First up is my Airmaks Caiman, totally surprised me when I tested it after first buying it.

I havent done a true shot string till I have seen fall off but I am getting at least 25 shots per fill off this tiny rifle .It is shooting .22 hades at 880fps with crazy good accuracy out to 65 yards (max I have tested it, full mag in a quarter sized hole)

I have it equipped with a bugbuster 3-12x32 which focuses down to 3 yards, a donnyfl sumo, and an armageddon single point sling. Such a handy rifle! Looks good too :)

Next up is my AGT Uragan .30

I have yet to take anything with this rifle but that is due to a few permissions getting cold feet, I don't blame them, to give someone permission you barely know access to your property to shoot is a BIG DEAL, either way I have some coyote permissions in the work and that is where this rifle will shine. It is very short at 32 inches total, quiet enough to not need a suppressor and putting out just under 90 fpe out of the box and is easily MOA at 100 if you were to do your part.

It is shooting JSB 50.15 knockouts at 875 fps for about 4 magazines which is about 36 shots. This rifle is a heavy heavy hitter and only 32" in length

It is topped with a US Optics TS12x and USO level, I typically shoot this rifle off my qd br-4 g2 accu-tac

Last but not least my favorite that doesn't get shot much

Its my Taipan .22 Compact in an original mutant stock

I have used this to take rats as well as birds, its often atop a tripod fixed position for my ratting permission but it does come off and get shot off hand or off tractor hoods etc, very versatile tool that is incredibly boring to shoot, I haven't pulled it out in 2 months, makes me sad but I just am not wowed when I shoot it, its very monetonous and does the exact same thing time and time again without fault. It was even dropped from 5 feet and it changed nothing lol

It is shooting .22 hades for about 40-45 shots at 880 fps I have shot this rifle out to 115 yards breaking 4 inch clays with ease shooting 18.13, not sure if it would group well at that yardage but doesn't matter as I will not take a shot on an animal with it at that yardage.

Its equipped with a Sightmark Wraith 4k mini with external battery pack, a huggett atom moderator (not needed but makes this thing a whisper) , and some 3d printed goodies.

NLA WTT RAW HM1000x .20/.25 for 22 Evol

Mint Black Laminate Sporter stock with both sling studs, adjautable butpad, Pre Air Force HM1000X, #1610, .25 action, freshly resealed, 20 MOA pic rail has wear w .20 barrel kit and mag per caliber. I Miss my Evol, need a 22 PCP, have 3 RAW’s and just hit my head and an idea fell out!!! I might regret this and relist as before ....action, stock FS but no barrels. Bottle available also. This was one of the very last actions preAF merger at #1610. Has thinner holding port so the .20 mag will need to be sanded to fit as it’s the newer wider model FYI.
Will trade for minty AAA Evol .22 OR minty preAF HM1000x Thumbhole Laminate stock with check riser in red, yellow or blue in 22/25/357 w mags. Anywho I might wake up in a sec and regret this and pull the ad but if it’s up let’s see what can happen. Each pays shipping. Thanks and Merry Christmas.
Working on better pics..sorry. More I look at it more I get queezy lolz

To Shape Or Not To Shape...That Is The Question

As a recreational precision .22 rimfire shooter, I know how important ammunition is to repeating precise shots, but I'm new to the PCP world. With my rimfire rifle at the range I'm content shooting one ragged hole at 50 yards, and I'd like to get there in my 20-yard backyard range with my Gamo Urban. When I opened my first tin of JSB Exact Jumbo Diablo 15.89 pellets and saw most of the skirts were bent I was concerned. But should I be? I don't know what I don't know and am hoping for some guidance from the more experienced airgunners here. I read a lot of information, watched a lot of videos, and considered a lot of tools. After all that I narrowed my plan down to one of two strategies:

Strategy 1: Reshape and resize the skirt. I could buy into this if it results in better accuracy. Here's a video showing an affordable, easy method.

