New Member Looking for first PCP

Like the title says, looking for my first PCP. My initial thought is to get a P-Rod, but seeing all the talk about the Notos has me rethinking. I tried to do a search, but the info is kind of overwhelming.

I'm looking for .22 and out to 50 yards. Paper punching and pest control. I am a tinkerer so the availability of stuff for the P-Rod is a plus. Sound is also important, so being able to mess with moderation on the P-Rod is also a plus.

That said the Notos sale and reviews are hard to ignore.

Am I just overthinking this?

1rst crow of the season!

Crow season is here and I was fortunate enough to have a shot a some yesterday.
First off though, I can't say enough good about the Hades .22 pellets. Out of my Wildcat 500mm they are happiest somewhere between 915-935 fps. The 18 and 24 grainers are solid performers but the Hades just takes it up a notch. I get more DRT results with these than anything else!
I first them fly in and then realized there were several big nest raiders in the tree in the back. I cracked opened the door, ranged 47 yards, held my Wildcat against the door jam, found one sitting lowest in the tree and sent it straight down. Loaded another pellet and saw that 1 had stayed behind closer to the top of the tree and behind some leaves and a couple of branches. From the sound I knew I'd hit the branch as I watched it fly away. 1rst crow of the season! Let the games begin!

Tuning  Daystate Delta Wolf .22 hp POI shift

Hi,
I have done all that I could do to improve the accuracy of Delta Wolf .22 hp.

After barrel polishing, re crowning, making proper muzzle break to throw air backwards to the shroud, keeping slight distance between the chorony connector, almost all the things related to accuracy have been improved.

I also manually tuned the gun and it produced best groups with redesigned .22 25 grain at around 910 to 918 fps.

There is one issue that I couldn't fix. It's the shift of POI.

For every new session I have to re zero the scope. I also put an other reliable scope to see if it's scope's fault, absolutely not.

Sometimes during the session the gun shifts POI and I go crazy having such a costly gun doing all this after putting so much effort.

Now as a last resort I understand that I should develop a barrel holder just like one that is now being used by FX IMPACT M3 to also hold the barrel from the point it comes out of the block.

I feel that some kind of strong barrel holder might resolve all the POI shift issues.

Please share your experience regarding DW POI shift and its permanent remedy.

Regards

Bhaur

Traditional Rifle  SOLD WTS: HW 97 25mm tube / Maccari Grade 2

HW 97 25mm tube / Maccari Grade 2 stock - $550 REDUCED

u4VFjAP.jpg

UPDATE: 07/04/2023

I opened up the 97 last night to check out the insides. Piston still has good compression but I noticed the breech seal was toast. I swapped it out for an old OEM seal and the fps went up a little. I added another spacer that came with the Maccari kit I put in back in '17 and the average velocity went up to and average of 797 and 795 on back to back five-shot strings. That puts the gun around 11.7 / 11.8 FPE, which is where it should be. I have some new seals on order and they will hopefully be in by the end of the week.

The second thing I want to point out is the wear on the cocking lever, no doubt from my wedding ring. I just happened to put the gun on the table so that the muzzle end was in direct sunlight from the skylight above my porch. I never noticed this before and you can see the difference in the two pictures below taken seconds apart. You also cannot see the wear in the picture below showing the scratch from the locking catch,

I want to provide full disclosure and give an accurate representation of the condition,

Given these new relevatiions I am adjusting the price to $550 shipped and insured in the CONUS per below. It does not make sense for me to go any lower, I would rather keep the gun.

ORIGINAL POST BELOW

Up for sale is a very nice older HW 97 with the 25mm tube, Maccari Grade 2, brass setback trigger and adjustable butt pad. I purchased this back in 2017 and used it for a few seasons of FT. It is way more accurate that my shaky-@$$ will ever be. Very smooth shooter. Hopefully the pictures will tell the story. Not a safe queen but in nice condition.

I shot three groups in WFTF mode, just like the first picture. I was at 30 yards and it took three groups to finally calm down.

The wrap around the cheek rest was to provide a better cheek weld and is easily removable. It sticks to itself, not what it wraps around. I replaced the spring and piston seal with Maccari products after purchasing it, and have not had it open since.

