Get out your P17!

Started off with iron sights.
😩cocking it makes a shift no matter what. Sooooooo.... i figured out a way to scope it.....then i wanted a variable scope🤣🤔🤨
The iron sight dug into my hand a bit so I got some sticky back felt and slapped it over top.
But then I almost shot my finger by having it up under the barrel* the scope out farther making me think it's the barrel* so I put a small patch of felt underneath the barrel for reference to not put my finger past aaaand anywhere i felt the frame rubbing my hand wrong i also put some felt.over🤣🤌
Cut in a dovetail on the last 2 ribs and taDA!
*sorry, pics are kinda out of order

What all have you done to your p17s?!🤗

Help finding a steel target manufacturer

A good friend of mine has this swinger set. I like to buy one but unfortunately he can't remember where he got it from. I own an awesome larger set, but what I like about this one is the size and portability. The complete swinger set is about 8x10 inches. Great when practicing away from home. Any ideas?? Tks in advance :)

Haven’t posted here in a while…a question for the machining experts and anyone else who wants to chime in…in regards to polishing…

So I ran into a guy who claims my polishing job is “pretty poopty.” This individual claims my polish isn’t a mirror finish and lacks the factory luster. But, I’ve compared my work to a factory finish (The last picture is factory finish from a video I watched)…and I honestly cannot see what I’m missing. They want me to send my parts to them so they can polish it on a lathe…but I’m also using machining equipment!

This is the piston tube/housing from a Walther LGU. It was rusted and I attempted a repair on my own as I have repaired a few Weihrauch rifles, a Diana 34, and TX200 in the past. Let me know what you think…one opinion isn’t going to cut it for me. The first picture is a second polish I just did again.

SOLD [SOLD] Selling one of my babies: FX Impact M3 Compact Black 0.22 500mm w/ Extras

[No trade offers on this listing please...]

Hello AGN,

I'm looking to sell a super nice FX Impact M3 Black Compact w/ 300cc bottle & 0.22 caliber 500mm barrel (Superior liner w/ carbon fiber barrel liner installed) w/ 1 high capacity magazine, FX stackable moderator, FX foster fitting, bottle clamp, stainless steel bolts, original sales receipt and factory FX hard case. I am the original owner of this Impact and bought it new from Baker Airguns; it has been one of the best shooters I've ever owned and my go-to rifle ever since I got it. It is insanely accurate and consistent and is currently set up to shoot the JSB 18.13g pellets through the 500mm Superior liner at ~880fps with the 2nd regulator only set at 85bar - so there's plenty of power to spare if you want more. At its current setting, the FX stackable mod is surprisingly effective and this rifle is already very, very quiet.

Rifle is in fantastic condition as shown in the photos; I mostly shoot from inside my home office and very occasionally walk around the backyard with it - meaning that it's never truly been in the field on any real hunt. It holds air and functions perfectly. I will include the original sales receipt from Baker Airguns and will be happy to assist in any warranty issues that might come up in the future (rifle has been perfect and had zero issues to date).

This beautiful M3 comes with the following upgrades / extras:
  • FX factory stackable moderator
  • Carbon fiber barrel liner
  • Stainless steel bolt kit (already installed; original blacks screws will be included)
  • 3D printed bottle clamp
  • Carbon fiber vinyl wrap on shroud & cheek rest (easily removeable if you don't want it)
  • Original Baker Airguns sales receipt
Price is $1850 + 1/2 actual shipping

Local pickup is available in the SF Bay Area - otherwise, payment by Paypal Friends & Family is preferred (or add 3.5% if using PP Goods & Services). I have plenty of feedback both here and dating back to the Yellow Forum so please feel free to do your due diligence and know that you're dealing with a reputable trader.

A little help needed removing a very difficult to remove O Ring

I have a late model FX Crown that has a leaking O ring. It is item D29 in the FX Illustrated Parts Breakdown (IPB) on their website. Part number 19790. It is deep in the hole in the receiver for the pressure regulator. I own many various O ring tools and none will sufficiently grip the old O ring. I do not want to scratch any of the surfaces of course, so I'm looking for some advice. Perhaps there is a special tool or technique?

The time has come for a new shooting range.

I’m finally getting a new range built. For testing purposes my current shooting range is somewhat limited. This new shooting lane should get me about 45 yards max. Will be a few weeks before it’s all done & ready to roll, but I’m super excited already.

Umarex Notos video link

This is the first hands-on review I’ve seen of the Notos, which gives me hope that it will actually start shipping soon. I’ve had the Notos on pre-order since May. I took advantage of some promotional sale thing that Pyamyd was doing on Umarex branded items which brought the price down too cheap to pass up.
The accuracy seems more than a little lacking with the Notos in this video, but the pellet selection was sparse as well. Hopefully I can find pellets that it likes a bit better.
Ugh…now I’m hoping I’ve not been on a wait list all this time for what turns out to be a turd. I’d like to think 25 yard groups would be a lot better than this video illustrates. We bought a house with a creek that flows along the front of the yard and it is a major breeding ground for copperhead snakes, so my main intended use for this was going to be a snake shooting rifle and you don’t get more than one chance at a snake if you miss.

