I have an almost new TX200HC.
I ordered and received(in 5 days) a TinBum Short Stoke tune kit from TinBum in England.
I'm getting ready to install it and I'm going to use Krytox instead of TinBum's moly lube that came with the kit.
I have cleaned all of the old lube out of the gun completely, but have a question:

Do I lube the outside of the compression tube where it slides back and forth in the receiver when cocking? There was a very thin film of something on it when I removed it and in the receiver, but I thought that may have just been the moly from the spring and piston that dispersed though firing the gun.

I have it all so clean now, that I'm being extremely careful about where and how much I lube with the Krytox.
I've looked at dozen's of threads both here and on the other forums regarding tuning a TX200, but nothing has ever been mentioned about lubing the outside of the compression tube where it slides in the receiver when cocking the gun.
I guess that I could call/email TimBum, but wanted ya'lls opinion please.

I am wanting to get started in our local benchrest outdoor 50yd matches. I have an RTI prophet 1 in 22 with the LR barrel, Vulcan 3 700mm 22 setup up for slugs at 80FPE for hunting. A Hatsan carnivore in 30cal at 100fpe for hunting and a tx200 in 177 for FT. Also, a Vulcan 3. 500mm in 177 for open class.
I thought about trying the RTI for it and using my rock jr front rest and a rear bag for it.

Now,
I would like a dedicated gun for benchrest. I can't afford a Thomas but I would like a decent gun and scope and a flag setup with maybe something different for rest setup. If had to put a limit it would be 2,000 for rifle/scope setup and unsure about flags and rest. I do know no high dollar rests.

Also, I have never played this game before.

I acquired this Sirocco Delux .22 SN270 from David Slade on consignment while picking up or dropping off some other guns to be serviced about two years ago...he had just serviced it...I had him set the power at 12fpe and besides one pellet when I got it home has been in storage since then. Finally got around to mounting a Vortec 4x12 scope, ran 7 Crosman domes across the crony, 12fpe right on the money...took a few shots to sight it in at 25yds...shooting off my knee as my custom is...printed this group...not bad for a 41 year old just serviced air rifle...if I say so my self! The two flyers were me AND an unfamiliar trigger...odd shooting a springer with no safety to let off! Not every day one get to shoot a first year of production Theoben, (any of 'em these days is a treat), just wanted to share the moment with all my AGN buddies

Is anyone also doing pellet to slug conversions taking larger caliber pellets, cutting off the skirts, and then using a 3d printed jig for sanding out a spitzer shaped round? I’ve made some rolling jigs and have found this is really an economical way to test slugs without dealing with the metallurgy differences of slugs to pellets. Barrel wear around rifling reduction when shooting slugs is measurably reduced. Using a bore scope I am seeing significant land and grove wear reduction across 10,000 rounds.

For those of you who have been die hard vet owners, I’m with you!
This is my 2nd vet, after I stupidly sold the first before giving it a chance.
My only gripe with the vet was in the bullpup configuration with the factory wood stock, I was horrible at shots past 50yds. Not the rifles fault. Just my comfort.
I decided to bite the bullet and ordered a tactical stock for it.
The FIRST time I shot it afterwards, it was like buying a completely different gun. Comfort level is there, and I’m comfortable now past 50yds. With a pic rail up front to help with bench work, it’s even more sturdy.
icing to top the cake (that I haven’t seen ANYWHERE mentioned till now) is that it takes AR style flat top grips!!!
I HATED the wood grip that came with it, so after I found this out, I was ecstatic to say the least.
Very happy with my purchase!

Hello everybody. I just wanted to write about my newest addition. I received my JTS Airacuda yesterday from Airgun Depot. It arrived empty of air so I was a little skeptical that it would hold air, due to the recent posts. Well after cleaning the barrel which was very very dirty, I mounted my Arken SH 4-25 on it. Really big scope for the rifle, but it was just laying around so I put it on. Well aired it up, and popped the first shot. It was low and to the left, at 25 yds. Dialed int the corrections and bingo dead center. Following shots were dead on. I was shooting FX 25.39’s at 907 fps. Two mags shot with those. Next I tried some FX 34gr pellets. They were low as expected and speeds of 850 down to 830 before falling off the reg. I was very pleased ate the results and the way the rifle shot. No clipping with the Donnyfl Sumo either.
Ok now the not so good news.
After about 5 mags, the rifle started leaking air from the foster fill connection. I tried several blasts of air trying to reseat the valve. No good. I tried inserting something to reseat the valve. No good. So I was wondering what to do. Send it back, or try to fix. Well I did the latter. And after removing the end of the air tube, I found no check valve, but a counter sunk screw with one flat side and an o ring. The screw wasn’t tight enough to hold the o ring against the surface. Easy fix, but I thought it was bad to have to fix a new rifle after 50 shots. So I hope this is not the first of bad things to come, but if it holds up, I believe it will be an awesome rifle to shoot. I’ve got numerous o ring kits, so I’m ready for a reseal job “when” if it happens. Thanks for all your posts. May you have unlimited air and ammo,and shoot straight! GG

I am selling my .22 Air Arms S510 Xtra FAC Carbine. It has been sitting idle as I just don't have a use for it. It shoots JSB 18.13 pellets at 860fps, and will stack the pellets in one hole with almost boring accuracy. Topped with a Hawke Airmax 30 4-16X50 FFP AMX IR. Includes 2 Mags, 1/2-20 adaptor, fill adaptor, and shroud end cap.

