FX Panthera now shipping in the US

Just an update to let you know that the first round FX Panthera's are starting to ship out to dealers today. We're getting out what we can today before cutoff and then more shipping next week. I know everyone is excited for these to get in customers hands and for feedback to be shared. Are hope is that we have a lot of Panthera's being used for the first time in monthly NRL22 matches starting in January / February.

In the meantime while you wait, Hein Frommann offers his insight into the gun through his engineering eyes:

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO EVERYONE HERE ON AIRGUN NATION!

Reputation

On the internet all you have is your reputation which is made by the way you conduct yourself. I am referencing selling here. It pisses me off that I do all that I can to be honest and fast in my sales. I even get " I am happy with the purchese", yet no "plus" point. If someone buys from me they get a "+". All the buyer has to do is pay which entitles them to a "+". When I complete my part I should get a "+". So very many times I have sold on here and got zero. I have never had to refund or explain any problems. All my dealings have been satisfactory or at least there were no complaints. In todays world that means that everyone was happy. Leave positive feedback when warranted.

RTI PROPHET II COMPACT BARREL SCREW UP, DID YOU BUY!!!

"The rifle is equipped with an interchangeable match grade Lothar Walther barrel that can be quickly changed to 4 available calibers (.177, .22, .25, and .30). All barrels have industry leading accuracy that will impress any shooter."
It was a hard piece of lead to swallow for 2000 dollars , But with all the hoopla over the match grade barrels from Lothar Walther, I seen where the compact 22 performance were selling for 1,400 bucks No I am going to wait and wait I did for five months , So I got my compact II in It does not have a Match grade L W Barrel !
PLEASE if you did not buy a RTI compact you have no say in this!!!!!! IF you did buy one how do you feel about it? I think RTI should have said sorry we can't get your match grade barrel we will knock 200 off the price of the gun,,, OR I think RTI should say sorry we could not get the match grade barrel here is 200 or 300 dollars credit when we get the barrels in.
Maybe I just need to suck it up , The Air gun people advertise one thing sell you something total different and say that is just the way it is..
Mike

Cleaning up sloppy sanding on an Akela

After technical issues, I returned my first Akela. I was hoping the second one would be better. It sort of is. Well, the wood looks nicer, and given that I'm sick of returning things, I'll stick with this one. Like the first Akela, however, there are issues with the stock finishing. Rub your fingers down the surface, and you'll feel bumps where it should be smooth and vice versa. The cutouts at the rear, in particular, have obvious bulges where it should be flat. The trigger guard is also rough, although the material is thin, so I can only do so much correcting. There's also the issue of the very off center safety markings. It's almost impressive how poorly done it is.

Instead of immediately removing the finish, I decided to keep it on as long as possible. It makes doing corrections easier. I know which areas still need work, and low spots really stick out. Things have been going well enough. I'm not sure what to do about the safety markings, however. I was thinking about mixing sawdust with epoxy and filling the markings with it. Would probably stick out like a sore thumb, though. I could also sand the markings away, but again, the material is very thing there.

Ideas?

NLA Heavily Upgraded RAW HMX1000

I have a .22 RAW HMX1000 I’m looking to sell. The gun has gone to Alan zasadny for a whole host of upgrades including a backbored chamber for super easy handloading. A carbide probe for no more bent pellet probes. A full length shroud that
Makes this gun extremely quiet to shoot. It comes with a Plano all weather case 3 standard RAW magazines aswell as a 20 shot AEA Swede magazine. It has the gray ops arca rail extension on the bottom of the gun aswell. I also have the ERGO 0 degree grip on the gun. I also have a 50ftlb reg and a lower power reg. I would also include a large number of pellets and slugs with the rifle.
Optics and bipod will not be included.
2,000 will be tuned for your choice of pellets of slugs.

knowledge needed for 177

I've owned many springers, RWS, Benjamin (marauder), Gamo, and most recent Beeman R9, these were all get with open sights but when I try to add scopes to them they do not stay consistent or hold zero. I think it's because of them being break barrels and to much movement. Never owned a PCP and don't know where to start in purchasing pumps but just want the most consistent 177 cal for shooting sparrows while I sit retired on my porch... Please give me some insight on a 177 wood, fixed barrel, and most consistently accurate pellet gun with rotary clip so I can be the sparrow whapping king.