Buyers beware

I’ll keep this short -

Put up a WTB. A “long time” member responded and said they had exactly what I wanted (bone stock m3 impact). I didn’t know much about them at the time.

Well I trusted this person and their continued references to their feedback. Met up with them in person and paid for it. It wasn’t until I got home that I realized I got played. Parts were swapped over, stuff was loose and eventually I had to mail it back to FX for leak repair.

Just saying - check resources don’t get fooled by an old man like I did. Should’ve known by the cheap trashy fwd Cadillac SUV hahah

Trenier Outdoors

Fairness in business.
Last Monday, after trying to check out an order for 2 tins of 30 cal Hades I found out that UA wanted to charge me close to $38.00 for shipping. I asked them to review the shipping cost but their answer was : It is what the "system" quotes. Years ago I had cancelled an order from PA because of their abusive shipping costs ( for 2 tins of 25 cal pellets it was a little over $67.00!
Then I found out that Trenier was about to receive this week the 30 cal Hades. I bought 10 tins, Yes, ten tins. Not only I saved almost $5.00 per tin, but for $15.00 they sent the order USPS flat rate Priority Mail, arriving in Puerto Rico just 4 days later; receiving everything in perfect conditions due to their excellent packing. If you read this, I encourage you to you patronize Trenier. They deserve our business.

Jeff; thank you not only for your exceptional service , but for your fairness in dealing with shipping costs.

NLA Edgun Matador R3M .25 Long

Selling one of my beloved guns. Perfect hunting machine! This gun is set to shot JSB heavy 34 grain at about 930 - 940 fps and 34 grain slugs at about the same speed.
This gun is very easy to maintain - everything is super straight forward. Its very accurate - I was able to do under 1" group at 55 - 70 yards. I didn't shot paper at 100 yards - but it will do very good as well.
Two magazines are included. Scope is UTG 4x16x50 not included in price but I will sell it for $100
The gun is quiet on its with built in moderator but u can use additional moderator.
The gun is in very good condition.
I actually love this thing and will hate to let it go.. But I have 10 guns now :) - something must go. I have 2 of these - will keep one. I will also sell one of my Crickets (request info if you are looking for Cricket).

The price for gun only - $950 shipped.
With the scope -$1000 shipped.

BRK Ghost Carbine...after the three minutes

Ok...seems many have read my initial thoughts on "my" BRK, Ghost.
No need to go back over that, as nothing has changed, including my thoughts. Although I did make a phone call to Airguns of Arizona. During the initial part of the phone call, the guy on that end seemed a bit perplexed by my question. But then he, all of a sudden, came back with, "yes, I see what you are talking about. This one has the same thing". But somewhat obviously, had no explanation.
But I had my answer, it isn't ONLY...MY gun with the ill fitting parts. So I was sorta satisfied, move on.

1671347159438.jpeg

After the initial three minutes -

I loosened a few fasteners, to see if I could get things better aligned. No luck. Move on !
Another oddity. The paperwork that I received with the gun, that has the shot string, and target. The Airguns of Arizona guy had no idea why they put...39 rounds through my gun ! On one hand, I really didn't care, on the other hand, I did have a certain, curiosity, was there a problem ? I didn't check, but there should be a name on the sheet. I may call again.
I found the bad fitting parts a bit odd, in that there are other items in the main part of the stock that are very good fitting, well designed with each other...go figure ! Although my cocking arm is a little sloppy, in the up and down movement. I may try and come up with something to shim it tighter, I may not. That's a it odd too I think.

The gun had some air in it, so I put a sight on it, and loaded up the magazine with some 18.1gr. JSB Match pellets. Took four rounds to align the sight. Even though the gun is a little forward heavy, it's pretty easy to hold (free hand shooting) on target. I put two magazines through the gun with zero problems. I watched the pressure gauges...as far as I could see the damned little faced things.

It's actually fairly quiet outta the box. Another surprise. I expected with the shorter shroud, that it might be louder, not so. Both at the 890fps (Airguns of Arizona) setting and my 800fps setting. But I tried on a single section of a Huma M40 Suppressor. That made it just that much more pleasant, while keeping the overall length...short. Yes, before you ask, the regulator is set at 100bar...near as I can tell !

I connected my MagnetoSpeed V3, Chronograph, checked where the Airguns of Arizona guys had it shooting. I messed with the "speed wheel" a little then found that I could set the desired 800(ish)fps pretty easily.
While I didn't notice any "leaking", per the regulator gauge, I did notice that during both magazines that the pellet speed, "picked UP" a few fps, before settling down. It acted the same way during both magazine shooting.

