Benjamin Akela Help

Picked up a Benjamin Akela, but having a couple issues.

1: Air blow by at the magazine. I am assuming either breech or barrel o rings so will replace both. Any idea where to get a parts list? I found a diagram, but no list.

2: It appears there are supposed to be about seven baffles in the shroud. Mine has one and the spring, which obviously does not push against anything. Soooo... when I shoot it without the suppressor, it is very loud, but single holes at about 10-15 yards. Now, put on a suppressor (I tried two - a 0db .177 and a DonnyFL .30) and at 15 yards, the pellet misses the target by over four feet! Apparently there is an alignment problem between the shroud and the barrel.

I would not think the baffles would be that critical, but maybe.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

HW100 Thumhole .22 shot count

Asking the experts here about what I should expect as a shot count with this configuration.
I just received a new HW100 Thumbhole PCP .22 cal with the 50 Joule rating. According to HW site, the 50 Joule should net about 30 shots, at least according to their updated chart.
I'm currently seeing about 14 shots before the Manometer is hitting yellow. I'm filling it to 200 bar according to both my Air Venturi ROV Air compressor as well as the Mano on the HW. I also have a new HW100 KT Laminate that is shooting about 36 shots before hitting the yellow. Both are using JSB Jumbos 15.89 GR pellets. The HW100 T was chrono'd by AOA using the same pellets at just under 34ft lbs. AOA is suggesting the regulator needs adjusting to get the shot count up. Before I send my new gun back to AOA for recalibration, I wanted to see if anyone else has the HW100 full size .22 cal and what you are seeing. I am planning on chrono graphing the rifle this evening to get better data.
The Air cylinder is .175L and is the same size as the TK model. According to AOA that is the larger Air Cylinder that HW supplies with their FAC models; both the full size and carbines.
I'm wondering if there is something else at play here; other than a regulator adjustment that is needed.

Thanks in advance

Old BSA Under Lever

So, I have this old BSA .177 single load under lever that I purchased new back in the 1980's. It doesn't have any model number or identification.
It mostly sat in my gun safe for years. It still cocks and shoots fine. It weighs in at 8lbs8oz, and loads via a pellet port that pivots 90 degrees to drop a pellet in then pivots in line with the barrel to shoot the pellet. It has dings and scratches to the wood from over the years, most are probably safe dings. There is no rust on any of the metal.
I am looking for any information on value etc so that I can move it on to someone who likes springers..
Any information appreciated or anyone with any interest in owning this piece let me know.

Fx Panthera vs fx dynamic

Just want to get people's opinions on which of these two guns would be best for benchrest I've already got it narrowed down to these two guns because of their power and slug capability and I've also got it narrowed down to 25 caliber as well I just want to know between the Panthera and the dynamic which is more comfortable and accurate off of a bench any input is greatly appreciated thanks

My name is Jon and I like gas rams.

My new to me Theoben Evolution showed up today and arrived with a very nice Leupold VX2 3-9x33 on there. There is always this feeling of doubt when you order something new that it just won't meet your expectations. Well I took one shot with this gun and every ounce of doubt left my body. Wow what a shooter! She's a little under powered at the moment (9fpe, 500fps with 15.9gr) but she's also got a pretty chewed up breech seal. Going to get some ordered along with a piston rebuild kit (if I can find one) and a pump adapter and see what happens. Either way I love this gun.

Tom and American Air Arms

So I will start this off by saying that, neither of my Evols I got new from a distributor, my hps went through who knows how many owners and my mini , 3 owners.

From a manufacturer stand point , Tom owes me nothing. From a consumer stand point, I can't really expect anything from him.

If you were to watch all of this as a fly on the wall you'd think I just purchased both rifles from him.

When I got my hps , I had messaged Tom on a competing forum before HAM forum existed and he immediately got back to me, detailed, thoughtful responses with the info I was looking for. I thought that was stand up, also responded to a friend of mine about magazines and lighter ammunition and how to remedy some jamming issues, I know he had them send the mags in so he could remedy this for us, my friend did not get his Evol new either...

