BRK Ghost 👻 Carbine Review

Having shot a lot of airguns, my initial impressions of this Airgun are very high! The fit and finish are top notch, it feels robust, really solid build (tank solid) and the trigger is a HUGE improvement over other Airguns in the BRK lineup. Now don’t miss quote me here. I like the triggers on the current XR line, but this Airgun takes it to a new level! The gun shoulders well, cycles easily, appears to use the same magazine system as the Daystate line (Brocock uses a similar magazine in the XR line, just slightly different in design and not compatible with Daystate guns).

The version I purchased (my own hard earned money and not given to me to review) is in .22 caliber with the smaller air cylinder, shorter barrel and the second version of the hammer spring adjuster.

Although I wasn’t sure about the two tone color at first, I have really warmed up to it. Seeing one in person is totally different than pictures.

I also really like the way that BRK manufactured the safety on the Ghost vs the one on the DW. Seems to me that they kept enough of the DW that you see similarities, but changed enough about the looks and of course functionality that the Ghost is its own unique design with plenty of character to make one want to tremble with excitement (not fear).

Now this dang winter storm needs to roll on through so I can see if the Ghost shoots as good as it looks and not just a spooky hazy dream making it look so good.

NLA 30 Minute Luxfer 4500psi SCBA Air Tank (2010 Production) $60

I have a couple of these Luxfer 30 minute tanks that I'd like to sell. They are 2010 production so they're good for about 3 more years, but would need new hydro inspections done as they were last checked in 2017. I'm asking $60 each plus actual shipping (Generally around $12-$30 depending on how far from Michigan you are). Payment by Paypal or if picked up in person (Located in Milford, Michigan). If interested please send me a PM. Thanks! John.

Impact M3 random leak - Help

Fx impact M3 .22 caliber
1st reg 130
2nd reg 75
valve just above line 4

I get a random leak in the valve. Leaks through the barrel or breach if action is open. Slowly. You can hear it.
It’s not constant, I can shoot a dozen times, shot 13 will leak. Can’t stop it with another shot or 2 or 3.

I can stop the leak in 2 ways. Turn the valve counterclockwise, opening it more will stop the leak for a few more shots. Obviously changes my velocity.

I can also stop the leak by removing the bottle and let the gun bleed out. Reinstall the bottle and all is well for another random number of shots till it happens again.

What is happening? How do I fix?

thanks.

Who is the biologist/Squirrel hunter on here? Questions for the knowing ones

Had to run to the store earlier in 22deg weather. I had a couple of thoughts on squirrel hunting in really cold weather conditions ( I don't mean 22 degs no wind). I am thanking like 0-20 degs ranges. What happens to the squirrels movement habits, feeding habits and any other things that accrue at the temper range? Who hunts in these temperature ranges and what tactics do you employ?

Silver Weihrauchs?

Is there any significance to a silver Weihrauch? Is a silver HW30 BETTER than a blued HW30? Or is silver a limited edition? Perhaps made for use near the ocean where rust is possible? Or is it simply another option from the factory? And more importantly, do I need one? 🤣

Couldn’t say no

Did my weekly run into the city, naturally I have a reason to go to AGS, to pickup my Air Max. Got my scope and this, a used Diana 460 .177 with a lower end springer rated scope. Has a beech stock nice shape, but the grain isn’t going to win any awards.B087ECC8-C801-49CA-94CA-5779279AC60D.jpeg I took a shot but the scope was so dirty, so tomorrow. Tomorrow is supposed to be the big storm of the winter. Merry Christmas. Crow

To sell or not to sell…

Most of us have sold a gun we regretted selling. I have one I’m thinking of selling and tying to come up with the pros and cons.

Pros: My first springer. Still in like new condition. Still as accurate as it was new. Worth more now than when I bought it. Never runs out of air.

Cons: After buying a PCP, I don’t like shooting it anymore. No memories for me or my kids to bring this gun down off the shelf and talk about. My kids are not interested in shooting it and my son has only shot it a few times. (grew up shooting the 22 rf I bought him)

It’s not like it’s grandpa’s old rifle he fed the family with during the great depression or anything like that.

