FX  How close to regulator pressure.

I have a FX Maverick .25 caliber. I was wondering how close to your regulator pressure do you let your air bottle pressure to drop before you notice reduced velocities?

My 2nd regulator is set for 135 bar. the upper pressure is 155 bar.. I have been refilling at 200 bar. Should I shoot until I get closer to 155 bar?

Thanks

N/A  Epic Airgun Model 2

I have been curious about this new model in the past couple weeks. I also am very aware that this model looks just like a similar makers model here in the US- Cough, cough, EVOL. Anyways, just to pass along info I received, here is the makers response to my inquiry below-------

-Price will depend on the configuration since there will be a huge amount of different accessories and possible setups. But I think that it should be around 1800 euros for the basic setup. You have to see the rifle personally to see the quality and everything which we are doing completely different from the others.

Hopefully, the first pieces will be shipped at the end of September to the USA-

Ground Squirrel Control

Hello,
This is my first post here.

Almost got scammed on Target Talk!

A couple of days ago I placed a WTB ad for a Hammerli CR20 (hard to find) here and on a few other airgun sites. I was contacted on Target Talk by someone who had one for sale. He sent me a three pics and he even put my username and date on them. We agreed on a price and I was planning on getting a m.o. out today.

This morning, during my daily classified search/coffee time, I got another potential seller contact (again on Target Talk). It struck me a little odd to find two CR20s so quickly, but it is a site oriented to target guns. So I thought I’d get some pics and see how much he wants for it. He sent several pics that all looked similar to the first three from the other seller. Here is one in particular.

This guy has been a member there since 2022, but he’s made no posts. So I went back and noticed the first guy has been a member since 2022 too but hasn’t posted anything for a long time and he only had 22 posts.

Well, Hell. Those are too close for comfort. One of these dirty s.o.b.’s are trying to rook me. So I did a google search.

I came across this Polish web site:

They are both trying to scam me!

Usually I’m cautious, but I admit I got caught up with finding what I was looking for that I neglected to do my due diligence. After scrutinizing the first scammers photo, the piece of paper with my user name and date does appear photo shopped.

Umarex  Beginner needing help with scope ring size.

I just received an Umarex Origin in 25 caliber. I have a Barska 4x32 airgun scope to go on it. Tube diameter is one inch. Picatinny/dovetail combo rail. The problem I have is trying to figure out the height I need on the rings to attach the scope to the air rifle. Which has an 8 shot clip.
So my question is. Do I need low, medium, or high rings?

PCP Rifle  SOLD [SOLD] Edgun Leshiy 2 350mm Long 0.25 Caliber w/ REPR Regulator & 1/2UNFx20 Barrel

[No trade offers on this listing please...]

Hello AGN,

I'm looking to sell a very nice Edgun Leshiy 2 0.25 Caliber 350mm Long w/ R.E.P.R. Regulator, custom 1/2UNF x 20 threaded barrel, 2 black updated magazines, 2 mag holders/o-rings, Ergo grip, REPR reg adjustment tool, extra transfer port pucks & original factory box.

I got this Leshiy 2 a few months ago from another well-known AGN member with the intention of converting it to 0.22 to complement my existing 0.25 L2 . . . but I haven't touched any of my PCPs over the last 3+ months due to life and other hobbies and don't need to have a $2k+ rifle sitting around unused. This rifle is in great condition as shown in the photos; the factory shroud and top & bottom air tubes have been carefully wrapped in an automotive grade carbon fiber vinyl wrap that looks great but can also be easily removed without any residue if you don't want it. This rifle holds air, cycles and otherwise functions perfectly. Serial # is 4764; this is from the good batch of Leshiy 2's that has the good nickel plating that doesn't chip or peel off like some other L2's had. The 350mm Alfa Precision barrel and moderator endcap were professionally rethreaded to have 1/2 UNF x 20 threads so that you can easily attach your favorite UNF threaded moderator without needing a separate thread adapter.

This Leshiy 2 REPR Long currently sells for $2,470 from Edgunwest.com (which makes it over $2,700 after tax/shipping) and is currently sold out in this configuration. Scope & mounts are not included in the purchase price.

Price here is FIRM at $1,950 + 1/2 actual shipping

Local pickup is available in the SF Bay Area - otherwise, payment by Paypal Friends & Family is preferred (or add 3.5% if using PP Goods & Services). I have plenty of feedback both here and dating back to the Yellow Forum so please feel free to do your due diligence and know that you're dealing with a reputable trader.

Other  8 springers 50 yard two 10 shot group tests

Today, I decided to do something a little different. Normally my springers get shot indoors, and all of them will shoot within 1/4" to 1/2" groups easily on the 18 yard range. According to the weather channel, the breeze was +/- 7 mph, but even though noticeable, I don't think it was quite that strong in the valley where my targets were positioned. So today, I decided to test them all at 50 yards. I don't shoot any springer FTT competitions, so I don't know what acceptable groups are from a springer at 50 yards - and I really don't care, as for my purposes, they shoot very tight (1/4" to 3/8" 10 shot groups are typical) inside where I primarily use them in the winter because the pcp accuracy gets boring.