Come to my mini, I messaged Tom last week on Thursday about how my Mini came with a bent pellet probe. The mini I got 4th hand. After a few back and forth and 34 minutes of time, Tom had a tracking number for me and very detailed instructions on how to replace it. The probe showed up yesterday, 2 , TWO!!! business days later I had my new probe, extra probe orings, and a cool AAA patch.

Here is the kicker and not sure if I should say this. Tom did not ask anything from me for this. He just supported his product. Totally blew me away. I can't really say much more without sounding like I'm kissing his rear but I can say that my 3rd Evol will be a new purchase and it will 100% happen.

Anyways

Thanks Tom, I really appreciate it. 🙏 She back together and shooting lead again!

News

Nothing to do with airguns, but was watching the national news this evening, CBS. It was nearing the end of the 30 minutes and I counted 10 commercials in a break then one item, about sports before they closed. Local is not much better, very little local stuff, most is grabbed off national feeds which may be repeated later, with a few items of local interest. I guess, no know, I am getting old. Wish for news like the old Huntley/Brinkley and Walter Cronkite reports. Just a rant on my part.

Drop in Reg Pressure over a string of shots

I’m bugging you guys once again from Patagonia, Argentina with a couple more issues on my Impact MK2.
I am getting a drop in reg pressure of about 10-13 Bar over a 50 shot string. I have a MK2 .25 with Power Block and 72 Power Plenum Upgrade, slug kit. Shooting 34 grain slugs at 945fps (targeted that speed because I found it to be most accurate). Reg is a Huma that I installed along with all the upgrades I stated earlier.
Fill the gun up to 250 Bar, 125 Bar on Reg, I get around 10 shots at around 950fps, the next 10-15 shots the Reg drops to about 120 Bar and velocites around 943 fps, the following shots reg drops to about 117Bar and velocity to around 937 or so while main reg is still around 180-200 Bar. The gun is super consistent but velocities and pressure drop consistently, no peaks or drops.
Reg seems to remain the same while gun is not in use, so it doesn’t seem to have any creep or droop while not in use.
Should I use a heavier hammer to open the valve a bit more or with a little more strength? (I have a thing with asking about hammers because I have no idea when to go heavier!).
I thought about polishing the standard reg that came with the gun and put it back on but I have a feeling its not the reg.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

Lucas….again!

Do I have a rusted barrel?

It has been a while since I’ve cleaned my. 25.
It is a compact veteran. And it is stored in a climate controlled environment.
I ran a couple of patches through with some bore solvent, and everything looks somewhat normal. I had recently inquired on a different thread about motorheads cleaning process. So I decided to run a patch with JB bore paste.

Compare the top patches to the bottom patches. Am I looking at rust residue??

PCP Rifle  SOLD Taipan Veteran .25 Long Black Laminate

Taipan Veteran .25 Long in black laminate. I purchased it new from a well known vendor out west. It has just a few mags through it at this point. It was originally tuned for the JSB MK2 33.9 @ 905 fps. It has been re tuned for the JSB 26gr Hades at 880 fps with terrific results.
Includes the original box, spare O rings, single shot tray, 2 mags, QD fill probe, 4 stainless pins(2 large, 2 small), end cap, three 3d printed barrel mounted mag holders, a 3d printed barrel mounted probe holder, Magpul small rail section is mounted for a bipod on the forearm, and a HD 3d printed cocking lever extension.
Installed is a Donny FL 1/2 UNF shroud end cap. Also included is a DonnyFL Koi .25. The moderator was owned by another member and then came to me. It had some clipping on the internals previous to coming to me, however it works just fine. The Koi has a 1/2 UNF endcap as well. Its the same diameter as the Vet barrel shroud.
The only mark on the entire thing is a missing checker or two on the grip which I think came from the factory like that. Other than that the gun looks brand new.
I just never ended up using it.

Here's a strange one that i've often wondered about?

Looking back in an old dynamit nobel catalogue this little jewel looks interesting. I've never seen one in the wild or have ever heard of anyone having such a beast. Apparently you pump the cartridge up put a .22 pellet in and get up to 50 ft pds out of it. Did they ever even make it to production? Interested to see if anyone here has had one.

