The butt pad on my FX Tarantula is quite slippery
Resulting in extra effort to keep it from dropping low while shouldered
It is the original walnut stock and OEM brown( plastic?/rubber?) butt pad.
I have not applied any oil, wax, or other substance to it

Course abrasives (20 through 60 grit) are not something I'd like to try unless the method is tried and true.

OKCGC had their “XFT” field Target match this past May 31st. We had 13 shooters! 3 came from another Silhouette powder pistol match at another range (at OKCGC). They had a great time, and we were glad that Steve, Dave and Travis joined us! We also had 2 Texans come up for the match. John and Jim, thank you guys for coming out to shoot with us. We really appreciate it!
We had a shoot off for 3rd place between Mike Atwell and Jim Clarke. We decided to use the standing lane and Mike won!!!
The weather was pretty good. It's been raining a lot here in Oklahoma this year. Our regular group is always there to not only shoot but to help set up and tear down….. Can’t do it without Y’all….

I am looking at selling my FX Maverick Sniper in .22. It has the slug power kit and slug barrel in it. It would be shipped in a hard FX case that I got it in.

What would be a fair price for something like this?

How long did it take for you to learn this lesson? I'm always looking for that "Goldilocks" sweet spot when it comes to buying...just about everything. I've been through it with stereos, fishing gear, camera/photgraphy gear, and of course shooting/airgunning. One example that comes to mind was when I bought a Simmons 44 mag scope, everything worked on it, but the reticle was as thick as two telephone poles. Fortunately I didn't have to go through it with wives...I'm still on my first one for the last 31 years.

What effect does pellet weight and design have on trajectory? I changed pellet brands and weights trying to see what my break barrel likes best. was doing well with some domed Crosman 10.5gr. domed. Got tighter groups with RWS superdomed 8.3gr. Then got some Barra 10.03 domed (more like a pointed dome) and they are shooting high. I mean like missing the paper . I am shooting 25 yards , not far . Do heaver pellets hit high at that distance ? Or are these pellets just not for my rifle ? Thanks for your reply's.

I got my Huben a month ago now and don’t have much need for my three others.
The Reximex is a fantastic gun, at least it has been for me. Then theres the Beeman 2027
and newly bought Crossman 1701 (which I don’t consider cheap $) I bought on a whim.
So red dots are what I had till the GK1. I desired some magnification, that’s where a discussion
on here stated scopes are unnecessary.
Searching the web yielded not much. A lot of guys use rifle scopes, doesn’t work offhand.
The selection is surprisingly scant. I first got a UTG 2-7 pistol scope that didn’t focus down to pistol ranges.
But it somewhat worked and I continued to look. I knew about a Burris 2-7 but dont know if it focused
inside of 25 yards or so. Late in my searches the Burris 3-12 popped up, it has adjustable objective
down to 25 yards. Not perfect at higher power, some shots in yard are closer but seems to be the
best true handgun scope available.

I’ve been doing some machining today. building some of the parts that will be going into the over sized magazines I’ve been developing.
As I sit and watch the 3 1/2 minute program run. I thought I share some of the progress.

I'm listing this for a friend that lives near me.
He purchased this from Alan Z in 2012 and shot it for a few years and put it away.
He's selling several more pretty soon and narrowing his collection down to a few.
He does have an account here but has mostly just been reading, knows I sell things on here and asked me to list it for him.


The only thing I can find wrong with it is a valve leak.
I replaced all the other o-rings with Buna N 90 's that seal the bottle.
I'm not familiar with the valves on these, am not going to try to repair that part but he said list it anyway.

He paid over 3K in 2012 from Alan who used to live close to us here in Iowa.
Other than the valve leak from the barrel verified to be the valve, all others o-rings hold perfectly.
It's in very good shape as you can see and is super quiet with the Alan shroud on it.

It does come with one magazine and the manual.
This one is not regulated.

This is all I know.
The price is what he asked me to list it for him, and everything else was just given.

I have started a club and a field target range. I am now the Match Director and make up all the rules. This is a big responsibility and I am very serious about safety. At the first match everyone was fine and all were gun club members. But they did not have a protocol about holding rifles. I felt uncomfortable more than once when muzzles were pointed or swung around. I know the guns were not loaded. BUT that’s not acceptable ever at all even once.
So I have made up what I feel is a reasonable policy concerning gun handling.
Basically you can’t touch your gun unless it is at the sight in bench or firing line. Or if filling and doing work the picnic table is provided.

You can’t walk around with a rifle in your hand. All the rifles must be in a case or tote.
I showed my set up that has developed over many years.

This is the post I made to the club. Please add or correct this I don’t want anyone to get hurt.

This weekend was a great learning experience for me as a match director and I hope everyone enjoyed shooting some targets. There are a couple areas I need to work on at the range. Safety is always my number one concern. Normally a competitor moves from station to station or lane to lane with the gun and all the equipment. You need to keep all the rifles pointed in a safe direction. You should only be handled a rifle at the lane entrance or sight in table. Otherwise they need to be stored safely in a case. You can’t carry the rifle to the shooting lane.

So think about finding some sort of gun case or tote to hold your gun and accessories as you move from lane to lane without touching your gun. You really can’t walk around with a rifle. If you need to work on or fill your gun. The picnic table is a good place for that. Just keep the muzzle pointed in a safe direction.

When the cold line is called you need to put your gun down. And do not touch it as people are fixing targets. And you don’t want to lay it on the ground. Plus you need a place for pellets and a towel and water the sight in card. All that is in with the gun easy to reach and it is portable.

A lot of people modify golf bags and have rolling carts that hold the gun pointing up or down .

I use a wood case that holders my gun, sticks and ammo. The bucket holds water and towels and food .

Most just use a large soft sided rifle case. That also holds everything. What ever you come up with you must keep the gun in a case unless you are shooting it. And when you sit the case down the muzzles must be pointed into the woods or down range.

Hey guys, I got the most expensive Black Wolf in .25 with 28 inch barrel. I'm struggling to find an ammo that it will shoot well. I get 1 inch groups at 50 yards with all my ammo at all different speeds. Has anyone found a setting and ammo that shoots like a Daystate.

Please lets figure this out. I have the blue sping in but I am shooting 25.39gr too fast on MIN.. Which spring is less or more? I have Red, White, and Blue springs. (issue SOLVED below)

Who would be interested in attending?
Duncan is about 3.5hrs east of the greater Phoenix Area. Camping is allowed at the site, and local hotel lodging is available as well.

These matches take place in a deeply shaded river bottom. The tree and riverbanks allow steeply angled up and down shots, as well as tricky winds. Quite the challenge, but also one of the more interesting sites for a field target match that I've had the pleasure to shoot.

Hello all! Another new member here. Been into backyard plinking, trap shooting, and varminting off and on for many years. Back of my property butts up to the sweet potato fields here in California. Shoot all types of firearms and airguns. Owned a Benjamin pump, RWS and Beeman single strokers in the past. PCP journey started with a FX Impact MK2. Now I currently own the M3 .35. Just figure I introduce myself. Lots of good info here.