I did a little more visual on the gun. Then went in for a little trigger adjustment. Outta the box, the fist stage pull was a bit long and sort of stiff. So I adjusted the length of pull easy enough, but the spring pressure will be a bit tougher. The trigger post is, fore and aft, moveable. Unfortunately, whoever put these parts together, they put the post "over" the spring pressure adjusting set screw. No big deal, just move it back for now. Hmm, no luck. That screw turned out to be VERY tight. I'm a bit hesitant in trying too hard, as I don't want to strip the Allen head socket. I'll look for a larger Allen wrench, and try again. The wrench that came with the gun is too loose.
If you pull slowly on the trigger, it's a bit of a long pull, past the "wall", so that got adjusted too. While better, it either needs a little more adjustment.
The trigger mechanism is very strange on this gun. It seems to work, so that's all I'll say about that !

After noticing that the main part of the stock is...very much...the same as the Daystate Delta Wolf, as is the magazine. Why mess with a good thing, if it works I guess, and doesn't need altering...yet..!
I read people exclaiming that "THIS (their new gun !) gun is built like a tank" ! Even though, I think that many of these folks have never seen a...tank ! Having "bolted" together parts makes a very weak assembly, when put under unnatural loads.. THIS...(as is the Delta Wolf) gun has all of its main parts housed in one...single piece of heavy walled material. This supports all of its guts AND most of the barrel, at least in the short version, very securely. Which DOES...make this gun, built very sturdy, and should take the accidental dropping off the tailgate of your truck, happen without any structural damage.

Again, it's nice that most all of the parts under pressure are housed in one single piece of machined material, as noted above. That ol "Aircraft Aluminum" phrase...that means ZERO if you know anything about Aircraft ! There's moving parts in the buttpad part of the stock, but...most of its main working parts are very well supported.

Speaking of the butt pad, I adjusted that more to my liking. Then tried on a couple of different grips. I have one of those, somewhat rubber, barrel shaped grips. Na, then a plastic ERGO got fitted. It needed a little manipulating to get it to fit. Done. It feels a little better than the OEM part, so I'll leave it for now. I'll get another grip, like I have on one of my Daystate Pulsars. That's more comfortable. Seems to me I saw one of these early Ghosts that was tested in YouTube videos sometime back, that looked very much like an "AR" based grip. Wish they would have done that as there are MANY more...grip shapes, designed to choose from, vs., the "AK" based grip.

What else... In swapping the cocking lever over, I found the extra long, round "bar"...whatever it's name is...in the way, in its original position. So I left it standing tall, rather than being down by the trigger, after the swap.
As you might expect, the cocking action is nice and smooth, with no hard or difficult spots in the movement, even with its short lever arm.

One very nice thing...even though it's very well protected, it's got an actual barrel on it..! NOT one of those wimpy, thin walled, easy to bend pieces of tubing that another infamous brand uses, that everyone feels the need to crutch with a carbon fiber sleeve.
Another nice, modern day item, the air cylinder has a valve it it, so it can be removed without dumping all of its air pressure, as desired.

A few of the things that I did remove, it allowed me to put a little oil here and there. I'm not sure whom...but a few of it's moving parts have had some semi heavy grease put in place.

I guess that's enough for now. Other than a new grip, a couple of readable gauges, overall, yeah, I'm happy with the new gun. Long as everything continues to work as designed, I can overlook the bad fitting parts, and just shoot the thing..!

Mike

Any misspellings or not knowing the "actual" titles for a part, shall go unrealized and changeable as required at a later date.

So we went for a walk with the new 17 mini sniper, first blood with the new furniture I love the grain on this stock.

I decided the 17 needed it’s own stock, here is the result.

Went for a walk with Penny after retrieving my squirrel shot from the window, we had a very good result. I love the grain on the stock.

Penny has gotten very good at treeing the squirrels for me. She ran ahead, ran this guy right up up a tree and we took him down.

Mike

Here is something a little different for you

Ever since Col. Jeff Copper (A moment of silence please) came up with the scout rifle platform, I have always wanted a air rifle in that set up. Back than there were not a lot of options in air guns for this set up. Well that has changed and there are lots of option now.. Got a chance to grab this gun last year. It was tuned by Mike @ Flying Dragon Air Rifles. He had to cut the hand guard back to take a TKO moderator. I finally got a opportunity to pick up a UTG scout scope for it. I looked at all the pistol scopes on the market today and none had a parallax less that 30 yards most were 50 yards as were other scopes available. The UTG scout scope was the only one with an AO. The UTG scope gets to me and it is huge, I mean huge. Weight is half as much as the gun. If I had it to do over I would have got a pistol scope and tried to turn the parallax down to 10 years. I my still wind up doing that, this is a lot of scope. For now this is how it will stay and get tested and enjoyed. The gun is .177 not my first chose, but with the .177 heavier pellets and the laser performance of the lighter ones it should be fun to shoot.

Anyone recognize this muzzle brake/weight?

I picked up an older Beeman R1 recently and it had this giant honking muzzle brake on it. It's hideous and huge, but it's very nicely made and finished.

Anyone know where it came from or who made it by chance? It's not a Maccari, I just sent him some pics and he confirmed that it's not one of his.

It's roughly 9.5" long, 1.190" diameter, and slides down 3.5" onto the barrel before a step inside butts against the muzzle.