The Bushnell Elite pictured is not for sale, but I would be open to discussions if wanted with the gun since it is such a nice combo for WFTF.

Price is $650(reduced to $550) shipped, insured and PP fees covered in the CONUS. Open to other payment methods, PP is just what I typically use.

I used to buy and sell a lot on the old Yellow forum, lots of positive feedback.

Thanks for looking.

Pulled Out My Springer

Decided to pull out the springer I got from a dear friend who was getting rid of things preparing for his passing.
Setting it up adding a cheek riser and pellet pouch made for fun. Tuning kit coming in Monday along with parts needed to make a hamster.
Looking at shooting it the rest of the year in memory of him. People like him only come a few times in a lifetime.

Tuning  Impact M3 questions

Hello, I have an Impact M3 with 300 bar gauge & bottle. I've been running around 200 and 160 bar on my regs (.30cal). Overall I'm pretty happy with it. Shooting Patriot 52s & FX hybrids around 1000fps. However my front reg has a slow leak and tends to bounce around more than I like. I'm considering the front reg bypass (delete) as a quick fix for the leaks and possibly prevent poi shifts when I get down to 1st reg pressure levels cuz it seems to start falling off when bottle gets around 200 BAR. Question are...
1. Will I still have the option to fill over 250 bar if I want to with the bypass installed?
2. Should I be considering a high pressure 2nd reg (huma)?
3. Is there something else you would recommend more?

Thank you!!!

PCP Rifle  SOLD WTS: Crosman 2400KT w/extras - $125

Crosman 2400KT purchased during the pandemic. I have not shot it in some time and it has been boxed up and ready to go to a neighbor who keeps ghosting me. Tired of waiting so I am willing to let it go cheap.

It comes with the 18” Crosman barrel and a 6” TKO LDC, and lots of misc parts.

(scope pictured is not included)

The 2400KT currently has a stock valve that has been beveled slightly and last measured was shooting JB 7.67 pellets in the 660 - 670 range. The original valve is included. It also has an upgraded brass trigger installed for better feel. Lots of extra botls, an entire bag of upgraded breech screws and I cannot remember what else.

Quiet and accurate, it will come in the original double box from Crosman with the manual and certificate from the Custom Shop.

$125 shipped Fedex Ground in the CONUS. Payment via PayPal and I will absorb the fee so you have extra peace of mind. I use to buy and sell a lot on another forum under Bruce.net, all positives.

There is a small ding on the bolt.

And where the LDC attached, but covered when installed. Rings pictured are not included.

I no longer own the scope / rings in the pictures so they are obviously not included in the sale.

PCP Hand Pump Sprays Water

Hi,
I recently bought my first PCP air rifle. I also bought one of those cheap Chinese pumps off of Ebay, as most people had good things to say about them and it was at least $150 cheaper than buying a Benjamin pump. When I disconnected it after the third use, I noticed the connector was wet. The pump sprays a small but noticeable amount of water vapor when I use it without connecting the gun. The pump is rated at 6000 psi. I know that compressing air creates water, but I don't want to lose the gun because I assumed it was normal.

Is my gun's tank full of water now?

Thanks

UPS Strike?

I just heard of this. I know a lot of people here depend on UPS. The union and management for UPS is negotiating a new contract. If they can't reach an agreement the union is saying on or around August 1st of this year they will go on strike.
The company that we order medication from informed us of this.

Forget EBay…

I could not imagine selling a PCP or anything of significant value on eBay again after having seen how greedy they are. Just sold a Spyderco and they took their 13.25% off the total, even off taxes and shipping! That’s right, EBay took 13.25% even off of the taxes and shipping! I called the customer service and they said that it takes money to move money. He did admit that they were hearing a lot of complaints and the resellers leaving eBay. I told him taking too much money loses money, and their greed is disgusting. It would be great if we could sell other items on this forum. eBay could use more competition.

Condor 20 & "Jurassic" Squirrel

Very healthy and clean female "Virginianus squirellasaurus jurassicas" commonly called a "whistle pig" about 12 pounds. She was headed for the Tomato patch at about 60 - 65 yards.

Shooting JSB 15.89 at 900 fps.