SOLD **Sold** - Omega Trail Charger

**I see a lot of lookers but no questions or offers?? It's Christmas and I might just take a reasonable offer. What cha thinking guys?

Purchased new from Airguns of Arizona January 21, 2021
Actual run time filling my PCP Airguns is 2 hours and 41 minutes (I keep track in a notebook) plus about an hour of test run time. We run this compressor weekly doing the approximately 30 second line fill test runs to keep it active and in working order. We've never had a problem with it.
I’m selling it as my wife recently purchased me an Omega 75 cu. Ft. Patriot cylinder and an Omega Turbo Charger to fill it. With the cylinder and Turbo Charger, we do not see ourselves using the Trail Charger any longer and would like to find a new home for it.
Shipped in original box with tools and rebuild kit.
Asking $550 plus shipping and insurance continental USA. I prefer PayPal Friends & Family or add 3.5%. Not considering any trades, thank you.
If you have any questions, please contact me, I’ll give you my cell number and we can talk to get your questions answered. Thanks for looking!

Shipping to Avoid Damage.

The best offence is a good defense!

We send these things across the country all the time and are always concerned with how they will arrive. Is there anything that can be done?
I think so. Here is the method I prefer. Please share if you can think of improvements, or if other methods have worked well for you.

Start with a couple of pictures of the gun itself as proof of condition prior to boxing.

IMG_3615.JPG

Then separate the action and stock.
Next apply a light coat of oil and cover the action with shrink film to seal it from the elements during its travels.
IMG_3637.JPG
IMG_3632.JPG

Build a box to pad and protect the trigger mechanism.

IMG_3633.JPG

IMG_3636.JPG

The rest of the action is covered in bubble wrap and shrink wrap.

IMG_3638.JPG

Then placed in a cardboard tube protecting the ends.

IMG_3639.JPG
IMG_3691.JPG

IMG_3640.JPG

Action complete.

Using a VERY strong cardboard tube or piece of wood, strengthen the forks of the stock (in the case of a springer).

IMG_3645.JPG

Once again apply a safe oil and shrink wrap.

IMG_3646.JPG

Then cover in Bubble wrap and cardboard, making sure to protect the ends.

IMG_3648.JPG

IMG_3649.JPG

IMG_3651.JPG

Wrap these two packages to each other securely. This prevents any damage from the action rubbing against the stock and also provides rigidity .

IMG_3652.JPG

Finally place this into an outer box, fill with packing materials, protect the ends (yes, again).

Now it's ready to go.

IMG_3712.JPG

IMG_3655.JPG

Unwrapping is a chore for sure but there is no sticky tape touching the gun and it will survive any commercial shipper.

Total cost of packing materials is about 25 bucks, but much cheaper than a hard case and, much better protected unless the hard case is flight rated and the foam is form fitted.
This also results in a package that is cheaper to ship since it is now about 8x8x36.
Best of all, it no longer even looks like a gun. I've never been asked what I am shipping when packaged this way.

Bought myself a Xmas present. Semi auto material inside.

I have been talking to a few members via text message about the Hubens lately and we have gone back and forth all of us intrigued but all of us unsure. We all had our own reservations and whatnot about what was holding us back. For me it was the lack of need of another rifle and not wanting to put forth over 2k for another .....well........

Today I stumbled over to New England Airguns page and saw they had this used package that was shooting 47 gr NEAG boat tails and 26 gr hades on another setting. Oh its a 2020 .25

It was very well cared for, updated magazine. A cheap scope and a utg mount.

John at NEAG gave me a new updated manual written by him on handling and tuning and I picked up a new UTG soft case , 3 more bags of ammo and 2 tins of Hades.

