Being nosy I never did catch what happened to Donnie Reed where did he go from Baker just being nosy

I had ordered parts from AOA, this is not they fault these parts have seen more states, then I have in 5 years I live in Huntsville Al. They got here Last Friday but never got put on the local truck

This is a MK II VP refurbished I purchased from Utah Airguns in Nov. 2022. It came to me as a .25/500mm. I sold the .25 barrel and went with a .22/380 barrel I had traded for earlier, then I ordered .177/380 barrel and parts (less the shroud, I just swap the shroud when changing calibers). Both barrels shoot great. The .22 averages 885 fps with JSB 15.9's with power wheel on 13. The .177 averages 906 fps with JSB 10.3's with the power wheel on 3. Reg is set at 120 bar, TP set on medium. There's plenty more power to be had if wanted. It will come with a .5L carbon fiber bottle plus the original aluminum bottle. It also has a Huma cocking lever I added. Comes with an FX .22 mag plus two Carm .22 mags and two Carm .177's. You can see in the pictures that the divider on the dual hole tp is missing. I never use that size anyway so I have no idea if it matters Both barrels have carbon fiber sleeves added (not glued). Scope and bipod not included (but can be negotiated if desired). Price is $1100 shipped to lower 48, PP F&F or buyer pays fee.

I have a question for you guys and girls.

What is that "One" gun you own, or have owned that Never disappoints?

I am talking about the gun that you could leave on a shelf, untouched for an unlimited time frame, grab it, throw a mag in it and know for 100% certainty it will hit Exactly where you are aiming.

I have owned no less than 30 different guns over the years, had a few that were very good but Never that One. there was always some little quirk, had to fire a couple shots, had to fire 1 shot, etc...

I do have that gun now after many years and I will hold off until i see what all gets posted up in this thread... Again i have, and still own a bunch of very high end guns , but there is only One i can Honestly say it is that "One" gun in my collection..

I am curious to see what pattern develops here..
So I ask Please be honest

I liked to use there " our take" articles on the pellet testing for a general ball park of the guns they tested cause they used several pellets of brand and weights.

So yried to use them for a gun to see what fps they were getting from the pellet chart and nothing , like the whole site and info been removed from the web..

I feel it is necessary to tell this story, both to show my ignorance ( who knows why I think that's necessary) and maybe, to help others who may get caught in the same scenario.
Recently I sold my Air Arms HFT500 online. I sold it for a very reasonable $1050 price, plus shipping. When the cashier's check arrived it was for $2980, whoa! horse!, what's happening here. I messaged the seller and he ended up calling, seemed incredibly surprised that something had gone wrong at his bank. After he checked it out, he told me that his bank was supposed to cut and mail two seperate checks, one to me for the gun and another to a wedding planner in Florida. So commenced the discussion of how I would return the extra money. He came up with some pretty iffy ideas, venmo, cashapp, money orders, etc, none of which I was comfortable with. After some back and forth, I searched online how to verify a cashier's check and the very first line of every page I looked at was to call the issuing bank. So I called and was informed they did not verify checks of any kind over the phone? What, they can't even tell you if THEIR check is good? There were no local branches in my area of the country. So, I then took the check to my bank, where they know me and I've banked for many years, and was told, "it looks ok to me" by the several tellers working that day. Now here is where I made my mistake. After the tacit approval of the check I'm thinking even though this guy seems anxious to get his money on the way to Florida (he was in Arizona), since the check looked legit, I would send his money on to Florida. So I purchased a cashier's check made out to the planner in FL. and fedexed it to him. That was on Thursday, and on Monday, the bank called to say the cashier's check was altered, and bogus. When I went to the bank, we looked at copies of the check and it looked perfect, in every detail, at which point the bank said it could still be legit? Anyway, I know what's happening, I'm out my money for the cashier's check and I've lost the gun. What's weird is the guy keeps answering my text and calls claiming to be honest. When I demanded the gun back he said he would ship it back and gave me a different phone number to call, to which I never got an answer. I call fedex to head off the two packages, the gun and the check, to which I find the check still in transit, but the gun delivered in AZ, the fastest delivery across country ever.
Now the story get's weirder, if possible. I call fedex and they inform me that the check has been intercepted by fedex security and is being held in Mississippi at their security division and will ONLY be returned to me once the investigation is finished. How on earth did they know to intercept this check when it obviously happened long before any of my calls? After two or three calls to fedex, I learned all the dates and times and the exact person who worked for fedex who received the check in their security division. After a couple weeks the check arrived and I was able to salvage the roughly $2000 of the nearly $3000 I was out. WAY TO GO FEDEX!!
The story doesn't end there. I just wrote off the gun, thinking I would never see it again. Time passes, probably three more weeks, and I'm having coffee one morning and the doorbell rings. There's the fedex guy with the unopened package with the gun in it. SOMEHOW fedex was also able to intercept the gun too. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? So, now I'm whole again and will never accept a cashier's check again.
After much discussion with the bank, fedex and others, here's what we've come up with as a scenario of what happened. A guy in AZ scouts out a house who's front porch is secluded form houses around it. Looks up the owner's name and uses that to ship the gun to, knowing he can track it, and know the delivery date and steal it off the porch. Walla! gun in hand, no one the wiser. Same thing with his accomplice in FL, check is delivered to a legitimate house and stolen off the porch. The only rub is that the check package probably required a signature, not sure what happened at this point, but somehow, some way, fedex picked up on the scam, and kept the package. When I started calling, and they realized the package to AZ was also involved, they either intercepted it too, or it is possible, the thieves were unable to grab the package before the homeowner got it and kept it, until he could have fedex return it. No matter how it shakes out, it's a miracle of good work by fedx.