At any rate, following are images of the rifles and the 50 yard tests, with a summary chart at the beginning, for those of you who have any interest in this matter. BTW, each rifle has been meticulously tuned and tested with a wide variety of available pellets. The pellets used here were the pellets each rifle preferred on the indoor range at 18 yards. All pellets were straight from the tin, with no sorting.

Optics  SOLD Japanese Barra scopes

up for sale is my Japanese Barra scope collection, amazing glass but they don’t really fit my use/need of long range and field target use to my liking. Some of the best glass I’ve ever seen, super bright and white Japanese glass with biggest eye box ever for low light conditions. They are a bit heavier than the average Chinese scopes but the glass is so much better. They are quite rare find these days, they never made or sold many of them. All scopes are in very good condition in original box with no ring marks or scratches I can see. All the scopes have Mil adjustment or NOT MOA turrets.

FX  FX power wheel

Has anyone had the opportunity to replace the original power wheel (number and letter combo) with the newer (all number #19908) version? I purchased one as a spare when I ordered my Crown MKII last year, and just assumed it was a drop in replacement, but the lobe on newer version appears to extend beyond the radius of the cutout in the receiver, so it only drops in if the tip of the lobe lines up with the hammer block cutout, limiting its range of travel. FX support confirms it should be a drop in replacement. Maybe it's just an out of spec part? Seems unlikely, but thought I'd ask.

Lubricants - not all the same purpose

Ballistol, CLP, silicone grease, silicone oil, Moly, dry Moly, and on and on. Each does have a specific purpose, but what? Isn't lube basically a lubricant that lubricates moving parts and protects surfaces from corrosion from moisture. What could go wrong? Well, here is one from me. In the cocking lever section of my taipan vet I removed the top block where the cheek rest is and saw it needed some TLC to make the cocking action smoother as it was so I decided to apply some Moly in the spring section as well as the front where the pin moves back and forth and along the pin probe. Worked fine for a month, then I found the cocking action becoming real gummy and sticky requiring more effort than it ever did. I opened the cocking section back up and applied some ballistol to clean the mess I created up. worked great- for a time. Today I opened it up again and went in with silicone oil and Q tips and rubbed all traces of moly I could see, applied repeatedly untill all was shiny and slick. Now it's reassembled and working like it should.

I don't know how long the silicone oil will last, it should be longer than ballistol, or would silicone grease be better for this application, or is basic white lithium grease the answer? Your thoughts on what lube is best where?

Fady Kiwan from Lebanon wins at The World Bench-Rest Championships

WhatsApp Image 2023-07-31 at 16.05.06.jpg

!!! BREAKING NEWS !!! BRK/Daystate shooter, Fady Kiwan from Lebanon has just shot his way to victory in the 50m Unlimited Air Rifle Class at the World WRABF Championships being held in the Czech Republic. Fadi’s .22cal BRK Ghost posted a score of 724.21 points to eclipse the field – a score so good that the rest of the Top 5 (scoring 714.19, 711.21, 711.19 and 711.12) simply didn’t have a ghost of a chance!

What’s more, Fadi even set a NEW WORLD RECORD for the event! Now, THAT’S how to fly the Lebanese/BRK flag - well done Fadi 🥇🥇

HW/Weihrauch  Weihrauch HW100S Shot Count

After seeing some recent interest in shot counts for the newer 50 Joule rated versions of the HW100 I decided to do a chrony run on a fill with mine. I also wanted to fulfill a little curiosity regarding overfilling the rifle somewhat versus the affect it would have on the regulator. One of my scuba tanks, a 232 Bar steel version, still had enough pressure to do a 10% overfill so this what I tested with. Weihrauch specifies 200 Bar or 2900 psi and this fill was 220 Bar or 3190 psi according to the gauges. After 5 shots the gun's gauge was on the line dividing green from red, the marking for 200 Bar. Shooting was done with the 18 grain JSB pellets. I shot the Evanix Renegade rifle over the chrono, a Shooting Chrony F1, first to make sure that it was operating properly. I also overfilled it the same and the non-regulated rifle did not like that. Shooting the 28-1/2 grain Seneca Domes the initial velocity was 700 fps and didn't climb tp 800 fps until the gauge indicated 200 Bar. The velocities with the HW100S are as follows: 981, 970, 971, 965, 970, 975, 969, 972, 970, 974, 976, 983, 984, 984, 985, 975, 975, 976, 975, 975, 978, 977, 975, 976, 977, 975, 976, 976, 979, 978, 980, 980, 981, 980, (gauge at yellow line), 975, 968, 963, 953, 943.

From 3190 psi/220 Bar to the yellow line 9n the gauge brought 34 shots. Should make 28 shots from 2900 psi/200 Bar. I have not touched the factory setting of the regulation or hammer spring. Power with the 18 grain JSBs is 38 ft lbs or 51.5 Joules. The 10% overfill had no affect on the regulation. The Weihrauch gauge shows yellow at 120 Bar. There were actually 3 more shots past the beginning of the yellow zone at 975, 968 and 963 then the next two shots plummeted to 953 and 943. I stopped shooting there as it was about to come a thunderstorm, I picked up everything and barely finished getting all inside the house before it got rough out. The velocities were dropping sharply anyways.

I have the rifle zeroed at 43 yards and the ballistic calculations show 2 Mils holdover at 75 yards and 4 at 100 and actual shooting confirmed that.