Strategy 2: Just shoot them as they are. According to Tom Gaylord (who seems pretty credible) in this Pyramid Air blog, Tom says most high-quality adult air guns have choked muzzles that squeeze the pellet by one-half of a thousandth of an inch at the muzzle. That automatically sizes all the pellets and negates any other sizing efforts.

Your thoughts?

Paintball regulator and plenum sizing

So I'm making a drop block build and was wondering if the little paintball regulators for the bottle has any plenum area?

Trying to see how much plenum I have with this setup. Wanting to get 20 fpe max.

14.5" 22 barrel
Reg set at 1500 psi
250cc bottle
250 bar fill

This is what I'm working with. Has maybe 1/4" passages about 4" total length. Screws directly into valve.

Picking a compressor

I have a Yong Heng for a while now. Just to much trouble to use for a fill or two. So I bought one of the GS-CX2 portable 12 volt/110V compressor. It worked really well especially for it's size. It was a little slow but not a real issue. The issue I had with it is no automatic cut off. You had to baby sit it. So I returned it for the larger GS-CX3, this one has the automatic cutoff but the power converter is a separate piece as well. Unboxed it and got ready to use it. Pushed the on button, nothing. No power to the power button. The converter powered up and ran fine. So e-mail the vendor for a retune and a replacement. Return no issue but he was out of stock on the compressor. Nearest price on the same compressor was 125.00 more than what I paid for the dead on arrival one. So back to the drawing board for some more research. All of these look to use the same or like same compressor under the cover. So I picked one form Toauto https://www.ebay.com/itm/383998374016.
It has a couple of different features that I like better over the GS-CS3. One button for on/off. Built in converter and digital display. It powered up right out of the box. Have not aired up any guns yet, will get to it tomorrow.

A fun day hunting collared doves

Took "Headbanger" (380mm 22 crown) out today and shot collared dove....time to get them all cleaned up and ready for the family over Christmas. I will breast them out then put a pickled Jalapeño between the breasts, wrap them in bacon, then onto the BBQ they will go...TASTY!!!!

Birds were from 50 yards to the long of 97 yards. Most shots were 50-70 yards though.

Tuning  Another Maverick question

I’ve asked this before in a different way-
Why can’t I get more consistent string on my shots. Wide spreads on the shots usually caused by 1 or 2 high or low velocities. The gun is compact, 500mm, .22. 1st reg at 130, 2nd at 105. Shooting FX15.89 pellets. PW set at 4 and ihs at about 3 turns ( I’ve varied the ihs only slightly 1/8 turns). Got maybe 4000 shots thru it.
Here are just 3 examples/strings-

4592B806-C11E-4CBD-BC3E-F5C991667699.jpeg

Why would I get 1 or 2 random shots, 30 or more fps from the average. I want to go out to greater distances but I know my accuracy will suffer. At 25 I’m inside of a quarter inch most of the time. If it’s ever more than 1/2 inch it’s my “error”.
Help!!
I have looked and polished the sear, the idea of a hammer that might have a nick in it, I’ve gone up and down on pressure of 2nd reg and varied the hs til I am blue in the face. I must be doing something wrong soooo……
I would appreciate a few things to try from more knowledgeable folks on this board.

Air pistol question, pellets, more power.

Hello,
I have a crossman p1322 22cal air pistol.
Unfortunately it doesn't have the power i need.
Im using crosman premier hollow point 14.3 gr. Pellets and they do not penetrate well.
Can someone recommend a better pellet for this gun ?
Also i want to know if there is a more powerful pellet pistol than mine other than co2 type.
Thank you.

FX Maverick power

Hello guys
All my guns are European brands Edgun / Cricket - these I know enough info about.. I like to shoot with power

I am new to FX world. Trying to do some shortcut - picking your brain/experience

Just gut myself Maverick Sniper .25 (knowing that M3 is slightly more power out of box)

Can anyone tell me what is the max power/speed Maverick could be toned with? 25/30 cal ? Can it be adjusted to move -for example - 38 grain slugs over 900 fps in 25 cal?

