So I thought we could get some board input as to what you consider to be the top 3 semi-autos, on the market today, and why. I've had this idea for a moderator for a while now and yesterday I decided to go ahead and make it. I machined a sort of monocore with a baffle stack, and machined six K baffles for it. I finished it last night and shot it a few times out my shop door and all I'm going to say is that it works very well, I'm glad I went ahead and made it....It's 1 7/8" round and 6 1/4" long, the outer tube is carbon fiber and ends and the insides are machined aluminum. I'm going to shoot it on my woods range this morning....

This may sound like a stupid question, but I'll ask anyway. I have a spare .25 cal moderator, can I use it on a .30 cal pcp?

I had things tuned in pretty well yesterday with my M3 with the 2nd reg set at 105 bar. This afternoon I noticed reg 2 was at 111 bar I dry fired a few times and it seemed to settle in around 107 bar. I’m using an Air Marksman digital gauge on the second reg. Would this be considered reg creep? Am I being to picky? Are low reg pressures in this range more prone to variations?

Looking at getting the new fx dynamic express sniper. I’m having a hard time deciding between.22 and .25. Looking at making it a long range shooter and for the occasional squirrel or black bird. What would y’all choose and what grain slug seems to do the best long range.

I have owned a Impact Mk2 25cal 700mm for 3-4 years ish now. Killed many a critters with it, and a few coyotes. Cracks me up to pop a coyote between the eyes and the first thing that hits the ground it their nose. LOL. Cracking myself up.

Anyway, one of my neighbors is very interested in PCP’s and I was showing him what they are capable of.

A stupid pigeon lands about 75 yards away, and I popped it… Now he wants my airgun, and I have been wanting the Mk 3 for a bit.

Anyway, struck a deal with him, and ordered basically the same gun but Mk 3.

Having trouble with my FX Boss. Been running it over the chrony & adjusting HS from all the way down (tight) to zero spring tension at all. It only shoots from around 440-505fps. Any thoughts, suggestions or similar experiences? I'm all ears for your collective wisdom!

I still have the factory scope rail, the sliding probe cover(removed as it was prone to nick the fill probe o rings, and the bottle cover. I removed those factory parts as by design the scope rail would move affecting accuracy as it was connected to the bottle cover. I got rid of that factory flaw by using a solid aluminum scope rail from the Hatsan Bullmaster which was a direct bolt on.

The fasteners have all been converted to stainless but I will include the factory fasteners.

Now, onto the internal mods-
The valve was plugged so only one large opening fed air into the barrel. The pellet probe was machined to allow more air into pellet(now a pin style probe)All internals as far as hammer, hammer weight, etc have been polished. Porting of air passages were done, fresh lubes, comple reseal of all new o rings. Gun is still at 225 bar from when I filled it 10 months ago.

Reasons I’m selling-
1. I have no critters that require a 30 cal with this type of power(over 1000 fps using predator polymags).
2. Now that I’m involved in the benchrest discipline, I don’t have the time to put into this gun to tune it the way I would like. Last time I was “into shooting it”, it actually got its best accuracy at only a 3,000 to 3,200 fill, rather than the 3,625 it is spec’d for.

This is a solid hunting gun, at groups of 3/4” to 7/8” at 50 yards, pushing the deadly predator polymags at over a 1000 FPS. The mags are easily able to hold the polymags, unlike most other manufacturers platforms. The bully also has an anti double load feature.

So with purchase of this gun, you get all the extra parts, all the factory parts it came with, a spare mag, moderator, sling, a fully dressed high power hunting scope(FFP, btw), maintenance kits(a lot of o rings) and I’ll toss in four unopened tins of the 30 cal predator polymags.

Please help me. I was an active airgunner some 15 years ago. Back then, for a spring piston gun, the maximum power was about 30 fpe.
For instance, in my books, the Webely Patriot / Beeman Kodiak did around 28-29 fpe. The Theoben Eliminator did some 26-28 fpe. Hatsan produced a (decent) model 135 that did around 30 fpe. But that was about the limit --> 30.

Is there today a spring piston gun that does more than that? Lets talk mass produced factory guns.
If so, can you comment about how it is? Good, bad, accurate?

Not sure if this is an impossible request, but the title says it all. I sold my leshiy classic short barrel a few years ago when the massive layoffs in this country happened. I loved the gun (25 cal) for it's build quality and compact size (and not made in china for various reasons), but I was never quite happy with it for hunting ghogs. Twice I had headshots and the hog didn't go down. Once was in the eye and i guess there just wasn't enough penetration. I'm pretty sure I was using some form of JSB heavies, but I've been out the pcp world for a while and can't remember, I also never tweaked the system and I'm not sure what FPEs I was getting.

My backyard is about 30 yards and behind the yard is a steep incline that rises about 30 feet which makes a great backstop and a great place to site groundhogs.

In the most ideal world, I'd like something non-chinese made, able to fit into a backpack (even if that means I have to take it down for transport), that can do sub 1-inch groups at 50 yards and able to take down groundhogs with body shots within that range, and can be hand pumped and quiet. My budget for everything is under 1000 as there are way cheaper ways to handle this problem outside of the airgun world and this is more of a hobby. I'd also like to take it backpacking/camping for small game on the go. I'm also fine putting something together by sourcing parts and assembling.

If we sidestep the Chinese requirement, it seems like the hp ss max in 30 cal would do the trick, but I'm concerned about reliability of the AEA products.

If we remove the backpack requirement, I think the condor ss in 25 cal would do the trick. I'm also not sure a 25 cal with 90fpe is humane for body shots.

I know the airforce guns are like lego, so my hunch is that I could get exactly what I want in something like a 30 cal talon ss with a 12 inch barrel, but that doesn't exist. Could I put something like that together for under 1000 dollars? Are there other options that I don't know about?

After shooting my mini out to basically 100 yards the other day I am questioning a few things and thinking of topping it with a high end optic , the HPS would be on the chopping block knowing the mini shoots that distance well , especially them both being the same caliber.....and would be helping fund this optic .

I don't know if it really matters or not, but looking at some of my pellets they need some adjustments as the skirts are not always like they should be and certainly not all the same, even when they are out of the same tin ?
Should I be looking for a sizing tool? skirt fixing tool ? Maybe a seating tool?
Where can I find what I need?

This morning while testing moderators this happened. The part that flew off was under considerable stress as I was at the bottom of a pumping stroke. It left the vicinity at low Mach number. I'm glad it didn't hit me in the eye.

There was zero warning.

Alright, on y'alls word I added a 2240 to my collection. I found it to be reasonably powerful, and accurate. So here's the but.
The sights are aweful, and unable to reach zero. The best zero I can manage is two inches or so to the right. It consistently hits the paddle to the right of the one I'm shooting at, on my Crazy Eights target. So it needs after market sights, and the Intermounts that fit my H9A, don't fit the 2240.
BTW my H9A has the same problem, but is shooting left.
Another thing I'm not comfortable with is the cap to the cartridge chamber. It is very tight, and requires even more, each time to release the CO2. I'm afraid it's going get bugered up, as I have to get on it with a screw driver.