I have to say I am flipping excited for this poop (yes I actually typed poop, the forum did not censor me)

SOLD Steyr ProX Walnut - 1 mo old, excellent price

Sales Rules:
  • I accept PayPal or Venmo - F&F only. Not my preference, but will also do check or USPS MO and ship once cleared.
  • CONUS shipping is included in the asking price.
  • I will go based on PM timestamp.
  • Please - no trade offers for this sale.
I purchased this Steyr ProX only a month ago from AirgunSport. It was an impulse purchase. Although everything about this airgun is perfect I simply have too many airguns, this one is a bit loud for indoor basement shooting so it bothers the wife and, although it is what I would consider backyard friendly, just not for my backyard. Unfortunately it won't get enough usage to keep it. I've enjoyed shooting it a bunch in the time I've owned it. I will call condition very good only as it has been used for shooting indoors.

I am looking to sell the Steyr ProX quickly and, as such, I am pricing this sale aggressively.

Here's what is included:
  • Steyr ProX .22 with Walnut Stock (including the padded case it comes with, fill probe, one magazine and all accessories) - $2,795
  • 4 x .22 10 round Magazines - $360
  • Styer 11mm Bipod - $170
  • Styer 1/2 UNF Adapter - $40
  • Seekins Precision .82in Low Profile Scope Rings - $140
  • Additional Accessories:
    • Magazine Storage Case by kube3d UK
    • MagPul Pic Rail under stock
    • Pellet/Slug loader, seater and storage case from eBay
NOTE: SCOPE AND LEVEL ARE NOT INCLUDED

Total price of everything new (not accounting for any shipping) is upwards of $3,500.

I will ship this all packaged safely in the original Steyr padded hard case which will then be boxed up as I received it. I will ship quickly via UPS 2 Day air at my expense.

I have an excellent reputation as a buyer and seller here on AGN so have no doubts you are getting what is described and pictured.

Price: $2650 SOLD

BRK Ghost Carbine 22 review from an average "Joe"

A lot of threads have been written about the BRK Ghost, but I will put my spin on it as an average "Joe". I wanted a rifle that was a 22 cal and short in overall length. I wanted it to have a good shot count and one I could take hunting with me. The Ghost Carbine fit the bill. I had my name on the list and was excited when the call came in that it had arrived.

When I got it home I pulled an Aztec scope I had on another rifle and put it on for now. (Looking for smaller scope options moving forward)

IMG_7127.JPG

Cleaned the barrel with Ballistol and a pull through 6-8 times then started to experiment with different tunes. Settled in with reg pressure at 120 and hammer wheel on 18. 11 shots over the chrono 872 high, 868 low, average 870....spread 4 and STD Dev 1.5.....

Here are a few 40 yard targets with those settings....Not very good at all...I changed speeds, pellets,(Both 18 and 16's) reg pressure, but couldn't get it to print to my liking. It would always throw a few shots.

IMG_7134.JPG

IMG_7135.JPG

🤬
Back home I go to pull the barrel and do a thorough cleaning this time. Here is what I found...Nasty gunk!!!!! Used Gunzilla and JB Bore Paste. It took about 45 minutes to finally get the white patch in the picture.
IMG_7141.JPG

I waited a day and headed out to shoot at 40 yards again....

Three shots at 40 yards!!!! I had to take a photo, because normally I shoot 5 shot groups and didn't want to jack this one up as it looked impressive.

IMG_7149.JPG

Now the pressure was on to see if I could continue this group with 2 more shots....Yeah I was ready to shank one off like I always do
IMG_7150.JPG

😳

Damn, I better go buy a lottery ticket or something.....With the entire family starting to arrive tomorrow it will be awhile until I get Buster (Yeah I named the Ghost, Buster) out to do some hunting.

Now a big thanks goes out to @Franklink, @Centercut, @zx10wall, and @Arzrover for their help and guidance...

For those considering using an oxygen tank for filling PCP. Pix

For those that call us at TGAG (TopGun-Airguns.com) and say "I want to use my oxygen tank to fill my PCP airgun".
To them I give a firm "NO!" (Think how a diesel engine works, Fuel, O2, and pressure= BOOOM!!!)
I have pix of of a couple of PCP that people thought they could fill with O2. This will happen when one use O2.

People sometimes call me overly cautious because I won't sell certain products (that would net me MORE profit). I come from the aerospace industry.