JSB packaging from Pyramid Air

IMG_2570.jpeg

I made a pellet order while PA had their 4th of July sale. The tins are a little different and there is scotch tape on them instead of the traditional tape that we are all familiar with, also the foam padding is different. Has any one seen this from other vendors? The pellets look OK although I haven’t shot any yet. Just wondering.

Hello neighbor

Hello @.20calguy

Howdy neighbor, thought I would share a couple of pictures of what I am cooking for lunch today. Just a little small pot of my Seafood Gumbo and as you can see, I built the Roux not quite to chocolate before adding it into the Gumbo. I used 1-1/2 pounds of Andouille sausage to season my cast iron skillet to make the Roux. Thought you would appreciate that, have a great day.

Barrel Polishing Question?

I have a .22 Avenger barrel that is very rough where the rifling begins at the breach. I did polish and recrown and pushed several pellets by hand, the first 2.5 inches of the rifling are rather tight as well. I polished with a bore mop and JB and put a lot of extra effort in the tight spot including using a drill (with mop).
I'm thinking of using the back end of a drill bit, grinding a taper and polishing like a recrown. I'm not to concerned about being tight at the breach but this sharp edge must go.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Painterman... aka David from Indy

ALWAYS. Take. A. Follow. Up.

Was getting milk for my baby and noticed a furry friend at the balcony for one. Ran upstairst and gently put my baby on the floor then gently pulled the trigger on the AEA SF in .30 in what would rank one of my all time best shot placements.

I usually do a double tap either to the body or the head just to be sure and expire the body faster but it as 6am and impact sounded like a gunshot lol. Saw him on the floor and knew he was DRT so I quickly closed the window and took care of my baby.

About 20 minutes later I went outside to clean and was shocked he wasn’t in the dirt but a good 3-4 feet away staining my yard with his blood. Luckily it washed away very easily but I’m really going to always follow up.. it wasn’t until I checked the footage that I realised how he got there.

There are some super zombie squirrels in my yard! A couple hours later I hit another one with a bad shot through the right hand, left arm, left leg. It ran off. I grabbed my BRK .22 and chased him to the corner of the fences and threaded a rock and fence post for another body shot. Put the pathfinder away and came back to get him with the fireplace tongs and it was still alive! Grabbed it and put it on a dirt pile and put 3 more into him at point blank before it stopped moving. The whole situation was a mess and I felt really bad. These squirrels are just tough mofos and anything except a perfect headshot just doesn’t get the job done.

Four, ten shot strings through Pathfinder XR

Please be mindful that these are simply my first shot strings out of this gun. So the numbers may change. I sent 10 Crosman Premier Hollowpoints at all three TP settings. And one string with JSB Exact Jumbo 18s, TP on high. I’ve done nothing to this gun, just unboxed, scoped it and started shooting.

Steyr info?

Got a chance at RMAC to check out the Steyr guns. Brian from Edgun West is involved as many know but they are on their own site separate from the Edguns. Had hoped to see more people share their experience with them as they seemed to have started or been in the mix when quality semi-auto airguns first hit the market. Some are very compact and seen perfect for a field gun. If you aren't familiar please check them out and if you have experience please share. I'm thinking I found my new WFT rifle for Worlds next year and possibly a new squirrel gun.

Two of the best higher power PCP pistols.

Veles - 1.jpeg

Figured I'd start with the airgun pic and then talk about them. I've posted about these before, but haven't used them in a while and just got to them again in the pistol rotation so I got excited.

These are the EdGun Veles in .177 (top) and .22. Both tuned with Huma regulators.
The .177 is shooting 10.34gr @ 700 fps (11.25 fpe)
The .22 is shooting 15.89gr @ 725 fpr (18.55 fpe)

Both are extremely quiet with the stock moderators for the power output. Both very accurate and capable of sub 1" groups out to ~45 yards in my backyard rested on a bag. About 20 shots each per fill (maybe more - I've never chrono'd them to off reg). Not a match trigger, but still very usable.