I don’t need the money, just selling some of my “stuff” that has no meaning for the kids and not a lot of nostalgia for me. We will probably be moving within 5 years and we have too much stuff to move again. Just thinking this through and talking about things so I don’t sell it and regret it. I might just sell all three of my .177’s which would give me a good excuse to buy a .177 barrel kit for my Impact.

What's up with Trenier Outdoors?

The service is up and beyond what most retails care to offer. I was recently turned on to them and was amazed at there pellet prices.
It is far below any buy 4 get one free deals offered at this time. And the packaging is fantastic. Take this from someone who use to import JSB's a million pellets at a time.
It is a pain in the A** to brake down the cases. Then it is equally a pain to put one tin per padded envelop. Plus the cost of the padded envelops. I am sure they are making money on them, just no as much as you would think. I have 5 million hands on experience at buying and shipping pellets. Trenier Outdoors will be my go to source for pellets from now on, without exception. If you are not buying pellets for Trenier Outdoors your paying to much. https://www.trenierairguns.com/

First squirrel with my .22 HW50S

I'm going to preface this post by saying that I normally would not have taken this shot but the conditions were basically perfect. I had just zeroed this scope, there was no wind, and I had the home field advantage.

Anyway, for those doubting the capabilities of 12ftlb rifles on the other thread, this shot was taken with my 12ftlb HW50S .22 using a 14.66gr FTT @ a hair over 600fps. He was standing roughly 5yds behind my 50yd target and a bit off to the side of the range. I doped him at 55yds and let one rip. The pellet caught him between the eye and ear and immediately slumped him from his branch. No pass through and barely even a twitch when he hit the dirt.

I shot a 8 foot BigFoot at 200 yards! No license, no permit and out of bigfoot hunting season!

It scared me once I saw it! I could not believe my eyes.
Took my Airforce Texan .257 LSS 72 grain 960 fps at 2800 psi..
And shot him (her, them, they) dead in the head. ( 2 inch moa at 200 yards )

The kill occurred at the Concord Rod and Gun MPR range in Concord California.
Rod in San Francisco

I have achieved 1377 nirvana

"A transcendent state in which there is neither suffering, desire, nor sense of self, and the subject is released from the effects of karma and the cycle of death and rebirth. It represents the final goal of a Crosman 1377."

Bill of materials:
  • steel breech
  • extended probe
  • steel pivot pin
  • threaded aluminium barrel band
  • flat top piston and valve
  • power hammer with brass guide rod
  • wider and polished stainless steel trigger sear
  • marauder grips
  • stock adapter power adjuster
  • folding stock
  • walnut pump handle made by Andy Davies in the UK
  • nondescript chinesium dovetail to picatinny adapter
  • Eotech XPS2-0
  • Fox 600 suppressor
This is certifiably the second dumbest thing I have ever conjured into being and I have absolutely zero regrets about any of it.

Tuning  2nd short video on FX Impact improved target style trigger

Hi
Thank you very much for liking my FX Impact trigger modification video that I uploaded yesterday.

But it was more than 14 minutes video and was not that crisp.

Many viewers asked me to make a shorter and targeted video.

So here you have my 2nd video.

I hope you will like it more.

Regards,

Umair Bhaur

OK, so I did something stupid....

I have the Air Venturi 4500psi compressor. I went to fill my air tank back up to 4500 psi, so I could fill my Texans for hunting today. I hooked it up, closed the bleed valves, turned on the fan, then turned on the compressor. Where stupid comes in was failing to open the dag-blasted tank! ...oops. So I blew the pressure relief valve somewhere at the bottom of the filter stack where the bleed valve is. Now I can not find the instruction manual or any online information about how to reset or replace that valve. Does anyone know where I can get that information without having the manual?

Hong yeng compressor stop working

My Hong Yeng compressor is having a problem. When I go to start it it will spin about 10 times really slow like at 10% power and then shut off. So it starts up but does not get to full power. I think it might me the starter capacitor ? I inspected the compressor and I can spin it freely. I looked at the motor and it does not looked or smell burnt. Has anyone had this problem before?

AEAC may have stumbled upon a useful M3 "hack" tool that could help the user identify an enhanced performance sweet spot in the overall system mechanics of the M3. He and Sweden aren't really sure yet. Additional evaluation & understanding is required 😊.
