness of the trigger. So disassembly began after having only shot maybe 30 shots with it out of the box. I did a complete tear down of the rifle and the trigger, hand polishing all of the "working" metal surfaces on both. I went back with a Vortek PG4 Steel HO kit, removing coils to the point it would shoot somewhere in the 14.5 to 15.5 fpe range, which I typically find is the max power limit in a springer to have a good energy output for killing tree rats while maintaining accuracy.

This rifle turned out like all of my other 98 experiences, it just shoots lights out every time. It is smooth and the trigger breaks like glass. Testing all of the available .20 pellets, this one shows a preference for the H&N 11.42 gr pellets. After the initial tune, it was consistently shooting 10 shot groups of +/- 1" at 50 yards.

Pulling it out of the vault yesterday, upon careful inspection, not much had changed. I haven't really shot this rifle very much, so the barrel was nearly spotless from the last time I cleaned it. The scope and stock screws hadn't moved. And at the first shot at 18 yards on the indoor range, it missed dead center by maybe 1/8" inch.

The final test results can be seen below. For someone wanting a consistent, well built rifle, that will stand the test of time, an HW98 is hard to beat.

BTW - the .20 is absolutely my favorite springer caliber. Every .20 rifle I own is extremely accurate. While I am not sure that is universal, it just happens to be my experience.

The squirrel and the Coyote - DS Revere

Hi gang,

It’s Saturday night, and I have never posted a squirrel hunting story.

I have a backyard woods behind my house. It is usually target rich with critters of all types: Squirrels, Raccoons, Foxes, Possums, and Coyotes. Lots of Hawks also.

Today, I shot a squirrel at 37 yards on one of my favorite squirrel runs. A downed tree, but one large branch above ground about 2-12 feet.

I have a Scope Werks big wheel on my Athlon 6-24X50 Helos FFP scope. Magnification at 9X. Zero’d at 25 yards. I placed the .22 Revere on my window sill and had a JSB 18.1 in the DS magazine.

I see a squirrel on the branch, take my time, and gently squeeze with a perfect trigger. I hear a loud pop. Aimed at his head. I see him fall down, then run 10 yards. He apparently ran into a big hole left from a fallen OAK tree. I go out And cannot find the squirrel.

Crap. I am 100% sure I hit him good.

Fast forward an hour to dusk. A Coyote is in the woods. He goes to where I was 30 minutes prior. He is rooting around near where I saw the squirrel run too.

You guessed it! He comes out of the hole with my dead squirrel in his mouth.

So, I did get him!

I loved the way this story ended. I got a squirrel and Coyote got dinner.
😀😀

Buddy Bottles, Damage and Testing

Looked everywhere for information, but its surprisingly lacking.

What experience does everyone have with Buddy Bottles - Specifically Damage to them and Testing?

So I was re-positioning the bipod, and part of the metal clasp started digging in to the Buddy Bottle while I was tightening it - Leaving two small dents, not overly deep, but you can see the silver under the carbon, and you can feel them with your finger.

Now Buddy Bottles already say you should technically get them testing every 5 years anyway.... but most diving places I know don't have the ability to test buddy bottles due to the valve on the bottles.

So what experience have people got with buddy bottles, any damage sustained to them through use (or in my case idiocy), and has anyone ever gotten one tested before?

I bought this gun new as a walnut classic mid 2022. I added the Saber Tactical chassis and the FX tactical kit that includes the raised picatinny scope rail, external hammer spring adjustment wheel and flip safety. I'm including the gun, original unused .22 magazine, fill probe, thread protector and 3D printed barrel band. I'll include the original receipt so the buyer can have the remaining warranty.
I'm asking $1150.00 shipped to lower 48.
Local pickup or delivery within 100 miles of OKC for $1100.00.
I'm not interested in any trades right now.

Tuning  Why do others not copy twistrates FX superior liners

I believe that FX has meanwhile found the close to “ holy grail” of twist rates to shoot pellets and slugs equally well with their” superior liners .” With the production methods of the liner production system of FX where the rifling is pressed in from the outside FX have the possibility to test easy and cost effective many variables in very ahort time frame. Wich they obviously did according to the many videos about this subject on the internet. Conventional barrel production methods are not so easy and economic to do such extensive testing . This advantage from FX made that FX obviously found the best twist rates for their liners / barrels supported by the results exposed all around. The South African partners from FX have contributed a lot to this experimenting and developing on what many shooters around the globe can be thankful for.
My question now is why do the conventional barrel producers lik CZ and Lothar Walther not just copy the so well developed features of the FX liners into their barrels to achieve equally well results with their supplies to the airgun brands. It looks so easy from the outside to do so hence have equally allround barrels that shoot pellets and slugs equally well.
Thanks for your appreciated opinions here

SOLD SOLD * New AirMaks Krait in .22 cal imported from Krale *Reduced to $1,000 shipped *

SOLD within a few minutes of --> Updated with price drop to $1,000 shipped and added more info on 12/5/22 -->

I purchased this .22 cal AirMaks Krait from Krale US as soon as they were released in Europe a couple of months ago. I prefer small light compact PCP carbines as I get older. It came directly from the AirMaks factory with the original regulator and parts and one .22 cal magazine. I've never had a chance to try an FX Impact, which seems somewhat similar in overall form to the Krait. And I wanted a chance to directly compare the new compact side-lever Krait to the more expensive Edgun Leshiy 2, and to a less expensive AEA semi-auto.

The Krait is nicely designed and functional little compact, with a smooth side lever which cycles well. The sound level seems about comparable to a Leshiy2 with 250mm barrel at a similar power level, maybe a bit deeper pitch. I tested a few dozen pellets through it before deciding to sell it. At the original hammer spring tension with which the rifle was received, 16.36gn HN Terminators shot at 845f/s or ~26fpe. Two turns on the hammer spring adjustment raised velocity to 941f/s or ~32.2 fpe. No other adjustments were made, and no instructions came with the rifle explaining how to adjust the regulator pressure. I just shot a few magazines of pellets through it, liked the build but decided again for about the 6th time that I prefer semi-automatic carbines over manual repeaters regardless of cost.

The sale includes the rifle itself, one fill probe with a Foster quick-connect fitting I screwed onto the end, a fill hose with what looks like a scuba(?) tank fitting on one end, one .22 cal magazine, and a 3D printed synthetic single-shot tray I'd ordered separately but have never tried. Plus the foam lined carry case it came in.

The asking price includes shipping within the US for the items shown in the pictures. It will all be very well padded and double boxed. Since this is a new model line it's hard to predict how these will work out in the long run. I didn't run enough pellets through the rifle to check the regulator well and the case didn't include any adjustment instructions. I read somewhere on a different forum that the newly released Katran/Krait magazines might not work correctly in the Krait. The magazine which came with the rifle works fine.

The compact Krait certainly competes well against other more established manufacturers when it to small size and quietude and external adjustments. But mostly side-lever actions just aren't the right fit for me anymore and I don't want another rifle to Mod and work on. The rifle cost me $1,390 a couple of months ago and, because the Krait is a new model in the market, with all the uncertainties that might include, I've decided to drop the price to $1,000 even and leave it there for now to see what happens. I've had a couple of inquiries so far but no solid offers to buy yet.

No counter offers or trades accepted. I can usually get to UPS within three of days of receipt of payment and will post the tracking info for the shipment as soon as I get it myself.

Thanks for looking