I can't say enough good things about how FEDEX handled this mess for me, and how helpful and reassuring every single person I talked to at FEDEX was, making sure I understood they had this in hand and that it may take some time, but they were doing all they could to rectify the situation. It seems all we do is gripe about delivery companies, but I must say, this is way beyond the call of duty and simply amazing work on the part of FEDEX. I know for sure they intercepted the check long before I ever knew the scam was unfolding. The package with the rifle, I'm not sure if they intercepted it or the homeowner called them and asked that it be returned as he/she did not order it. From all the markings on the package, it seems more likely that FEDEX intercepted it, but I can't be sure. The folks at FEDEX are all in my prayers, and I'm so grateful of how they handled their jobs, it's so good in this day and age to see people who care and care enough to do everything in their power to make things right.

Until I can find a way to thank them, I salute them for their fine work!!!

I am very interested in these guns in 22 but more likely 30cal. I will only be shooting pellets. Since the prices are similar I was wondering the accuracy between the 2. I know the sidewinder is semi auto. I would like to get peoples opinion of them. I would use it for eft maybe but some hunting as well.

I know that what I am about to say will not like many of you. I apologize for that. My intention is not to offend any of you nor any of the air rifle makers.

This morning I walk up early and went to shoot at 190 yards with no wind at all.

First I shot about 60 shots with the Wolverine HP HR .22 Cal.

Later on I shot about 15 shots with the sidewinder .25 Cal.

Some shots of the Wolverine hit a little bit down and some a little bit high and some on target. That difference is because of the really differences causes by the hit of the hammer to open the valve to realease air to move the pellet.

All of the shots with the sidewinder were exactly accurate in power at 190 yards. The consistency is remarkable.

This are now the hard words:

" The difference among a really good rifle with a spring and hammer system vs. a rifle with the system of the Sidewinder is comparable with the difference in consistency among a really good brake barrel rifle and a very good PCP with spring and hammer system."

That big !!!

So, in order to conquest with precision shooting at very long distance, the short way is shooting with a rifle with the system of the sidewinder !

Oooor..... You can shoot and waste as many pellets as you want in order to confirm it by your self....

Had a great time “testing” this new prototype Airgun/Slug combo out to 1001 yards! I also had the opportunity to shoot a Sidewinder & a @BRK-BROCOCK Ghost Carbine at more reasonable, yet useful distances.

Spoiler alert, the Ghost really impressed me, & will likely get one in .177 in the near future.

Just curious as I will have one in my possession…what kind of accuracy did you get with yours? Caliber? Power? How does it compare with FX?

It is less than 6 months old and in excellent condition but does have marks on the pic rail where you would connect a bi-pod. It is a .25 cal and I am currently enjoying the short-range pester with GTO 16.54 lead free rounds . I really like this rig at 35 and under it has a nice energy dump haha.

What's the popular opinion of hunting off shooting sticks and a dove chair versus artillery hold? If sticks are a preference..how many legs? One .two ..or tri pod formation?carrying a backpack ..pellets ..water etc and carrying a chair and sticks is awkward for a stalk type hunt.

I’m looking for someone who can take my Daystate Revere stock and install a custom cheek piece and butt stock on it. Who is a good resource for this kind of project?

I pulled the barrel on my new Benjamin Akela and the tops of both barrel o-rings were badly sliced up. I suspect that one or both of the holes for the set screws have burrs. It's a very difficult spot to get at. Any advice from the pros?

No issues & has the best trigger Ive ever used. Ive had a few 10 meter rigs & this one is the best. These are 1 pump precharge 10 meter rigs,not a springer & a wonder in engineering.

Selling a PRod Woods Walker with Hill high flow valve, OldSpook moderator, RTI externally adjustable reg and 220cc carbon fiber bottle. Has 4 eight shot mags, degassing tool, original parts to include the stock shroud cap and valve head. Has a Buck Rail adjustable AR style buttstock. Currently tuned at 100 bar with the hammer spring backed all the way out for free flight hammer. I replaced the reg guts with the more current version that uses belleville washers. The old reg had the big thick spring. New reg is creeping about 10 bar. Needs some time to settle in. The old reg didn't creep but took more shots to set when adjusting. Target provided from basement range just shot at 12 yards with an Immersive 5x30 prism scope. $450 as is or $300 in stock form minus the bottle and reg. Test target is 3 mags and only used 20 bar of air. I pump it up to 200 bar in case the reg fails.