NLA Trade me something for my FX Impact / Maverick / Crown 0.25 600mm Pellet Liner

  • 0.22 or 0.25 JSB Hades pellets

BRK Ghost Carbine, first 3 minute impression

After opening the nice, somewhat heavy plastic case, looking at the gun...I thought...nice !

But when my hands started "caressing" the frame and the bolted, part to part fitup, A mild depression set in ! First thought...If I were the designer, I'd be embarrassed that the part fitup is so bad. I even loosened the lower trigger guard to better center it on the main block...no-go, it was already as "centered" as it was going to get. That is without a bit of file work !

Lets hope that the main block and the rear piece of the frame can be better centered by loosening some fasteners and the parts moved around .

So far the part to part fit, is that of a $300 special ! My <$600 Kral Empire XS has better intimate, part to part fitup than this $2000 gun.

Lets hope that this gets better !!
Off to load, and do some shooting.

Oh yeah, what's up BRK, you couldn't use pressure gauges that are freaking readable without a magnifying glass ? Have to call on Huma for some readable gauges !

Cross eye dominant AND progressive lens shooting

Just getting into air guns and got a FX Wildcat Mk3. I'm right handed and left eye dominant, and wear progressive lens glasses. This is probably the worst combination to have when shooting. No problems shooting a firearm pistol right handed, as I just hold it in line with my left eye and keep both eyes open.

I've looked at a bunch of threads here and a lot are regarding wearing glasses, and a lot with cross eye dominant, but I didn't see much at all dealing with both.

I've got my target at 30 yards in my backyard and using a Hawke 4x16-44 scope and shooting right handed which is definately more comfortable to me.

First I tried closing my left eye with glasses on. I couldn't get a very clear image through the scope. Same thing with both eyes open.

Taking my glasses off gave me a good clear image, so then tried closing my left eye but it feels odd trying to keep pressure to keep the left eye closed and trying to focus on the target with the weaker right eye. This seems to be the best scenario so far, but wondering what others with the same situation do. I've seen the patch/block on the left eye lens of the glasses, but I think the progressive lenses are screwing up that method.

What's your best solution for those with the same issue?

Guess I didn't see one of these until a few days ago.

I came across the Western airguns Rattler video on American Airgunners YT channel.. The one hosted by the guy that looks like Shawn from the show Psyc. I guess I had never seen this airgun before. Very interesting rifle but it seems to me, well it looks like a scaled up version of my Huben K1? Anyone know if it was designed by the Huben company or if I'm just off base?

My personal collection

I’ve been air gunning for abt 15 years. My go to on break barrels is my gamo hornet in .22 with a sorovee scope . My others are a gamo bone collector.22 & a gamo silent cat in .177 . All are good shooters but are no comparison to my latest . An air Venturi avenger in .25 with a vortex scope. Its trigger is crisp & the gun is very accurate. I do a lot of bench shooting & some squirrel hunting with them & the Ava is hands down a pleasure to shoot.

Level's, Level's I don't need no stinkin Level's or so I thought

I have mounted some where north of 500 scopes in my life, after 30+ years in the pawn/gunstore employment. Not to mention my airgun hobby. I have never used level's to mount scopes, other tricks to get it setup or so I thought. Well last night I used a couple of level's to mount a coupled of scopes. I will never be with out them again. It was the easiest mounting I have ever done, not to mention it was straight with the bore first attempt. Guys if you are not using levels. give it a try you won't regret it.

Sorted 1000 FX 25.39 pellets

Once again I sorted a bunch of pellets. These were JSB branded FX. The majority were 25.4, 25.3, 25.5, 25.2 respectively. The spread was from 24.9 to 26.0. My thought on sorting ...if your shooting steel, stuff or pests your needed accuracy may be good enough not sorting. But if you're shooting paper the pellet spread will be a deal breaker....the farther out you go.