The wood is very beautiful, with tons of grain pattern and spalting. The wood was pretty dry when I received it, so I gave it a few rubdowns with boiled linseed oil. Metal is in great shape, with one small nick in the shroud end cap (see last pic) Bought this new in Spring 2022, and have probably put 150-200 pellets through it.

I am planning for Fall a multi day trip on trails deep in a bush, and tinkering to bring my L2 with me.
But I don't have a suitable short parralax scope for trails short to mid distances.
I have two high power target scopes for BR, way too bulky and heavy.
And I have one older scope that I opened the front and moved the shortest focus down to 5 Meters but this surgery resulted moving the far focus as well I think shorter then 20 M, this one I use in my backyard for my walnuttrees damage prevention. And this one as well 13" long and extends at rear 3", not really backpack size.
So, shopping now for a short scope that won't extend the rear when the L2 is folded ( like the IO and LPVO I had earlier), meaning long eye relief also short parallax. And not to break the bank.
Any L2 owner can chime in?

Good afternoon guys. As some of you know, a couple of months ago I ordered in 6 Cometa guns for testing reasons. They looked great but I had to see how they performed. Being as to how there aren't many dealers for Cometa here in the US I reached out to Cometa who happily sold me some guns to play with. Well after a couple of months of testing and probably 15k pellets through the lot of them, I can safely say they are pretty decent guns. I will be placing another larger order here at the end of the month and offering up the chance to get in on the order.

The two guns in particular that I really like are the 300 USC Premier and the Fenix 400 USC Premier Start. The 400 USC in particular has really grabbed my attention. Its a very short carbine (40" including the moderator!) that is lightweight, has a fairly light target/hunting trigger, and has proven to be very accurate at 16-18fpe.

The 300 USC is a great 13fpe springer but has one major downfall OOB. The trigger is heavy and nonadjustable. Like 3lbs heavy. After doing a bit of experimentation with some polishing and light re-shaping of the sear I managed to get the trigger down to 1.5lbs and it works great.

On my pursuit to mouse fart quiet I’m able to get my pcp pretty quiet but target still smacks! Duct seal or rubber mulch same thing. The actual target (paper/cardboard) smacks. Will a 177 be better in terms of anal and diameter of the hole? I’m envisioning a smaller surface area and therefore less of a smack noise or is the difference negligible?

Hey all. New to airguns, new to the forum. Been doing a lot of research before making my first purchase and would appreciate hearing from people who own or have shot both regulated and unregulated semi-auto PCPs. There is probably something I'm missing, but I keep coming to the conclusion that an unregulated semi-auto be preferable to one with a regulator for quick follow-up shots. Would the accuracy loss due to the lack of regulator be less than the accuracy loss from not allowing the regulator to fully fill up? Buying with the intention of snake control which can be difficult when they are moving (copperheads and rattlesnakes in my area) but will likely end up spending more time plinking overall. Thanks.

I have had an HW95 for several years that I use for pesting and target shooting, but being slow to reload, too many birds got away. I decided to take the plunge into the PCP world and got a used gen 1 Marauder along with a GX CS2 compressor. The previous owner seems to have tuned it well, initial testing seems to be pretty good for shot count. I was considering the Marauder and Akela, and decided to go with the Marauder because of the tuning capability would be a good learning experience for me. I know I already want to make a depinger, that gets annoying!

I have been testing different pellets to see what works best, I have an old box of Crosman Premiers 7.9gr that didn’t work well with the HW95, that shoot great at 25m, but at 35m the group opens up a lot. I have some CPUM from Walmart that do the same thing, great group at 25m, then much worse at 35. I have a JSB sample pack, the Exact 8.3 looked like a shotgun at all ranges, but the Exact 10.3 did really well out to 45m. The RWS Superdomes are my go to pellets in the HW95, but are horrible in the Marauder. Of course the expensive pellets work the best.

Does the issue with the Crosman pellets shooting great at 25m and then much worse by 35m sound like it could be improved by optimizing the velocity? The boxed Premiers in 7.9gr are shooting at about 950 fps. I plan on doing some more testing at different velocities, but it would be helpful knowing if there is a typical optimum velocity for these pellets, I couldn’t find that in my searching, so it looks like it depends on the gun.
